It rained like hell in August of ‘86, flooded so bad Steve couldn’t even get his car out of the driveway. It probably served him right to have to walk through the pouring rain all the way to the trailer park.

Maybe if he’d come sooner, maybe if he had the nerve to look Eddie in the eyes when he told him that big plan of his… to say whose face he really saw next to him in his dreams…

Maybe if he’d just told Eddie how he felt instead of treating him like they were never even friends, making Eddie believe they were scorned strangers again for weeks, then maybe Steve wouldn’t be standing drenched and pathetic and begging at Eddie’s doorstep.

Steddie Angst Audio Transcription:

[Eddie opens the door of his trailer to reveal Steve standing there in the rain, nervous and distraught while Eddie is cold and resentful]

Steve: Eddie, hey man, uh—

Eddie: What are you doing here?

Steve: I just want to make things right to you now…

Eddie: [Hits the door angrily] No, don’t bullshit me, man!

Steve: I- I- [bangs his hand against the house in frustration] I messed up! Okay? I mess- I messed up… Okay? Really.

Eddie: I don’t even know why I care—

[Eddie starts to shut the door but Steve’s hand stops it]

Steve: Eddie.

[They lock eyes and Eddie reluctantly stays]

Steve: Do you remember that dream I told you about?

Eddie: [sighs, he remembers] Yeah.

Steve: I left one part out, it’s the most important part… You were there.

[Eddie pauses, like he can’t let himself believe it]

Eddie: I guess I couldn’t accept the fact that Steve Harrington was—

Steve: It’s all true. Every last word.

[Eddie surges toward Steve and they embrace in the rain while Eddie is overwhelmed with emotion]

Steve: [breathless] It’s okay.

Steve: I can still hear his voice 😔

Steve had let Hellfire Club play at his house after the events of the upside down, after Steve had dragged Eddie out of hell and shoved his guts back into his body. He's cooking for them, because why not. It's not like any of them will turn down free food, anyway. He hasn't noticed Eddie in the kitchen until he turns and stops right in front of Eddie- "Jesus! Really? Stop sneaking up on me like that!" Steve says, jumping back as Eddie slips to the fridge. "Sorry, sorry" Eddie says. For some reason, as big as Steve's house is Eddie's always so close to him, like they're opposite poles of magnets. Steve turns back to his cooking, Eddie slinking to peek over his shoulder to see. Steve can feel Eddie's breathing against his ear but he doesn't realize he's that close.

It's nice like this, Eddie's head on his shoulder as he cooks. If they were anything more, Steve would want Eddie to wrap his arms around his waist and press his back to his chest. He realizes he does want that, even if him and Eddie might not end up being more. Eddie presses his chest to his back. "That smells good" He says with a grin. It makes Steve smile like an idiot, just a simple compliment about his cooking. Mike has stomped into the kitchen.

"Eddie, dude, what's taking so long!?" Mike says, wondering why his DM is just standing there. Steve whips around at Mike's sudden appearance, causing his lips to brush up against Eddie's. He almost falls back into the stove, Eddie wrapping an arm around his waist and pulling him close to his chest. They lock eyes for a few moments, and Eddie pulls him in for another kiss, this time not accidental at all. "I- duuude, really!? Can this wait until AFTER Hellfire?" Mike says, and Eddie doesn't even pull away as he flips Mike off. Mike leaves and Eddie smiles against Steve's lips.

When they finally pull away to catch their breaths, Eddie is now smiling like an idiot as well. The moment is interrupted by a burning sound behind Steve. "Shit!" Steve hisses, turning quickly to tend to the food.

And Eddie does the thing, we wraps his arms around Steve's waist and rests his head on his shoulder.

Write it, no matter how silly it is. Especially if it's silly.

You were lying on your bed, Joseph laying across your legs. You're busy talking to your friend on the phone, too busy to notice Joseph's head on your stomach as he shifts positions to lay between your legs on his back.

"Let me guess, Joesph is there?" Your friend asks, and you turn the camera around to show them Joeeph laying across you. "Gold star" You say. Of course, when you realize how he's laying you feel your face heat up- that oblivious idiot laying on you like that. He tilts his head back to look at your phone and gives your friend a polite wave."God, why don't you two just date already!? It's so annoying" Your friend huffs, clearly annoyed that you two are still just friends. Joseph looks away rather quickly, but you swear his ears are as red as yours. "Shut up.." You mutter to your friend before they abruptly hang up not bothering to give a warning anymore.

Joseph looks up at you again, titling his head back once more. "Should we talk about that?" Joseph asks. It almost confuses you, but what else could he be talking about? His ears are a bright red, and you don't think yours are any different, honestly. "Alright." You say simply. Joseph sits up off of you and looks quite uneasy, an expression you don't like seeing on the poor doe-eyed man. He takes a deep breath and figs his palms into the mattress before speaking.

"Would you ever consider that?" He asks you, avoiding your gaze up until the very end. "Like, with you? I mean, yeah." You say, deciding to just spit it out even if you don't know how to follow it up, but it looks like you just told him Christmas came early. "You would?" He asks you. You nod and force your gaze away from those big brown eyes of his. You take a deep breath before nodding. Then he scoots forward just a little bit

"do you mind if I...kiss you?" He asks oh so softly. Your eyes dart to his full pink lips for a moment and you nod once more, completely lost for words. You manage to squeak out a yes and he gently puts a hand on the back of your neck before your lips meet his. Your eyes flutter closed after a moment, he's gentle with you, yet still passionate. His lips are soft against yours and you wish you had put some chapstick on beforehand. When you both pull away, both of you idiots burst into giggles.

"Was I really that obvious?" You ask in a whisper and he laughs again. "I think we both were" He says quietly before kissing you again
