How different is SSO story from SSL?

It is really really different. SSL had a lot of unanswered questions and bringed up some stuff only to completly aboned it.

SSO is more or less a reimagening. But still wonder what they keep from SSL.

Is Mr Sands and the dark riders still aliens? Is Pandoria a planet or another dimension? Is Buck still Katjas brother? Is Buck still one of Garnoks generals(not one of the dark rider but like a foot general)? Are the Grunts still robot clones(they do seem like it, Idk, still ask)? Is Garnok a normal monster or is he a leader of a race(really not sure anymore)? Can you talk to Garnok? Is it possible to reason with him?

Darko seems to control Garnok like he was just an animal. Didnt a character(dont remember who) said Dark Core think they could control Garnok to take over the world? In SSL they try to free their ruler. Not to try to control him. But to follow him.

Maybe I have missunderstood some things but still. I wanna know the lore.
