So there’s this old German remedy for getting rid of boils. A mix of eggshells, egg whites, and sulfur rubbed into the boil while reciting the incantation and saying five Paternosters. And according to my prof’s friend (a doctor), it’s all very sensible. The eggshells abrade the skin so the sulfur can sink in and fry the boil. The egg white forms a flexible protective barrier. The incantation and prayers are important because you need to rub it in for a certain amount of time.

It’s easy to take the magic words as superstition, but they’re important.

Wednesday Witchcraft: 7 Keys to Successful Divination

1. Better to be wrong than vague. Everyone is afraid of being wrong when they divine, and so often people couch their divination in such vague terms that no matter what happens, they can look back and claim that they were right. Don't do this. Vague information isn't actionable or helpful. It's better to be detailed and be wrong. Lots of professionals can be wrong—just look at the success rate of mutual fund managers and lawyers.

2. Be brutal. No one likes delivering unpleasant news, but in the end, its better to deliver unpleasant tidings than it is to pretend like everything is fine. Yes, the death card can mean great change, but if the question was about someone's health, that great change is possibly exactly what it looks like.

3. Be literal. Divination is sometimes very literal. It is often as literal as it can possibly be. I once drew the Pope card for someone who, unbeknownst to me, was scheduled to have an audience with the Pope in a month. Another time I drew the Lovers card, which shows a man choosing between two women. This querent had literally been in a three way that week.

4. Remember the question. I meet readers all the time who forget to interpret the cards or the runes or whatever it is that they read with, in the light of the question that was asked. They read like they are just giving a general reading. The question is what will determine the meaning of the card, far more than the little white book your deck came with. One of the reasons that I favor Marseilles-style decks is that the cards are plainer and it's easier to focus on the person in front of me and their problem, rather than the esoteric onslaught of runes and symbols and letters and sigils that have been packed into Occult decks, or whatever fun theme your deck is based on. Hello Kitty Tarots are fun, but is that helping your divination?

5. Get readings from others. As I have said, no one likes delivering unpleasant news. We especially don't like delivering it to ourselves. Get readings from other people, preferably ones who are not invested in you hearing only good things.

6. Gather intelligence. A single reading is a piece of data. You take that and compare it to other pieces of data. This could be other readings in different styles, but it could also be rumors, insight, analysis, and any other way that you can think of to get information. Actionable intelligence is constructed from multiple corroborating data points.

7. Practice. Keep doing it. Follow up with people afterward. It is the only way to get good.

Bedridden Witch: The Setup

A revamp of my very first bedridden witch post, which now pales in comparison to all my themed ones! This post is all about setting up your bedroom/space to aid in witchcraft while bedbound. See my other bedridden posts for ideas on performing witchcraft while bedridden (click here!).

The Bed:

Pillow:

Pillowcase color correspondences

Sigils in pillowcase

Scented (or not) sachet under pillow

Crystals under pillow or (small ones) in pillowcase

Tarot cards under pillow

Mattress:

Sheets/bedding color correspondences

Sigils under mattress

Spray with scented mist (I have one from a local lavender farm)

Wash with scented (or not) detergent that has specific correspondences/components

Under the bed:

Tie a sachet underneath the bed

Place/secure a physical tie for your wards under each corner–if you spend a lot of time in bed, reinforcing the wards specifically on your bed can be helpful

Keep a crate/drawer of frequently used witchy supplies you can easily access; crystals, herbs, divination tools, spell components, etc. 

Keep a stack of witchcraft books you want to read

Bedside table:

Store supplies: crystals, books, sprays, etc. 

A surface for candles; flame or electric, or a Himalayan salt lamp. Wax melters are also fantastic.

A surface for a EO or reed diffuser

Keep a charging board there for the crystals you use

Keep your favorite divination tools nearby

A nice spot to keep your grimoire/journal

Create a small altar

Spell jars

Walls:

Hang….

Herb and/or spell sachets

Artwork that relates to your craft

Devotional work/prayers

Star and moon phase charts

Witches ladder

Herb/flower/plant garlands

Plants to dry

Fairy/twinkle lights along the top of the walls

Physical tie for your wards in each corner

A hanging altar

Window/Windowsill:

Curtain color correspondences

Hang a rainbow prism to let the sunlight scatter through your space

Place some houseplants or herbs on the windowsill

Hang windchimes outside

Hang bird feeders outside

Place a rain gauge outside 

Other: 

Decorate with seasonal things (flowers, leaves, paper snowflakes, etc.)

Keep jars of the different elements and/or their correspondences (water, earth, air, fire)

Keep spell bottles nearby. 

Having a bed tray (typically used for food) can make a great working surface

Technology can also help tie everything together: ambiance tracks, videos of things like a fire crackling, snow falling, a stream, a forest, etc. 

This post remains fairly neutral/vague, but designing your space with a certain theme can influence your craft!

hello loves! many of you requested that I share some of my top manifestation tips and that is exactly what I am going to do today! this is my exact process for when I want to generate money into my life. whether it’s $20, $200, or $2,000, this process has always rewarded me. this is going to be a longer post so grab a snack bby! as always, feel free to reblog with your own money tips! 

✨ change your money mindset!

now, this is something that takes consistent effort to build but , the sooner you start, the better. many of us go through our lives with limiting beliefs about money. these beliefs are detrimental to our ability to manifest money and generate a stable income. 

✨ negative money beliefs/thoughts: 

money is hard to make.

only a select few are blessed with the ability to generate wealth. 

money is stressful as fuck. 

“money doesn’t grow on trees!”

“I’m broke.”

“I’m awful at saving money, it just blows out of my pockets.”

✨ positive money beliefs:

making money gets to be easy, fun, and fulfilling.

we live in an abundant universe with infinite possibility!

money is energy, energy is eternal. there is more than enough money to go around. 

I am abundant and deserving of wealth.

money is sacred, therefor I spend my money consciously and wisely. 

if you want to generate more money, this is where you gotta start!

✨  find your ‘WHY’  

think of the universe as a loving parent! if you were to go up to your parents and say “hey, can I have $5,000?” they would probably look at you like you’re crazy, right? BUT if you went up to them and said, “hey, I would really love to invest in my business. I have two year plan created and know exactly how this business could impact people, I just need your support getting started”. they would be much more likely to hop on board!

✨ be clear about why you want to manifest this money! take out a pen and paper, write down the amount you’re trying to manifest, and then write exactly why you desire this amount.

the universe responds to clarity!

it doesn’t matter if your why is simple. it doesn’t have to be super meaningful. if your “why” is that you want to go to a concert for the experience, that is perfectly fine! 

just be clear!

✨ list ways for money to manifest

one of the biggest road blocks of manifesting money, especially when we’re manifesting larger amounts, is the fact that we have no idea where it’s going to come from. this creates a lot of doubt and worry. as we know, doubt is a manifestation killer. when you create a list of alllll the ways you could possibly manifest this money, it suddenly becomes more reasonable and less stressful. money has a magical way of finding us! this list will open up those doors.

 a sudden raise, a gift from a relative, selling old clothes, manifesting a new job, offering your creative services for extra money, a generous donor, getting randomly invited to be a part of a scientific study and earning the EXACT amount you wanted to manifest (this one happened to me!)

 there are so many ways money can unexpectedly find you! don’t cross anything off! 

✨ get in the energy of abundance

one of the things I do is make a playlist with songs that make me feel wealthy, glamorous, and rich af (even when my wallet is running low!). it’s important to feel as if you’re already a millionaire. how would you feel about money? how would you feel about spending money? how would you dress? how would you think? how would you treat others?

ways to get into a luxurious, abundant mindset:

give yourself a face mask or a bubble bath

go to your favorite store and do some window shopping. try on clothes and get excited about buying them in the future!

listen to music that inspires you to feel rich af 

wear a lot of gold jewelry and accessories

visualize yourself living your richest life!

I absolutely adore working with the goddess Lakshmi. there is a mantra I have been using for years and it is designed to honor her. in return, she has blessed me with endless abundance in times of need. the exact video I use is linked below. ✨ crystal meditation

meditating with citrine absolutely changed my life! I used to meditate with citrine every morning before going to work. anytime I missed a day, my earnings would be much less! the first time I tried this, I had so many clients come in that I wasn’t able to take a lunch break haha. the process is simple: hold onto your chosen crystal while you meditate on your intention. here are some of my favorite crystals for manifesting money:

✨ show gratitude 

love, appreciate, and honor the money that is already in your bank account! gratitude is like an extra shot of espresso for your manifestations. it magnifies the energy like crazy!

✨ turn your wallet into an altar

make a money altar out of your wallet! it’s insanely simple and has mesmerizing results. you can get as creative or as simple as you would like. in my wallet, I have the Queen of Pentacles tarot card, a small citrine point, a piece of aventurine, and a $20 bill with a sigil written on it. the intention is to turn your wallet into something sacred!

anoint the outside with oil

hide some crystals in the pockets

put some money attracting herbs in one of the zippers (I love basil!)

keep a some ‘enchanted’ money in there

you can get super creative with this one!

one rule I make for my ‘wallet altar’ is to keep a minimum amount of money in there. I have one $20 that I never use. instead, I keep it in there as an energetic reminder that I am always abundant and always supported.
