Lucky to have been able to see this- from my bedroom window! It’s rare enough for the moon to pass my line of sight from the comfort of my bed, (happens once or twice a year) but I have NEVER seen this phenomenon. Absolutely incredible.

This is lovely. I have been a grandma since i was two. In my heart and spirit at least.
In this house, we wear heart shaped lockets and make heart shaped things, stare at moon and do grandma activities and just love, love, love and love.
This is just so lovely. As I am cresting the hill (I’m 44) it’s less likely to find praise or inspiration in regards to aging. For women in particular, it can be very isolating when you slowly become sort of invisible. I see some men gain status as they age and I believe it’s because our society grants men grace by calling older men “wise” “distinguished” “leaders” sometimes because they are, but also just as a natural consequence of this patriarchy. Women are measured differently. Often unfairly written off as too much, too wrinkly or saggy or whatever else that is naturally associated with birthing children and sacrificing their own lives to care for family.
Let’s not forget that women (including trans women) are natural kin keepers- keeping the family or found-family together and cared for. The matriarchs are who remember the birthdays, the distant friends or family, and they work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the community together.
Powerful and graceful, and likely cranky and sharp tongued, they deserve the world. I hope to live up the mothers and grandmothers before me.
She looks like Demeter 💗
