scenario: [ james has a ridiculous injury that he doesn't want to explain to ruby. ]

          “ you  know  i  ain’t  gonna  judge  you,  right ? ”  ruby  says  after  a  minute,  placing  her  hands  on  her  hips  as  she  continues  to  observe  the  injury  in  question.  “ not  to  pry  or  nothin’,  but  you  can  tell  me  what  happened.  it  can  stay  just  between  us. ”

          alex  has  worked  hard  to  master  the  art  of  tying  ties.  he  won’t  admit  to  it,  but  he’s  had  more  trail  and  errors  than  he’d  ever  like  to  admit.  but,  having  been  the  president’s  son,  and  having  been  in  the  limelight  for  going  on  two  terms  now,  he  prided  himself  in  being  able  to  tie  the  perfect  tie.  after  all,  he’d  practiced  a  lot.  

          so,  when  ivy  came  over  to  swat  his  hands  away  and  tie  his  tie  for  him,  alex  let  out  a  half-hearted  scoff.  a  half-smirk  pulled  at  his  lips  as  he  watched  her,  eyebrow  raised  as  he  asked,  “ what,  was  my  way  not  up  to  your  standards,  miss ? ”

scenario: taffy tries to coach [ character of your choice ] through flirting, an interview, or socializing in general.

          taffy  is  a  perfectionist;  she  prides  herself  on  the  things  she  gets  right.  she  might  not  be  good  at  everything,  but  she  knows  the  things  that  she  is  good  at:  cheerleading,  social  events,  flirting…  she  likes  the  attention  it  brings  her,  though  she’d  be  hard  pressed  to  admit  it.  she’s  simply  naturally  gifted,  as  her  mother  would  say…

          and  what  better  way  to  put  her  talents  to  good  use  than  by  helping  those  less  fortunate  than  her ?

          her  eyes  have  already  locked  onto  the  unfortunate  soul,  taking  pity  on  them  as  she  prances  over.

          “ oof,  that  was  harsh,  babe, ”  she  says,  referring  to  the  scene  she’d  just  witnessed—a  painfully  awkward  attempt  to  hold  a  conversation  with  a  cute  peer—before  she’s  flashing  a  million  watt  smile  and  continuing,  “ lucky  for  you,  i  know  a  few  tips  and  tricks  if  you  want  them. ”

          her  nose  wrinkles.  henry  and  alex  are  two  of  the  most  sickeningly  sweet  couples  she’s  ever  bared  witness  to  in  her  life.  she’s  observed  the  two,  calculating  the  numbers  in  her  head;  one  hundred  percent  probability  that  those  two  will  stay  together  for  the  rest  of  their  lives.  still,  one  can  only  take  so  much  of  the  cuteness.

          “ the  claremont-diaz  charm  strikes  again, ”  she  muses,  nodding  sagely.  “ enough  to  leave  a  mark  on  you,  i  see… ”  her  tone  is  teasing  as  her  eyes  fall  on  the  poorly  concealed  hickey  on  the  pulse  point  of  henry’s  neck.

scenario: luke needs a new outfit or haircut, and kate is here to help.

          his  hair  had  seen  better  days  and  he’d  never  been  one  to  be  good  at  the  up  keep  on  it,  anyhow.  as  a  kid,  his  mother  used  to  cut  his  hair  herself,  since  she  claimed  that  it  saved  money,  but  luke  had  always  wished  she’d  just  take  him  to  a  barber  shop,  just  once.  when  he  was  old  enough,  he  paid  to  get  it  done  professionally,  but,  of  course,  with  his  luck,  it  made  all  too  perfect  sense  that  he’d  wind  up  in  the  apocalypse  with  no  one  around  who  could  cut  his  hair  but  himself.

          the  things  people  took  for  granted;  he  could  almost  laugh  at  irony.

          one  would  think  that  after  being  forced  to  cut  his  own  hair  over  the  years,  he’d  get  better  at  it,  but  no.  despite  it  being  more  grown  out  now,  hanging  just  above  his  shoulders,  the  remnants  of  it’s  uneven  choppiness  could  still  be  seen  if  someone  looked  close  enough.

          “ you  don’t  hafta  do  this, ”  he  told  kate  when  she’d  offered  to  cut  his  hair  for  him.  “ i  ain’t  got  anythin’  to  repay  you  with. ”
