scenario: [ carlos accidentally gives tk a black eye, broken nose, or split lip. ]

          the  skin  is  tender  to  the  touch  and  red,  but  it  won’t  be  long  before  purple  starts  to  bloom  beneath  the  skin.  it  wouldn’t  be  the  first  time—tk  is  pretty  sure  that  if  getting  hurt  was  an  olympic  sport,  he’d  have  won  several  gold  medals  by  now.  but  no  amount  of  being  used  to  being  accident  prone  made  said  accidents  hurt  any  less.

          it  still  wouldn’t  stop  tk  from  putting  on  a  brave  face  though—albeit  bruised.

          “ baby,  i  told  you,  it’s  fine, ”  tk  repeated  for  what  felt  like  the  umpteenth  time.  “ i’ve  had  black  eyes  before.  it  doesn’t  mean  i  have  a  concussion.  who’s  the  paramedic  here,  huh ? ”

          watching  nancy  get  red  in  the  face  is  never  not  amusing.  it  was  amusing  when  mike  was  twelve  and  it’s  still  amusing  now  that  he’s  pushing  sixteen.  something  about  annoying  the  shit  out  of  your  sister  never  got  old.

          still,  mike  rolled  his  eyes  so  heavily  they  could’ve  rolled  straight  out  of  his  head,  and  in  a  mocking  tone,  one  that  he’d  be  fully  prepared  for  her  to  punch  the  shit  out  of  him  for,  he  replied,  “ i  think  you  should  be  worried  about  steve  bagging  yours. ”  his  eyes  locked  on  the  zit  she  was  currently  trying  to  cover  up  with  concealer.  “ considering  you  could  see  that  thing  from  jupiter. ”
