a/n: a little drabble i came up with. inspired by 8 letters by why don’t we.

draco stared up at the ceiling of his dorm, allowing his thoughts to roam wild. he was scared; that was the one thing from his racing mind that he could decipher clearly. though it felt like thousands of clouded thoughts were pulsing through his head at once, there was a common factor to all of them.

a certain person had corrupted his mind, them being the only thing he could think about for the past few months they’d spent together. that certain person, was you.

you’d always been apart of his life, ever since that first day on the hogwarts express. he would never forget the snarky remarks you made towards him and his ‘high and mighty’ attitude. the memory made him smile, and looking back, he couldn’t believe where he’d found himself now.

somehow, over the years, the hatred he had for you turned into something else, a newfound appreciation for your constant bickering and before he could process it, you’d formed an unbreakable friendship.

what he felt for you was something he’d never felt before. sure, he’d found girls attractive. you were so much more than that though. you were kind, brilliant, sympathetic, and you didn’t look at him like he was a monster. he’d never opened up to someone like he had to you.

he wasn’t sure when but somewhere along the road he’d began to confide in you. one secret turned into several, and before he knew it, you knew everything. every insecurity, every lie he’d ever told.

you very quickly became his rock; his home. the only person he could trust and show his emotions to without being judged.

he knew what he felt. he knew he’d never feel this way for anyone else. you were one of a kind, there would never be anyone like you for him. that was what scared him.

draco was in love with you, there was no doubt in his mind. but he couldn’t tell you. the two of you had known each other for so long, and he was sure you didn’t feel the same.

even if you did, with everything with voldemort, he couldn’t put you in that sort of danger. he couldn’t lose you, not after everything he’d gone through with you. without you, he wasn’t sure what he could do.

it may have been selfish, but he needed you alive.

he sighed, his eyes gazing over the old-style detailing of the dorms. his eyes slowly began to flutter shut, a picture of you slowly forming in his mind, laughing at one of his jokes. the corners of your lips pulled up gracefully as the beautiful sound left them, your eyes lighting up at the joke.

the smile resting on draco’s lips was automatic, as his body slowly fell into a deep sleep, the same person taking over his dreams.

he wished he could hold you, tell you how he felt. cradle you in his arms every night as you fell asleep, brushing your hair gently out of your face as you doze off.

he wanted to kiss your forehead gently while you wrapped your arms around his middle, swaying you slightly. he wanted to wake up to your beautiful smile, your sleepy eyes that always gave him butterflies.

but he would never be able to do this. all because he couldn’t bring himself to tell you those three words.

if all it is is eight letters, why is it so hard to say?

happy [ p.p | h.g]

word count: 1.0k

pairing: pansy parkinson x hermione granger

warnings: mentions of war / loss.

a/n: a little bit short, but I wasn’t really sure where I was going with this one. *italics = flashback*

request: hello!! recently found out about you and i LOVE your fics! can you write pansmione fluff? like them waking up together on a weekend and making breakfast? living together in an apartment with their cats and being soft and so in loveee (requested by anon)

-

pansy groaned, rolling over in hopes of finding her beautiful lover, only to see an empty indent in their bedsheets where she used to be. this wasn’t an unusual occurrence, hermione was known to be an ‘early bird’ as she liked to call it, one of the muggle terms she’d taught pansy sometime during their years together.

when the two of them started dating, it shocked many people; their friends, families and even witches and wizards they’d never even met properly. everyone they knew disapproved of their relationship, but neither of them cared all that much.

not anymore, anyways.

the day they met was a memory pansy treasured, she remembered it like it was only yesterday. they were fresh out of hogwarts, after the war. she could recall her exact thoughts the moment she’d laid eyes on hermione.

pansy shuffled into the old building, shuddering at the wind behind her as the door closed. she took a seat in a familiar booth, looking across to where her best friends used to be. the thought alone brought tears to her eyes; she hadn’t seen any of them since the war. hell, she wasn’t sure if they were even alive anymore.

the door swung open again, the small bell dinging, snapping her out of her stupor, looking at the door. she gawked as the girl walked in, sitting at the bar and ordering a butterbeer. the girl looked around, eventually stopping and locking eyes with pansy. her jaw dropped, and pansy was sure her expression mimicked hers perfectly.

what pansy wasn’t expecting, however, was for hermione to make her way over. “may i sit?” she asked, gently. pansy nodded, though she wasn’t entirely sure why.

during their school years, the two never fully got along; their house rivalry (and the fact that hermione was a muggleborn) got in the way of any potential relationship.

“how’ve you been?” hermione asked, taking the girl slightly aback.

“uh, a-alright considering. how about you?” a gentle sympathizing smile from hermione had eased her nerves and an all too familiar feeling bubbled in her chest.

she still wasn’t particularly sure why the ex-gryffindor girl decided to sit that day, but she couldn’t have been more thankful she did. pansy was sure she hated her up until that day, but she supposed the war changed everyone’s perspectives. it certainly changed hers; the things she went through and saw scarred her, and she learned in a very harsh way that blood status was worth nothing when it came down to it.

the strongest witches and wizards were those who applied themselves, those like hermione had her eating her words from the past 7 years. pansy wasn’t quite sure why hermione forgave her for all the insults or the years of bullying, but she had a heart of gold, and pansy was sure she didn’t deserve her.

she whined quietly, not loud enough to be heard from the kitchen, which from the smell wafting into the room, she’d determined her beautiful girlfriend was. she hummed as she threw off the covers, gently padding over from their shared bedroom and locking her arms around hermione’s waist.

“g’morning” she muttered, leaning her head against hermione’s back. she spun around, kissing pansy lightly on the forehead, smiling down at her.

“good morning.” against her wishes, hermione gently pulled pansy’s arms off of her, directing her to sit on the couch and put one of their favourite tv shows on so they could enjoy their breakfast together.

their two cats, minerva and filius found their way into the room, hopping up and settling down next to her in their regular spots; pansy on the left side of the couch, minerva and filius in the middle, and hermione’s currently empty spot on the right.

pansy turned on the tv, something that still felt somewhat foreign to her. she’d adapted well to hermione’s lifestyle, no longer wanting to associate herself with her past life and values. sometimes she did feel out of place, but hermione helped her adjust to the new life fully.

hermione came over shortly after, handing her girlfriend a plate and sitting down. their breakfast was spent laughing at each other’s short jokes and the television program playing in the background, simply enjoying the other’s company.

they spent most days on their own; usually one of the two was out working, running errands, or spending time with family/friends (though that was only hermione), and it seemed like the two never got a day to themselves. they both understood though, life after the war was troubling, and the two had to play their part in rebuilding the foundation of wizarding world.

today however, neither were feeling particularly eventful and mutually decided on a lazy day. “can we get back in bed and cuddle?” pansy gave her best pouty face; the one hermione could never say no to.

with a sigh of defeat in return, pansy jumped up and held her hand out for her girlfriend to take, which she did with a smile. she allowed pansy to pull her back to their shared bedroom, and the two of them jumped on the bed, laughing as it bounced underneath them. they crawled up and slipped under the covers, looking at each other with bright smiles.

“i love you, hermione granger.” pansy whispered, gently brushing a piece of hair out of her face.

hermione blushed bright red, but whispered back shyly. “and i love you, pansy parkinson.”

filius and minerva found their way onto the bed, settled down at the girls’ feet. the two giggled, sitting up against their headboard and allowing the two cats to sit on their laps.

they spent the rest of their morning cuddled up, enjoying the presence of the other and their cats. after the war, they weren’t sure they’d ever find happiness, but they found it in each other. they were content with what their little family had become, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

the boy on the train [p.p]

word count: 1.4k

pairing: peter pevensie x reader

warnings: TRIGGER: anixety, anxiety attacks. please do not read if you are not comfortable with the following.

disclaimer: this is not in any way 100% accurate to an attack, everyone is different and this is mostly based off of personal experience. please know you’re never alone and you are so loved. <3

a/n: first narnia imagine, please let me know what you think in asks/replies. any feedback is appreciated!

request: maybe, if you're comfortable, Peter from Narnia with an s/o that has really bad social anxiety and/or anxiety in general?

-

[ TRIGGER WARNING: ANXIETY ]

the train station was your least favourite place. you were never one for crowds, and especially not one for socialization. you wished dearly you could be like others, speak out and make friends with the children at your stops who rode the train next to you, but you couldn’t bring yourself to do it.

the overwhelming nature of your anxiety steered you away from any interactions with anyone you weren’t well acquainted with, and there were not many of those people. instead, it became routine to keep your head low, fidgeting quietly with your hands in an attempt to avoid human contact until you arrive at your stop. it wasn’t ideal, and it wasn’t pleasant, but it worked all the same.

it had been a long day at school, with exams just around the corner you decided to stay a bit later to speak one-on-one with your maths teacher. you didn’t exactly excel in the subject, but you definitely could not find it in yourself to ask questions during class.

the sole thought of speaking out brought a wave of nausea to wash over you, and you swallowed the lump in your throat. you rather opted to wrote down your ‘stupid’ questions, and saved them for the end of the day when all the students had cleared out.

you hadn’t realized just how long it was going to take however, as it was now nearly time for your regular train home to depart, and the next wouldn’t come for another hour. you briskly thanked your teacher and rushed to your locker, throwing books and pens in your bag hurriedly before zipping it up, slamming the door and practically throwing yourself outside, running as fast as you could to the nearest station, silently praying you wouldn’t miss your one-way home. you quickly descended the stairs, muttering some small “sorry”s and “excuse me!”s.

you just barely slid through the closing doors, a relieved sigh escaping your lips. your relief only lasted a matter of seconds, however, because your whole ‘scene’ had managed to attract the attention of most of the cart, and you suddenly felt very aware of their eyes on you. you stood frozen, like a deer caught in the headlights, as tears sprung to your eyes and fear suddenly consumed you. you felt like you were drowning.

you shrunk down, turning your back to the sea of students watching and hopelessly attempting to focus on your breathing, eyes screwed shut. ‘it’s fine. you’re fine.’ you repeated in your head, trying to calm down.

a tap on your shoulder had you tense up, shooting straight up and turning to see a boy standing before you, concern lacing his features. his eyes grew wider as he saw you in your full state, gently taking hold of both your hands, pulling your attention to him. “hey, hey. it’s alright. look at me.”

instead, your gaze dropped to the ground, thoughts of how embarrassing this was rushing through your head. “look at me.” he repeated, firmly. you did as you were told, tears now freely running down your cheeks and your body shaking visibly.

his gaze was soft, calming; but it was intently on you, and you only. “breathe with me.” he coached, and you tried your best to follow his movements. it took a few minutes, him soothingly coaching you through your pain and slowly, but surely, you felt your breath evening out and bit your lip, trying to halt your crying.

he reached into his jacket, pulling out a handkerchief and offering to you, which you gladly accepted, wiping your tears. the two of you stood in silence for a few moments as you cleaned yourself up, him waiting patiently for you to collect yourself.

you finally sniffled, looking up properly at your hero. he wasn’t super tall, but was taller than you with beautiful golden hair, and soft blue eyes. his eyebrows were furrowed into an expression of concern, and his lips were pursed.

he looked about your age, you decided, and you swallowed hard. this man was absolutely gorgeous, and he was kind; he took time out of his day to help you through an attack. you were speechless in every way.

you stared for a moment, realizing your actions and moving your gaze to the floor, a sudden heat rising to your cheeks. “are you alright?” he spoke softly, and looking up at his dazzling blue orbs, you shot him a very forced smile.

“yeah?” you tried to answer, but it came out as more of a question, and the crack in your voice said it all. his frown deepened, and instead of looking at him, your eyes danced around at all the unwanted eyes watching you, and you shrunk more into yourself.

the boy seemed to take notice of this, and his gaze followed yours, seeing all eyes on you. he clenched his hands into fists, surprising you. “oi, mind your business would ya?” he yelled, and in turn some murmurs were heard, before quickly, the regular sound of chatter seemed to bounce through the train and all attention from you was gone. well, almost all attention. the boy in front of you still watched you as though you were made of porcelain and could break at any given moment.

you finally felt the constricting feeling in your lungs lessen, and you looked up to your savior, his gaze intently focused on you. “thank you.” you managed, your voice quiet in contrast to the loud chatter around you, but it made the boy smile. god, his smile was even more beautiful than you would’ve thought.

“don’t thank me, i was only doing what was right. i’m peter, by the way.” he stuck out his hand politely, and hesitating, you reached out for it, shaking it.

“y/n.” maybe it was the way you were entranced by his appearance, or maybe it was the way he helped you, no questions asked, when he hadn’t even known your name. you couldn’t explain it, but this boy made you feel warm, almost safe.

you weren’t used to talking to anyone, let alone a complete stranger on the train, but there was something about him that made you want to open up to him, to get to know him.

“so, are you alright, really?” he asked, after a moment’s silence. you thought about it, and you suddenly realized since he’d found you, you hadn’t done any of the regular ticks to distract your mind of your anxiety; hair pulling, hand fidgeting, nothing. your features lit up into a proud smile, and you beamed up at peter.

“yes, actually. i think i am.” he looked a little bit confused, but smiled nonetheless, proud that he was able to comfort you.

you two chatted on for a little bit longer, before he looked behind him and saw three people looking expectantly at him, standing by the doors. the train slowed to a stop, and he sighed.

“this is my stop, i’m afraid.” you frowned at this; you didn’t want your time to end. he smiled reassuringly, “i’ll see you tomorrow, i hope?” he asked hopefully, but you heard a slight nerve to his voice, and you saw the three behind him burst into a fit of giggles.

his face reddened, and you mimicked his reassuring expression. “i’d love that.” you muttered, and with that, he waved. slipping off the train, who you would later find out to be his siblings, followed him in tow.

the loss of his presence brought back a sudden overwhelming feeling, but you closed your eyes, picturing peter and repeating his comforting words in your head, and you felt the tension in your muscles relax.

you were the next stop, you could make it. you found yourself lost in thought, and before you knew it, you were stepping off the station, head facing the ground, and making your way back to your house.

the next day, you faced the same anxious feeling suffocating you as you sat with your head leaning against the window, your bag tucked neatly under your seat. it was only when the doors to the next station opened, that your gaze turned, your eyes meeting with his beautifully blue ones. smiles illuminated both your faces, and your worry was suddenly forgotten.

and just like that, you found yourself sitting with the boy every day and night on the train, and very quickly you learned, you didn’t actually hate taking the train nearly as much as you once thought.

our spot [d.m]

word count: 1.4k

pairing: draco malfoy x gn!reader

warnings: none i think

a/n: i only proofread this once, please bare with me! also i made the reader gender neutral, i want to make as many of my imagines for everyone as i can!

request: Can I request something where it’s DracoX!femreader and she is friends with Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco but Draco gets jealous when he sees her talking, laughing and just hanging out with them. Maybe Harry or Ron finally does something that sets Draco off? (submitted by @buckys-hoeee)

-

not a lot of things bothered draco malfoy. he was a pureblood slytherin who everyone knew and was scared of. he was titled the slytherin prince for godric’s sake. he had everything he wanted and more all to himself. that was everything, with the exception of you.

you were one of the most beautiful people draco malfoy had ever seen. you were a pureblood, just like him, though you were in another house. your house meant nothing to him at this point though, it was the people you’d chosen to associate yourself with that set him off.

the ‘golden trio’ of hogwarts, they called themselves; hermione granger, ron wealsey and his biggest rival, harry potter. the thought boiled his blood.

you weren’t like the other students at hogwarts. you didn’t swoon over him, but you didn’t despise him either. you were different.

you treated him like a genuine person, a friend even, and that is what really caught him. he wasn’t thought of as a monster to you. he was simply draco malfoy. you didn’t care about status or houses. you were perfect.

which is also why draco didn’t deserve you. he knew this. you were happy with your friends, as much as he hated the trio, seeing you happy made everything okay. you would hang out with him alone; usually your hangouts consisted of late nights watching the stars from the astronomy tower, and that was enough for him.

it was a long last few weeks at hogwarts, students left and right running around, cramming as much knowledge into their heads as they could before the commencement of o.w.l.s and n.e.w.t.s. draco had felt like his entire week had consisted of rereading books and notes and he felt as if his head was about to explode.

he hadn’t seen you in a few days, so he decided to see if he could find you. he knew some of your favourite spots, so he threw his books in his bag and ventured off into the castle to track down his friend.

he searched the library first, as it was your go-to studying place, but after searching the entire library (it was quite full) he realized you weren’t there. he checked your common room next, asking if anyone had seen you, only to yet again be found with nothing but your confused housemates.

he then checked the great hall, the courtyard, and the black lake. he’d checked all of your favourite spots, and you were nowhere to be found. “where are they..?” he wondered out loud, thinking hard. there was only one last spot he could think of.

he looked up at the long staircase leading up to the astronomy tower, and as he began his ascent, he heard multiple voices, confusion washing over him. he hadn’t ever seen anyone else up in the tower. he almost left when he heard your laugh. he smiled, until he listened closer and could make out the other voices.

“how am i supposed to know all this? bloody hell i can barely remember where i’ve left my wand!” weasley exclaimed, exasperated.

“ron, if you actually paid attention you wouldn’t have this problem!” granger replied.

“we’ve been studying for hours, hermione! can’t we do something else?” potter asked, clearly bored. draco had had enough. had you really taken them to your shared spot? he marched up the steps, scaring the four wizards at the top.

“how could you bring them here?” he yelled, taking you aback.

“draco, what are you talking about?” you asked, clearly confused. he looked around at the trio; at his enemies, and scoffed. he turned on his heel and stormed off down the stairs.

he could hear you chasing after him, but chose to ignore it as he ran back to his common room. just as he stopped at the portrait, a hand grabbed his arm and pulled him back, shoving him into a storage closet and closing the door behind him.

“what the hell-” he spat, before a hand covered his mouth. after a moment his eyes adjusted to the dark light in the closet and he found himself alone with you, not to his surprise.

a small blush rose to his cheeks at your proximity, but much to his delight, it was much too dark for you to notice. he quickly remembered why he was in this situation and tried to push past you, only to be pushed back.

“you’re not leaving until you answer my question. why were you so upset up in the astronomy tower?” draco looked at his feet, unable to make eye contact. “draco.” you pushed, hearing him sigh. “you can’t just ignore me-”

“fine, alright?” he cut you off, “i haven’t seen you in days y/n, you’ve been too busy studying or hanging out with.. potter.” he spat, an unusually venomous tone leaving his lips. you opened their mouth to speak, but he wasn’t finished.

“all i wanted was to spend some time with you. i searched the entire school; only to find out you’ve taken them to our spot? how could you do this to me?” he breathed, his hurt obvious, tinged with another emotion he couldn’t make out.

an awkward silence followed, neither of the two knowing what to say. “i didn’t know it meant so much to you, draco.” you started, slowly. “i really am sorry. i won’t take them up there again.” you offered an apologetic smile, and he forced a smile back, ready to leave. before he could though, you spoke again.

“you don’t have to answer, but.. may i ask why it means so much to you?” at this, draco froze. he wanted to say it was because of potter, but he knew it wasn’t true. and he knew you did too.

“well.. if you haven’t noticed, not a lot of people.. like me. they fear me. they hate me.” he spilled, avoiding meeting your gaze. “but you.. you never hated me. i may put up a strong front, but it was nice to find someone to talk to without worrying about titles, or blood status.”

you listened intently, focusing on every word. “once i saw you with potter and weasley in our spot.. it just made me feel so angry and betrayed. i don’t know.” he finished, the awkward feeling of confession weighing on him like a ton of bricks.

it was quiet, much too quiet for his liking, and he reached for the doorknob to leave. however, you took his hand in yours, and turned him to face you. you hesitated, choosing your words carefully, before you spoke. “draco, were you jealous? of me spending time with harry, ron and hermione?”

he looked you in the eyes, seeing nothing but sympathy and genuine interest, before his gaze met the floor. you sighed, grasping his chin lightly and moving his gaze to yours. “i am sorry. really. i never meant to make you feel like this. i promise i’ll make it up to you.” you smiled, and he felt himself smiling as well.

you gently opened the closet door, stepping out. you paused, turning around to face him, and in a split second, you stepped up, kissing him on the cheek. “goodnight draco.” with that, you scurried off, leaving him standing there grinning like an idiot and speechless.

he blinked, before closing the closet and going straight to his dorm. he gently touched his cheek where your lips met his skin, a soft smile plastered on his lips. one reserved just for you.

“mate, what are you smiling about?” blaise asked, a sleepy and amused expression on his face.

“nothing zabini, go back to sleep.” draco snapped jokingly, flopping down on his bed with one person on his mind. ‘y/n l/n.. what are you doing to me?’

betrayal [s.b]

word count: 1.3k

pairing: sirius black x fem!reader

warnings: none i think, mentions of lily & james. slight angst.

a/n: finally getting back into writing! wasn’t really sure how to end this one though, so let me know what you think!

request: Hey, could you please do a Sirius black imagine where he sees the reader for the first time in an order meeting after he’s escaped. And he’s shocked that she has a little girl who’s like 3 and thinks she’s with someone but he gets told that she is single and then fluff? Or something like that? (requested by anon)

-

“remus, you can’t be serious.” you squeaked, feeling your heart shatter.

“i wish i wasn’t.” he told you, tears cascading down his cheeks freely.

lily and james were dead. peter’s gone missing, and sirius was being taken to azkaban.

you felt your world fall apart in a matter of minutes, crumbling to the ground in a heap. remus tried his best to comfort you, though it didn’t do much as he was in just as much pain as you.

your best friends were dead, and the love of your life was being taken to the worst place imaginable. you were broken, and you were at a loss.

what the hell were you supposed to do now?

the reality was, you never did figure out what to do next. you fled, the pain of living in 12 grimmauld place was too much for you to cope with. you stayed with some relatives in france for the first year, before you met him.

he was kind in the start, always putting you first and before you knew it, the two of you were in love. neither of you were ready for marriage; you’d both gone through rough breakups (even though in your case, you really didn’t breakup, but sirius still held a special place in your heart) and agreed that you would wait until later on.

when you first got pregnant, nothing changed.

it was a year after your daughter was born that you noticed he began to distance himself. he went to work early every morning and stayed late every night. he began to cancel on plans, and when you confronted him, he simply left.

he left you and your daughter, and you never saw him again.

you moved into a smaller flat, just the two of you. you found comfort in her, and she understood very quickly that her father was gone. you two were content with life, that was, until two years later, when came the day you got a letter from remus requesting your assistance with the order.

the mention of the society resurfaced many old feelings, and it scared you more than anything. you didn’t know what to do, but after debating everything, you knew you couldn’t ignore it.

you packed up your daughter and all your necessities, and took the floo network back to your least favourite building; the very one you refused to stay in all those years ago.

you walked out of the chimney, quickly dusting off your daughter and setting her down, hearing some shuffling around before remus walked into the room, slightly taken aback by the sight of your 3 year-old daughter waddling around.

“she’s so big.” he said, walking over and embracing you tightly. you returned the hug, smiling brightly.

“yeah, she is.” you muttered, pulling back and glancing at her in admiration. it was only when you turned back to remus when you saw the bittersweet expression on his face. “what is it?”

“there’s..” he started, sighing deeply. “there’s something i didn’t tell you before you came, y/n.” you didn’t understand what he meant, so he beckoned you over to the living room, where sat the one person who you’d never managed to shake from your thoughts.

“sirius?” you whispered, catching his attention. time seemed to stop as you locked eyes with the love of your life, forgetting for a moment everything he’d done. he stood up, and you quickly ran into his arms, embracing him tightly.

you stood there in silence for a moment, before reality seemed to catch up to you and you pulled away, anger in your eyes. “you betrayed them!” you muttered, disgusted as you stepped away from him. hurt flashed in his eyes, as he switched his gaze towards remus with confusion.

“no, y/n-” he tried to explain, but you quickly left the room, grabbing your daughter and turning to remus.

“how dare you let me bring my child here, with someone as dangerous as him around?” you spat, and before either of them could speak, you stormed out of the building and down the familiar old roads.

“y/n! wait!” you faintly heard remus call, but you held onto your daughter firmly and kept your gaze forward. “he didn’t do it, he was framed!” he called, cause you to hesitate slightly.

you sighed, your heart grasping onto the small ounce of hope remus has bestowed upon you. “oh yeah? how’d that come about then? who killed lily and james, because they’re dead remus! nothing is going to change that; sirius wouldn’t have gone to azkaban had he not done it.” you were screaming and your daughter was crying, you no longer caring.

he’d touched a very sensitive topic, though you knew it was no easier for him. remus reached out, and you allowed him to take your daughter, him calming her tears instantly.

“it’s not safe to talk about here.” he said quietly, trying to divert the small attention your scene had caused. “go talk to him.”

you opened your mouth to protest, but were cut off. “i’ll take her to my place for now and take care of her. please y/n, at least let him explain.” knowing you couldn’t escape this, you nodded and headed back to the dreaded house.

you walked into the room, only to see sirius exactly where he was before you left, only know staring into the blazing flames of the fire. “i’m here now. care to explain?” you spoke, your voice quivering slightly.

you’d always hoped by some miracle, sirius was innocent. you knew him for as long as you can remember; you’d be friends throughout all your hogwarts years, and you were madly in love with each other.

you could never fully cope with the fact he’d betrayed james, his best friend, and lily, your best friend. it simply didn’t make sense; and even after all these years, you still couldn’t piece it together. hence why you sat across from him, and listened to his story from beginning to end.

by the end of his explanation, your head was spinning. “peter betrayed them.. he betrayed us.” you whispered, realization coming over you. you quickly put together everything; you’d not heard remus mention peter’s return once.

he was working with the dark lord. he gave up lily and james. he killed lily and james.

you felt the tears prick your eyes, and before you knew it, you were leaning into sirius, holding him tight and crying into his shoulder. as poor as the situation was, it was nice to finally be back in his arms.

you weren’t sure how long you’d been sitting there, but soon remus walked in, your sleeping daughter in his arms. you smiled at the sight of her, but felt sirius tense under you.

you turned to him confused, but he wouldn’t look you in the eyes. his eyes were trained on your daughter’s sleeping figure.

“could you lay her down somewhere?” you asked remus, softly. he nodded, leaving you and sirius alone together. “i know what you’re thinking.” you muttered, breaking the tense silence.

“what’s that, then?” he asked playfully, but there was some hurt behind his words.

“i met someone, for awhile. it didn’t last though, and i think you and i both know why.” you said, not looking at him directly.

you felt his gaze on you, “yeah? why is that?” he asked, having you sigh. you knew he was playing with you know, you could practically hear the smile he was fighting off.

“because he wasn’t you.” suddenly, he reached under your chin, pulling you to face him.

“i was hoping you’d say that.” he whispered, kissing you gently.

you felt the same butterflies in your stomach that you’d felt all those years ago, and for once since everything happened, you felt like everything was going to be okay.

request: Can you do a James Potter imagine where he was best friends with a girl for his whole life and Lily is jealous of their relationship so he breaks off their friendship, and the marauders are all super mad. And then he sees her with other people and regrets everything please? I love the imagines you’ve done so far x (requested by anon)

-

you watched him with her, sitting across from each other at the gryffindor table, laughing together. they looked happy. he looked happy. that’s all that ever mattered to you. if his happiness meant you were no longer a part of his life, you decided you could live with that.

you were only 2 years old when you met james potter for the first time. you lived in a house next to the potters, (though it was remarkably smaller, and looked quite silly next to the large manor), and your parents had decided it was time to meet your neighbors.

your parents having tea with his turned from a one-time meeting to a daily occurence, meaning you and james would spend a lot of time together. at such a young age, you were simply happy to have someone to play with, little did you know.

you were 6 years old when you made your promise to each other. the one you were sure would never break; one that would bound your friendship for life.

“james, will we always be best friends?” you asked, your big eyes sparkling with curiosity.

“of course, y/n. best friends forever.” he replied, smiling down at your smaller figure.

“pinky promise?” you stuck out your pinky; a tradition you’d learned from your muggle-born mother. this was something you’d taught james long ago, and without hesitation he’d liked his finger with yours, sealing the words you held dearly to your heart for years to come.

perhaps you were naive for thinking he’d keep those words.

you were 11 years old when you’d first stepped foot on the hogwarts train. you remember being incredibly nervous that entire morning, and james had held your hand and practically dragged you onto the train.

the two of you had found a compartment with 3 other students in your year; sirius black, severus snape, and lily evans. you didn’t recall much of what was said in that carriage, though you would never forget lily defending severus against sirius and james, or the look james gave her when she’d first snapped back at his snarky remark.

those things stuck with you, probably because they never changed; james and sirius formed an ongoing rivalry with severus, and james’ crush on lily only grew with time.

you were 15 years old when things started to change. james had always been someone who loved attention, not that it was his fault; being an only child, he was used to having a lot of it. so when he’d started showing off to lily in your first year, you weren’t surprised nor phased, because no matter what he’d always make time for you.

however, it had started to become a somewhat recurrent theme as to where he’d miss a study date, claiming he’d forgotten or where he’d be too busy to make plans.

you knew he truly was busy; he’d been extra passionate about quidditch recently, and he felt pressured to keep up his grades, so you never thought too much of it, because at the end of the day, you still hung out regularly; you had your own share of things to do, and you were content.

you were 17 years old when james had finally won lily over. in your opinion, after so long it was a little bit suspicious that suddenly she’d taken interest, but you saw how happy she made him so you kept it to yourself. you and lily got along fine as well; never having really spoken to the girl, aside having the odd casual conversation here and there. she seemed nice, from the few chats the two of you shared.

you were 17 years old when you realized that wasn’t the case.

it was about a week into their relationship when james stopped ‘forgetting’ your study dates (rather blatantly cancelling them instead) more frequently. you tried not to take it too personally; he’d finally got the attention of the girl he’d been pining after since the first year, and you figured it was best to give the two some space for the time being to settle into their relationship.

you would wait for him to come to you when he was ready.

however, time went on and james never came back; if anything, you’d found him distancing himself more and more. they were little things; certain things only his best friend would notice.

the way he nervously tugged on the edge of his robe when you’d talked, short responses during your conversations, little nervous glances when the two of you were alone together.

james had been acting very strange, and you didn’t know if this was something you should be worried about, or if it was simply a phase.

the boys had noticed his behavior as well. sirius and remus watched james practically throw you aside without a moment’s thought, simply because his new girlfriend asked him to.

they were fully aware of what the two of you had gone through together and to see him give it up for a girl who for years wouldn’t give him the time of day, had them furious. they’d tried to confront him about it, but he’d only shrugged them off, “you wouldn’t understand. you’ve never been in love.”

after a month, you barely spoke to james at all. you were hurt beyond belief, but there was no reason to dwell on the past (or so you’d been telling yourself). you’d made better friends with remus, sirius and even somewhat peter, though he didn’t talk much.

you supposed the three pitied you, and since james spent all his time with lily, they had nothing better to do. they’d told you on multiple occasions this wasn’t the case, but you didn’t fully believe them. you appreciated their company though.

slowly however, you drifted away from the four notorious gryffindors altogether. you’d found a new group; your potions partner and newfound friend, mary, had introduced you to her group and they welcome you with open arms.

mary was a ravenclaw, and it was a nice change from all the idiocy you previously surrounded yourself with. you could have intellectual conversations with your new friends and it was refreshing; you found yourself barely thinking about james at all anymore.

james was sitting across from lily at breakfast, smiling and laughing at a joke she’d made. “i’m going to head to charms early, i want to check over something for the essay before class.” she told him, standing up.

“should i come with you?” he asked, fully prepared to leave his half-full plate behind.

“it’s alright james, i’ll see you in class.” with a quick wave, lily sauntered off, leaving james to his own thoughts. he shrugged, continuing with his meal.

he glanced around, suddenly feeling bored and looked for his friends. he’d caught sight of sirius’ wild curls, and grabbed his plate, moving to sit with his friends, who all gave mixed expressions as he sat down.

“how's it going lads?” james asked, digging right back into his food as if he hadn’t sat uninvited.

he glanced around, furrowing his brows. “where’s y/n?”

sirius looked furious, remus blinked and peter dropped his fork, causing confusion and slight worry to rise in james. “why do you care where they are?” sirius snapped, taking him aback.

“what do you mean?”

the other marauders looked at james as if he’d grown another head.

“mate, you haven’t even looked at y/n in weeks.” remus said, disappointment laced obviously in his tone.

“well, lily said i spend too much time with them-”

“prongs, honestly. can’t you see what she’s doing? she’s controlling you! you left y/n without hesitation, just because lily asked? have you forgotten what they’ve done for you? all the years you spent together?” sirius spoke with a dangerously low tone, trying not to cause a scene.

james felt as though he’d been slapped in the face. “where are they?” he asked again, his voice failing him as he spoke.

sirius stood up, huffing and walking off, remus shaking his head and following behind. peter scrambled up, pausing and pointing james quickly in the direction of the ravenclaw table before scurrying off and following the other two out.

he scanned the table, clearly confused before he saw your face. you were listening intently to a story the person across from you was telling; james couldn’t see who it was because their back was to him, but the blue-clad robe had him confused. when did you make friends with a ravenclaw?

before he knew it, you burst out laughing at something your friend had said and his chest tightened. he watched your body shake with the giggles that escaped your lips, his heart growing heavy every passing moment.

sirius’ words replayed in his head. “you left y/n without hesitation, just because lily asked? have you forgotten what they’ve done for you? all the years you spent together?”.

he cared deeply about you; he never stopped caring. he wanted so bad to go up to you and apologize, but he knew what he’d done was unforgivable. he’d never even considered how you would feel when he’d left you.

he’d finally got the girl of his dreams, and yet it cost him his best friend; the only person who’d stayed with him through everything.

and the thing that was killing him the most?

was that you completely, and undeniably, looked happier.
