[ TRIGGER WARNING: ANXIETY ]
the train station was your least favourite place. you were never one for crowds, and especially not one for socialization. you wished dearly you could be like others, speak out and make friends with the children at your stops who rode the train next to you, but you couldn’t bring yourself to do it.
the overwhelming nature of your anxiety steered you away from any interactions with anyone you weren’t well acquainted with, and there were not many of those people. instead, it became routine to keep your head low, fidgeting quietly with your hands in an attempt to avoid human contact until you arrive at your stop. it wasn’t ideal, and it wasn’t pleasant, but it worked all the same.
it had been a long day at school, with exams just around the corner you decided to stay a bit later to speak one-on-one with your maths teacher. you didn’t exactly excel in the subject, but you definitely could not find it in yourself to ask questions during class.
the sole thought of speaking out brought a wave of nausea to wash over you, and you swallowed the lump in your throat. you rather opted to wrote down your ‘stupid’ questions, and saved them for the end of the day when all the students had cleared out.
you hadn’t realized just how long it was going to take however, as it was now nearly time for your regular train home to depart, and the next wouldn’t come for another hour. you briskly thanked your teacher and rushed to your locker, throwing books and pens in your bag hurriedly before zipping it up, slamming the door and practically throwing yourself outside, running as fast as you could to the nearest station, silently praying you wouldn’t miss your one-way home. you quickly descended the stairs, muttering some small “sorry”s and “excuse me!”s.
you just barely slid through the closing doors, a relieved sigh escaping your lips. your relief only lasted a matter of seconds, however, because your whole ‘scene’ had managed to attract the attention of most of the cart, and you suddenly felt very aware of their eyes on you. you stood frozen, like a deer caught in the headlights, as tears sprung to your eyes and fear suddenly consumed you. you felt like you were drowning.
you shrunk down, turning your back to the sea of students watching and hopelessly attempting to focus on your breathing, eyes screwed shut. ‘it’s fine. you’re fine.’ you repeated in your head, trying to calm down.
a tap on your shoulder had you tense up, shooting straight up and turning to see a boy standing before you, concern lacing his features. his eyes grew wider as he saw you in your full state, gently taking hold of both your hands, pulling your attention to him. “hey, hey. it’s alright. look at me.”
instead, your gaze dropped to the ground, thoughts of how embarrassing this was rushing through your head. “look at me.” he repeated, firmly. you did as you were told, tears now freely running down your cheeks and your body shaking visibly.
his gaze was soft, calming; but it was intently on you, and you only. “breathe with me.” he coached, and you tried your best to follow his movements. it took a few minutes, him soothingly coaching you through your pain and slowly, but surely, you felt your breath evening out and bit your lip, trying to halt your crying.
he reached into his jacket, pulling out a handkerchief and offering to you, which you gladly accepted, wiping your tears. the two of you stood in silence for a few moments as you cleaned yourself up, him waiting patiently for you to collect yourself.
you finally sniffled, looking up properly at your hero. he wasn’t super tall, but was taller than you with beautiful golden hair, and soft blue eyes. his eyebrows were furrowed into an expression of concern, and his lips were pursed.
he looked about your age, you decided, and you swallowed hard. this man was absolutely gorgeous, and he was kind; he took time out of his day to help you through an attack. you were speechless in every way.
you stared for a moment, realizing your actions and moving your gaze to the floor, a sudden heat rising to your cheeks. “are you alright?” he spoke softly, and looking up at his dazzling blue orbs, you shot him a very forced smile.
“yeah?” you tried to answer, but it came out as more of a question, and the crack in your voice said it all. his frown deepened, and instead of looking at him, your eyes danced around at all the unwanted eyes watching you, and you shrunk more into yourself.
the boy seemed to take notice of this, and his gaze followed yours, seeing all eyes on you. he clenched his hands into fists, surprising you. “oi, mind your business would ya?” he yelled, and in turn some murmurs were heard, before quickly, the regular sound of chatter seemed to bounce through the train and all attention from you was gone. well, almost all attention. the boy in front of you still watched you as though you were made of porcelain and could break at any given moment.
you finally felt the constricting feeling in your lungs lessen, and you looked up to your savior, his gaze intently focused on you. “thank you.” you managed, your voice quiet in contrast to the loud chatter around you, but it made the boy smile. god, his smile was even more beautiful than you would’ve thought.
“don’t thank me, i was only doing what was right. i’m peter, by the way.” he stuck out his hand politely, and hesitating, you reached out for it, shaking it.
“y/n.” maybe it was the way you were entranced by his appearance, or maybe it was the way he helped you, no questions asked, when he hadn’t even known your name. you couldn’t explain it, but this boy made you feel warm, almost safe.
you weren’t used to talking to anyone, let alone a complete stranger on the train, but there was something about him that made you want to open up to him, to get to know him.
“so, are you alright, really?” he asked, after a moment’s silence. you thought about it, and you suddenly realized since he’d found you, you hadn’t done any of the regular ticks to distract your mind of your anxiety; hair pulling, hand fidgeting, nothing. your features lit up into a proud smile, and you beamed up at peter.
“yes, actually. i think i am.” he looked a little bit confused, but smiled nonetheless, proud that he was able to comfort you.
you two chatted on for a little bit longer, before he looked behind him and saw three people looking expectantly at him, standing by the doors. the train slowed to a stop, and he sighed.
“this is my stop, i’m afraid.” you frowned at this; you didn’t want your time to end. he smiled reassuringly, “i’ll see you tomorrow, i hope?” he asked hopefully, but you heard a slight nerve to his voice, and you saw the three behind him burst into a fit of giggles.
his face reddened, and you mimicked his reassuring expression. “i’d love that.” you muttered, and with that, he waved. slipping off the train, who you would later find out to be his siblings, followed him in tow.
the loss of his presence brought back a sudden overwhelming feeling, but you closed your eyes, picturing peter and repeating his comforting words in your head, and you felt the tension in your muscles relax.
you were the next stop, you could make it. you found yourself lost in thought, and before you knew it, you were stepping off the station, head facing the ground, and making your way back to your house.
the next day, you faced the same anxious feeling suffocating you as you sat with your head leaning against the window, your bag tucked neatly under your seat. it was only when the doors to the next station opened, that your gaze turned, your eyes meeting with his beautifully blue ones. smiles illuminated both your faces, and your worry was suddenly forgotten.
and just like that, you found yourself sitting with the boy every day and night on the train, and very quickly you learned, you didn’t actually hate taking the train nearly as much as you once thought.
i’ll show you love [p.p]

living in narnia was supposed to be out of a fairytale. an escape from the war, somewhere you could feel safe and away from the troubles of your true home. for some, like the pevensies, this was how it was. they were announced as kings and queens of narnia, and each took the responsibilities with great care and precision. even little lucy knew how to properly handle her throne, after a little bit of time.
you had come with the pevensies to narnia, though you weren’t sure if it was meant to be intentional or not. you just so happened to be staying with the professor as well, as your aunt, mrs. macready, was his housekeeper. you’d been invited to play cricket with the four, and happily agreed, since you’d been the only child in the old mansion for too long.
all was going well, you all got to know each other a bit better (well, save for edmund who was pouting most of the time), until edmund hit a ball through one of professor kirke’s windows.
you all quickly ran through the house, gauging the damage when you heard footsteps approaching the five of you. you were trying to find somewhere to hide when edmund led you all to a room you’d never been in before, with a massive wardrobe in the middle.
“you’ve got to be kidding me.” peter muttered, but you all snapped your heads around to the footsteps seemingly just outside the door.
“come on!” edmund ushered, lucy following directly behind him and the three eldest, consisting of you, susan and peter followed behind hesitantly.
the next thing you knew, you were in narnia. of course, you didn't know it then, but you wouldn’t be returning home for many, many years. after the war against the white witch, the five of you were given the titles. the four pevensie siblings were crowned kings and queens, while you were titled the head knight, for your valiant efforts in the war.
you were slightly upset at first when you learned you did not have the titles the others did, but as the years passed and you watched them struggle with the most boring meetings with other lands and endless amounts of negotiating treaties, you really could not find it in yourself to be jealous of their responsibilities. you had your own and you were satisfied with your little efforts to accomplish them.
sometimes however, you felt as though you didn’t belong in narnia. sure, your job was important, but it was nothing edmund himself couldn’t handle. he had been named the best swordsmen in narnian history, and you figured they really could have done everything without you.
today in particular was one of those days where you felt nothing but sadness and insecurity; you knew you weren’t meant to be here. though you wouldn’t admit it, there was a specific reason today of all days was bad for you.
the princess of calormen was visiting to sort out trades with the kings, and you were in charge of ensuring her safety. you had only just been dismissed as she entered her meetings, and you assigned other guards to the room, stating you had important matters to deal with.
no one dared question you, and so you proceeded to your room, to be left alone. the princess was absolutely beautiful, there was no doubt in your mind.
as you’d been watching her throughout her stay, you realized how her gaze always seemed to linger on peter a bit more than others. how she’d bat her eyelashes at him and blush when he kissed the knuckles of her hand, even though edmund did the same and hadn’t had the same effect.
she fancied peter. why wouldn’t she though? he was amazing. he had a title, and so did she. he was beautiful, as was she. and as much as you wanted to dislike her, she was one of the kindest maidens you’d met over your years, and peter was one of the nicest kings narnia had ever seen. they were perfect for each other, you decided.
you and peter had had your moments from time to time; small things that others would have deemed a mutual crush. you had never truly acted on those feelings, however, as you didn’t feel you deserved him.
he was high king, you were only a knight. you weren’t the fairest in the land, hell, you probably looked like scum next to susan and lucy.
your mind drifted to the nights where you and peter would train, under the beautiful narnian sky, just the two of you and the sounds of your swords clashing. those were the times you treasured, but now, seeing as he was probably going to court the princess, you decided it was best for both of you to give each other some space.
--
it had been three days since peter last saw you. he was now bidding farewell to the princess of calormen, who they had finally come to an agreement with. it took many meetings and much convincing, but it was finally decided and now she was returning home.
he thought you were assigned to the princess, but he had been around her for long periods of time during her stay and you had suddenly been replaced with various guards. he was worried, and found his gaze dancing over the goodbye party meant for the princess, rather than focusing on the royal in front of him.
“they care about you, you know.” she spoke, bringing peter’s attention back to the princess.
“pardon me, my lady?” the princess smiled sadly.
“your head knight. i’ve seen the way they look at you, they care about you very much.” she repeated, a knowing smile on her face. “don’t let titles take away what you two have. you’re the high king, you decide what is right and what is not.”
before peter could reply, she curtsied, moving onto bid his younger brother farewell. peter processes her words, straightening his back. he would find you after the party, he was determined.
after what felt like many hours later, peter escaped the crowd, searching the ground for you.
he checked your chambers, the kitchens, the stables, and there was only one last place he thought he’d find you; the training area. he was all but running to the grounds, and upon spotting you swinging at a dummy, he called your name. “y/n!” you turned, obviously surprised, before you quickly began to pack away your things.
“sorry, your majesty. i’ll be leaving now.” you muttered, just as he was close enough to catch what you were saying.
“what? what’s with the sudden use of titles? y/n, you’ve been avoiding me all week. did i do something?” he asked, worry evident in his eyes- one that you refused to see as so. you took it as pity, and began walking away, before he firmly grasped onto your wrist, refusing to let you leave.
“talk to me.” he whispered, and you sighed.
“you should get back to the princess.” you muttered, disappointedly.
“she returned to her land.. y/n, were you jealous?” realization suddenly dawned on peter, and his eyes blew wide when you didn’t answer, only tugging at your wrist in a feeble attempt to escape him. “y/n, she was only here for business purposes-” he started, but you cut him off angrily.
“peter, she’s beautiful! she has a title, a land of her own- she can benefit you in marriage. she’s everything i’m not! you should court her.” you spat, and peter looked taken aback. he truly had no idea you felt this way, and a sudden guilt flooded him.
“do you.. do you think i haven’t courted you because of your title?” he sounded hurt, though you could hardly register it with the tears suddenly pouring down your cheeks.
“that, and look at me peter! i’m not beautiful like her! i don’t have a perfect body, just look at me! i’m hideous, you don’t have to pretend otherwise.” peter wanted to cry right there and then.
swiftly, he moved towards you, and without any warning, dipped his head down, taking your lips into a kiss filled with so much passion, your knees almost gave out. luckily, peter wrapped an arm around your waist, holding you firmly in place. he only pulled away slightly, resting his forehead against yours.
“you are more than beautiful y/n. and i’m not going to stop loving you until you realize this for yourself. there is no such thing as perfect, everyone has flaws and things they dislike about themselves. i’m going to show you what love is, if you’ll let me.” he whispered, and you were sobbing now.
you launched yourself into him, crying into his shoulder and letting him hold you. “will you let me, y/n?” he whispered in your ear, you nodding into the fabric of his tunic.
“yes, peter. i’m yours.”
“good, because i’m ready to love every single part of you.”

you had grown up in narnia, raised by beaver who took you in from a young age. you weren’t exactly sure how you ended up in narnia, but it really didn’t matter. you were a narnian; despite the fact one might see you and think you were a human.
technically, you were human, but as far as you were concerned, you identified solely as narnian. though if anyone identified you as a human, you likely wouldn’t speak otherwise.
so when the real daughters of eve and sons of adams arrived at your doorstep, you were shocked. they all looked surprised to see you, a human, in narnia; though none of them treated you as anything other than a narnian. they accepted you as you were; a loyal fighter in their army, and for that you were grateful.
you, along with the beavers, helped them escape the wolves, and soon you all found yourselves in aslan’s camp; a place filled with creatures of all sorts.
it was no shock when the white witch’s army stormed your base. you had all prepared as much as you can; weapons, armour and steeds had been distributed throughout the army.
you stood with the younger son of adam, edmund, with your bow at the ready. you nodded to him, and he nodded to his older brother. the gryphons began their attack, and the witch’s army began to attack, yours following shortly after peter’s command.
you waited patiently for edmund’s signal, before releasing the wave of arrows the lot of you had launched. you bid him a quick farewell and a quiet “stay safe, my lord” before taking off down to fight with the other narnians.
you wielded a sword well, beaver having trained you from young, knowing the prophecy would one day come true. you ran straight into battle, fighting valiantly alongside your people. you took out each attacker coming your way, but you quickly came to the realization you were severely outnumbered.
you were sure everyone around you was coming to the same realization, as everyone fought the exhaustion nipping at them and fought as hard as they could.
as the battle raged around you, the weight of the sword seemed to become heavier with every swing. you landed strong blows, though your movements were much slower than when you had started fighting. still, you refused to give into the exhaustion, seeing as no one else was; you weren’t weak, and too much was at risk to give up now.
you were starting to give into temptation, before you heard a loud roar echo across the field of battle, and briefly saw aslan tackle the white witch. a sudden adrenaline floods your system as you saw a large wave of narnians come up from where aslan once stood.
you were fighting a warrior when you heard a cry of pain, slightly distracting you for a moment and letting your guard down, when you turned, you saw a weapon aimed directly at your abdomen, seconds away from piercing your skin when you saw a figure appear from behind you, quickly stabbing your attacker and taking him down easily.
“you’d best watch yourself.” a male voice piped up, and you turned to face your saviour, when you saw stunning brown curls and big brown eyes. you blushed, opening your mouth to say something when you saw a soldier coming up behind him.
you quickly pulled out your bow and an arrow, “get down!” you told him, and he obliged, the arrow flying past where he was once stood and taking out the soldier.
subconsciously, the two of you stuck together, fighting side by side until finally, you’d won. the war was finally over, and you felt a great weight lifted off your shoulders.
you turned to your earlier saviour, only to find he was already looking at you. he seemed to be shamelessly checking you out. you suddenly felt very self-conscious, and unable to help yourself, you turned bright red. he noticed, and a prideful smile lit up his features- for what, you were unsure.
he stepped closer to you, and stuck his hand out politely. “i’m tumnus.” he introduced, and you shyly smiled at him, softly taking and shaking his hand. you glanced over his features, though you were surprisingly unphased by his legs and horns.
he was still gorgeous, you thought. “y/n.” you replied, your gaze moving to your feet.
“well y/n, it’s nice to meet you. must i say, you’re quite good with a sword.” he complimented, and your blush deepened.
“thank you.” you muttered; social situations were not your forte.
suddenly lucy came bounding from nowhere, “mr. tumnus! you’ve met y/n, aren’t they great?!” you bit your lip, embarrassed by all the sudden attention. you grew up solely with beaver and his wife, and rarely you would see badger.
you never had much social interaction outside of the dam, so this was something you were not used to, and you were slightly uncomfortable. you knew lucy meant no harm however, and tried your best to smile as convincingly as possible.
“they are great, aren’t they?” tumnus replied, using a teasing tone lucy didn’t quite catch. she giggled and nodded, before excusing herself to help the narnian soldiers with her cordial.
“she’s quite something, isn’t she?” he asked you, and you nodded.
“she’s delightful.” you replied, smiling as you watched the young girl bound from one injured to another, beaming with pride at her capability to assist.
“as are you.” he said smoothly, and you choked, taken aback by his comment. tumnus began to laugh at your state, proud at his successful attempt to make you smile. “you know, you can talk to me. i won’t bite.” he said, and though his tone was joking, you knew he was being sincere.
“sorry, i’m not really used to this whole.. socializing thing.” you replied, and though you didn’t mean it to be funny necessarily, he laughed, and you joined in, slowly feeling more comfortable with him as the time passed.
“i think you and i are going to get along very well.” he stated, and as you both exchanged smiles, you couldn’t help but agree with him. this was going to be interesting.

as king, edmund had his fair share of responsibilities. sometimes that included visiting other lands in an effort to form a treaty or a trade with those lands to help benefit narnia. usually, susan was the one to travel and negotiate with the other lands; she was much better at bartering than the rest of the pevensies.
today she was meant to visit archenland, one of the closest allies, to re-negotiate a treaty the country seemed unfair. she was ill, however, and because her trip was already planned, edmund was forced to go in her place.
he didn’t really mind the travelling; being cooped up in the castle for months at a time wasn’t healthy by any means, and he did enjoy the sight seeing he got to witness on trips like these. besides, archenland wasn’t too far of a travel, and he was sure getting out and visiting the land would be good for him.
the travels passed much quicker than he anticipated, and soon enough, he arrived at the castle.
you were in your room, preparing for the arrival of queen susan of narnia. you had met her before, and the two of you had become quite close friends. you were excited to see her again, and put on your most casual gown.
you were assigned to collect susan and bring her to her room, and help her adjust into your kingdom. though you were a princess, you told your father that you would much prefer to be the one to help and to spend time with an old friend. he hesitantly agreed, knowing you had never been one for traditional ‘princess’ stereotypes.
you glanced in the mirror, satisfied with your appearance. you skipped through the halls, eager to meet her at the entryway. “your majesty!” you heard behind you, and you turned, smiling as you saw your lady-in-waiting, hannah, running towards you.
“hannah, what have i told you about titles?” you scolded, shaking your head. she apologized, taking a second to catch her breath.
“we’ve just received word from queen susan. she will not be attending the meetings due to her being ill. instead, her younger brother, king edmund will be visiting.” she explained, and your smile dropped.
you hadn’t met edmund yet, nor any of the rest of susan’s siblings. from what she’d told you though, edmund was going to be the hardest one to impress. he took his responsibilities a little too seriously (according to susan’s exact words) and lacked having fun.
you smiled, an idea forming in your head. you were going to give him the most fun experience in archenland you could possibly give him. “thank you hannah, you’re free to go.” you dismissed her, and she gave a small curtsy before scurrying off.
you made your way through the large doors, being just in time for the arrival of the carriage the young king rode in. you took a deep breath, smiling warmly and walking over, waiting patiently for the carriage to stop and for him to exit.
after a moment, the door was opened by the driver, and you watched as the younger king stepped out, his eyes scanning the beautiful land that was your home, your jaw almost dropped.
there he stood, raven hair messily styled on his head and beautiful brown eyes that held curiosity and an air of fascination. freckles littered the bridge of his nose and cheeks, and you were sure you had never seen someone so.. beautiful. why hadn’t susan cared to mention her brother was so attractive??
you finally snapped out of your stupor as the king’s eyes finally landed on you, you throwing on a bright smile and walking over, curtsying as you arrived in front of him. “my liege. it is my greatest honour to have you visiting our kingdom.” you spoke politely, your head still bowed and hidden from sight.
“rise.” he ordered, though his tone was soft and welcoming. you did as told, the smile never once faltering.
“my name is y/n, should you need anything during your stay here, please report to me.” he nodded, reaching into the cart and handing you his bags. you blinked, but didn’t comment and took them anyways. you were sure he meant no harm by the action and figured it was better not to say anything.
you took edmund to his chambers, giving him a brief tour as you made your way through the castle. it was nothing compared to that of narnia’s (or so you assumed, based off of susan’s descriptions), though he still seemed thoroughly impressed by the architecture. you smirked proudly in front of him, your face out of view from his line of sight.
you arrived at the room he’d be staying, asking permission to enter with him; the way you’d always been taught. he allowed you to put down his bags, and you curtsied to him one final time. “i must go check on the kitchens in preparation for dinner, is there anything else i can help you with my liege?” you asked, and he only shook his head, unspeaking.
he had barely spoken a word to you since you had arrived, and you were starting to lose your endlessly happy spirit. suddenly you were very aware as to why susan spoke so lowly of her brother. you tried your best to mask your sadness and dismissed yourself politely, promising to fetch him when it came time for dinner.
you frowned the whole way to the kitchen, every passer-by looking at you in mild concern. it was rare for their princess to be caught without a smile, though no one dared approach her in fear of further upsetting her.
you arrived at your destination, checking on the catering and got a time for dinner, thanking your staff. you then carried on with your day, your mood slowly returning as you did your daily rounds of the castle. you were not going to let a stubborn teenage king ruin your spirits. no matter how cute he was.
you didn’t see the king for a few hours since you’d left him, and when the time finally came to collect him for dinner, you forced a polite smile, knocking gently. “king edmund?” you called, and he opened the door, and your heart fluttered. his hair was somehow messier, and he was rubbing his eyes tiredly. you blushed deeply as you realized he must have been sleeping. “i-i am so sorry, my liege. i didn’t mean to disturb you.” you faltered, guilt flooding you.
for once since you’d met, edmund smiled kindly at you. “it’s quite alright.” you gulped, still feeling horrible for waking him and keeping your gaze on the floor.
“hey, y/n is it? i mean it. you needn’t feel bad. i am quite hungry though, shall we head to the dining room?” he joked, and you felt your blush deepen, but it wasn’t from embarrassment.
“uh, yes. of course, right this way.” you began walking to the dining hall, edmund hot on your heels. the walk was silent, though it was mostly you scolding yourself. not necessarily for waking him up- his earlier treatment should’ve evened it out. you were upset of yourself for feeling so drawn to him.
sure, you wouldn’t deny his obvious attraction; though there was something unexplainable that had you wanting to know everything about him. maybe it was his easy change in attitude from earlier to now, maybe it was because of the stories susan had told you and your own need to find out more. maybe it was because you’d known him for so little time, and he seemed to be able to read you well (not that you were great at hiding it), and you knew nothing about him.
walking the final steps to the hall, you hesitated before turning to edmund. “fair warning, my liege. this is going to be the most boring dinner of your life.” he looked at you confused, but before he could question you, you gently pushed open the doors to the dining hall, announcing your arrival to the rest of your family and guests.
in your kingdom, when one was here for royal business, your parents and the lords of archenland ate with the guest, while the ladies and yourself ate in a separate dining room. there was no real reason- other than the fact you all got quite bored with the business chatter and you found no reason to be there.
you stood tall, straightening your back as you felt all eyes turn to you, and you smiled formally. “by honor, i give you king edmund the just, of narnia.” you curtsied once again, everyone standing and bowing/curtseying respectfully.
edmund simply waved them off, and you walked him to his seat, pulling it out and gesturing for him to sit. he seemed taken aback, but gratefully smiled at you as he sat down.
a sudden confidence overcame you and as you went to push in his chair, you bent close to his ear and only for him to hear you whispered a small “good luck” and his eyes widened at your words; though he covered it well, so it was an action for only for you to see. you gave a discreet wink, seeing a small redness rise to his cheeks before you dismissed yourself, closing the grand doors behind you.
you ate dinner much less formally, chatting with hannah and your fellow ladies; these types of dinners were the few the lot of you got to chat without the worry of titles and it was your favourite thing.
sooner than you’d liked, dinner was over and you dismissed everyone, making your way back to the dining room the great king of narnia was currently suffering in. you sit on a bench outside of the dining room, until finally the doors were opened and the king was excused.
your parents and the lords exited first, quickly dispersing in each direction. your parents bid you a quick goodnight before slipping off themselves. edmund left the dining room last, glancing around until his eyes finally found yours, and you watched as a relieved look overcame his expression.
he gently offered you a hand, surprising you; but you took it gratefully. he smiled, pulling you to your feet, and tugging you against him so his ear was against your ear, your face immediately heating up at the contact. “you know, you weren’t kidding. that was the most political dinner i’ve ever experienced.” he muttered, and a small silence followed until you burst out giggling, him following suit. you playfully pushed him away, rolling your eyes; this only sparked more laughter from the just king.
you began walking away, knowing he’d follow you. “come on, don’t be like that.” he prodded, barely making out the words between giggles. you decided to drag it out, turning around exaggeratedly with a pouty expression.
“i haven’t the slightest clue what you’re talking about.” you pursed, smirking before swiftly turning, continuing on towards his chambers. he shook his head, his laughter finally dying down and a small, amused smile rested on his lips. an idea popped into his head, and though he knew it was unkingly, at the moment, he was having too much fun to care.
he began running down the hallway, taking you surprise when he sped past you. “race you!” he called, and you gasped offendedly, taking off after him.
“this is unfair! i’m wearing heels!” you complained, though you continued to run through the corridor after him. he slowed to a stop as you finally arrived at his chambers, you not noticing and running right into him.
“woah!” he stumbled, his hands grabbing hold of your waist firmly and your hands reaching out to his chest, steadying you.
you both looked into each other’s eyes, time seeming to slow for a split second. you enjoyed the small shared moment before your position registered to both of you, blushes rising on both your cheeks before you broke apart; him letting go of your waist with an awkward cough and you taking back your arms and crossing them over your chest, rubbing one to try to distract yourself from embarrassment. “sorry.” you both stated genuinely, looking at each other.
you couldn’t help yourself, and began giggling. his expression changed to one of confusion, clearly not really understanding the humour, but secretly appreciating the sound of your laugh. “sorry, sorry.” you tried catching your breath, “it’s just, it is your fault. i told you i was wearing heels; they aren’t exactly great for running, let alone slowing down or stopping” you managed, and at this, he cracked a smile and let out a chuckle.
“my apologies, love.” he bowed dramatically, grabbing your hand and pressing a kiss to it formally, watching with a proud smirk as your face lit up bright red. “do forgive me?” he continued teasing, and you decided that you’d return the favor.
“i suppose i could do that, my king.” your tone became slightly seductive, taking edmund off guard and you quickly reached up, your lips brushing his cheek oh-so-gently. you watched as colour flooded his cheeks quickly, and you felt pride swell in you.
“well, i suppose it is getting quite late. i shall see you tomorrow, my liege.” you sent one last final wink, and still, a respectful bow, before sauntering off, edmund’s eyes never leaving your retreating figure.
you arrived at your door, sending a small look his way, seeing him watching you. you smiled, genuinely, before disappearing.
edmund finally shook his head, opening the door to his chamber and entered, his mind reeling as he undressed and changed into his nightwear. who was this woman, really, and why did she have such an effect on him?
they hadn’t even known eachother a day. a mere hour or two at most they’d spent together, and he felt something with her he hadn’t felt in a long time. he felt happy; almost like a kid again. he hadn’t felt that since they were in finchley, before the war. he shook his head; he didn’t even know you. though he surely intended to.
you weren’t much better. you couldn’t get the image of the just king out of your head. you hated formalities, and he seemed to forget all about them. you didn’t notice him address you as a royal all day, and it felt amazing.
you thought maybe, just maybe, you would find a friend in edmund, like you did susan. you longed to spend time with someone who understood you well; hannah was your lady-in-waiting and a friend, sure, but she was forced to address you as her princess.
you wanted someone who didn’t care for titles, and just maybe, edmund would be that person.

request: Hi I saw your post about requests, lately I’ve been going back into a Narnia phase myself. And so I would love a Narnia x Reader. Preferably Peter X Reader (Romance/fluff whatever you like) but if you don’t like that, it’s okay to make a Narnia X Reader. Maybe the reader can be Caspian’s Sister? Maybe Peter and the reader have been sneaking around togheter trying to keep it a secret from Caspian ‘cause they find it thrilling? If you want to make up your own story line that would be fine, Thanks

being unexpectedly woken up in the middle of the night only to find out your uncle was plotting to kill you and your brother was not how you’d expect your life to turn out. you thought your brother was going to run a happy kingdom, have a regular coronation at the age of 18 and live the life he’s always dreamed of. of course, things never quite go to plan, now did they?
that night seemed so long ago, and so much has happened since. caspian used queen susan’s horn while we were being attacked by narnians, and the next thing we knew, the kings and queens of old were stood before us, ready to help us lead this army and defeat our uncle.
aslan, how your life has changed in the matter of a few weeks. you felt a war coming, and with each passing day, fear seemed to build up within the how. that, and something else. hope. a power so great, you never could’ve imagined the strength it gave soldiers until you witnessed it first hand. and that source of hope was heading your way at this very moment.
he smiled gently, carefully looking around to ensure there were no lingering eyes, especially those of your brother. peter’s eyes sparkled as they met yours, so many mixed emotions dancing around his ocean blue orbs.
“hello there, your majesty.” you said politely, a teasing tone evident in your voice. he scoffed, rolling his eyes; a smile growing on his lips despite it all.
“hello, y/n. fancy seeing you here.” he flirted, and it was your turn to roll your eyes.
you brushed off the butterflies in your stomach as you casually asked, “care for a walk?” he nodded, and the two of you made your way to the camp borders; to a secret clearing just inside the tree line where the two of you could get some privacy.
“i’ve missed you today.” peter said, laying down on the grass, his eyes never leaving your sitting figure.
“i saw you this morning?” you laughed, quirking a brow.
peter shrugged, “yes, but caspian was there, so i couldn’t properly say good morning.” he pouted, and you shake your head, quickly rolling over and kissing him flat on the lips, taking him aback. before he could kiss back, you pulled away cheekily.
“good morning, my king.” you smiled innocently, before he quickly tackled you and littered your face with kisses. it was times like this, you felt at peace. as though you weren’t on the verge of a war that could break out at any given moment.
you were simply a girl, spending time with a not-so-simple boy, who cared deeply for you.
you wished you could act like this around the camp; spend time with the person you loved while you still had time.
you both knew peter would eventually return to his world, though neither of you tried to focus on that fact. you were living here, in the moment with each other. you treasured your time together, and especially moments like these.
it would not be an issue to associate around the camp, had it not been for your protective older brother. he barely let you leave the castle back when you weren’t being hunted, and now with the constant worry of attacks, he’d grown extra protective of you; not that you needed it. you’d been trained with a sword and in archery, and you could handle yourself.
you only feared what caspian would do to peter if he found out. the two already weren’t on the best of terms after everything that had happened during the raid on the telmarine castle, pitting the blames on each other and practically forming a war between the two royals. it was unnecessary and frankly, you found it quite childish.
you never spoke out about it though; you cared about both of them, and decided to stay quiet during the whole ordeal. though they finally managed to sort their differences (with a bit of help from you), they were constantly on thin ice with each other, and you didn’t feel the need to test the waters on the situation if you didn’t have to.
besides, you and peter made it a bit of a game, teasing each other frequently and trying not to get caught. it was thrilling.
as the two of you switched to a more comfortable position with you sitting sideways on peter’s lap with your head on his shoulder, you were completely oblivious to the pair of eyes watching you intently.
caspian watched as his little sister talked freely with the high king, him gently twirling a lock of her hair between his fingers as she played with the fabric of his tunic. he had never seen her so at peace and genuinely happy since their father died.
a pang of sadness washed over him as he turned away from the obvious couple. why hadn’t she told him? they were siblings after all, he should know these things. he decided to leave the two alone for now, and figured he would confront her later.
the two didn’t return to the camp for a long while, until they decided it might be suspicious for the high king and the princess to disappear for so long. you shared one last passionate kiss before breaking off, you sliding into your shared tent of you, susan and lucy and peter heading off elsewhere; probably to the stone table.
you lay in your tent for a few minutes before deciding to train a bit more. you grabbed your bow and quiver, finding it much too risky to put your energy into sword-fighting when you could very well need it in a matter of hours.
you headed over to the archery targets where susan was practicing, asking for permission to join and the two of you chatted, both hitting target after target flawlessly.
“y/n! there you are.” you heard the voice of your brother, and you turned with a smile, only to see an uneasy expression on his face, which he so desperately tried to hide. you knew him however, and this was all some facade; something was wrong.
“is everything alright?” you immediately responded, susan looking slightly confused before shrugging and leaving the two of you alone, clearly sensing the two of you needed to speak privately.
“i thought it was.” caspian stated, emotionlessly. you blinked, tilting your head.
“okay? is it not? you’re not exactly making sense.” you chuckled nervously, and caspian sighed.
he turned his head, his vision set somewhere in particular. you confusedly followed his gaze, all colour in your face seemingly draining as you saw what, or who exactly, he was looking at. peter.
caspian turned back to you, quirking a brow. “care to explain?” he asked, and you allowed your gaze drop to the floor. you stayed silent, slightly nervous for his response. he didn’t seem furious, which you supposed was already a step up from what you’d expected, but you most definitely weren’t prepared for what he said next.
“why didn’t you tell me?” his words were no more than a whisper, sounding incredibly hurt. the tone in his voice caused you to take a step back, lifting your eyes to look at his matching dark ones, only to see in fact, nothing but sadness and regret.
guilt swarmed your being, and you hang your head once again, now in shame. “cas, i-”
“did i do something wrong, y/n? i’m your brother. we’re not supposed to have secrets- especially not like this!” he wasn’t shouting, but he wasn’t exactly being quiet either.
you’d caught the attention of susan and edmund, who both tried to usher away the small group of narnians who began watching your conversation. you made a mental note to thank them later.
“caspian, it’s not like that.” you stated, though you knew it was. there was no other excuse you could come up with. he gave you a look, and you sighed in defeat. “i- i don’t know! you and peter don’t exactly have the best history, caspian! i didn’t want to start another conflict between the two of you- i thought if you found out he was seeing your little sister, you might lash out!” you were distressed, and caspian sighed, opening his arms out for a hug, which you gratefully fell into.
you didn’t realize you were crying until you saw the stains marked on your brother’s tunic. “i really like him caspian.” you muttered, and he smiled, despite you not being able to see.
“i know.” he replied, brushing down your hair soothingly.
finally, you pulled apart, and you looked up at caspian. “no.. i really, really like him. i think i might love him.” you said, and caspian’s eyes blew wide at your confession.
“you haven’t even known him a month!” he exclaimed; it wasn’t judging, just pure confusion.
“i know, i know. there’s just something about him, cas. he’s not like any other princes i’ve courted, i’ve never felt what i feel for him with anyone else.” you admitted, and you felt a weight lifted off your shoulders. it felt good to finally talk to your brother about your feelings.
his eyes drifted behind you, and he gave you an awkward smile, before patting your shoulder and walking off. you were confused, until you heard someone clear their throat.
you tensed, knowing exactly who it was without having to turn around. “how much of that did you hear?” you cut to the chase, feeling the heat rise to your cheeks.
“all of it?” he answered slightly guiltily, but there was no regret in his voice. “y/n, look at me.” he whispered, and you realized he was much closer than you thought he was.
you did, slowly, and titled your head up to meet his intense gaze. “why didn’t you tell me?” you chuckled at peter’s choice of words.
“you know, my brother asked me the same question not ten minutes ago.” you joked, and peter had a small smile on his face, shaking his head.
he turned serious after your giggles died down, and you sighed. “how was i supposed to tell you? caspian’s right, we’ve only known each other for a number of weeks. yes, they’ve been the best weeks of my life, and i couldn’t see myself with anyone else, but i didn’t want to scare you away with the whole ‘i love you’ thing.” you rambled, and only stopped when peter gently put a finger to your lips, effectively silencing you.
“i love you too.” he said simply, and you felt the air leaving your lungs.
“p-pardon?” you sputtered, and peter laughed, leaning in and taking your lips in a passionate kiss. you two stayed in that position, until the lack of oxygen overpowered you both, and you leaned your foreheads against each other.
“should we tell your siblings too, then?” you asked, and peter shrugged, taking your hand into his and walking towards his siblings, who were now in a conversation with caspian.
“hey guys, we have something to tell you.” you started, brushing a nervous strand of hair behind your ear. the pevensies and caspian turned to you, looking at you with furrowed brows.
“we’re courting.” peter announced, raising your interlocked hands. the three blinked, almost in denial. they all gave each other disbelieving looks, then burst out laughing.
“what?” you asked, shyly.
“it’s just- we’ve known for awhile.” susan managed, between laughs.
“you guys are absolutely awful at hiding it.” lucy chirped, and you and peter blushed.
“honestly, caspian. i don’t know how you didn’t see it before. they’re practically undressing each other with their eyes every time they’re around each other.” edmund quipped, earning a collective gasp from the group.
“edmund, i’m going to kill you!” you frowned. ed smirked, sending a wink your way before running, with both peter and caspian chasing him, ready to take his head off. you were blushing bright red, and susan and lucy laughed.
“we are happy for you, y/n.” lucy assured, and you smiled in gratitude.
“truly, i haven’t seen peter this happy since we were children.” susan told you, and your heart fluttered. your eyes followed the retreating figures of peter and caspian, the two most important boys in your life, and you couldn’t help but wear the brightest smile while you spoke.
“i don’t think i even truly knew happiness before i met him.”
life was not perfect, nor was it ever simple. no matter what happened, whatever life threw at you, you would be ready to face it, with peter by your side.

you loved the holidays, it has been your favourite time of year for as long as you can remember. college was much more draining than you anticipated, and it was really beginning to weigh you down. the only thing that had been keeping you going was the excitement of returning to your family and relaxing for the next few weeks.
nothing was ever that simple, though. your flight home had been cancelled due to weather. thankfully, you were still with edmund, your best friend, when you got the notification. he insisted you stay with him and his family, and you after much argument, you gave in.
you were nervous walking up the steps to the pevensie household, edmund had told you his two sisters and parents were already expecting them, and that his brother should be home later.
you followed edmund through the front door, hearing a mass of footsteps rush towards you. you saw a younger girl come embrace edmund, and he returned it, greeting his family all with hugs and smiles. you felt as though you were intruding, and nervously shifted from foot to foot.
you seemed to catch the attention of the youngest girl, whom you recalled was named lucy, and she made her way over to you, catching you off guard when she threw her arms around you and embraced you tightly.
“you must be y/n! edmund has told us so much about you!” she exclaimed, and you smiled.
“has he now?” you teased, and edmund rolled his eyes, knowing he’d never live down his sister’s words.
“thanks lu.” he grumbled, and a laugh erupted throughout the group, making you feel more at home than you could’ve thought possible.
you spent the afternoon getting to know the pevensies, and you realized why edmund spoke so highly of them all. they were all so sweet and welcoming, though you did wonder how it would be to meet edmund’s brother.
ed tried to avoid the topic of him generally, saying briefly that him and his brother had a much more complex and competitive relationship. from the way the other pevensies had casually thrown warnings around at the mention of the eldest child, you assumed he must not have been the most well-behaved of the family.
you were joyfully sipping on a cup of hot chocolate chatting with lucy and susan when the door swung open, making you jump a little at the unexpected noise. your heads snapped to the entrance area, susan shaking her head and lucy jumping up to greet who you assumed to be peter.
“honestly, he hasn’t even been here five minutes and he’s already being incredibly loud!” susan huffed, causing you to giggle.
“he’s that bad, huh?” you asked, and susan opened her mouth to reply when you were interrupted by lucy re-entering the room, a tall blonde boy following her. susan stood to greet him, scolding him for his obnoxious actions all the while.
you took the time to study his features. he was broad, muscular. he had a defined jawline and beautiful blue eyes. his hair was a beautiful golden colour and looked fluffy, and you had a strange urge to run your fingers through it.
you snapped out of your daze when he turned to you, and you felt a small blush rise to your cheeks as he looked you up and down not-so-subtly.
“and who might you be?” he asked, his voice slightly teasing. you opened your mouth to reply when edmund came into the room and interrupted.
“this is y/n. stay away from her.” he said simply, taking your wrist and pulling you out of the room. you blinked in surprise, but didn’t argue. you simply let him guide you away from the beautiful man in the main area.
he turned to you, seeing the dazed look in your eye and frowning. “no. absolutely not.” you furrowed your brow, and he sighed. “you have that look in your eyes. you cannot fancy my brother! that’s just weird!” he whined, and you laughed, shaking your head.
“cmon ed. sure, he’s attractive. you know me too well, i can’t lie. but he is your brother, and i won’t do that to you.” you told him genuinely, and he smiled, pulling you into a hug. “but if you were jealous, you could’ve just said so.” you teased, and edmund huffed.
“please. you know who i fancy, and it’s definitely not you.” he shot, and you threw a hand over your heart, feigning hurt and shock.
“edmund pevensie, you’ve wounded me. how shall i ever heal from this?” you mocked, and the two of you burst into a fit of giggles. you were so lost in your own world you didn’t notice the pair of blue eyes trained on your figure.
“you know, if you stare any longer it will start to get weird.” lucy came up behind him, startling peter. he opened his mouth to defend himself, but closed it again and shook his head, walking into the kitchen to help prepare dinner without another word. lucy shrugged to herself, not bothering to further question her eldest brother.
you sat next to edmund at the dinner table, playfully bantering back and forth. you two were basically off in your own little world, though you did chat with his parents and sisters here and there when asked a question or when the conversation drifted to something of interest to you.
you had hardly spoken a word to peter, however, as he was being quite quiet - something you definitely weren’t expecting from edmund’s stories.
the night progressed quickly after that, and everyone gathered for a movie in the main area after all was settled. you were in charge of getting drinks, while edmund was getting snacks. you were carefully bringing each drink to the designated person, knowing how likely you were to trip.
after a few successful attempts of bringing drinks, you gained confidence, and were striding over to peter, who was completely distracted, lost in a conversation with lucy. his side profile was beautiful, you thought.
in processing said thought, you missed the sight of the carpet slightly rolled and caught your foot, sending you tumbling to the ground and the fizzy drink to spill all over you.
the pevensies were shocked by the sudden motion, but lucy quickly jumped up, checking to see if you were okay. edmund came running in the door upon hearing the small bang, and looked down, only to see you lying on the floor and being helped up by his younger sister.
he burst into laughter, your face reddening even more in embarrassment. you glanced to the other pevensies, to see them all trying to hold down their laughter. especially the boy who made you trip in the first place. you sighed, exasperated.
“gosh, ed. if you’d told me your family were all just like you, i never would have agreed to come.” you mumbled, and at that comment, none of the pevensies could contain their laughter any longer.
you rolled your eyes jokingly, but smiled all the same as the sound of edmund’s whining filled your ears. your eyes met peters, and despite the amusing expression on his face, he gave you a genuine smile.
you weren’t sure how he knew, but you heard edmund huff - only loud enough for you to hear, you were sure - before he began to shake his head, grumbling.
“peter, would you mind showing her my room so she can change while i finish getting the snacks?” edmund asked, and you blinked in surprise. surely, he wasn’t doing what you knew he was? after a small questioning glance his way, he sent you a knowing look, before disappearing off into the kitchen.
peter stood, motioning for you to follow him. you did so, and only when you reached edmund’s room did you notice how awkward the silence lingering between the two of you had been. “thanks.” you said, and he nodded, turning to leave you.
your heart dropped a bit, and you figured you might as well speak now rather than never. “you know..” you started, catching his attention. “from the way edmund speaks of you, i thought you’d be much more fun.” you pouted playfully, and you watched as peter’s entire demeanor changed.
“oh really? i didn’t expect my brother to speak so highly of me.” he fired back, and you smirked, leaning against the frame of edmund’s door.
“on occasion he does. though, now that you mention it, it is quite a rare occurrence.” you were having fun with this now, and peter seemed to think before slightly retreating backwards, his smirk falling to a frown.
“i hope he isn’t talking me up too much to his girlfriend.” he practically spat the last word, causing you to blink in thought. girlfriend? you took a minute to process, and suddenly everything made sense.
“-wait, do you think edmund and i are dating?!” your face morphed into one of mock disgust, and he frowned.
“you’re not?” his ears began to turn to a light pink shade, his confusion and embarrassment clear as day.
“no - he’s my best friend. i would trust him with my life if it came down to it, but i don't think i could ever see him as anything more than that.” you told him truthfully, and peter seemed to contemplate this for a moment.
“well, that’s good to know i suppose. makes me feel better.” he responded thoughtfully, and you quirked a brow.
“why’s that make you feel better exactly?” you quipped, and he smirked.
“i would’ve felt terrible fancying my brother’s girlfriend.” he winked, and without another word, turned and left you standing in edmund’s doorway, your thoughts running wild. you were sure by now you were blushing madly, and heard footsteps thundering up the steps shortly after.
“y/n, what the hell is taking you so long?” edmund huffed, and upon seeing your red cheeks and distant expression, he gave you a look. “hurry up, my brother isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. i’m sure you’ll get in his pants before you know it.” your jaw dropped open, and you reached inside his room, grabbing the nearest object - which happened to be a book - and throwing it at his head.
“it is a miracle i haven’t killed you yet, edmund pevensie.” you stated, going to close his bedroom door to finally change your drink-stained shirt.
“yes, yes. you love me. now hurry up, you’re taking forever.” you stuck your tongue out at him, and shut the door fully, a smile present on your face as you changed your clothes.
this wasn’t exactly the holiday season you were expecting, but you were suddenly very happy with how things turned out, and you were excited to see what would come next of your stay at the pevensie household. you did know one thing for sure - this was going to be a break you would remember forever, and you couldn’t wait to see what tomorrow would have in store.

you sat in the gardens of the castle, on a bench placed next to the intricate fountain that complimented the assortment of greenery that surrounded you. you were deep in thought, a frown etched on your face, not a single trace of happiness found in your expression. you were tired of being a waste of space.
back in england, you were a nobody. you were a number amongst the crowd of children. no friends at school, no siblings. sure, there was the occasional person who took pity on you and chatted for awhile, but they never stuck.
your parents were never around - your father was fighting in the war, and your mother missed him so much, she was either always out with friends to distract herself, or drinking away her sorrows. you were alone, in every sense of the word.
until one day, you had hope that would change.
you’d been walking home from school one day, when you decided you were feeling adventurous and took the long way home. you were walking through a park, which at this time, was nearly empty, save for the old couple strolling around casually. you were crossing the small bridge when you heard splashing in the water, and you looked over the edge of the bridge, only to see the water shoot up and engulf you completely.
you suddenly felt your weight being lifted, and your eyes shot open, only to see you fully submerged in a body of water. you swam to the surface, confusion washing over you when you saw that you were no longer at the park, but on a beach. one you had never seen before.
confusedly, you swam to the shore, only to be met with an even more beautiful view. atop the hills, an extravagant castle sat perched above the waters, and your awe was quick to turn to confusion. where the hell were you?
the sound of rushed hooves against the sand snapped you out of your thoughts, and you cowered upon seeing the target destination was none other than yourself. you froze as the horse slowed to a stop, turning so that the rider could get a good look at you.
you took in a sharp breath as the boy looked you up and down, and frowned. he looked about your age, and boy, was he gorgeous. a mop of messy raven hair dripping small droplets of water every few seconds, beautiful brown eyes that seemed to sparkle in the sun and clothing that seemed perfectly tailored to his body type.
“you’re a human.” he stated, and you had never been more confused in your life. had you hit your head? you didn’t remember, but surely it was possible - you must’ve been dreaming. you saw the boy looked expectantly at you, and he quirked a brow at you. you swallowed thickly, a sudden sinking feeling swarming you.
“are you not?” you quipped, trying to sound confident and failing miserably. he sighed, muttering something under his breath. he looked around him, and upon seeing you two were the only ones on the beach, his eyes widened and realization seemed to wash over him.
“did you- did you come out of the ocean?” he asked, and you only nodded slowly in response. he sucked in a breath, before reaching a hand out to you. “come with me.” he all but demanded, and you were too scared to deny his authoritative tone. it wasn’t like you have anywhere else to go - and besides, it was only a dream. right?
wrong. turns out, you definitely weren’t dreaming. narnia was very real. shortly after you’d mounted the boy’s steed, he’d taken you to the beautiful castle - cair paravel, he’d called it - to meet his siblings. you found out he was a king, ruling alongside his sisters and his brother, the high king. they had told you the stories of their lives prior to narnia, and told you of their time here.
“aslan is the true king of narnia,” peter explained, a distant smile on his face, reminiscing the days spent with the great lion. “he controls who comes in and out of this world. he brought us here to help with the war against the white witch.” you listened intently, hanging onto his every word.
“if aslan brought you here, he must have a reason. no one comes here without a purpose.” he smiled kindly at you, and for once, you were hopeful you’d found somewhere you belonged.
that was months ago, however, and you had not since met aslan, nor found any purpose for your stay in the beautiful land. you promised yourself you wouldn’t force your place in cair paravel, though it was getting harder and harder each passing day to ignore the pang of guilt in your chest.
the pevensies were some of the kindest people you’d ever met, and were very patient with you. they considered you a friend; or so they’d told you. you didn’t know how honest that was, though you’d appreciated the sentiment.
truth was, friend or not, you did not belong in the castle. the pevensies were siblings, close as could be, and though they considered you just as much royal as themselves, you were not. they had duties, and were constantly chatting about them - you typically sitting in silence as they conversed happily.
you may have been a ‘daughter of eve’ as they’d claimed - which in their eyes made you their equal - but to yourself, you were still just a waste of space. and that’s all you’d ever be.
you had had enough on this particular night, and decided to distance yourself. you skipped dinner, instead spending the night gazing lovingly at the beautiful narnian sky. you figured they wouldn’t miss you too much; they were only nice because they felt they had to be.
why would anyone willingly be friends with you? it’s never happened before, so why should you believe this time was any different?
a defeated sigh escaped your lips, you leaning forward to bury your face in your hands. you peaked through your fingers, looking up at the sky. “aslan, if you’re out there..” you began to whisper, feeling very vulnerable. “could you just give me some sort of sign? some reason for being here..” your voice cracked, and a tear slipped down your cheek. you let the tears flow freely after that, no longer caring.
little did you know, one of the pevensie siblings had missed your presence at dinner, and had immediately set off to find you, a small basket of food for you held tightly in his grasp. he had never seen you skip a meal, and he was worried.
he had searched the entire castle, he was sure, until he caught sight of the beautiful red gown susan had lent you blowing softly in the slight narnian breeze. a relieved smile took over his expression as he stepped outside, but he frowned as he heard your broken voice speaking freely into the wind.
he hadn’t meant to intrude, or hear your words. but he had - and his heart panged at the thought of you feeling so alone.
when he’d heard you start to cry, he sucked in a deep breath, and made himself known. he very slowly approached you, careful not to startle you in this state. he lowered himself gently onto the bench next to you, waiting for you to acknowledge his presence when you felt comfortable.
you felt the weight of the bench shift, and you had a sinking feeling you knew exactly who it was. you didn’t even bother trying to stop your crying at this point, he already saw you like this.
“you don’t have to stay you know.” you sniffled, shifting so you were turned away from him. you felt his intense gaze on you, and you sighed, wiping stray tears. “i know you’re here because you pity me. not because you care.” you muttered, your breath beginning to even out.
edmund sat shocked by your statements, blinking rapidly in an effort to process them. “you think really think that we- that i don’t care?” he asked, his eyes and tone disbelieving. you flinched slightly at his shock, and cowered back into yourself.
“y/n, look at me.” he said gently, and despite your better judgement, you listened and did as told. his eyes were gazing fiercely into your own, trying to convey his honesty through to you. “i have never lied to you about our friendship. i genuinely enjoy your company, as do my siblings. you belong here, y/n. i don’t care if you think so or not. sometimes aslan doesn’t always make things crystal clear - though he knows what he’s doing. he doesn’t make mistakes.”
you smiled sadly, his words comforting you, though you still had doubts. it wasn’t edmund’s fault, you’d spent so many years alone it was your initial instinct.
“if anything,” edmund spoke again, though he seemed to hesitate. “i’m glad you were brought here.” he avoided your gaze at these words, though you were sure he could sense your questioning gaze.
“you know, i don’t exactly fit in with my siblings. i’ve made mistakes, y/n. when i was younger, i did some really stupid things and put them in danger. they tell me they’ve forgiven me, but i still haven’t forgiven myself. they’ll always see me as a traitor. you being here, however, has made me feel less lonely than i have in years. so if anything, i have aslan to thank. i needed you, and i didn’t even know it until i had you.”
you were speechless. you had no idea he’d felt that way, and suddenly, your worries melted away. edmund cared about you, a lot. and you cared for him just as much. in the spur of emotions, you very quickly leaned forward, tugging his chin to face you and pressing your lips to his without warning. he hesitated, causing you to panic slightly, before you felt him returning the kiss and grasping your hips gently.
you pulled away, burying your head in his chest as you pulled him into a tight hug. you felt his arms slowly wrap around you, and felt him let out a shaky breath. “i need you too.” you whispered, and he gently rested his chin atop your head.
the two of you sat in a comfortable silence, enjoying the feeling of each other’s arms wrapped around the other. for once, the two of you felt complete. for a moment, you were no longer the invisible girl from london, and he was no longer the king with the dark past. you were simply two people, filling the gaping hole of loneliness in each other’s hearts.
and for once in your life, you felt like you had found your purpose.

the first time peter heard the voice, he thought it was the most beautiful thing he’d ever heard. it was intoxicating. he followed the sound to an open window of the school a block away from his own. though he was unable to see the source of the sound, he listened intently, captivated. much to his dismay, he had to leave to catch the train home.
the mesmerizing voice never truly left his mind, though.
the following days, he decided to take the longer route to the station, which conveniently passed the all girls school, in hopes of hearing the voice again. he succeeded most days, strolling past casually and hearing bits and pieces of various songs. he was completely entranced by it.
he didn’t see the girl behind the angelic sound until the end of the week.
imagine the shock he experienced when he saw that the person the voice he’d been so hypnotized by was coming from was extremely beautiful.
out of curiosity, he’d managed to snag a peek into the open window, at the mysterious girl. she was clad in a red uniform; much like susan and lucy’s, which made sense - since she attended the same school. from what he could see, he thought she was very pretty.
he thought you were very pretty.
he didn’t know anything about you, but after that day, he couldn’t get you out of his head. he felt an overwhelming urge to try to talk to you, but he didn’t even know your name. he considered waiting outside of the school until the end of your rehearsal one night, but then decided that was much too strange and he would rather not come off as a creep.
instead, he thought it was best he distanced himself from you. hell, you didn’t even know he existed and yet, you were all he could think about. and it definitely wasn’t healthy. he began re-taking his old route to the station. it was a shorter distance anyways.
peter longed to hear you sing again. he couldn’t explain it, but he felt an undeniable connection to you. he scolded himself for it, and he tried to convince himself he didn’t need you, but as the days passed, the harder it was to ignore the longing he felt.
he was distractedly thinking of you (unsurprisingly) when a boy came and knocked into him quite harshly. he blinked, looking up at the brooding boy, who towered over him, squaring his shoulders in an attempt to intimidate peter, his friends following suit almost immediately.
peter was unphased. he’d seen so much worse during his days in narnia, he could handle a couple of teenagers. “apologize.” one of his friends spat, and the next thing peter knew, he was in the middle of a full-fledged fight. he was swinging punches and being tossed around, kicking and hitting any target in his range recklessly.
now he was now pacing angrily, being lectured by susan. he wasn’t really listening to her, but he was briefly aware of her going on about how he needs to behave better. peter never understood why she acted as she did, as if she was an adult. aslan had promised their return one day. sure, maybe it had been over a year, but the other pevensies were still as restless as ever to get back to narnia.
then there was susan, who was content with life in england, and peter couldn’t fathom how. they had been literal kings and queens and had lived many years in narnia and then out of nowhere, with no warning whatsoever, they were sent back to the place they so dearly hated. how any of it was okay with susan, he would never know.
he snapped back into the conversation when susan finished with an eye roll. “don’t you ever get tired of being treated like a kid?” he asked, ludicrously.
“we are kids.” edmund answered sarcastically, and peter rolled his eyes. he loved his brother, he really did; but sometimes he was truly a pain in his ass.
“well i wasn’t always.” peter’s reply carried a wave of silence over the four siblings, each of their thoughts drifting to the world they longed to see at least once more. their real home.
“it’s been a year. how long does he expect us to wait?” he huffed, falling back into the seat between his sister and edmund. he leaned back against the wall, closing his eyes.
susan went to speak, but was interrupted by a soft voice calling her name. “susan!” you smiled, all but skipping over to her and her company. “you forgot your papers, and i knew we took the same train, so i - well, i brought them for you!” your words were slightly nervous, but susan thanked you kindly with a bright smile of her own.
peter sat upright, in a state of shock. it was you; the girl in the window. the girl with the incomparable voice. not only because you stood before him, and he had never seen you outside of the school, but you had known his sister? and you took the same train as them? his mind was racing with confusion, though he quickly brushed it off as susan turned to her siblings, stepping aside so they could see you.
“this is y/n, she’s my friend with impeccable talent i’m always telling you guys about!” susan beamed, and your face turned a dark shade of pink. peter thought his heart might explode at how cute you were. “y/n, these are my brothers, edmund and peter, and you already know lucy.” she introduced. lucy and edmund exchanged brief hellos, and peter nodded in acknowledgement, not trusting his words.
you opened your mouth to speak, though you jumped a bit when lucy let out a high pitch squeal. “ouch!” her siblings were quick to shush her, all a bit taken aback by her sudden actions. “something pinched me!”
“stop pulling!” peter jumped up, and edmund looked at him, brows furrowed in a defensive matter.
“i’m not touching you!”
“would you all just-” susan tried, but your gaze snapped to the train accelerating at a tremendous speed next to you, baffled.
“what is that? what’s going on?” you asked, receiving no answers. you watched as the four siblings exchanged a knowing glance, and nerves flooded your being. they were being eerily calm about all of this.
“it feels like magic.” you could’ve sworn you heard lucy say, though over the sound of the speeding train you couldn’t be certain. magic?
before you could question further, susan spoke. “quick, everyone hold hands.” she reached out to you, grabbing a tight hold of your hand. you didn’t even question it - you were in too much of a state of shock to argue otherwise.
you listened to the pevensies bicker a little while longer while your eyes flicked to your left, where everyone else seemed to continue on with their days as if a train wasn’t going five times the speed of a normal train should, and there weren't any papers being thrown left and right around you.
the next thing you knew, the building around you was crumbling and fading into nothing. something about all of this was strangely calming. maybe it was the way the pevensies showed no sign of fear, only happiness; or maybe it was because deep down, you had a feeling this was right.
you soon find yourself in a cave overlooking a beautiful blue ocean, unlike anything you’d ever seen before. it was straight out of a book, down to every detail. you were sure you were dreaming. you stood frozen in amazement, until you felt susan gently tugging your hand, only to realize the four siblings had began stripping their extra layers and were running directly for the water. carelessly, you shrugged and followed suit.
--
you smiled fondly at the memory, sucking in a deep breath. the fresh air felt cool against your throat, and you couldn’t help but feel absolutely at peace as you overlooked the unforgettable sight you met when you’d first arrived.
you stood on a balcony, in the newly rebuilt cair paravel. so much has happened since that first day on the beach, and you were still unbelieving of it all. though as overwhelming as it was, narnia had become a safe place for you. a dreadful feeling that it would all be soon over lingered in the back of your mind, but you decided you were going to live the time you had here to the fullest.
you were so deep in your own thoughts, you didn’t even completely register that you started to sing quietly. as you began to get lost in the song, you gradually sang louder, feeling more and more free with every passing verse. you dreamily leaned against the bannister, singing to your heart’s content.
peter had been looking for you, and when he was passing a certain hallway, a beautiful melody bounced off the walls and filled his ears. he smiled, the voice now all too familiar to him. he followed the song, leaning casually against the doorframe, watching your small figure. the sunset illuminated your already perfect features, casting you in a heavenly glow.
you and peter had grown quite close over your stay in narnia. when you’d first arrived, you’d obviously had many questions - and peter had taken the liberty to fill you in on their lives in the golden age. he was always so happy to talk about narnia freely, and you were a great listener. he hadn’t ever felt so close with anyone other than his siblings, it felt amazing to share his other life with someone new.
“that was beautiful.” he spoke when you’d finished, and you jumped, surprised by his presence. you threw a hand over your heart dramatically, laughing nervously.
“oh my goodness, peter. you’ve nearly given me a heart attack.” you shake your head, as he grinned boyishly. the act made your heart flutter.
“you know, you really are an incredibly talented singer. you should do it more often - in front of people, even. i’m sure everyone would love to hear your voice.” peter complimented, pushing off the wall and walking over to you, so you were only a few steps from standing chest-to-chest.
“yes, well.. it’s not that i’m opposed to performing, i suppose i just don’t think i’m all that good. i know girls at our school who are much better than i am.” you shrugged, and peter nearly choked.
“are you kidding, y/n? i have never heard anyone sing like you do. your voice really is special - i’m sure the girls at your school couldn’t even compare.” peter spoke seriously, looking deep in your eyes. “and maybe i'm being a bit biased, but-”
you held a hand up, giggling quietly at his rambling. he looked a bit confused, but brushed it off. seeing you happy was more than enough for him. “thank you, peter. really. it means a lot.” you blushed a bit at your own words, and peter couldn’t restrain himself from reaching out a tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
you looked up at him through your eyelashes, a mixture of happiness and surprise in your gaze. he took it as an okay, leaning forward and pressing his lips to yours with no further hesitation. you responded immediately.
you couldn’t explain it, but something about being in this moment, with peter, felt more at home than anything you’d ever experienced. it felt so right, standing with his arms wrapped tightly around your waist, and yours locked around his neck.
when oxygen was necessary, you two only pulled away enough to rest your foreheads against one another.
“you know, this is going to be my last time here.” peter whispered, and you smiled sadly at him. you knew how much this world meant to him, and you could tell by his expression he was struggling to accept it. “it’s not what i really wanted - but i’m really glad i got to share it with you.” his words were sincere, and your heart fluttered.
you glanced down at your hands, gently entwining your fingers with his own. “it’s not going to be easy to let go.” you spoke softly, only loud enough for him to hear. “but i’m going to be there for you, to help you get through this. i don’t want to leave either, but some things we can’t control. trust me, we’ll get through it - together.”
you didn’t know then how much your words meant to peter. coming back from narnia once was hard enough, and now knowing he would never again see his kingdom hurt more than he thought it would. still, your words were enough to make him smile, despite it all.
he didn’t know what brought him to take that longer route that day after school, but he had never been more grateful for the decision he’d made. maybe it wasn’t him after all. maybe fate had brought him to you. it didn’t matter, really. because he knew one thing for sure.
he knew he was going to be okay.
because of you, the girl with the angelic voice.

*italics are the past.*
you sat in the silence of the library, book in hand, trying to pull your thoughts away from your breaking heart. you should’ve known better than to assume peter would take the day off to celebrate with you, he was the high king after all.
he was always busy, what possibly made you think today would be any different?
when you’d woken up that morning, peter had already been gone. you laid in bed for twenty minutes, hoping he’d eventually come to see you and wish you a happy birthday, but you were let down as he didn’t return to your shared room.
when you’d finally dressed and proceeded down to breakfast, he was nowhere to be found either. his siblings all smiled at you, though none acknowledged the importance of the date.
you’d asked edmund where peter was, and he’d brushed you off saying he had a meeting. you forced a smile and pretended as though they hadn’t forgotten anything, though inside you felt like you’d been stabbed in the heart.
so now, staring at the blurred text of the novel you were trying to read, you groaned in frustration and tossed it to the side.
you finally gave into the dread filling you, letting the tears fall freely, tugging your knees to your chest. you loved the peace of the library, and it had become a safe place for you.
only you and edmund truly ever came here and he had told you earlier he’d be busy all day with his duties, so you weren’t worried about being caught.
you couldn’t be bothered to contain your sobs. you couldn’t believe not one of them remembered your birthday.
you didn’t want to make a huge deal about the day anyways, you really weren’t one for large parties. a simple wish would’ve been nice from at least one of the pevensies, and one of them in particular would’ve been more than enough.
ever since you’d arrived in narnia, the four had taken you in without hesitation. you had gotten along well with edmund, and lucy immediately, though susan and peter were more harsh with you.
it was understandable at first, you were a stranger they were welcoming into their home. it didn’t take long for susan to warm up to you and you two became close quite quickly after that, though it was a bit different for peter.
he would ignore you at dinners, scoff when you would comment on war issues he and edmund would discuss with you and his sisters, roll his eyes when you offered him a smile and overall treat you horribly. until you confronted him about it one night.
“.. and then i told him i wasn’t interested, and he still followed me around!” susan retold, and you all chuckled in response. she fake-gagged at the memory, and you smiled sympathetically.
“my, he sounds awful.” you commented, and susan nodded in agreement. she opened her mouth to reply, but was cut off with a scoff. you all turned to peter, who was glaring at you. “is everything alright, peter?” you asked, confused.
“no! can’t you take anything seriously? honestly, it’s getting quite annoying.” he spat, and you took a step back in shock. tears sprung into your eyes, and for a moment you glanced up at him, your blurry eyes meeting his hard ones. you were sure you watched his expression soften, but you shook your head stubbornly.
“i’m sorry.” you whispered, turning around swiftly and leaving the room. you were almost at your room when you heard his voice yelling after you.
“y/n! wait!” he called, and you stopped abruptly, crossing your arms over your chest and spinning to face him. apparently he was running, and unable to stop in time, he came barreling into you, knocking you both over. he quickly grabbed your waist, flipping you just in time so he took the impact of the fall rather than you.
you both groaned, and you looked down at peter with wide eyes. “what the hell was that?” you breathed, and he just chuckled in response. you furrowed your brows, until you realised you were practically straddling his waist. blushing furiously, you scrambled to stand up, him following.
“i’m sorry for being so rude to you. i’m not exactly accustomed to talking to pretty girls.” peter mumbled, and you both froze as he realized what he’d said. “i mean, yes, you’re very pretty, but i don’t think of you like that, well, i mean do like you but - shit.” peter stumbled over his words, sighing in defeat when he knew there was no taking back what he said.
“you think i’m pretty?” you asked, softly. you met his eyes, and it was then that you thought his cheeks were likely even more red than your own. peter shied away, nodding. you had never seen the high king so quiet. stepping forward, you gently tugged his chin, pulling him to face you.
“you could’ve just said so instead of being so mean you know.” you smiled, leaning forward and connecting your lips.
since that day, you and peter had become the closest of friends, and a few weeks later, you’d become an official couple, unshockingly to his siblings.
“it was so obvious, he never takes his eyes off of you. i’m just surprised he was brave enough to do something about it.” edmund had scoffed, and you had never felt so at home with anyone. they were your family.
which is why you supposed it hurt so much that none of them remembered your birthday. you’d told them multiple times, and lucy had even promised to write it into her calendar.
you took a deep breath, allowing yourself to calm down. it was still your birthday, and you were going to make the most of the rest of the day.
you slipped back into your shared room with peter, cleaning yourself up and fixing your disheveled appearance before making your way down the hall.
you hadn’t seen anyone around, and the few servants you had seen had been talking in hushed whispers, and ran when they caught sight of you. how strange.
you were making your way to the garden when lucy came bounding out of nowhere, scaring you half to death.
“hey, y/n!” she exclaimed, bubbly as usual. “wanna come to the beach with me? susan told me to go away, and the boys are in meetings. i’m bored!” she acted dramatically, causing you to giggle.
you really had nothing better to do, and you figured the beach was the best way to let loose. “sure, lucy. let’s go.” you made your way to the beach, both joking and laughing.
you weren’t sure how long you two spent down by the water, but by the time you were drying off, the sun had begun to set.
“we should probably head back now.” you said, and lucy smiled, nodding. there was a hint of something other than innocence in her expression, but you brushed it off. surely it was just your imagination.
lucy lead you into the castle, you both making your way back to your rooms.
“wait here, i just need to ask someone to clean my chambers tonight.” she told you, and you agreed, waiting patiently as she quickly conversed with the servant. they spoke quietly, and you were suddenly getting the suspicion you were missing something.
before you could think further, lucy came back over.
“wonderful, they also told me dinner's almost ready. i’m going to fix my hair up - would you like to come?” she offered, and you accepted, following her up to her chambers.
you both sat in silence as you fixed up your appearance, which got a bit messy with the wind. when you both felt you looked much more reasonable, you returned down to the dining hall. you went to open the door, but lucy was quick to stop you.
“wait - i don’t know if they’re ready yet!” she exclaimed, and you furrowed your brows.
“lucy, what are you on about? you’ve been acting strange all day, what is going on?” you demanded, and she looked like a deer in the headlights. she began to stutter incomprehensible words, when the doors opened, edmund peeking his head out, winking at lucy.
she huffed in relief, taking your hand and tugging you inside the uncharacteristically dark room. “what the-” you whispered, but were cut off by the bright light that swiftly filled the room as the curtains were simultaneously pulled open.
“surprise! happy birthday y/n!” everyone screamed, jumping out from behind various objects in the room. you squealed in surprise, stepping back a bit as your wide eyes scanned the intricately decorated room.
all of your friends; susan, edmund, tumnus, lucy.. everyone was here. you were about to comment when a pair of familiar hands came from behind and covered your eyes.
“surprise.” he whispered, and a large smile crossed your face as you wiggled out of his grip, and spun around to face him. his hands slid down to your waist in response, and you couldn’t contain your joy.
“did you do all of this?” you asked gleefully, and he shrugged.
“with a bit of help from susan, admittedly.” he smiled innocently, and you shook your head at him. “oh come on, you didn’t really think i’d forget your birthday, did you?” he asked playfully, and you shrugged.
“i hoped not.” you smirked, leaning forward to give him a quick peck on the lips, very aware of all the eyes on the two of you. “let’s party!” you exclaimed, and a wave of cheers followed. the fawns began playing their instruments, the sound echoing off the beautiful walls and peter gently grabbed your hand, pulling you into a dance.
the rest of the party was filled with laughter and pure joy. you were sure the night couldn’t have gone better.
at the end of the night, peter lead you to your shared room, his arm never leaving your waist. “you know, i never did give you your present.” peter muttered gently closing the door behind him.
you turned to him, brow quirked in curiosity. you watched as he took in a shaky breath, his normal confidence suddenly disappearing, just like it had the night he told you he liked you.
“y/n, ever since you’ve arrived in narnia, you’ve had an undeniable effect on me. i’m in love with you, truly. i don’t know what i’d do without you.” peter started, and your curiosity quickly turned into confusion, but you didn’t interrupt him.
“i’m the high king - speeches are meant to be natural to me. there’s something about you though, you have me tongue tied and i can barely form full sentences around you.” he met your eyes, and there was a determination in them like you’d never seen before.
with a sudden surge of confidence, peter moved to stand in front of you, slowly lowering onto one knee. you gasped, suddenly very aware of what was happening and tears sprung to your eyes at the thought.
“i don’t want to ramble on, so i’m just going to ask - y/n l/n, will you marry me?” he pulled out a beautiful golden ring, one that very closely resembled his crown.
you shakingly smiled, a single tear falling as you nodded vigorously. “yes, peter. a thousand times yes.” you whispered, and he slid the ring on your finger.
swiftly standing up, he lifted you with ease, spinning you dramatically and pulling you down into a passionate kiss. “i love you, peter pevensie.” you whispered, beaming.
“i love you too, y/n pevensie.” you shook your head at his words, but instead of arguing that you weren’t yet a pevensie, you pulled him into another kiss.
because you really liked the sound of it.

Edmund One-Shot : Few Smiles
A/N
Though this is set in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, for plot relevance, I'm going by the film ages so Edmund is 12. Also, sorry it's kinda shit...
Y/P – Your Pronoun
"Hey Ed!" you said as he walked into the classroom. Instead of the usual hello, he acted as though you weren't there and sat in the spare seat on the opposite side of the classroom. Your smile dropped as he did so - this wasn't like him. Smiles from him were few and rare recently, but this was different. You hoped you hadn't upset him. You had grown up together after all - your friendship couldn't end when you were 14.
Alas, the day continued in this foreign way. He didn't sit next to you in lessons and acted as though you didn't know each other. Any time you attempted to go near him, let alone speak to him, he immediately walked away.
By the end of the school day, well, it was safe to say that you'd had enough.
***
The corridor was empty, or so Edmund thought. He yanked his locker open and began ramming the contents in his bag, filled with anger. He cursed every Government Worker he knew the name of while fumbling with the straps of his bag.
"Edmund!"
He froze. Slamming the locker closed, he slung his bag over his shoulder. Spinning around, Edmund made to walk down the corridor, away from you.
But you'd had enough. You covered the space between you and him in three long strides, and grabbed his arm, making him turn to face you.
"Hey! Get off me!"
"No!" You cried back. "What is going on Edmund? Why are you avoiding me? Did I do something wrong?" You had tears in your eyes on the last question.
"Nothing's wrong, except that I'm being bugged by an annoying little nobody!" Edmund yelled. As soon as the last word left his lips, his faces morphed into one of horror and regret.
"Oh." You whispered, the tears in your eyes escaping, and trailing a cold, lonely path down your cheeks.
"Y/N, no, I didn't mean-"
"It's okay Edmund, I understand. I'm sorry if I did something wrong." You sniffled, "but, I'll leave you alone now. Bye Eddie Bear."
After the familiar nickname escaped your lips, you turned around and fled the hallway, and Edmund's heart broke upon hearing your sobs fade down the corridor as you ran off, away from his harsh words, away from him.
***
The door of the Pevensie's home slammed shut as the youngest, ebony haired boy stormed into the house. His older brother's head snapped upwards at the abrupt noise, and he exchanged a worried glance with his mother as Edmund ran upstairs.
"I'll go." Peter said, motioning for his mother to stay in the living room.
As he approached him and his brother's room, he heard the unmistakable sound of crying. Sighing, he carefully opened the door, and, receiving no backlash for doing so from his brother, entered the room.
"Ed? Edmund, what's wrong?" Peter asked, concerned for his sibling. He sat on the edge of Edmund's bed.
"Ed? Please tell me what's going on?"
"It's Y/N." Peter's eyes widened at this. Y/N and Edmund has known each other since they were babies.
"Is Y/P hurt, what happened?"
"I did. I-I can't believe I said that to Y/P." Edmund said, his voice breaking.
"Said what?" Peter said softly.
"I called Y/P a nobody..."
"Why?" Peter said, shocked.
"I ignored Y/P for the whole day..." Edmund continued, sobbing.
"Oh Eddie," Peter sighed, pulling his little brother in for a hug. "Why? Y/N's your best friend."
"I guess, I was so upset about dad that I didn't want to talk to anyone in case I was mean. I'm just so angry, and I didn't want to take it out on Y/N..."
"Look," Peter began, " You two have known each other since you were three years old. Anything that you did or said, just explain why, and I'm sure Y/P will understand. Okay?"
"Yeah, thanks Pete."
"Always." Peter replied, rubbing Edmund's shoulder, before his younger sibling abruptly shot up, and ran to the door.
"Where are you going?" the eldest Pevensie yelled.
"To talk to Y/N," he said, running down the hall.
"Good luck!" Was the reply he got, as he bolted out of the door, one thought running through his head.
Please Y/N, please forgive me...

Part 2?
Preference (Modern) : Your Favourite Disney Movie
Peter
Tangled. You and Peter had liked each other for a while, and you were both nervous when a movie night was arranged. Before the lantern scene, Susan excused herself to go and take a phone call, Edmund was called to tidy his room by his mum, and a scheming Lucy conveniently decided to go and refill all the food bowls. You both started to sing along to 'I See the Light' and before you knew it, the song had ended and you were kissing.
Susan
Frozen II. While you both enjoyed the first one, you liked the ancient/mythic route the second film took. You also love hearing Susan openly sing along, because she's normally quite shy about her singing voice, however many times you insist that it's amazing. You're both waiting for a third film where Elsa finally get a girlfriend.
Edmund
Beauty and the Beast. Edmund gets very cynical and sarcastic about Disney romance films, but whenever you start to put this DVD in the player, he's already on the sofa with crisps and chocolate. It's not the film itself that you two love (though it is amazing), it's the memories. About a month into your relationship, you went to watch a re-release of Beauty and the Beast in a local cinema. You really wanted go to it so Edmund took you, and that was the moment you both realised that what you felt for each other could be love. After the film, you went to a secluded area in the snowy, cold park and had your first kiss.
Lucy
The Lion King. This film is special to Lucy because it reminds her of Aslan, and anything that makes her happy makes you happy. The neighbours sometimes get annoyed hearing you singing along to the soundtrack but you two couldn't care less.
Caspian
Moana. Caspian has an obsession with the sea. He loves to sail on holiday, and was beyond excited when a Disney film came out that challenged the stereotypes made by its predecessors as well as making fun of them, while putting one of his favourite things on screen.

King Caspian x fem! Reader
The castle of Narnia had long since gone silent, the night sky taking over. All was quiet except the chambers of the king with his new queen. The guards had long since moved away from the chamber door. The sounds of skin slapping against skin and moans causing blush to ride up there cheek.
In side there chamber Y/n get out a high pitched moan as Caspian suck at her neck as she roll her hips against his. Caspian grunted softly as he grasped at her moving hips, attempting to steady himself as she fucked herself on his cock.
Caspian stared up at his beautiful new wife, his wife. He held tightly onto the soft plush of his body. Her lewd moaning driving Caspian insane. Her hands grasp tightly on his shoulders as she moved her hips. Her greedy cunt sucking in her new husband’s cock into her.
Caspian panted and groan as Y/n sped up her pace. Caspian slowly grabbed one of the hands and placed it gently around his neck. Y/n watched him in confusion as she slowed her pace slightly.
“Cas?” Caspian chuckled slightly and nudged her to grip his neck tightly.
“Please love.” Y/n stared down at her husband with an awe stricken look. She sped her pace up again and Caspian slipped a hand to her little bundle of nerves. Y/n whined softly as her grip on Caspian’s neck tightened. Caspian groaned loudly as her grip tightened.
“You like that my king?” Y/n muttered as Caspian groaned. The coil was being to clench inside of her as she panted. Caspian nodded his head hurriedly as he rubbed quick and messy circles on her nub. The coil inside of her threatened to burst as each movement of her hips.
Caspian grew louder and louder as Y/n gripped onto his neck. Caspian could feel himself falling deep into her. Her eyes, her body, her lovely cunt, her soft hand around his neck
“Please…” Y/n giggled softly as she began to feel the coil snap.
“Are you going to cum for me? Please come for me.” Y/n mumbled against him as they moved in sync. They couldn’t tell who climaxed first. Whether it was Caspian being thrown over the edge by Y/n’s hand on his neck. Or if it was Y/n’s coil breaking as Caspian rubbed at her pearl.
The pair panted as Caspian brought Y/n closer to himself. Y/n fell to his side and cuddled into him as there mixed cum dripped down her thighs. Y/n gently looked at his neck, she gently bite her lip.
“I didn’t hurt you did I?” Caspian shock his head with a smile. “You could never hurt me.” Caspian muttered as Y/n kissed the red of his neck.
“I love you, my dearest husband.”
“And I love you more, my dearest wife.”

PAIRING ! edmund pevensie x f!reader
IN WHICH you entertained your lovers big slip up
it was a quiet day in cair paravel. everyone had taken the day off to relax after the tiring week. with all the meeting and formal events planned, it's difficult to do so.
you enjoyed the silent halls on these rare occasions. no one frantically running to their duties from one place to another. a book in hand and the sun shining through the library windows, it was the perfect morning.
that is until your lover barges in the library a little bit too bizarrely. he takes a moment to catch his breath and meets your eyes. "oh aslan, that's your 'i did something bad face' isn't it?" you sighed, forgetting your book.
"it's not as bad as you think love," edmund protested. "what did you do ed."
"i might have made a tiny slip up.." he started. carefully choosing his next words. "i accidentally called you my wife while i was talking with the advisors and our people have been sending wedding gifts."
the worry and panic in his features made you burst into laughter. "you haven't even asked for my hand in marriage," you chuckled.
the corner of his lips curled upwards, a sweet lopsided smile. "and i plan to do so, my love."
edmund offered his hand for you to take. a silent invitation to see what all this madness is about. you playfully rolled your eyes at his tactics, intertwining your hand together.
you walked side by side through the castle corridors. quietly asking how he planned to spend the rest of the day, with the intention of asking him on a date.
"i plan to spend it with you, ofcourse."
you smiled cheerfully, squeezing his hand as a silent 'i love you'. he lit up at the gesture and lifted your interlocked hands to place a soft kiss on your knuckles.
finally arriving at the grand ballroom. you peaked your head inside and found piles of gifts. some neatly placed in stacks, while others were on the verge of falling. "you certainly weren't lying about the abundant amount," you lightly chuckled. quickly saving those in desperate need of stability.
edmund smiled warmly, completely smitten by your sweetness. he watched as you shifted from a corner to another. only stopping once a gift caught your attention.
you stared fondly at a certain present given by a little girl and her father. a handmade music box. attached to it is a letter, decorated with little doodles. you gently unfolded the parchment. revealing the sentimental and heart warming message. written in beautiful handwriting are the words, "may your love last for eternity."
"ed! come quick!" you called. but, there was no response or small scurrying of his feet towards you.
so you tried again, "darling! you have to see this." you softly creased the beautifully crafted box. inside, you found a figure of you and edmund. twisting the handle to reveal its magic. a narnian melody played as mini you and edmund came to life, dancing and waltzing.
you smiled love struck and giddy from the warmth spreading through your body. "edmund, you seriously have to see this—" your sentence being cut short by your boyfriend on one knee.
"oh aslan.. you planned this didnt you? you sly king."
he smirked, already sure of your answer "is that a no?" you were probably ugly crying but edmund looked at you like you were a goddess.
"yes," you mumbled, trying to hold back a sob. edmund chuckled at your response, "yes?"
"yes ill marry you king edmund the just."
tears are now flowing down your cheeks. you threw yourself into his arms causing him to tumble back. he smiled fondly, kissing the side of your head. your cries muffled agaisnt his shoulder.
you hugged him till your cries turned into small hiccups. pulling back to pout at your now, fiance. "i hate you," you hiccuped.
edmund couldn't hide the amusement in his features, "we both know that's far from how you truly feel."
you huffed, "you plotted all this on purpose."
"i love you too darling," he giggled. swaying you in his embrace.
ed is right though, irritated was the furthest thing you felt right now. not with his arms secured around you. you melted against him, surrounded by his love and warmth.
"look at me love," ed whispered, tilting your chin up. he leaned down to press a soft peck on your lips. tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
"i did plan all this. i told everyone beforehand that i was going to propose, and asked their help."
you watched him slide a beautifully crafted ring. fall like leaves engraved to signify the season of your anniversary and now engagement. center is a carnelian crystal, something that reminded him of you. his source of courage, energy, and motivation. edmund softly brushed his fingers on your ring. admiring the way it rested on your finger.
"now, let's go celebrate our engagement with a ride in the woods," he smiled.
a dopey grin spread across your face, "glady." you gently put away the music box, still playing its music. happily rushing through the corridors. hand in hand with your soon to be husband
