the first time peter heard the voice, he thought it was the most beautiful thing he’d ever heard. it was intoxicating. he followed the sound to an open window of the school a block away from his own. though he was unable to see the source of the sound, he listened intently, captivated. much to his dismay, he had to leave to catch the train home.

the mesmerizing voice never truly left his mind, though.

the following days, he decided to take the longer route to the station, which conveniently passed the all girls school, in hopes of hearing the voice again. he succeeded most days, strolling past casually and hearing bits and pieces of various songs. he was completely entranced by it.

he didn’t see the girl behind the angelic sound until the end of the week.

imagine the shock he experienced when he saw that the person the voice he’d been so hypnotized by was coming from was extremely beautiful.

out of curiosity, he’d managed to snag a peek into the open window, at the mysterious girl. she was clad in a red uniform; much like susan and lucy’s, which made sense - since she attended the same school. from what he could see, he thought she was very pretty.

he thought you were very pretty.

he didn’t know anything about you, but after that day, he couldn’t get you out of his head. he felt an overwhelming urge to try to talk to you, but he didn’t even know your name. he considered waiting outside of the school until the end of your rehearsal one night, but then decided that was much too strange and he would rather not come off as a creep.

instead, he thought it was best he distanced himself from you. hell, you didn’t even know he existed and yet, you were all he could think about. and it definitely wasn’t healthy. he began re-taking his old route to the station. it was a shorter distance anyways.

peter longed to hear you sing again. he couldn’t explain it, but he felt an undeniable connection to you. he scolded himself for it, and he tried to convince himself he didn’t need you, but as the days passed, the harder it was to ignore the longing he felt.

he was distractedly thinking of you (unsurprisingly) when a boy came and knocked into him quite harshly. he blinked, looking up at the brooding boy, who towered over him, squaring his shoulders in an attempt to intimidate peter, his friends following suit almost immediately.

peter was unphased. he’d seen so much worse during his days in narnia, he could handle a couple of teenagers. “apologize.” one of his friends spat, and the next thing peter knew, he was in the middle of a full-fledged fight. he was swinging punches and being tossed around, kicking and hitting any target in his range recklessly.

now he was now pacing angrily, being lectured by susan. he wasn’t really listening to her, but he was briefly aware of her going on about how he needs to behave better. peter never understood why she acted as she did, as if she was an adult. aslan had promised their return one day. sure, maybe it had been over a year, but the other pevensies were still as restless as ever to get back to narnia.

then there was susan, who was content with life in england, and peter couldn’t fathom how. they had been literal kings and queens and had lived many years in narnia and then out of nowhere, with no warning whatsoever, they were sent back to the place they so dearly hated. how any of it was okay with susan, he would never know.

he snapped back into the conversation when susan finished with an eye roll. “don’t you ever get tired of being treated like a kid?” he asked, ludicrously.

“we are kids.” edmund answered sarcastically, and peter rolled his eyes. he loved his brother, he really did; but sometimes he was truly a pain in his ass.

“well i wasn’t always.” peter’s reply carried a wave of silence over the four siblings, each of their thoughts drifting to the world they longed to see at least once more. their real home.

“it’s been a year. how long does he expect us to wait?” he huffed, falling back into the seat between his sister and edmund. he leaned back against the wall, closing his eyes.

susan went to speak, but was interrupted by a soft voice calling her name. “susan!” you smiled, all but skipping over to her and her company. “you forgot your papers, and i knew we took the same train, so i - well, i brought them for you!” your words were slightly nervous, but susan thanked you kindly with a bright smile of her own.

peter sat upright, in a state of shock. it was you; the girl in the window. the girl with the incomparable voice. not only because you stood before him, and he had never seen you outside of the school, but you had known his sister? and you took the same train as them? his mind was racing with confusion, though he quickly brushed it off as susan turned to her siblings, stepping aside so they could see you.

“this is y/n, she’s my friend with impeccable talent i’m always telling you guys about!” susan beamed, and your face turned a dark shade of pink. peter thought his heart might explode at how cute you were. “y/n, these are my brothers, edmund and peter, and you already know lucy.” she introduced. lucy and edmund exchanged brief hellos, and peter nodded in acknowledgement, not trusting his words.

you opened your mouth to speak, though you jumped a bit when lucy let out a high pitch squeal. “ouch!” her siblings were quick to shush her, all a bit taken aback by her sudden actions. “something pinched me!”

“stop pulling!” peter jumped up, and edmund looked at him, brows furrowed in a defensive matter.

“i’m not touching you!”

“would you all just-” susan tried, but your gaze snapped to the train accelerating at a tremendous speed next to you, baffled.

“what is that? what’s going on?” you asked, receiving no answers. you watched as the four siblings exchanged a knowing glance, and nerves flooded your being. they were being eerily calm about all of this.

“it feels like magic.” you could’ve sworn you heard lucy say, though over the sound of the speeding train you couldn’t be certain. magic?

before you could question further, susan spoke. “quick, everyone hold hands.” she reached out to you, grabbing a tight hold of your hand. you didn’t even question it - you were in too much of a state of shock to argue otherwise.

you listened to the pevensies bicker a little while longer while your eyes flicked to your left, where everyone else seemed to continue on with their days as if a train wasn’t going five times the speed of a normal train should, and there weren't any papers being thrown left and right around you.

the next thing you knew, the building around you was crumbling and fading into nothing. something about all of this was strangely calming. maybe it was the way the pevensies showed no sign of fear, only happiness; or maybe it was because deep down, you had a feeling this was right.

you soon find yourself in a cave overlooking a beautiful blue ocean, unlike anything you’d ever seen before. it was straight out of a book, down to every detail. you were sure you were dreaming. you stood frozen in amazement, until you felt susan gently tugging your hand, only to realize the four siblings had began stripping their extra layers and were running directly for the water. carelessly, you shrugged and followed suit.

--

you smiled fondly at the memory, sucking in a deep breath. the fresh air felt cool against your throat, and you couldn’t help but feel absolutely at peace as you overlooked the unforgettable sight you met when you’d first arrived.

you stood on a balcony, in the newly rebuilt cair paravel. so much has happened since that first day on the beach, and you were still unbelieving of it all. though as overwhelming as it was, narnia had become a safe place for you. a dreadful feeling that it would all be soon over lingered in the back of your mind, but you decided you were going to live the time you had here to the fullest.

you were so deep in your own thoughts, you didn’t even completely register that you started to sing quietly. as you began to get lost in the song, you gradually sang louder, feeling more and more free with every passing verse. you dreamily leaned against the bannister, singing to your heart’s content.

peter had been looking for you, and when he was passing a certain hallway, a beautiful melody bounced off the walls and filled his ears. he smiled, the voice now all too familiar to him. he followed the song, leaning casually against the doorframe, watching your small figure. the sunset illuminated your already perfect features, casting you in a heavenly glow.

you and peter had grown quite close over your stay in narnia. when you’d first arrived, you’d obviously had many questions - and peter had taken the liberty to fill you in on their lives in the golden age. he was always so happy to talk about narnia freely, and you were a great listener. he hadn’t ever felt so close with anyone other than his siblings, it felt amazing to share his other life with someone new.

“that was beautiful.” he spoke when you’d finished, and you jumped, surprised by his presence. you threw a hand over your heart dramatically, laughing nervously.

“oh my goodness, peter. you’ve nearly given me a heart attack.” you shake your head, as he grinned boyishly. the act made your heart flutter.

“you know, you really are an incredibly talented singer. you should do it more often - in front of people, even. i’m sure everyone would love to hear your voice.” peter complimented, pushing off the wall and walking over to you, so you were only a few steps from standing chest-to-chest.

“yes, well.. it’s not that i’m opposed to performing, i suppose i just don’t think i’m all that good. i know girls at our school who are much better than i am.” you shrugged, and peter nearly choked.

“are you kidding, y/n? i have never heard anyone sing like you do. your voice really is special - i’m sure the girls at your school couldn’t even compare.” peter spoke seriously, looking deep in your eyes. “and maybe i'm being a bit biased, but-”

you held a hand up, giggling quietly at his rambling. he looked a bit confused, but brushed it off. seeing you happy was more than enough for him. “thank you, peter. really. it means a lot.” you blushed a bit at your own words, and peter couldn’t restrain himself from reaching out a tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.

you looked up at him through your eyelashes, a mixture of happiness and surprise in your gaze. he took it as an okay, leaning forward and pressing his lips to yours with no further hesitation. you responded immediately.

you couldn’t explain it, but something about being in this moment, with peter, felt more at home than anything you’d ever experienced. it felt so right, standing with his arms wrapped tightly around your waist, and yours locked around his neck.

when oxygen was necessary, you two only pulled away enough to rest your foreheads against one another.

“you know, this is going to be my last time here.” peter whispered, and you smiled sadly at him. you knew how much this world meant to him, and you could tell by his expression he was struggling to accept it. “it’s not what i really wanted - but i’m really glad i got to share it with you.” his words were sincere, and your heart fluttered.

you glanced down at your hands, gently entwining your fingers with his own. “it’s not going to be easy to let go.” you spoke softly, only loud enough for him to hear. “but i’m going to be there for you, to help you get through this. i don’t want to leave either, but some things we can’t control. trust me, we’ll get through it - together.”

you didn’t know then how much your words meant to peter. coming back from narnia once was hard enough, and now knowing he would never again see his kingdom hurt more than he thought it would. still, your words were enough to make him smile, despite it all.

he didn’t know what brought him to take that longer route that day after school, but he had never been more grateful for the decision he’d made. maybe it wasn’t him after all. maybe fate had brought him to you. it didn’t matter, really. because he knew one thing for sure.

he knew he was going to be okay.

because of you, the girl with the angelic voice.

traitor [p.p]

word count: 1.2k

pairing: pansy parkinson x fem!reader

warnings: a lot of angst, death

a/n: i changed the request just a teeny bit, i hope its okay!

request: Hi, i really love your writing and i was wondering if you could write a Pansy x f!reader When they are in the hogwarts battle when Voldemort announces that Harry is dead and reader is one of the only Slytherin-owned who has stood against the Death Eaters. She tries to bring Pansy to her side, but ends up being called a traitor by belatrix and ends up being killed by the same during the battle, having as a last action saying I love you to Pansy. ( requested by @forgetmenotsworld )

-

this was not how things were supposed to end. harry was supposed to kill voldemort, and things were supposed to go back to a peaceful world, where you didn’t have to jump at every creak in the floorboards, scared you were going to be attacked. everything you’d done was supposed to be justified - because he won.

you stood absolutely distraught at the sight in front of you. you heard the screams in celebration of the death eaters, knowing full well that your family and the families of your best friends stood among them.

“harry potter is dead!” you heard vaguely, though you began to drone out the sounds around you as realization dawned on you.

you were never going to get that perfect life you wanted with pansy, because harry was dead. along with him went any hope of your freedom. the dark lord was going to rise and take over the wizarding world. and you were expected to follow.

you and pansy had been together since your fifth year, through everything you acted side-by-side. you were each other’s rocks. from helping each other through the tasks assigned by the dark lord and your parents, to the constant glares you got from other houses. the hardest and simplest times, you’d been through it all together - and that was what made any of it somewhat okay.

you thought you were on the same page always - together until the end, as you’d always say to her. she would always repeat your words with confidence, because you always hoped for a better life.

now, all hope gone, you were simply scared. pansy had always been one to give into fear, especially when it came down to risking the lives of those she loved. if there was one thing that scared her the most, it was losing her family - or worse - losing you.

draco had warned her before the battle began, and the words echoed in her head.

“don’t do anything stupid, pansy. you know what he’s capable of - he won’t hesitate to kill anyone. especially not her. he shows no mercy, and you need to do what he says.” his voice cracked at his own words, and that was when pansy had realized; he was just as scared as she was. if not more.

so when lucius and narcissa began to coax draco over to them, pansy was not surprised at the way he obediently did as told. she looked over at you, whose expression had visibly dropped into one of shock.

she opened her mouth to comfort you, but no words came out. she couldn’t comfort you now, because you both knew what was going to happen next. there was nothing comforting about it.

“pansy.” she heard, and her world froze. she slowly turned, to meet the eyes of her father burning holes through her. “come. now.” he all but demanded, and she gulped nervously. she felt your heavy gaze on her, and her heart tore in half.

her eyes traveled to draco, whose expression was pleading her to listen. it was this or you would die, she reminded herself. taking a shaky breath, she refused to look at you as she stepped out onto the field, ignoring the disappointed gazes of her peers.

you thought you were shocked when draco gave in without a fight. but pansy? you thought she knew better. your mind was racing, and you barely felt the tears that began rolling down your cheeks as you pushed through the crowd, grabbing her arm.

“pansy - don’t do this.” you pleaded, and your heart broke even more when she turned to face you, her expression holding no emotion.

“i have to.” she stated, but you knew her - and you knew how hard she was trying to hold up a brave front. you stepped forward, reaching a hand out to cup her cheek. she leaned against it, closing her eyes. “please don’t make this harder than it has to be. just come with me, and we can both be safe.”

“i can’t fight with him. stay with me - we can fight for the right side. we can make up for some of the fucked up shit we’ve done. i love you-” you started, but you were cut off by a loud, wicked cackle that echoed through the deathly silent courtyard. you and pansy stepped apart, a bit taken aback by the horrid sound. your eyes followed the source, only to see bellatrix skipping happily over to you.

pansy wanted to desperately to step out in front of you, stop whatever was going to happen. she made a motion to move, but she felt her body lock as bellatrix yelled a simple “stupefy!” and laughed maniacally.

pansy could see and hear everything that was happening, but couldn’t do anything to stop it, and she felt her heart crack as bellatrix dragged her wand against your chin. you stood tall, but even from her position on the ground, she knew you were scared.

bellatrix circled you, like an animal waiting to attack its prey. you felt her wand gently running along your skin, causing a shiver to run down your spine. “looky what we’ve got here.” she purred, and you sucked in a breath as she stepped away from you, facing you directly.

“a traitor! how exciting - i mean, what a shame..” she spoke sarcastically, and a wicked smile crawled onto her face.

“there’s only one way to handle people like yourself.” she whispered, so only you could hear. “and everyone is going to watch.” she turned to face the crowd of students, all watching with bated breaths.

“this is what happens to those of you who don’t listen to the dark lord. may this girl serve as a reminder.” she turned to you, and without hesitation, screamed the last words you’d ever hear. “avada kedavra!”

pansy watched in pain as you dropped to the ground, unable to move. finally, bellatrix lifted her spell from pansy’s body, and she crawled over to your lifeless figure, clinging to you desperately.

“no no no” she repeated, cradling you to her chest. “i love you too, y/n. what happened to together until the end? please, please come back. i can’t do this without you.” she muttered, sobs wracking her body.

bellatrix had launched off into a speech about treachery, though pansy paid no mind. you were gone.

she felt a pair of strong arms lift her away from you, and she kicked and screamed in a feeble attempt to get back to you. “shh, pans. i’ve got you.” draco whispered, and pansy finally felt the weakness hit her as she went limp in his arms, allowing him to bring her to her parents’ side. pansy turned abruptly, latching onto draco as she cried.

it had felt like her whole world had come crashing down, you were the only thing that kept her sane and now, you were dead. she was alone, and hopeless.

she saw movement from the corner of her eye, and suddenly harry was alive - and battle broke out. something in her snapped, and she wiped her tears with a newfound determination. ‘this one’s for you, y/n.’ she thought, sucking in a sharp breath and running to help her fellow hogwarts students.

she was going to fight for what was right, for the life you have always dreamed of - or she would die trying.

could you do promts 58, 36, 42, 81 and 27 for edmund pevensie? where edmund and the reader are at a ball or something and they step outside for a moment and edmund decides it's finally time to confess his feelings? please and thank you!! sorry if it's a bit too much

prompts: 58, 36, 42, 81, 27

58. “i’ve waited for this moment for a long time.”

36. “you’ve shown me what love feels like.”

41. “don’t be afraid.”

82. “just breathe, okay?”

27. “kiss me.”

-

there wasn’t much to complain about living life as a lady in narnia. you had your duties, and sure, sometimes they sucked, but at the end of the day, you were eternally grateful for the life you’ve been given.

there was one thing, however, that proved to be an issue for you. and that was the social aspect of it all.

you were never one for crowds, and you hated having to interact with so many strangers at once. you were very easily overwhelmed, and the hectic nature of social gatherings was not your scene. hence why you weren’t a fan of susan’s infamous balls she so dearly loved to hold.

even so, you were still expected to attend said balls due to your status and close friendship with the pevensies. you’d asked them several times if you could make up an excuse to miss, though they always brushed it off. in edmund’s words, “how will i ever make it through this insufferable night without you?”

so that’s how you found yourself alone in the ballroom, back pressed against the wall; as far as humanly possible from anyone near you without leaving the room. you froze when you were approached by a prince from archenland. you didn’t have the heart to deny his offer to dance, so you allowed him to guide you to the middle of the grand ballroom, slowly leading you in a dance.

you were actually faring quite well, until he spun you out gently, and your eyes caught sight of just how many people were around you. your body went rigid, panic flooding you instantly as you watched couples dance spin past you. you vaguely heard the prince asking you something, but you blocked it out. “i have to go.” you told him, leaving him no time to reply before you dashed out of the crowded area.

edmund watched the whole ordeal; one second he was glaring daggers at the boy who’d asked you to dance, and the next, he watched you freeze up and run out of the room without any warning. he quickly weaved through the crowd, keeping his head low as to avoid possible conversation. he stepped out of the room only to see you nowhere to be found; though he knew exactly where you were. he was your best friend after all.

you leaned your elbows against the railing of the balcony, your face resting in your hands as you desperately tried to grasp reality. your breaths were ragged, and you were quickly getting lightheaded. you felt a presence running up behind you, and you flinched; though you knew exactly who it was. you made no move towards him, simply standing vulnerable, scared to look up at him.

“y/n. look at me.” he stepped forward, so he was standing directly beside you. you closed your eyes, sighing deeply before standing up and facing him. the moment your eyes met, you felt yourself getting choked up, and you were very aware of how little oxygen you were intaking as tears began cascading down your cheeks. “hey, it’s okay. don’t be afraid. i’ve got you - focus on me. just breathe, okay?” he coached, and you nodded hesitantly, following his instructions. “breathe in, and out with me - just like that.” he praised, and you felt your muscles relax as you gratefully accepted the fresh air into your burning lungs.

once you had completely regulated your breathing, you stood in silence for a few moments. edmund waited patiently, making no sign of discomfort. you were sure at this point - you did not deserve edmund pevensie. without further warning, you launched forward, pulling him into a tight hug and letting out her emotions into his perfectly fitted formal attire. he held her tightly against his chest, and subconsciously, he began to run a hand gently up and down her back in an attempt to soothe her.

it was at that moment that edmund knew he wanted this to last; the feeling of you in his arms was a surreal feeling, and though he wished it was under better circumstances, he knew he had to tell you how he felt. it was now or never.

he waited until your tears had subsided completely, before gently pushing you to hold you at arm’s length. you frowned, confused, but tensed slightly as edmund stepped forward, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. “ed-” you breathed, and he shook his head, cutting you off effectively.

“look, y/n..” he started, and you swore, you’d never seen edmund so nervous. you reached for his hand, grasping it tightly in your own, smiling reassuringly at him - giving him the boost he needed. “when i met you, i didn’t know what i’d be getting myself into. you were just the quiet girl who no one knew too well. i remember when you surprised us all when you kept up with my sarcasm in that one meeting - the one about the archenland visits.” you smiled, nodding to show you remembered, but you had no idea where he was going with this.

“that was the day i realized you were so much more than just another lady. after that, we became best friends, and i swear out of everything narnia’s given me, you were-, no, you are the best part. i don’t know what i’d do without you, y/n.” he hesitated, cursing under his breath. “fuck it, i hate speeches. what i’m trying to say is, y/n, you’ve shown me what love feels like. i just needed you to know that, i can’t keep pretending otherwise.”

you stood speechless, looking into edmund’s eyes softly. you saw nothing but sincerity in his beautiful brown orbs, and you smiled sweetly. “i’ve waited for this moment for a long time. what took you so long?” you teased, and he chuckled, shaking his head. you both stepped forward, and he reached out, cupping your cheek gently. “hey ed?” you started, and he quirked a brow, urging you to continue. “kiss me.”

spoiler alert: he did. and that was only the first of many kisses to come.
