ooh boy did I cut it a bit close with this one. I always post hermittober pieces every day at the same time and this one took me so long to figure out that I'm currently scheduling this post with only less than an hour to spare

anyway, I like how this one turned out, especially since I couldn't find any references, so I had to use my imagination a bit. that said tho, I did use a reference for the skull and I'm glad I did. should probably do that more

ever since I saw this post I wasn't able to get it out of my mind, so I present you with my experiment on this, specifically on the colours bleeding into each other, albeit not in the animation form also please keep in mind that I chose these two pretty much only for their colour potential

If the life series was animated I think a cool detail would be animating the green lives with smooth, clean lines. Yellow lives are slightly sketchy, their line distortion being more notable during fights or chaotic intentions. Then red lives are animated very loosely and messy, their lines are never “still”, there’s always a visual tension with them because they look one second away from falling apart

And when reds fight, their colors bleed into each other as well. They become a messy portrait of themselves. Still recognizable, to some degree, but no longer the put together image they once were. Literally
