Celegorm came looking for his dog and found him in the company of Amras.

A late night musing I had while chatting with a friend.
Tolkienverse fandom is wild. I can’t help but remember how much my BeeCurufin fic was BASHED, to the point where I had to close the comments on all my works. Also when my drawing of Narvi, the twink dwarf, ended up on an "Ugly Art" forum just because his proportions didn't match traditional human expectations.
In response, I kept drawing and writing silly stuff XD
I just wanna say that if you ever feel like you don't belong in fandom because your art or writing isn't "up to par," by certain standards, fucking do it anyway. Because it's fandom. There shouldn't be any standards other than to have fun.
Don't talk yourself out of drawing that picture or writing that goofy fic because you're worried it's too much of a crack idea. Don't worry about how it's going to be received. If it makes you happy, do it.
You can play in the sand box however you want. Just don't be a dick.

1. If you are not silly, it is vital you become silly
2. If you are silly, you must stay silly
2. If you used to be silly but have stopped, you must make all efforts to return to silliness

I was going for a metaphysical Ainur look. Let me know which version you like better please!

Celebrimbor was tortured and killed by Sauron for not telling where the Elven Rings were hidden. That stopped Sauron from binding all of them and ultimately led to his defeat.
I agree with the original poster, especially regarding Celebrimbor (my love). Would he have willingly followed his father, Curufin, to Middle-earth and everywhere else, including Nargothrond, if Curufin were truly a bad father? Celebrimbor’s presence often aligned with Curufin's until their traumatic rupture.
In my opinion, Curufin is the type of character who doesn't necessarily need redemption. If we appreciate him, we should embrace him for who he is—petty and arrogant, flaws and all. However, I've always found the "bad dad" trope concerning Curufin to be quite frustrating. But of course, everyone has their own perspective on this matter.
In Defense of Curufin
Or whatever. So, there’s always been a lot of animosity in this fandom for Curufin, some of which is understandable but some of which I feel is unfair. This may be long, apologies for lack of readmore on mobile.
I’m not trying to make people like Curufin. I’m not trying to say he did nothing wrong. I’m just trying to provide some balance in a really heavily skewed fandom.
A lot of Curufin stuff that I see tends to operate under the assumption that he’s not a very nice person, and never has been. Bad dad Curufin is really really popular, and it frustrates me because I really don’t see him being a bad father.
Tolkien himself states that he felt that Curufin came off much worse than he actually was in HOME 11 (the Maeglin chapter), and I’ve cropped out a passage from the pdf version here.

So, as can be seen here that Tolkien himself actually wanted to show Curufin in a more positive light, because although he may not be specifically nice, he is honourable and a better person than is shown in the tale of Beren and Luthien.
In regards to Curufin being a bad father, I really contest this. Curufin had an excellent relationship with his own father, so it makes little sense to me that his relationship with Celebrimbor (as so often portrayed) would be distant and cold. Celebrimbor certainly loved him enough to stay with him for the centuries leading up to Nargothrond, and even accounting for Celebrimbor’s distancing himself during the events there I think it’s important to note that you do not have to dislike someone to disagree with them.
There is little canon evidence for either argument, but I just wanted to put forward a different side, as I rarely see anyone arguing for him being a good dad. My own personal hcs are that while he may not have always succeeded, I think he tried the best he could and adored his son.
Nargothrond and the events of the tale of Beren and Luthien are often brought up when Curufin’s character is being questioned. Whilst them kidnapping Luthien is of course reprehensible, and I will not excuse that, often people cite his “betrayal” of Finrod as to why he is bad.
Finrod knows about the Oath. It’s also, frankly, a suicide run. Celegorm and Curufin don’t lie when they speak of the dangers ahead, and remind the people of Nargothrond of the actions they are bound to take under the Oath should a silmaril be found. The thing is, if anyone should be blamed, it should be the people of Nargothrond, who allowed themselves to be swayed. Again, I don’t want to fully excuse them as I still think it wasn’t exactly kind. But it also was true that trying to take on Melkor directly was basically suicide, and they tell the truth there.
I feel like a lot of the bad treatment Curufin (and by extension Celegorm) gets is unfair, because although he did bad things, this fandom is much nicer about the arguably much worse Maedhros and Maglor (who I love! But they killed so many more people than their brothers, and get let off because they’re sad and really sorry about it), and the definitely worse Sauron and Melkor.
As said, I don’t want to make people think that my goal is to say that people HAVE TO LIKE HIM. I just would like to lessen the climate of hostility and bad feeling around him, because it’s rather sad and lonely being a Curufin fan when a lot of what I see is people talking about how he’s a villain and a bad father. And that’s if they think of him at all.
I didn’t really want to delve heavily into my own hcs for this post, so I tried to stick to what I know to be canon. If anyone does want to hear my dumb curvo hcs, I guess i could do a separate post if there’s any interest :)

The amazing concept art of Beauty and the Beast (2017) by Jama Jurabaev, Ioan Dumitrescu and Karl Simon

Book: The Beauty and the Beast
As a child, Celebrimbor was utterly captivated by his father.
His young eyes watched in awe as Curufin adorned himself with shimmering jewelry, each one meticulously crafted by his hands.
“Why do you wear so many jewels, atya?”
Curufin glanced down at his son and offered a smile.
“These jewels are emblems of our family’s talents, Tyelperinquar. I wear them not merely to shine, but to honor our legacy and the unique potential we have to create.”
Celebrimbor didn’t fully grasp his father’s words, but a deep desire stirred within him to craft something just as wonderful by himself.
“One day I shall create jewels as beautiful as yours.”
“You shall speak Quenya as a highborn prince first,” Curufin chuckled. “Now, what is more beautiful than beautiful?”
Celebrimbor thought for a moment. “...Glorious.”
“Indeed,” Curufin replied, lifting Celebrimbor into his lap. “In time, you shall surpass me and create your own glorious works. But remember, beauty alone is not enough." (...)
"But how can I be as good as you?"
"Well, what is greater than good?" Curufin prompted.
"...Fantastic?!"
“Fantastic." Curufin declared. "The fire of our house already burns within you, Tyelperinquar. The light in my eyes is reflected in yours.
Now, come, let us attend to your hair,”
As Curufin began to brush his son’s long hair with gentle, practiced hands, Celebrimbor’s thoughts drifted to the evening’s festivities.
“Tonight is the Starlight Festival,” he said with earnest intensity. “I must adorn myself with a multitude of jewels.”
“And why is that?” Curufin inquired with amusement.
“I wish to be more beautiful than you so Finrod will dance with me instead!” the child replied with determination. Then, anticipating his father’s correction, he added, “Not only beautiful—more beautiful than beautiful: magnificent.”
A warm laugh escaped Curufin. “Then I shall make you magnificent to ensure he cannot refuse you.”

Círdan the Shipwright (line work)

Here is an elf that gets too little love. Círdan the Shipwright. One of the noblest of the Sindar elves and a real stand up fellow in my opinion.
Lemme know what you think, who are your favorite elves?
Artists should be free to express themselves without people nitpicking their work. If you don’t like a hc in a fic, just scroll past. Think the anatomy in a drawing is off? Or the art isn’t your style? No one asked. If a smut isn’t written how you like it, read something else. People are creating and sharing their work for free, for themselves, and for others who enjoy it. Criticizing them doesn’t make you look smart, just pitiful. Interestingly that most of the people doing this don’t create anything themselves or go on anom because they have no guts to share their own work, precisely because they're terrified of being treated the way they treat others. Leave artists the fuck alone.

"Please," Celegorm tore off his helmet and dropped to his knees beside his brother. "Don't go..." His fingers traced Curufin’s dark hair, now marred with blood. “Stop playing,” he pleaded, his voice trembling as he forced a smile. “Open your eyes.” He hoped for one last trick because Curufin always had a plan, but his brother remained unresponsive. He tenderly brushed Curufin's face, and his hand recoiled at the chill of his skin. Gradually, his smile faded.
Memories of their childhood flooded his mind—Curufin’s laughter, once carefree as they hunted together through the fields of Valinor, now felt like a distant dream. The harsh reality yanked him back to the present and he sobbed openly, cradling Curufin in his arms as he did when they were children. "Little one," he sighed, rocking back and forth as tears fell onto his brother's cheeks. "Blood of my blood,"
(...)
“Don't be afraid,” Celegorm murmured, holding Curufin close despite the excruciating pain tearing through his chest. “I'll be with you soon.”
As night fell, Celegorm’s servants stumbled upon him clinging to Curufin's body in the kingly hall. In the dim light of their torches, the brothers' faces reflected a strange state of peace.
Together in life, together in death, they parted from the world as they had lived in it: inseparable.
