Author Notes: YALL ACTUALLY THOUGHT I COULD WRITE????? this is actually the first fanfiction piece i've ever shared with the internet. first piece i've actually finished! so please don't fucking come after me because i will threaten you with u h tears. yeah. these will all be short fics so that i can get the hang of it. i focused on the smell part of the song in the beginning sksks and then like- yeah wholesome ending.

The day started just like any other. Castiel found himself bundled in mixed blankets. The natural smell of his partner filled his nostrils. Calming in every way possible. A smile managed to find itself on his face, despite being so completely tired. Sleeping was something the former angel couldn't get used to. He had night terrors of what could happen while he's unconscious. While he can't protect Dean– oh, so defenseless. –and yet the calming smell of the other could get him to sleep a full night.

He gathered himself together just enough to fix the bed. Dean was never too good with that. And so the job became his as soon as they decided to share a room. Of course, minor changes had been made to better comfort the both of them. That ended up being the idea of multiple blankets and a certain plushed animal Castiel couldn't ignore. Oh, how he enjoyed online shopping. The comforter is laid neatly at each corner of the bed, then the soft and thin blankets they shared. The two pillows sit nicely at each end. in the middle of the pillows is one, small plush of a bee. It wasn't very accurate, despite wanting an accurate one, but he enjoyed it nonetheless. He called it “adorable without question.”

The last thing to fix was bowls that sat at the end of the bed. He couldn't forget Miracle. The dog should be with Dean as of now, so he had time to arrange everything how it should look. He looked at the basket which held their dirty clothes. Not very many, they wouldn't need to do laundry for a few days. He had gotten good with determining how to figure out when laundry is needed.

He was secretly proud of it.

Castiel met everyone in the kitchen. Jack eating cereal, Dean popping toasting into the toaster, and Sam cooking eggs and bacon. Miracle sat by Jack, loving the attention he could get. The dog barked at the sight of Cas, earning a laugh out of him. He moved to sit next to Miracle, petting down the shaggy fur.

This was the life he chose to have, no destiny written it. He wrote it. He and the entire family. Content with whatever thoughts his mind came up with, they ate.
