Im currently obsessing over Space Pirate Mito, a middling 90's scifi comedy anime where the boring self-insert male protag Aoi inexplicably changes gender at the end of season 1 and her transition is played entirely straight for the rest of the show

It's almost never brought up, they just throw her in a girl's uniform and she goes on dates with her cute supportive alien gf. The rest of the show is them reconciling their relationship and fighting gods for each other. How have I not heard of this til now

This show is living proof that I'll love even the worst show if you put enough Genderfuckery in it

It's def got its misses but it's from 1999, who cares. I don't, I'm too busy looking at Them

This one is just great. The implication that the bed has an actual mattress and not, like, a brick just to make the instant kill suck even more. And of course, it's extremely cute.

Had some fun (tm) with the stamp tool. I'm almost glad that the words in the second panel didn't translate, because redrawing that would have been terrifying... Fun too, though.

Nothing interesting to say translation wise. The characters next to Testament's friend [ 寝技 ] translated as [ sleeping pills ] or [ pinning technique, lie down (through skill) ]. I went with the pinning technique since that's easier to make into something funny in English.

My favorite Bridget comics are the ones that really strike at the core of her character: That she's dumb as hell. (affectionate)

I'm genuinely obsessed with this girl. I need Bridget to show up in the next story in Strive just so Strive exclusive fans understand that there isn't a single complete thought inside her head.

Anyway. Funny comic. Whoever drew this was exceptionally attracted to Sol. Look at the way they render the man.

The text at the bottom of Bridget's speech bubble is just "you". I had to change the script for this up a bit, since adhereing too strictly to the direct translation would just feel too strange in English.

In the last panel, Bridget says [ as translated by DeepL both times ]

"What do you think? That needless flirtation with sexiness your condition is at the level of a monster! I think he's a handsome handsome man."

or

"I think you're a handsome handsome guy with a lot of unnecessary sex appeal."

I decided that the joke hit better if the only thing bridget says 1. uses the term monster, as the joke requires and 2. has what she was calling monstrous. I just couldn't fit her calling him handsome in at all without weakening the punch, unfortunately. If anybody skilled in Japanese wants to give retranslating the last line a go, feel free.

I wanna add to this cause its funny:

The strongest pokemon moves usually have 5 or 10 PP, meaning they can't be used indefinitely, and most weaker moves tend to have about 20~30 ish PP.

Assuming every (1025) pokemon has a max of 4 30pp moves, and they kill 1 lion per move, they would only kill 123,000 lions, not nearly enough.

The only naturally occuring PP restoring move is a Leppa Berry, which only restores 10 PP of 1 move each.

They would need to farm a total of 99,987,700 Leppa Berries to fully defeat all lions at minimum, or resort to struggle (Which takes 1/4th of the max HP per use)

God will die headbutting a lion to death.

Pokémon win against a billion lions because a billion lions is unsustainable, and multiple pokémon can escape by flying, digging, surfing, and/or teleporting, at which point they can wait out the lions.
