For future reference: I am on the fence about Snape. I do not like him in a lot of ways, but I do like his story and I do see why people do, so, you know, constantly developing opinion lmao

Autistic Severus Snape: 

Special interest is potions, dark arts and Lilly

Severe trouble making connections, but becomes incredibly attached once he has

Hyper fixation on people and potions

Stims by swooshing around his robe, stiring potion pots, “flouncing” 

Peculiar thought and speech pattern (y’all make fun of how he talks, consider: it’s an autistic trait, thanks) 

Processing issues especially with light and bright colours (people think it’s “aesthetic” always wearing and being in the dark, nah man it’s just sensory hell leave the guy alone”)

Verbal stims with certain words - especially if it’s alliteration (I feel you snapey boy alliteration is the shit) 

Trouble understanding social cues and sarcasm, get’s through it by pattern and study of the person’s speach

Is a fantastic spy because he’s been pretending to be neurotypical his entire damn life, what’s lying to a dark lord when y’all gotta navigate that minefield anyway

Special Interest is Occolumency/Legillimency

Maurauders bullied him for being “odd” “peculiar” “creepy” blah blah * insert more common insults at autistic peeps* (and because he was friends with your little crush James Potter I’m side eyeing you) 

Either stares to much or wont meet your eyes, comes off as “creepy” or “shady/suspicious” actually just ?? eye contact is hard man ?? 

Strong sense of wrong or right but doesn’t necessarily fit societies version of it

Safe person was Lilly, then Albus

Shutdowns more than meltdowns - but when he does have ameltdown he lashes out verbally (we see it with harry, harry overwhelms and makes him feel unsafe in the occolumency scene and he lashes out with insults and truth harsh words)

Probably more but, I’m currently working through the audio books again so *shrug*
