Malfoy-2007 - Untitled - Tumblr Blog
Sooooooooo... I was toying with maybe starting my own hurt/comfort side blog, but not exactly sure where to start. This is just a little piece I wrote the other day when thinking about a character who suffers with migraines calling their lover from work to come pick them up. I'd really appreciate it if you could give it a read and let me know what you think? Only if you have the time though! I'd hate to impose.
---
It is barely midday when A had to excuse themselves to stumble away from their meeting. B had been right. B had been so right to beg them to stay home today, but A had no idea it would get to be this bad. It had only been a slight headache this morning. Just a little headache, maybe a little bit of nausea in their gut if they focused on it. But of course, B had seen straight through them.
A staggers down the hall as the world tilts and wavers around them. There’s no doubt about it – this is a full-blown migraine. Every little step they take sends an echoing thud through their aching head and the threat of nausea has their throat squeezing coldly at every corner turned. They’re sure they were making their way to the bathroom, but every corridor is merging together at this point and the piercing lights in their vision is making reading the room numbers nigh impossible. Everything aches. Everything.
They do finally make it there, somehow. A opens the door to find it empty and feels like they could cry with happiness, if they had the energy to do so. Instead, they stumble over to the farthest sink, away from the door where every sound that echoes from beyond sends a spike of pain through their skull.
They can’t go on like this. They know they can’t, so they reach into their pocket and pull out their phone, their hands trembling so much that they almost drop it. The light from it is searing. It sends another wave of pain through their head and they can’t help hunching over with a whimper. God, they feel so useless. They can barely see to scroll through their contacts, but when they come across the one they need, they recognise it instantly.
B picks up on the second ring, but A’s head is pounding so much they can barely make out B’s greeting across the tinny phone, let alone reply. All they can do is let out another quiet whimper. They feel awful. They feel so awful they want to cry, but they’re in a public toilet at work for God’s sake. Not at home, where they’d so much rather be.
B picks up on the noise immediately. A strains to hear them, and thankfully is able to make out some of it this time. ‘A? A? What’s going on, love? Are you okay?’
A takes a deep breath to calm themselves, but when they do speak, it comes out as a raw, choked sob. ‘No.’ They admit finally, trying desperately to ignore the burning at the back of their eyes. ‘Can you come pick me up, please?’
‘Oh, sweetheart.’ B replies gently, and A has to stop their breath from hitching more than it already is. ‘I’d do it in a heartbeat. But the car’s in the garage at the moment, remember?’
Of course. Through the fuzziness clouding A’s brain, they vaguely recall B telling them that they were getting the engine fixed today. Of course. They had been so stupid. A grips the phone tightly, almost dropping it with how clammy and shaky their hands are, and a few more sobs slip out against their will. ‘O-oh. Yeah, of course. I’m sorry for bothering you, I’ll just-‘
‘I’ll get a cab.’ B says firmly, and A blinks. They want to argue. Money’s already tight for the two of them, and the traffic’s bound to be bad this time of day… but their head is killing them and they can’t stop shaking and they can’t help but be fiercely, fiercely glad that they can go home. They want nothing more than to curl up under the blankets in their misery, the sweet release of sleep from the aching of their body and cold clutch of nausea in their gut their only desire at this point. And maybe to cuddle up to B too… but they would hate to bother them by asking.
‘Ok.’ A breathes eventually. ‘I’m sorry for-‘
‘It’s no trouble at all.’ B interrupts them. It was almost like they could read A’s mind sometimes. ‘I’ll get a hot water bottle ready. And some meds, and some blankets, and then we can cuddle on the couch or the bed and watch dumb movies until you feel better. How does that sound, love?’
‘Good.’ A whispers back, because it does. It really does.
They can hear B’s soft smile down the phone when they speak again. ‘Ok, sweetheart. Just hang on, alright? I’ll get you home.’
okay I am in favor of your starting a whump blog because this is FANTASTIC 😭😍🤩
seriously, your descriptions are so good and you perfectly capture the angst and comfort elements so well. and the dialogue is amazing???

Hi! If it's not too much to ask, could you do a mermay snippet? Points 5, 7 and 8. I was thinking of a human that for some strange reason transforms into a merperson, and while they're still getting used to it they hurt themselves, and they get rescued by another merperson. Write whatever you want tho, I don't want to force you to write something you don't like! Thank you <3
Hi Anon! It’s not too much to ask at all! Thanks for requesting this, here you go!
The water was a shimmering blue color except for the stark trail of red that swirled just below the surface. Whumpee didn’t know why they became a merperson every time they touched water, all they knew was that they needed to get used to it, which is what they were trying to do when their tail got caught against a rather sharp piece of coral. Now, Whumpee tried to find their way back to the beach, but the current was carrying them farther out to sea. At this rate, Whumpee would bleed out before they could reach the shore. Whumpee’s vision, though enhanced as a merperson, was starting to blur at the edges. Whumpee was finding it harder to swim against the current; it felt as though all their energy was being sucked out of their body. The last thing Whumpee saw was a shadow descend upon them before everything went black.
…
“Hey,” a voice echoed.
Whumpee stirred but didn’t open their eyes.
“Come on,” the voice said, “don’t leave me now. Wake up.”
Whumpee’s eyes fluttered open. Their surroundings started out blurry and unfocused. Eventually their vision cleared enough for Whumpee to see that they were in some sort of cave, the water lapping at their fins.
“There you are, you had me worried for a minute,” the voice said.
Whumpee turned to the side to see a stranger smiling down at them. This stranger, like Whumpee, had no legs, but rather a shimmery fish’s tail. Whumpee’s eyes grew wide. They had never seen another merperson before, they thought they were the only one. Whumpee propped themselves up on their elbows and got a better look at their own tail. It was wrapped in thick, green seaweed, and Whumpee noticed that the pain had subsided to a dull throb.
“If you don’t mind me asking,” the merperson said, “what were you doing in such shallow water in the first place? Coral reefs can be pretty dangerous.”
Whumpee thought about how to answer. This was a real merperson in front of them, not some human that had gotten turned into one. Whumpee didn’t know how merpeople felt about humans, much less about humans that got turned into merpeople.
“I, um,” Whumpee started.
Whumpee trailed off. They didn’t have a good answer. Something seemed to glint in the merperson’s eyes.
“My name’s Caretaker, what’s yours?”
“Whumpee,” Whumpee blurted without thinking.
“Ah, that explains it. Whumpee is a human name, isn’t it?”
Shoot. They were busted. Whumpee’s breathing grew quick. Caretaker knew they weren’t a real merperson, and they knew their name. Whumpee had to get out of here fast. They were just about to try to drag themselves back into the water when Caretaker put their hands on their shoulders.
“Woah, woah, take it easy, Whumpee,” Caretaker said, “I’m not going to hurt you. I just wanted to know why you were in shallow water, and now I do. Come on, take a deep breath.”
Whumpee did as they were told.
“Good job, now let it out.”
Whumpee exhaled shakily.
“Now breathe in again.”
Whumpee took another deep breath. Caretaker walked them through the exercise a few more times before they were satisfied. When Whumpee had finally calmed down, Caretaker let go of their shoulders.
“There, see? There’s nothing to be scared of.”
Whumpee nodded.
“Do you have a place you can dry off and revert to your human form?” Caretaker asked, “I’d hate to make you recover in a cave.”
“I have a house near the beach,” Whumpee answered.
“Got it. I’ll take you there.”
“How?” Whumpee asked.
“You’re not the only one with the ability to transform into other things,” Caretaker replied, “granted I haven’t become a human in quite some time, but no matter, it could be fun!”
…
Caretaker carried Whumpee out of the water and onto the beach. They hadn’t used their human legs in some time, so they were a little shaky at first.
“So, Whumpee, which house is yours?”
Whumpee pointed to a little white house with a blue roof. Caretaker tightened their hold on Whumpee and walked to the front door. Once inside, Caretaker laid Whumpee down on the couch and set about finding towels to help Whumpee dry off. Once Whumpee was fully dry, their tail severed into a pair of legs.
“Now, I’m not sure what humans eat these days, but the last time I surfaced I got to learn how to make a really good sandwich.” Caretaker turned to Whumpee, “Do you think you can eat one?”
“Oh, you don’t have to-”
“Hush,” Caretaker said, “I’m happy to help you. Besides, you need the energy. Now, ham or turkey?”

Based on actual events
I made my first writer designs!

https://www.redbubble.com/people/Creweemmaeec11/shop?asc=u
What do you guys think? I was first inspired when I saw the Halloween x Writer designs that @writing-prompt-s made. I just loved the idea of making some writer-themed designs. These first ones are simple with none of my actual drawings on them, but that will change! I have ideas for a couple more designs coming up soon :3
I'd also love to hear any suggestions you guys have!
Reblogs help a lot <3

Reblog if I can go on your page and write stupid things in your ask box whenever I'd like to.

THROUGH A RAPIST’S EYES” (PLS TAKE TIME TO READ THIS. It may save a life, It may save your life.)
An Article from Neena Susan Thomas
“Through a rapist’s eyes. A group of rapists and date rapists in prison were interview…ed on what they look for in a potential victim and here are some interesting facts:
1] The first thing men look for in a potential victim is hairstyle. They are most likely to go after a woman with a ponytail, bun! , braid, or other hairstyle that can easily be grabbed. They are also likely to go after a woman with long hair. Women with short hair are not common targets.
2] The second thing men look for is clothing. They will look for women who’s clothing is easy to remove quickly. Many of them carry scissors around to cut clothing.
3] They also look for women using their cell phone, searching through their purse or doing other activities while walking because they are off guard and can be easily overpowered.
4] The number one place women are abducted from / attacked at is grocery store parking lots.
5] Number two is office parking lots/garages.
6] Number three is public restrooms.
7] The thing about these men is that they are looking to grab a woman and quickly move her to a second location where they don’t have to worry about getting caught.
8] If you put up any kind of a fight at all, they get discouraged because it only takes a minute or two for them to realize that going after you isn’t worth it because it will be time-consuming.
9] These men said they would not pick on women who have umbrellas,or other similar objects that can be used from a distance, in their hands.
10] Keys are not a deterrent because you have to get really close to the attacker to use them as a weapon. So, the idea is to convince these guys you’re not worth it.
POINTS THAT WE SHOULD REMEMBER:
1] If someone is following behind you on a street or in a garage or with you in an elevator or stairwell, look them in the face and ask them a question, like what time is it, or make general small talk: can’t believe it is so cold out here, we’re in for a bad winter. Now that you’ve seen their faces and could identify them in a line- up, you lose appeal as a target.
2] If someone is coming toward you, hold out your hands in front of you and yell Stop or Stay back! Most of the rapists this man talked to said they’d leave a woman alone if she yelled or showed that she would not be afraid to fight back. Again, they are looking for an EASY target.
3] If you carry pepper spray (this instructor was a huge advocate of it and carries it with him wherever he goes,) yelling I HAVE PEPPER SPRAY and holding it out will be a deterrent.
4] If someone grabs you, you can’t beat them with strength but you can do it by outsmarting them. If you are grabbed around the waist from behind, pinch the attacker either under the arm between the elbow and armpit or in the upper inner thigh – HARD. One woman in a class this guy taught told him she used the underarm pinch on a guy who was trying to date rape her and was so upset she broke through the skin and tore out muscle strands the guy needed stitches. Try pinching yourself in those places as hard as you can stand it; it really hurts.
5] After the initial hit, always go for the groin. I know from a particularly unfortunate experience that if you slap a guy’s parts it is extremely painful. You might think that you’ll anger the guy and make him want to hurt you more, but the thing these rapists told our instructor is that they want a woman who will not cause him a lot of trouble. Start causing trouble, and he’s out of there.
6] When the guy puts his hands up to you, grab his first two fingers and bend them back as far as possible with as much pressure pushing down on them as possible. The instructor did it to me without using much pressure, and I ended up on my knees and both knuckles cracked audibly.
7] Of course the things we always hear still apply. Always be aware of your surroundings, take someone with you if you can and if you see any odd behavior, don’t dismiss it, go with your instincts. You may feel little silly at the time, but you’d feel much worse if the guy really was trouble.
FINALLY, PLEASE REMEMBER THESE AS WELL ….
1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do it.
2. Learned this from a tourist guide to New Orleans : if a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you…. chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!
3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car: Kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won’t see you but everybody else will. This has saved lives.
4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DON’T DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU CLOSE the DOORS , LEAVE.
5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:
a. Be aware: look around your car as someone may be hiding at the passenger side , peek into your car, inside the passenger side floor, and in the back seat. ( DO THIS TOO BEFORE RIDING A TAXI CAB) .
b. If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
c. Look at the car parked on the driver’s side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)
6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot).
7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN!
8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP IT! It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked “for help” into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.
Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it and it’s better safe than sorry.
