Since I found some fellow Arslan appreciators, I shall share my collected fanart. Arslan Senki is quite a niche fandom, so all the art I have is either commissioned or made myself.

And this one by my friend Katie (Kin the Artist on Instagram) who is now a professional illustrator! No surprise there. Her art has always been amazing.

Feels very heartwarming to go and look for what the Japanese fans thought of the latest chapter and see multiple people now hoping for / theorising about a happy ending for Hilmes and Irina in Maryam, and two of them even mentioned Zandeh as well!

Another take on my Wings of Pages concept. This time it's drawn in Procreate instead of SAI.

The hardest part was writing all those words onto each page. It's 50% real text from books and poems and songs, and 50% chicken scratch lol

A stark contrast against Arslan's personable, warm way of interacting with his subjects. Andragoras is... distant and sharp and cold.

No, Arslan, it's not you who has something wrong with. It's them. My god, it's them.

It's only natural to be unable to feel relief upon reuniting with people who's always kept you at a twenty-foot-pole's length and never treated you warmly, they might as well be strangers (captors, wardens) to you and it's hard to feel any affection for strangers.

Even feelings of dread would be natural in this sort of situation.

Nothing's wrong with you, my boy.

Kishward can probably tell this does not bode well.

A genius use of perspective. We're looking up at him, from perhaps a similar vantage point as Arslan or anyone who's kneeling behind him— he is King, untouchable, distant, imposing, towering over and bearing down on us.

And look at how his head is framed, the sun ornament on the seat aligns with his head. As if to assert the association the Shah had with the sun. As if to assert his authority even in the way he is framed to the audience.

Upon high-heaven two suns there cannot be, on this earth the Shah is but one!

And Arslan has to respond accordingly— address Andragoras not as a father but as an authority figure.

The Turanian arc well and truly fed my little Isfan-loving heart :D

I promised you some Wolfpack!Hilmes and I'm here to deliver: consider Hilmes, can't decide pre or post coronation, having to deal with rebuilding the country, reforming the court perhaps not from the ground up but something close to it, and...

Well there are some power-hungru folk and imagine that at least some of them are particularly stupid.

Cue Hilmes in the council room (what's it called?) trying not to face-plant directly into the stairs leading up to his seat or even sigh, looking so done because some dumbass is droning on and on about an entirely irrelevant matter (the garden size lord says hello) and he looks at Areyan (because he snatched him up being all “I can't deal with this alone!”) and even the boy looks just about ready to sink into his seat and sulk.

Aka: Shah Hilmes shenanigans in court. He's gonna be so tired.

All I can say is, it's going to be a steep learning curve for him! He's never done this before, and I bet it is exhausting (this is where the value of having good retainers comes in). I can see him losing his patience in situations like this, to be honest, because how is it a priority? Areyan will have to teach him how to be diplomatic where it matters. Anyway this is a great antidote to my WIP!Hilmes who has uhh let's say rather limited thoughts on the specifics of rebuilding the country after he becomes Shah.
