Stepping out of the vehicle he’d arranged as transport, Roman cut an unusually colourful figure in hues of teal and saturated red instead of his usual white and black. The Cathedral of Crime Alley, once having laid abandoned for years was positively bustling with activity as people came from far and wide to celebrate Edward and Rokshana’s wedding, with yet more guests arriving by the minute. Casting an eye around the place, it wasn’t long before he spotted the man everybody had come to see. Edward was already here, greeting all who came to him but he looked... bewildered, eyes darting around as nervously as his hands. Roman supposed he couldn’t really blame the man - anybody would be feeling the same where they in his position right now so he made his way over, ensuring his approach was in sight at all times. “Congratulations on your special day, Edward. I like the suit.” Roman said with a nod of approval, clapping one of Edward’s green-clad shoulders in what he hoped was a reassuring manner before lowering his voice to a playful whisper. “Just so you know, there’s still time to call everything off if you’ve changed your mind.” He added with a chuckle.

There was still time before the ceremony started, but Edward was already there, pacing by the entrance, clearly nervous. He was fidgeting with his hands, making an anxious noise that seemed completely involuntary.

He had read that it would be nice to actually receive the guests while he didn't have to go to the altar, but the best he could do was a give a wide-eyed, desperate look into the direction of people, and sometimes a belated nod.

The scuffle had been as violent as it had been abrupt, fists flying in the darkness as bullets and yells ricocheted off the walls. Roman cursed angrily as he strained his eyes to see where his gun had dropped amongst all the chaos, one of his idiot men having shot out the overhead lights when somebody quite literally dropped in on the group unannounced. "Down to three... what's wrong with you idiots..." He spat at a nearby body, ignoring the unconscious figure as instead his fingers reached towards a metallic glimmer he hoped was his missing firearm. This wasn’t his first rodeo dealing with a nuisance getting involved in his business. Roman had been through similar experiences before, it was only natural being a criminal in Gotham but few opponents he’d faced had been nearly as relentless or hard-hitting as whoever this fucker was. The ache in his hand was proof of that, a solid whack from the newcomer somehow forcing him to drop his weapon but Black Mask was nothing short of ferocious when it came to an all-out brawl. A third henchman dropped, and seizing the opportunity, Roman jumped up and rushed the figure. He fully intended on delivering a solid beatdown as payment for his hand, for the whole goddamn fucking mess he’d caused but underestimated just how well the newcomer could see in the gloom, able to tell he was coming even with his back turned. The world span as criminal and stranger struggled, ending with Roman’s back slamming solidly against the wall. He breathed heavily, both from the exertion of the struggle and having the wind knocked out of his lungs as he finally stared at the face of whoever this vigilante was.

“Just who the hell are you getting involved in my business? You ain’t no Bat...” Roman growled lowly, teeth bared in a blatant refusal to submit.

He has indeed, though it didn’t necessarily start off that way. Roman actually used to be against the idea of having one night stands but when both of his long-term relationships failed, he began considering the idea. It took a while for him to come around to actually trying it out since he took the loss of his second girlfriend hard and couldn’t bear the thought of dating a THIRD time, but then he realized... he enjoyed sex, not to mention was a wealthy man who had a certain appeal so now he was single, why not make the most of it? After he had his first experience hooking up, he got addicted. Fast. It came and went in waves where he’d focus primarily on his criminal activities for weeks, even months at a time but during quieter periods? He’d charm the latest person who caught his eye into his bed, occasionally calling them back for another round. Money made things a lot easier to deal with, especially without any messy feelings getting involved so Roman hasn’t really looked back since, especially after the incident that caused his mask to fuse to his face.

🎥  - He’s never admitted it to anybody but Roman’s celebrity crush is Roxy Rocket. While not an actress so therefore not a ‘true’ celebrity, he was taken by her deeds performing as a stunt double, finding them to be far more interesting than the titular actress she stood in for during action scenes. His admiration only grew when, upon losing her job because no company would insure her, took her thrill-seeking to the next level and became a minor supervillain in Gotham. Unlike many criminals who were in it for wealth, power or simply to cause murder and mayhem, Roxy’s crimes were fairly benign in nature given that she preferred the thrill of danger over committing serious offences. While the two have never actually spoken to one another, Roman enjoys hearing about her latest encounters with Batman and still has a few ‘behind the scenes’ discs of movies from when she was still employed as a stunt double. 🎀 - As to who Roman would sleep with if anybody ever had to know, it might possibly be Catwoman? It’s been shown in comics that Roman can become fixated on certain individuals and develop some truly nasty obsessions, Catwoman notably being one of them. He’s not sure whether he’d like to sleep with her or torture her on a psychological level far beyond that of most of his victims, but she holds a unique interest for the man that even he’s not sure how it happened exactly.

While he might not seem the type, Roman is an excellent escapist when he wants to be. He learned from an early age how to make discreet exits from parties and other obnoxious events his parents would drag him to which only grew in his later years as a criminal. His first few encounters with Batman led to multiple escapes until at last he was caught during the incident which caused his mask to fuse to his face and was the only convict confirmed to have ever escaped Arkham City before his recapture at the hands of Hugo Strange and his TYGER guards.
