I keep forgetting that my knowledge of where other countries are on a map isn't the norm in the US lol

I mentioned to someone once about my Mexican-American brother's question of "Colombia borders Mexico, right?" But I just remembered another story

(Me talking to my nephew about Bob Marley: One Love)

Him: Well anyway, I liked the movie, but I just don't get why they had them speak Afrikaans throughout the movie

Me:...They don't speak Afrikaans in Jamaica

Him: Really?...No, there has to be some speakers over there

Me: Maybe, but it's primarily spoken in South Africa

Him: No, there has to be more.

Me: Well there are some speakers in Namibia, but only really in Africa, not Jamaica.

Him:....Jamaica is in Africa, stupid🙄

Thinking back to a funny interaction I had working at Dollar Tree in Rapid City. They would let us play our music on a speaker. This Mexican guy walks up "You're the one who always plays the spanish canciones, right?" (His words not mine)

"Yes, but I don't speak it well" (Thinking he was gonna try to pull out his fluent motherland spanish)

"It's ok, I just need to know, are any of your canciones Christian?"

"No, no christian. Argentinian"(I think Fito Páez was playing at the time)

"Ah" he says, then walks off.

....I still don't know what that interaction was about lol

and looking back, my response was just funny. Like "No sir, no Christian songs, only sinful Argentinian ones😔"
