Now that I'm tuckered out of Marvel, not that I was a huge fan, just of the MCU, and some of the cartoons, but very much a Spider-Man/Deadpool fan, I've been going on a huge DC binge, watching all of the good cartoons, Comics, and Movies I could've been watching instead of Marvel.

But despite how much I'm getting back into Batman, and how much I absolutely love his stories, villains, and movies, I hate Batman himself.

Can't really get behind the very idea of him. This rich broody person decided that instead of making a true change from within, he's running around in a bat costume doing ninja moves on people only to put them in a mental asylum that hasn't done a thing to actually reform them.

I also inherently disagree with his no-killing rule, when he literally has mother fuckers like the Joker who's killing masses of people to try to prove a point to him that he should've killed him already.

The only Batman stories where I feel Bruce Wayne works as a character are the grounded detective ones where we can assume he's the only hero there because anytime he's having trouble finding people in the universes where the Justice League are there, then why isn't he calling on the Flash to help him search the city, or Superman to use his super hearing?

I texted in sick today, and it's really sad that I have to put my phone on silent and just not check it cause I know for a fact that I'm gonna be getting every type of text but a "get well soon" text from my boss.

Very sorry about that, my sickness didn't give me a two-week notice either, this is honestly on them, and will not look good on their resume.

I texted in sick today, and it's really sad that I have to put my phone on silent and just not check it cause I know for a fact that I'm gonna be getting every type of text but a "get well soon" text from my boss.

Honestly, when you think about it, Managers keep threatening that an AI can do better than us at our job to like fear monger us into working harder, but it would literally be cheaper for the company to not have to pay a stupid piece of shit $20 an hour to stand around and give slight critiques throughout the day.

An AI would be able to do the count-out more accurately, and would actually have the backbone to say no to the Karens that come in.

(I should prolly preface all of this by saying that I'm still a fan of Helluva and Hazbin, and don't have strong opinions of Vivziepop as a person)

Don't remember where I heard this, but I heard something about Brandon Rogers not being the co-writer for Helluva Boss when season 2 started, and if that's the case, then it makes sense why this season has had a difficult time tying up season 1 plot points, and making them feel satisfying.

After binging Brandon Rogers, I can confirm this man is a master at tying the loosest of ends that you didn't even know were there, and after being blown away by some of his characters and series, it just makes me wonder how much input he's allowed, or is allowing himself, to have now.

This thing could devolve into the messiest chart and graph of character plotpoints and stories, and this dude if given full control I believe would be able to wrap the best bow on the story.

My best guess is that he's simply taking a step back to focus on his own channel, which is understandable, just very disappointed to see when you can just feel that there was definitely some internal change in the shift from Season 1 to 2.

(Postface: Should also mention that there are probably a bunch of factors other than this, not trying to put the sole blame on Brandon)

I've seen a lot of weird answers as to what the American accent is associated with.

One person I remember said they associated it with cartoons, so when they saw an American irl as a little kid, they were weirded out.

One person said they associate it with movies, news, and in-your-face showmans, which is interesting.

And a German person told my Mom way back when, when she teased his accent, that us Americans sound really nasally, annoying, and like "Wuah Wuah Wuah Wuah"

There is no real conclusion other than that German people can't take a joke.

My Lakota and Washoe side have been here for centuries, but my Scottish side came here as slave traders initially, which makes me very not proud of that side lol

im mostly interested in how many ppl are children of immigrants, so if one of your parents is an immigrant and one isn't, vote parents are immigrants. for previous generations, choose whichever applies to most members of that generation or if that doesn't work, whichever feels most right to you.

I find it funny how people were blaming Israel bombing South Lebanon on Hamas somehow.

Y'all, please don't make Tumblr self-implode. I may not've been on Tumblr for too long in comparison to others, but straight up, this is the first site that I just immediately clicked with.

There are just so many practical things about the user experience that make me wonder why this site didn't get the same level of popularity as Twitter did.

The fact that you can turn your blog into your own personalized space that reflects you, the text and image limit being longer, and the format of reblogs that builds off of other reblogs. It's the perfect system that naturally just creates good memes, good posts, and promotes artists and comic makers well.

If this site does die, which I don't entirely think will happen, like how Twitter is still alive, even if it's a walking corpse of its former self, I'm also on Masto Bluesky and Co-host

I know I'm thinking very far into the future, and this most likely would never happen, but I would never want any of the stories I have planned to blow up.

There is so much responsibility with apologizing for your fanbase, with fanbases naturally evolving to always have toxic people, that if I were somehow able to blow up to the same level as the Hazbin fanbase (once again, most likely to never happen), I would just stop talking on social media at all lol

I would become the enigma author, and mute any words having to do with my series, as well as just cycling through 10 different anonymous social media alts, keep doing that until my series ends, wait a couple of more years, and then MAYBE go back to find out what the audience consensus was, but only after there's been enough time that I wouldn't feel responsible for anything that happened back then lol

Like I would maybe find out that my hypothetical series was actually treated positively, but that's more unlikely to the idea that this hypothetical series would have some lows, there would be people tearing into the lows, then there would be toxic fans defending the lows instead of acknowledging flaws, and the conflict just gets so ugly that no new people would want to get into it, like with every other major popular series lol

I know that factually speaking, weekly shows are better. Factually speaking, if you want to make your show have a longer impact then weekly is better, for both the series runners and the fans, as the fans will have a longer time for their favorite show to be in the public consciousness and be actively talked about (looking at how the Jojo part 6 anime only got talked about for a week at max for each part until we forgot about it)

But also, my ADHD brain doesn't caaaaaaaaaaaaaare. Please, give it all to me at once, I need to BINGE. I need to know what happens after the cliffhanger. I need to have the ability to spend an entire day watching something until I'm either satisfied or get tired.

Old post, but genuinely still upset about this. The song came on when I randomized my playlist and I felt so sad.

Doing more research into the subject of the band's politics, I found this

And somehow this makes it even worse. The fact that these very charged and emotional songs, like FtM, don't actually have anything to say makes it way worse. You make a song called Change, about how we need to change, but then lead along both sides to get needlessly restless about this supposed other.

Fearmongering the evil man behind the scenes saying "Here's to the greater good for all." when we can't even figure out who that evil man is supposed to represent, is just bullshit.

This song is already very popular with a lot of leftists, with most people having imagined it as the perfect song for their stories about greedy rich capitalists exploiting the workers, but then this song is also made to keep the far-right fanbase happy too.

And Rightoids interpreting songs wrong isn't new, but knowing that the song was made politically vague on purpose to appease the right as well as the left makes things like this frustrating:

Tldr for the video, since I'm not linking it, Dave Portnoy is complaining about Governments making small businesses close down for Covid, with PMP quote tweeting it and confirming that yeah, FtM is supposed to be an anti-lockdown song, which still just frustrates me to no end.

I feel like I'm encouraging that behavior by streaming and listening to their songs, showing the algorithm that people want more of this band who doesn't have shit to say in their songs, cause they know they'd lose a big chunk of their audience for their center-right/far-right views.

And I still don't really know what to do. Even if I try to interpret the song the way I want, trying to reclaim it, remembering the original context just frustrates me. Rightoids literally think that at any moment we could be one socialist president away from living in a factory state that exploits the poor, rather than the more feasible and right-around-the-corner future of living in a Corporate dystopia that liberally feeds the poor to the "machine."

How do you reason with somebody like that? How do you reason with somebody for whom the boogeyman that their mind has made up has gotten so big and scary for them? How do you tell them that their boogeyman isn't there when they truly believe with all of their hearts until the day they die that the boogeyman is still there, waiting to "destroy the nuclear family" "destroy all that is good and holy" "destroy tradition" "destroy our hard work"

This reminder of what goes on in their mindset just sours the song so much for me.

Really disappointed rn to find out that "Feed the Machine by Poor Man's Poison was actually supposed to be about teh socialist dems making you stay home from Covid, and not the cool pro-worker anthem that I thought it was, or that many of it's fans thought it was, or that the songwriters might've thought it was.

Building off of this, I love how non-natives make it look like we're dressed up as Dancers 24/7 when most Native-made OCs have us just looking like any other average Joe lol

Personal advice to anybody wanting to make a Native OC is just to make them look like any other person rather than trying to pretend that you know what we wear at sundance.

Make a native dude with a shirt that says "I paused my game to be here." Most realistic depiction of a modern-day native dude, 10/10 representation. Literally me.

And feel free to give em white names, most of my cousins have the most white ass names ever. Name em John Brown, or Joe Schmitt, or.... Hank Hill or something idk

You also don't have to know our personal slang to make your character seem realistic, most natives my age I know just use any other Gen Z slang

What's messed up is that she's Native, but still refuses to see the Palestinian struggles as parallel to our struggles.

Just when I finally thought I found a middle ground with her, when I thought that I was able to convince her that if not to condemn the concept of Israel, to at least condemn the actions of the Netanyahu government, nothing.

Nothing will stop a Christian Zionist. Her idealogy automatically makes her believe that the Palestinians are lesser. Any evil done by the Israeli government has the protection of God, while the fighting back of Palestinians shows how they don't deserve their homeland.

An IDF soldier can r*pe and kill a thousand families, and he has the protection of God, but a man defending his family from the IDF soldier has committed a grave sin by killing his attacker.

I'm not sure when I'll be willing to talk to her again. I'm sure I will because she's my mother and I love her, but she gives me tears of frustration with how she stays purposefully ignorant so she can think of Israel as the perfect nation protected by God.
