Dd's Episode Is The First One I Wrote, When I Was Still At The Noodling Stage Of I Need A Miracle, And
Dédé's episode is the first one I wrote, when I was still at the noodling stage of I Need A Miracle, and so it's probably the one I rewrote the most times, both to get the story and character right, and to stay current with changes I made to the story, setting and series as a whole. If you ever listened to Natalie Winter's Ragged Scratch podcast, or if you saw the I Need A Miracle page when it first went up on foggyoutline.com, you may have heard an early version of this script performed by Devika Joshi. Maybe that version will resurface as bonus content? Who knows?
"They said the script was gonna make it easier. Sounded like a great idea."
Jillin, the Campaigner – played by Dédé Davi

In your benevolence, the Campaigner appeals for Justice for Meridian Veccole.
@merelymatt says, in some places I've given Dédé an "and introducing" credit, because before we cast her in I Need A Miracle, she'd mainly done corporate voiceover (alongside being a singer). She really put the work in, and I don't think you'd ever guess this performance was a debut. It was important to me and (I think) to casting director Fiona Thraille as well to cast a mix of experienced and early-career voice actors. I'd absolutely love if this performance launches Dédé to bigger and better things.

Some people make fiction podcasts because it can just be easier to let a character say and feel the things we’re scared to and it’s kind a miracle that we can do that because it can be very healing
I could watch a whole episode of Take Some Direction. And I've started using a version of it (with somewhat more hinged prompts) in the classes I teach at my day job

I'm listening through what may well be the final round of fine edits on season 1 – send me the fortitude to not get too used to the words and the performances and the sounds (or worse, get tired of them) after listening carefully to each one 3 or 4 times! Ward me against that thing where you hear the word Benevolence so many times it loses all meaning!
Can any world survive a benevolent god?
Coming Summer 2024 from @foggyoutline and @wirelesstheatre:

In this upcoming audio drama podcast, each episode is a prayer, some prayers are granted, and a granted prayer can upend the world.
For fans of

Each episode of I Need A Miracle is a short monologue. A new character every episode. Never the same character twice. Always addressing a plea to a listening deity – which never makes a sound.
Play god
You, the listener, stand in for a silently listening god. Hear brazen demands for divine intervention and vulnerable, secret pleas for deliverance. Whose requests would you grant and why? Does anyone deserve a miracle?
Play detective
Which pleas are granted? How does the listening being decide? What are the Upheavals that regularly wrack this world? What threatens to rise from the Depths? And can any being with ultimate power truly be benevolent?
Play the heartstrings
I Need A Miracle is all about the many kinds of wanting, and the many ways of asking for help. How would you make your case to an omnipotent being who grants some miracles but not others, based on ineffable criteria?
