There's precedent in the Duchess of Borogravia, and in his arc. He keeps getting promotions, and hates each one. What higher status could he be unwillingly raised to than divinity, eternally watching the watchman?

Ya know what I think is the most amazing? When a machine that was immobile in the original work gets a body to puppeteer in fanworks/aus/etc that while mostly humanoid reflects their own nature. Gimme a GLaDOS with smooth plastic over sharp edges. A Hex who appears to have accumulated, rather than been built. An AM who, I dunno, is covered in HATE in red sharpie. Makes me go mad.
