Chapter 1

My Dear Husband

I woke up at 6:00am. I got off my bed and went to my bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror. Hello, my name is Mary Josephine Chaffer. I am 16 and I am married to my 28 year old husband named Joseph. When I was 13 I had fallen in love with Joseph. I moved to America with Joseph when I was 14. So I have been living here for 2 years. I always wake up early so I can get ready for my husband to look at me for a couple of minutes before he heads off to work. I use the bathroom, take a bath, and my maid does my hair and makeup. If you didn't know already, I am living in luxury with my husband. Once I'm done getting ready for the day I head downstairs where my husband is already eating his breakfast. “Good morning my love.” My dear husband Joseph told me as I sat down next to him. “Good morning.” I told him as I kissed his cheek. Naturally, the table is filled with food that my maids have prepared. I always wanted to cook food. But my husband thinks i'm not capable of cooking anything because of my age. But who am I to say anything? This is the life any girl has ever dreamed of! At this time it's 7:10. I started to grab some toast and scrambled eggs from the large platters and put them on my plate. I get full very easily, especially when I eat eggs. “So, how are your sketches going?” Joseph asked me politely. My dear husband has always been interested in my dreams of being a fashion designer. He tells me when I finish school I can go to fashion school. In all, it's not really school. I'm homeschooled because “god forbid I go to school with other people my age.” My husband says. He thinks if I go to school I will find a man my age and fall in love with him. My husband isn't the most confident. I am quite thankful I don't have to go to real school. Even so, I think I would learn more if I went to a real school. “They are going great actually! I’m almost done with a new dress design.” I replied happily as the maids poured me some orange juice in a glass on the table and I started to eat. “Good, make sure you give them to me after work.” My husband replied and I nodded as I continued to eat. Ever since I started making those sketches he brings them to a professional who makes them and they always fit me perfectly! Gosh how I love my husband! “At what time do you think you’ll be home?” I asked him as I took a sip of my orange juice.”hum…I’m not sure. Hopefully by eight.” Joseph said as he scarfed down his food. He then stood up and grabbed the briefcase that was next to him on the ground. “I need to go now my love.” He told me as he kissed me cheek and I did the same. “Be safe. Please get home by eight…” I told him as he rushed to the front door while I kept sitting. “I’ll try my best! Bye dear!”
