Don't get me wrong, it definitely works in some regards. Space dictator who is soulless enough to shatter/kill anyone who steps out of line. Doesn't see people as equal. Separates their people into tiers of their society. It makes sense right?

But you need to take into consideration that the whole message of Steven Universe is about forgiveness and love and The Condesce is literally none of that. If her constant genocide couldn’t be stopped by the troll version of Jesus, I doubt some kid from Beach city could do much better.

Instead I chose Feferi Peixes.

Don't get me wrong, Feferi would never do like any of what White Diamond does. But in terms of the AU, some things change.

[BADLY WRITTEN BACKGROUND PLOT STUFF]

The empire was ruled solely by The Condesce for thousands upon millions of years, every aspect of gem society had been affected by her in some way, shape, and form.

However this is where the story is more affected by Homestuck. Every 100,000 years or so, a Diamond is created somewhere in the universe. Never on purpose. Most had been found and shattered very quickly, in fear that one day, one of them will rise up and take the Condesce's place in power. The materials needed to create a Diamond were also starting to run thin, so she was becoming certain in her victory.

That all changed when Feferi showed up.

Magenta Diamond. Her power was different from the other diamonds that had came before her,she had a power similar to the dictator herself. She could control.

Feferi prevailed after many many years of struggle and took control of the gem empire, shattering The Condesce once and for all.

She decided to make a rule for herself after that. She was to protect any and all fellow Diamonds, not daring to shatter any of them, and instead invite them into her home.

In doing so, throughout the years, Yellow Diamond, Green Diamond, and Blue Diamond were brought into the empire. After, no more Diamonds had been created, as blue Diamond was a result of the materials lacking.

They were a family, and while though Feferi may have treated her fellow diamonds with respect, she was still under the idea that not all gems were created equal, as that's all she has known. She was kind but cruel. She would treat them nicely enough but she could easily have them shattered with not much thought to it.

True, her empire was much kinder than The Condesce but it was far from perfect.

It only got worse at the news of Blue's shattering.

Her plan to keep the other diamonds from being shattered failed, she had failed to protect her family, she failed at being a ruler, she failed at being everything she stood for.

She would close herself off from Yellow and Green, scared of doing anything worse than what she had already done. She closed herself off from everyone.

(I chose her because she has a personality and can have her mind changed. The Condesce needed to be murdered with fire.)

If you were to vacuum up jello through a metal tube, well I think that’d be a neat noise 

jade as amethyst???

You see, that would really be nice in terms of consistency by having all the beta kids be crystal gems. but

Amethyst isn’t Jade. If you think about it for a couple seconds, you could understand where I come from. And I wanna do something with Jade that wouldn’t work if she was Amethyst.

So Vriska is Amethyst!

Vriska is the type that either needs to be in a high place of power to thrive or isn’t and chooses to not listen to the rules of that society.

The two characters that are in a high place of power and suits her personality in SU is either Emerald (which is immediately disqualified due to being too much of a side character) or Aquamarine, which some people have made her to be. Which is honestly really works. However it really works in the timeline where Vriska dies. Where she doesn’t grow as a person and gets brushed aside from the plot. I wanted the timeline of her where she grows and becomes a better version of herself, especially because that’s the whole thing of SU, and Aquamarine can’t do that for her character. But Amethyst can.

And Amethyst hasn’t ever needed to ever submit to the social hierarchy that is gem society.

(Also instead of making her insecurity being short for a Quartz, I made it that she is blind out of one eye and has no arm. She is currently using a super outdated limb enhancer to combat this.)
