Would you guys prefer regular chapters that come out regularly (chap/2-3 week) or longer ones that takes longer and are irregular?

I prefer longer ones :D

Interesting... I guess each option comes with their own pros & cons. I also prefer the longer ones since that would allow the plot to be more in depth.

Thanks, hun. I’ll keep that in mind. 🌿 💚💚

I really can’t believe that this chapter was 16k. The time that was consumed reading through this chapter was definitely well spent, and it didn’t even take that long with how smooth you have written it.

I really enjoy how much hybrid Hoseok resemble the real Hoseok in the aspect that he constantly remains positive yet not naive to his surroundings. Each character really does provides a key element to the plot with their own unique personalities and characteristics. I literally can’t take my attention away from the chapter as soon as I started because of how easily entrancing it is.

The way you executed this really shows how eloquent you are with your words and how you can manipulate them into something memorable. Really, what is your secret? Share it with a fellow writer!

A/N: And here we have another chapter I had to cut in the middle. The next chapter is almost done though and will be posted next week, maybe earlier if I find more time to write.

Yoongi would have slammed the door if Hoseok hadn’t been sleeping. His hands were trembling. Inside, he was breaking glass and thunder. Outside, the room was too quiet. Instead of shattering the small statue on the shelf that had been watching them since the day they had arrived, he threw himself on his bed over the covers.

The sheets rustled as Hoseok turned in his sleep.

They had become spoiled living in this place. Sleeping in a comfortable bed and eating as much food as they wanted. They had to leave. Yoongi couldn’t stay in this house full of luxuries anymore. He had to take Hoseok with him and get as far from this place as he could. He should have been more clever and left when you had been away in Virginia. That way he could have stayed ignorant.

Hybrids were nothing but cheap entertainment for humans, most of all the rich ones. What other reason could there be to adopt four hybrids? Yoongi shuddered. They were sub-human, property. The laws protecting them were nothing in comparison to the laws condemning them.

Humans never had innocent intentions when it came to hybrids, he had learnt that the hard way. It was easy to manipulate someone when you owned them, easy to break them. Yoongi had ignored the signs before. He had seen the way that vile man used to treat Jimin and how Jimin flinched at unexpected touches. He had seen them and yet he had done nothing. Nothing, until it had been too late. A stab pierced his stomach thinking about that night. He couldn’t stay silent this time.

Y/N is planning to do an execution for traitors she found out about. Will the harem boys be on the execution stage well? Or will they prefer not to? What will be their reactions? Assuming that will be their first time

HaremAu!

BTS’ Reaction To An Execution

Warning : Gore ( indirect)

A/n: This request have been hanging out in my inbox for some time and I’ve finally been able to get around it and finish it.

Generally, none of them will actually be on the platform since there is a specific spot that have been reserved for them. However, I will be assessing about their preference on where they stand. Enjoy 🌿

Kim Taehyung

Depending on how bloodied it may gets, Taehyung will choose his spot during the process. Unlike most impressions of him, Taehyung does not have a weak heart and can handle the gore. So if he were to stand on the platform and directly watch it at a close proximity, it wouldn’t faze him as much as some of the others.

Taehyung, of course, doesn’t need to watch such a thing go down but if you insist on being that close, he will join you without much complaint.

Watching an execution go down wouldn’t be Taehyung’s first time since he had been active in the industry for quite a while. As a result, you won’t really get a major reaction out of him except for the occasion winces or twitches that he unconsciously lets out. Though, those little trivial movements is enough to indicate his discomfort in the situation.

“ Y/Nnn, why do you have to be there? I don’t want to be there but I have to be with you.”

Y/N Is Planning To Do An Execution For Traitors She Found Out About. Will The Harem Boys Be On The Execution

Kim Namjoon

He’s another one that is not fazing with the idea of execution. Logically, Namjoon wouldn’t need to be there on the platform since he isn’t needed there. However, there is always a physician on standby just in case something went wrong. The physician could be him or someone that has been appointed by Namjoon, himself.

However, if you were to be on the platform, more drastic measures will be made, including him being on the platform for extra safety precautions. With the countless time seeing fresh flesh, an execution is just another sight that will be compile in his memories, in which doesn’t really have any major affects on him.

Like Taehyung, it’s most likely not Namjoon’s first time witnessing an execution. But to directly watch it is not part of a daily routine he is use to but he won’t have any significant reaction if he see something that can be categorized as traumatizing.

“ Don’t swing it too hard, it will just be harder to clean.”

Y/N Is Planning To Do An Execution For Traitors She Found Out About. Will The Harem Boys Be On The Execution

Jung Hoseok

Now moving on to the less experienced people. Hoseok definitely won’t ever be used to this kind of situation, especially during his first time witnessing it. As a result, even if you’re on the stage, Hoseok has little to no faith in himself of behaving normally during the entire process. it is almost impossible for him to keep himself grounded at the thought of people dying.

If it a less bloodied scene, Hoseok would at least be able to hold in the screams of horror, and would only adorn a terrified expression. In more adultery scenes, Hoseok is definitely less subtle in his reactions. Either way, he wouldn’t be comfortable with the situation at all, no matter how many times he had witness it.

Remembering the looks of terror was never as traumatizing as the calmness glazed over people’s eyes, despite knowing that their time is coming closer. Hoseok will secretly be scared at the thought of attending such events but he wouldn’t tell you, knowing that you would also be there.

“ Do I-I... have to be on the platform also? Can I stay with the other ministers?”

Y/N Is Planning To Do An Execution For Traitors She Found Out About. Will The Harem Boys Be On The Execution

Min Yoongi

Yoongi is an interesting one. With his cool persona, most people wouldn’t be able to pick up any strong emotions from him except for the occasion of disgust. However, deep within, Yoongi can be majorly affected by the scene if it was anyone close to him. However, if it was others, his reaction can be varied.

If it was civilians, then he would be bewildered by the fact that innocent lives are getting sacrificed. Yoongi would barely bashed an eye on prisoners and rebels since they deserved it. Despite these being quite generic, people associated with Yoongi’s past would affect him the most.

Yoongi would be fine being on the platform of the execution but doing that would put him in the spotlight. Too much attention would only agitate Yoongi to defend himself and it’s not worth it.

“ What do I feel right now? I-I don’t know... But I also understand that this needs to be done.”

Y/N Is Planning To Do An Execution For Traitors She Found Out About. Will The Harem Boys Be On The Execution

Jeon Jungkook

Another one who is not very affected by the whole situation. Rather, Jungkook would either find it amusing or boring, it really just depend on whoever is presented. Jungkook have also have a fair share of contributing to this matter so it really is no surprise that he is more prepared than the average watcher.

Jungkook is also fine with being wherever, as long as he is by your side. He would follow you to their stage without a single complaint and would remain there for however long you want.

Saying that this execution is his first is most definitely him lying with a straight face. The concept of execution might not be a normal thing but with how the previous dynasty was structured, it is hard to accept his words by face value. Furthermore, one wouldn’t expect the personal bodyguard of the monarch to be inexperienced right?

“ They deserved it... Looks like we’re done for today.”

Y/N Is Planning To Do An Execution For Traitors She Found Out About. Will The Harem Boys Be On The Execution

Kim Seokjin

Rather than being terrified or unaffected, Seokjin would be disgusted with the entire event. He doesn’t see the need to dirty a place with these kind of people and would rather not attend it. Luckily, with his position, he has a choice of attending the event.

If it was his first time witnessing an execution, Seokjin would have a more exaggerated expression with grimaces and scrunches all over. But with time, all remain is the disgusted feeling he has for the practice.

As an envoy, it is not appropriate nor is his spot to be on the platform of execution of another country. As a result, if he were to attend the execution, he would be among the other ministers sitting in the front rows but not on the actual stage.

“ What’s the point of assigning such an event to this location? Do they want to ruin the scene?”

Y/N Is Planning To Do An Execution For Traitors She Found Out About. Will The Harem Boys Be On The Execution

Park Jimin

As soon as he heard about the execution, Jimin would deny all the invitation that was sent to his courtyard. There is absolutely no way he would attend to such an event. Being trained as a precious gem who can’t be spoil by dirt and mud, it is not his place to muddle his life at this event.

However, if he was forced to attend and be on the stage, Jimin’s flirtatiousness would be out of sight as his mind is more focus on defending itself than putting up a persona. Especially with his first time, Jimin would be terrified at seeing such a gory sight.

Unconsciously clenching his shaking fist at the sight in front of him, Jimin was sure that this memory will stay with him forever. Looks like today’s meal will not stay in one place.

“ Why is the meat so red! Get it away from me, you damn servant! Throw away the kimchi also!”

They told me that those feelings will eventually fade away.

They encouraged me to let go and forget those memories.

They forced us to part ways.

Why? As a child, I couldn’t understand the reason for their actions. Even as a young adult, who has inherited the family’s business, I still have yet to sympathise with their justifications.

However, as I retire from my childhood, I did understand one thing. My lovely parents, who have been all but understanding, didn’t do what they did for my benefit, but theirs.

What even made it worse was that I was never prepared for the new life that had entered mine. Moments before that, I didn’t have enough time to get over the thought of leaving my home for an unknown world. So of course, being forced to adapt to their lifestyle was harder than they all made it sound but it wasn’t the worst thing that had happened.

I remembered curling into myself in those sleepless nights, terrified by the echoes of the mansion after the maids have dropped me off after my lessons. Though, it was nothing compared to the aching feeling clenching my heart.

Luckily, I knew the reason for it.

I subconsciously lifted my heavy mood at the memory, while sensing how freaked out my servants looked, gaping at me.

However, I didn’t care. The servants have already been informed of their master’s uniqueness, either by the head butler or gossips floating around the city.

Turning my head, I picked up the rusty necklace hanging on the stand, feeling the familiar weight rested on my palm. Grazing over the metal, my heart was filled with longing.

How have you been, N/n?

Despite the unimpressive embedment of the dull rocks, along with the poor excuse of a metal choice, I still find myself admiring every little detail of the pendant. After all, it was the first and only present that I received from them.

Letting out a bitter smile, I shoved the necklace into one of the drawers before drawing my attention back to the servants.

“ Anything interesting?”

Aside from the horrible start, the lessons have made my process to inheritance a lot more accessible, not that taking over the business was difficult. One of the lessons that I resonated most with was the significance of displayed confidence during a conversation. As long as I am confident—even better, arrogant, the conversation shall sway in my direction.

And it seems that the lesson has also affected both my reputation and persona as well. Anyhow, it’s better this way. At least I didn’t have to bother with relatives complaining about me when they knew that I paid them no mind.

However, the younger relatives seemed to not be as educated as the elder ones and like to meddle with my business. At least my life is not tasteless with their presence constantly pestering me.

In some ways, I was thankful that my parents didn’t have other offspring. That would make my goal to become successful more complicated.

Soon, N/n. We would be able to unite again. Maybe, become finances like we had in the past.

Some may ask what is the reason behind my ambition. I necessarily wouldn’t label it as ambition but instead a tool that happened to be within my possession. Of course, I wouldn’t say that out loud and would just dismiss the question with a smile.

Ah, may I also add that one of the few consequences of my lessons was the extreme focus on my own self, and not others? Though, when people questioned my mentality, I too to some extent, agree with them but isn’t it human nature to experience greed in their lifetime? As a result, I figured to experience this feeling in my youth, where I still have the power and energy to deal with whatever mess I have created.

“ A message from the nation of Corea has arrived.”

Perking up in interest, I looked up to stare at the piece of paper placed on the table. “ I heard that Corea had been revolutionized. What was it? The L/N dynasty now,” I said, my tongue not used to the surname.

“ Yes, master. I heard that a group of rebels managed to push down the gates and successfully took over the palace.”

Rolling my eyes, I retorted, “ Of course they did. If they didn’t then they wouldn’t have a chance to enter my earshot.”

“ Yes, of course, master,” the servant hurriedly agreed.

Smirking slightly at his cowered stance, I slowly picked up the letter. “ Such terrible handwriting,” I degraded after scanning through the letter.

I rested my head on my palm, thinking of an outline, “ They want us to trade with their country. A possibility of becoming a vassal to connect the two nations.”

“ What will you do, master?”

Glaring at the servant, I growled, “ Let me think, brat! Youngsters these days!!!...It would be a waste to not partner with such a potential party but their future is uncertain. Who knows if the current Empress/Emperor could even do a decent job. Come to think of it, any particular trait of this person?”

“ I heard that this person has personally executed the previous emperor in front of the previous crown prince.”

I winced, “ Tyrannical.”

“ However, the monarch did allow ministers from the previous dynasty to join their court.”

I scrunch my face, “ Thoughtless! A person this unpredictable can’t be easily meddled with. Whatever, ignore this letter. Mov—”

Scrambling from his spot, the servant shakily interrupted my speech, “ Please rethink, master! Doing that to the imperial family, nevertheless the Empress/Emperor, is considered disrespect. Not only that, it will worsen the bond between two nations! Our business coul—”

“ I get it, I get it. But, don’t you dare to interrupt me again!” I said, making sure to make him understand, “ I’ll write a letter back to them. What’s the current monarch’s name?”

“ M—”

“ I won’t address them by their name, I just want to know for extra precautions,” I tiredly reasoned.

The servant begrudgingly nodded, “ The current Empress/Emperor of Corea is L/N Y/N.”

Jotting down the name, I took a moment to memorize the name. Noticing something was wrong, I tried to look between the lines for a possible answer. The name was oddly similar to… N/n.

Involuntarily gasping at the connection, I grabbed the paper and brought it close to my face to examine the name, making sure that I have not hallucinated.

“ What was their name?”

“ It’s L/N Y/N, master.”

Widening my eyes, I quickly set the paper down before picking up another page, “ Change of mind. We will be accepting this invitation.”

Gasping at the unexpected outcome, all the servants gawked at their master’s busied stance. In their entire career, they have never witnessed a moment of the master taking back his words.

Swiftly scribbling down phrases, I felt my heart speeding up at the thought of meeting them again.

Even if there might be the smallest chance of it being them, I will never let this thread of hope go.

“ When will this letter arrive in Corea?”

Snapping out of his dazed state, the servant clumsily replied, “ If everything goes smoothly, I would say approximately half a month.”

I nodded, finding the answer surprisingly pleasant.

I’ve spent years waiting for them that half a month seems like nothing.

“ We shall depart to Corea a month from now.”

In all honesty, you didn’t know if laughing was the best choice as of currently. With the sudden arrival of the Imperial Consort, the officials must be desperate to dig some answers out of you if they have managed to convince him to visit you at this time of the day.

More like manipulation, you bitterly thought.

Pinching the space between your eyebrows, you motioned Chin-Hwa to invite him in while signalling for one of the maids present. After hearing what you said, the maid nodded before exiting the room.

Gaining trust from a person’s heart, especially ones that have already been wounded, was and is never an easy task; you can never guarantee their loyalty with just emotions alone. As a result, every servant that enters your doors is disguised members of your clan, who were adopted into a branch, owing to their entire existence to the clan. This way you still have at least some trust that they will be loyal to your ultimate goal. Unlike your clan members, these pesky officials have nothing to lose and will utilize any opportunity thrown at them for their benefit.

That was your original thought, at least. It still is but with a few exceptions.

Like entering a new world, your experience as a monarch was not what you expected in the absolute least. You don’t think any of your combat training would properly prepare you for what was coming—both diplomatically and emotionally.

You still sometimes wonder why they would choose you rather than a member of the Azure branch. Unlike you, the children of the said branch are trained in this kind of mission; there is plenty that is capable of close combat even. Meanwhile, you were only trained as a physical vessel, with a slight prestigious status but still don’t have that much knowledge in this area. And with all these blockages that keep appearing in front of you, you were starting to think if this was the best option.

Is it the innocence that they still manage to retain? Or how different they are from the rest; like gems hidden behind a wall of poorly covered coal?

Carelessly fondling the loose strands of your hair, you continue to ponder about that thought, wondering if you have truly softened enough to show your weak side.

Luckily, your chain of bitterness was cut off with the incoming steps heading towards your study. Flicking your hair away, you leaned against the chair and waited for the guest to arrive.

Looking over to the door, the figure that followed behind Chin-Hwa immediately captured your attention. With a lean built, youthful face, you really can’t believe that you both were born in the same year. Sometimes, even, you still couldn’t believe how far you have come.

“ Your majesty, the Imperial Consort is here.”

You nodded, eyes glued on the fidgety figure. Seeing the room, Chin-Hwa excused himself, unconsciously leaving you both in awkward silence.

“ Have you been doing well, Yoongi?”

Wincing at your question, Yoongi flusteredly nodded his head.

Chuckling at his cute act, you softly pull yourself up, before heading over to where Yoongi was. Standing in front of him, you felt an empowering force of strength enveloped you despite Yoongi being of average height.

Picking the incoherent signs indicating how nervous he is, your heart softens at how small he was making himself.

What have they done to you to make the crown prince become this… mess?

Offering your hand to him, waiting for him to get your gesture. Yoongi, who previously didn’t dare to look into your eyes, looked up in curiosity, before latching onto your hand.

Pulling him towards the door, you both set off to the dining room.

Silently eating your meal, you glanced over at the person opposite of you every once in a while. Careful to not worsen the awkward air in the room, you both did not utter a single word and instead set your attention on the feast casted upon the table.

Shoving grains of rice into your mouth, your mind loomed through the dozens of people presented in the room. In all of truthfulness, you were beginning to get annoyed at the gaping attention that was piercing your back; the imperial consort must have felt the same with how frequently he squirms in his seat.

Tightening your grip, you reach out across the table to grab a piece of meat. What seemed to be an innocent prey turned out to be the trigger for something much worse.

Flinching at the sudden object entering his view, he unconsciously dropped his chopsticks as well as his bowl, creating a loud clang.

Dropping your own utensils, you swiftly waved your hand, dismissing all the servants. Pushing away your seat, you were quick to walk around the table before setting yourself on the chair next to Yoongi.

Seeing his form shivering in distress, you carefully reach out your hand, making sure to not surprise him and place it on top of his tightly clenched fists. Your hands grasping on his own, you rubbed them soothingly. You didn’t know if he was comfortable with you enough for you to embrace him. Already being this close is already a risk in itself. However, it’s a risk that is more than necessary you had concluded.

Thankfully, it had seemed to be the right decision when you felt Yoongi gripping your hand. Now that you have a positive reaction from him, you slowly brought your right arm out and wrapped it around his shoulder in an attempt to calm him.

Steadily, you began to close your guys’ gap until Yoongi was encased in your embrace, his breathing slowing down in the process. You both stayed there for what seemed like minutes until Yoongi was calm enough to reciprocate.

After you have made sure that he was alright, you unwrap your arm from him but still alert in case of him having any signs of discomfort. Seating back down, you finally were able to properly examine him. His already pale skin has lost its color amidst the distressful moment, but fortunately, color seemed to be returning to his cheeks.

Following his successful attempt to calm down, the Imperial Consort looked over at you, eyes widening in surprise, finally processing what had just happened. Clumsily standing up, he bowed down, profusely apologizing.

“ Y-your majesty, I-I-I a-apologize for m-my rude c-conduct!”

Smiling softly, you waved your hand in an attempt to dismiss the problem, however, unlike your original intention, it had seemed like Yoongi misunderstood your actions. The colours that have just returned to his face dissipated along with your previous attempts to calm him down.

Raising your arm up to indicate you having no harmful intention, you once again approach him. This time, however, you kneeled beside him, wanting to look him in the eyes.

Despite the only time you both have ever been this intimate with each other was the first time you both have directly interacted, you have a niche that doing this was necessary.

Staring into those beautiful black gems, you could see how swollen his face has become. Feeling your heart clench at his current look, you couldn’t really help yourself but be curious. Be curious for the innocence that is hanging onto the last strands in those beautiful gems.

As if also lost on his own as well, Yoongi finds himself stopping his previous agitated state staring into your eyes, curious to what you are keeping within yourself. Like knowing what he was searching for, you let out a chuckle.

The eyes are really the window to one’s heart.

“ Don’t worry, I don’t mind,” you comforted.

Seemingly hypnotized by your luring eyes, Yoongi let out a modest nod.

“ Are you still hungry?” you asked, noticing how much rice still remained in the bowl.

Continuing to stare into your eyes, he shocked his head.

Breaking out into a smile by his cute antiques, you turned your head sideway to look in another direction, knowing that you won’t be able to contain yourself with his cuteness.

Unconsciously tugging down his lip, he helplessly looked at you, not knowing what to do. You on the other hand, who just witnessed his pout, snicker to yourself at the recurring trend.

He and Jungkook really are brothers by blood.

Reaching over to grasp his hand, you caressed them while asking, “ You don’t have to be so nervous when you’re with me. We’ve been through this before, didn’t we?”

Bashfully looking down at his lap, Yoongi nodded.

Nodding in satisfaction, you rise from your position. “ With that being said, why are you here at this time, Yoongi? You normally don’t come a few hours into the afternoon.”

Flustering him with the question, Yoongi tried to come up with a reasonable explanation, tripping up his words in the process. Knowing the effort that is being put in, you patiently waited for him to make up his mind.

Min Yoongi, the previous crown prince of the previous Min dynasty, was unlike anything you would expect from the wealthy. Despite having a relatively tough outer shell, Yoongi’s inner self was quite sensitive to the changes around him, especially abrupt ones. As a result, this has contributed to making your guys’ first direct interaction a little … unique.

Regardless, his vulnerability, you presumed was caused by childhood trauma. While Yoongi haven't mentioned anything in particular, you have pieced quite a bit of his behaviours to conclude what you have now.

Insincerity. Insignificant. Forgotten; was what you assumed had happened.

Traumatized. Paranoid… Broken; was all that was left of him.

Even in your first meeting, you already had a feeling that Yoongi was different from others living inside the palace. How? You didn’t know but you were glad that you have trusted your intuition. At least now, he is being taken care of both physically and materialistically. Emotional-wised? You’re working on that.

“ … I-I came h-here to h-help y-you, y-your m-majesty!”

“ … “

Squeaking at your silence, Yoongi’s fingers twitch in agitation. “ I-I came here to …  The officials asked me to come here!” Squeezing his eyes, Yoongi couldn’t help but to imagine what your expression would be. Anger? Annoyance? … Disappointment?

“ Is it about the harem selection?”

Seeing his nod, successfully confirming your original conclusion, you patiently waited for him to calm down.

“ What do they want to ask me?,” you asked but after seeing him shake his head, you nodded understandably.

Using your legs as leverage to push yourself up, pulling his stiff form with you afterward.

Going to the shelves nearby, you carefully scan over the dozens of scrolls, searching for the right ones. After selecting what you needed, you head back to the desk, spreading out the scrolls.

Yoongi, who was sitting opposite of you, perked up as the scrolls were being spread out. Confused at what you were hinting, Yoongi looked over at your direction. After a few moments, Yoongi shakily grabbed the scrolls, quickly scanning through them.

Setting down into your seat, you waited for him to finish.

“ What is this?,” Yoongi meekly asked after reading the report.

“ What do you think?”

Gripping onto the fabric of the scroll, Yoongi continued to stare at it. Noticing how comfortable he is with using the scroll, you smiled.

At least I don’t have to deal with a fake.

“ It’s a written report of the drought in the last decade.”

“ Anything else?”

“ It also listed down the possible solution for each year.”

“... Do you notice something irregular about this report?”

“ …”

Leaning your upper body forward, you pointed at a blank spot on the report. “ What is this for?”

“ The Imperial Jade Stamp.”

The Jade Stamp is a valuable treasure that gets passed down from one generation to another. Acting as the official monarch’s words, as long as the mark is there, permission and approval is an absolute.

As a result, even if a rebellion happens, the opposition party is encouraged to obtain the stamp to gain the civilians’ trust. Meaning that whoever gets their hands on the Jade Stamp has the ability to rule the nation.

Spreading out the other scrolls, you pointed to the exact blank spots of each one. Seeing the repeated occurrence, Yoongi could only duck his head down in shame.

“ It’s not your fault, Yoongi,” you comforted, “ Even if it is, there are always ways to rewind your ways.”

“ Rewind my ways?”

“ Mhmm. So from the blank spot and what has happened in the previous decade, what can you conclude?”

“ Despite having many possible solutions, drought seasons are always dealt with little to no help from the government.”

“ Why is that?”

“ …” gulping down a chunk of air, Yoongi let out, “ Because the previous dynasty didn’t care.”

Nodding at his answer, “ Now tell me, would you repeat the same thing your father did if the Imperial Jade Stamp was in your hands?”

Flinching at the mention of his father, Yoongi took time to think. Overlooking your prescience, Yoongi’s eyes naturally focused on the wall behind you.

Licking his dry lips, he answered, “... I wouldn’t.”

“ Why so?” You asked, cocking your head to the side, “ With all this power, you could have the entire country kneeling at your feet, ready to serve you.”

“ … I don’t want that,” he whispered out, “ I despise power and the greed that comes with it. It makes us so ... inhumane, going to the point of forgetting that we’re mortals.”

“ Then if you have the Imperial Jade Stamp, what would you do?”

“ … I would try to sustain the country.”

“ Sustain? Why not prosper the economy?”

“ With all the damage that was caused by the previous dynasty, I doubt that in my years of ruling, the country would be strong enough to prosper,” he answered, “ If I want the country to prosper, the first thing I need to do is saving it first.”

I’m impressed.

“ Mhmm, tell me, how would you help prevent the worst from the drought season?”

Amused by how he scrunched his face while deep in thought, you patiently waited for his answer.

“ People of the Amber division would be the most affected group. People— who are already vulnerable will have a harder time surviving during this time,” he started, “ As a result, I think it would evacuate them to another region. Even providing assistance, and supplies would help them cope through the upcoming months.

Similar to Taehyung’s.

“ You do realize that we aren’t in the best position to provide such things without us losing money right?”

Widening your eyes when Yoongi makes eye contact with you, his eyes flaring in anger? Frustration? “ I am aware of that, your majesty. However, I believe that the gap between commoners and nobles is so wide that even if we take a reasonable amount of money out from the imperial treasure room, I doubt that we will suffer anything major.”

Chuckling at the sudden fiercely response, you waved your hand to dismiss the tension.

“ I will put your input in consideration, Imperial Consort.”

Nodding at your words, Yoongi once again shrink himself back to his small self, careful to not annoy you.

So he does have a fierce side.

Continuing where you had left off, you both emerge yourselves into diplomatic conversations. Before you know it, the sun was already setting, and dinner came right after.

Escorting Yoongi to the door, you turned sideways, smiling at him.

Glancing back at the servants,“ I appreciated your company today, Imperial Consort.”

“ It was my pleasure, your majesty,” Yoongi replied, bowing in greeting.

Reaching your hand out to caress his cheek, you lean in and whisper something in his ear before planting a light peck on his cheek. Feeling his cheeks heat up, Yoongi bashfully nodded before exiting your courtyard, followed by his servants.

On his way back to his courtyard, Yoongi squirmed when remembering back to what had just happened. Cheeks crimson red, Yoongi fantasize over your words.

Don’t worry about the harem. Trust that I will be there for you.

Clawing the wooden walls of his carriage, Yoongi wanted nothing more than to let the fluttering butterflies in his core escape at the thought of your words.

It seems like tonight will be another one of those sleepless nights.

☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️

Following yesterday’s frantic news, today’s morning was far from ordinary. Usually, you would start off the audience with minor problems from the many departments, slowly moving up to the major ones. However, today was definitely not one of those days.

Thankfully, you were not the only one that got annoyed by the constant pester. Looking over to the historian, you could tell that he was getting as annoyed as you from the constant repeating questions aaasa he continued to write all the dialogues into his notebooks.

Does every generation do this? Constantly getting pestered by their own servants?

“ Your majesty! You can’t possibly be serious about admitting the sons of powerful figures into the harem as nameless concubines!”

“ Why can’t I?”

“ The foreign nations will be offended by your gestures, your majesty! That could sour the relationship between Corea and them!”

Finally acknowledging his presence, you tried to remember which department he is from.

Ah, Officer Kang Beom-Seok from the international affairs department. I thought he was a neutral?

Scowling at the realization that he had joined a side, your distaste for him returned in folds.

Kang Beom-Seok was an unruly man. Despite his rude antiques, his intelligence was quite outstanding thus allowing him a position in court. In the past, Beom-Seok never favoured any specific sides, but it seemed like the situation had changed.

Now that would really make your plan harder, not that you didn’t expect it would go smoothly.

“ Then what can I do? Give them a title so they can plot whatever they want within my harem?”

No one answered.

“ There is always a chance of them retaliating against our country. Allowing them to enter the palace is already risky but giving them power? What do you think will happen?”

Again, not a word was heard.

“ Besides, we can’t be so weak as to bow down to others. Unlike years ago, the tide has changed. There shall be no weakness that can benefit others except for ourselves. To gain respect, risks must be taken as well as power must be obtained. Like any other success, a game of chess is always needed,” you announced, “ That shall be the end of this topic. Chin-Hwa, the next one?”

“ Yes, your majesty,” he said, turning sideways to grab the next scroll.

Listening to what he said, your back unconsciously leaned onto the throne until the end of the audience.

☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️

“ What do you think of this,” pointing to the fabric, you asked.

“ No, that doesn’t match with the theme of the banquet.”

Speechless at what he just said, you couldn’t manage to form a proper coherent reply and instead chose to nod, trying to understand what he meant.

Picking up the gold fabric, you caressed it, feeling the material. “ Gold and blue is the national color of Ecenyth. Without it, it would just seem like any other banquets.”

Shaking his head in distaste, he snatched the fabric out of your grasp before tossing it behind him.

Gaping at the fallen piece of fabric, you winced at how costly that sample is. Maybe, just maybe, Taehyung is right in someway or another.

“ This tone is too yellow. The Ecenyth Gold is darker and not as vivid. Such a poor taste in choice, who chose this.”

Feeling your eye twitch as his words, you slowly raised your hand up, signaling that you were the poor-taster.

Seeing your raised hand, Seokjin momentarily swallowed what he was about to say, before swiftly standing up and picking up the fabric from the floor. Taking the fabric back to you, he let out a flattering smile.

“ Now looking back at this shade, I don’t think it’s that bad.”

Letting out a polite smile, you ignore his words before droughting down another possible shade of gold.

“ Chin-Hwa, go see if we have another shade of gold. Preferably one that is darker and not as vivid.”

Nodding at your words, Chin-Hwa tiredly walked out of your study to go on the seventh trip to the imperial warehouse.

Letting out a whine, “ Y/nnnn-ssi, I didn’t know that was the shade that you have picked!”

Perking up at your name, you turned sideways to look at him.

“ Well Seokjin-ssi, it doesn’t matter if I chose it out or not. It has already been done, let’s move on to the next color,” you sarcastically said.

“ How can I move on if you are being sarcastic?”

Giving him an unimpressive face, before you continue to look at the various colours laying out in front of you.

“ Corea’s national colors are red, white, as well as blue. If we were to incorporate these colours together, I doubt that it would come off as impressive.”

“ I don’t think it would be if we arrange in a simpler way.”

“ How?”

Grabbing the brush in front of him, Seokjin quickly drawed a picture of the venue where he added various decorations and flowers. Peering over his shoulder to see his progress, you were starting to understand what he was saying.

After he was done, Seokjin gave it to you to inspect. Scanning over the image, connecting all the words with the picture next to it, you smiled.

“ Not bad. I don’t believe this is a style of the Ecenyths,” you said, “ Where did you get the inspiration for this design?”

Setting the brush down, Seokjin Cooley answered, “ This type of style is actually quite popular in the west, but with us not having that many connections with it, I figure to incorporate some of Corea’s features into the design.”

Nodding your head in agreement, “ Not bad, not bad. This could be used as a basic framework before the final design. A solid design if I must say.”

Beaming at your praise, Seokjin let out an egoistic mhmm.

“ Will you sponsor this banquet?” You teased.

“ Should I?”

“ You’re part of this alliance too, Seokjin-ssi. My country is providing the location, why not contribute the decoration and supplies?”

Laughing at your words, “ You jest, your majesty. A wealthy person like you would need me to sponsor the supplies? I don’t think my products are good enough for such a lavish location.”

“ Lavish? Please, it’s just the courtroom where the throne is present. Nothing about it is lavish.”

Smirking at your comment, Seokjin replied back, “ Then I shall rely on your majesty’s favour to promote my small business.”

“ I shall do what is in my capabilities, Merchant.”

Before Seokjin had the chance to response to your words, Chin-Hwa entered the room.

“ Your majesty, I have returned with the all the golden shades that are available in our warehouse,” Chin-Hwa announced, placing a pile of various fabrics of the same color yet in a different shade.

“ Merchant, since you are more experienced in this field than myself. I shall hand over this part to you.”

Letting out a nod, Seokjin bowed his head in agreement, ‘ I shall follow your majesty’s orders.”

“ Good. Now that’s settled, I don’t see a reason for trapping you here within my courtyard.”

Smirking at your cold way of dismissing him, Seokjin wanted to respond back with a witty comment but ultimately decided not to when he remembered that Chin-Hwa is still present.

“ It was my pleasure to serve your majesty,” Seokjin said.

Waving to call in a maid to escort Seokjin, you smirked at how obedient the lad was being.

Where is his usual cheeky self?

However, you soon regretted your initial thought with the wink he sent before disappearing out into the corridor.

That damn minx.

Shaking your head in disbelief, you slowly turn around, ultimately return back to where you were.

“ Did the Noble Consort receive my invitation?”

“ The Noble Consort received your invitation yesterday night.”

“ What was his reply?”

“ Reporting to your majesty, the Noble Consort has accepted your invite.”

Smiling, you nodded in satisfaction, “ Good.”

☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️

Leaning against the rough walls, you patiently waited for your companion. Dressed in a simple outfit along with your sword, sheathed in another scabbard, you looked nothing more than a mere traveller.

However, what differs you from the rest was the mysterious aura you released. Granted, with your occupation, the mystery is never really far from the truth and seemed to have also affected your day-to-day habit as well.

Regardless, it had seemed to be the reason for you gaining quite a bit of attention. Despite the unsubtle crowd that was starting to jam the district, you continue to dismiss them, putting your attention on waiting for your companion.

Suddenly, you felt a presence going toward your direction, specifically aiming at you. Twisting your feet to turn around, you grasp the handle of your sword, ready to unsheathe it if necessary.

Thankfully, you calm down after spotting the familiar figure.

“ You’re late.”

Sheepishly rubbing his head, he ducked his head down in apology, “ I apologize. The maids kept pestering about my outfit. It took me over half an hour to convince them to let me go.”

As mentioned in his attire, your eyes naturally examine his outfit for the day. Consisting of an overcoat covering his entire build made from a relatively rough material, he still was not able to hide his pretty self. And it seemed that you were not the only one that noticed this with a massive increase in audience surrounding you both.

Nodding at his words, you hurriedly grab his arm before pulling him through the crowd while spilling out apologies. Eventually, you both managed to fight your way through the crowd, quickly running away to a quieter area.

Finally letting go of his hand, you awkwardly shifted away, not used to being near each other.

“ … The festival is mostly being celebrated in the main street, so let’s go there now.”

Nodding his head, Hoseok quietly followed you to the main street. On your guys’ way there, a word was yet to be spoken. With the awkwardness lingering in the air, both of you prompted to just focus your attention on the nearby surroundings.

Thankfully, the awkwardness was soon forgotten and instead replaced with the excitement of the festival ahead.

Today marks the opening date of the three-day Nurturing Solstice. The Nurturing Solstice is an annual holiday that officially starts the harvest season. As a result, a three-day break would occur to help people celebrate the start of a bountiful season.

Walking side-by-side with each other, you were able to observe the way his eyes sparkled in interest whenever you guys pass by a lively stall.

“ Do you want that?” You asked, pointing at one of the treats nearby.

Looking to where you pointed, Hoseok blinked at what was presented in front of him, not sure what it.

“ You don’t know what it is?”

“ What is it?” Hoseok asked after shaking his head.

Sighing in exaggeration, you encased Hoseok’s hand in yours, dragging him to the stall.

“ Auntie, how much is this,” you asked, pointing to the various options, “ Choose one that you want.”

“ No! I’m fine,” Hoseok said, frantically waving his hand, wanting to dismiss your statement. However, Hoseok quickly shut his mouth when he met your friendly gaze. Amidst the moment, he randomly chose one, popping it into his mouth.

Smiling at his actions, you took some money from your purse and handed it to the lady. Grabbing another one for yourself, you gracefully accepted the change before thanking her and walking away.

“ How is it?”

Raising his head when he heard your question, you smiled at him to let him know that you mean no harm.

“ It’s good. What is it called?”

“Tanghulu.” you said, “... You seemed familiar with the streets.”

Pausing on his meal, Hoseok let out an awkward smile, “ … I used to sneak off a lot with my sister when I was a child. We would always save up enough money to rent a ride from our main house to the streets so we could play and go home before anyone notices our absence.”

Despite his reasoning sounding a bit stiff and odd, you decided to not comment on it, and instead focus your curiosity on the newly introduced figure.

“ Sister? You had a sister?”

Hoseok nodded, a fond smile appearing on his face. “ My noona was a capable person. Anything caught her interest, she would try her all to become one of the best at it.”

“ Were you closed with her?”

“ We were inseparable during our childhood.”

“ … How about now?”

“ … She disappeared after her 15th birthday and was soon announced dead.”

Taking in a sharp breath, you mentally cringed at his answer, wanting nothing more than to shove those words back into your mouth. “ I apologize, I didn’t realize that such an unfortunate thing happened to her.”

Hoseok smiled, shaking his head. “ No, it has been years since the incident happened. I’ve already moved on. It’s useless to cling on to the past.”

You stare at his face, taking into every curve and crevice, admiring his features while you both walk through the district. Noticing how his eyes sparkled as his chest unconsciously puffed up whenever he talks about his sister, you figured that this person must have been extremely close with him in the past.

“ I’m glad that you have done that. I’m sure that your sister would be proud of you.”

“ You think so?”

You nodded your head, “ Of course. People who love you will not want you to suffer.”

“ Thank you, your majesty.”

“ Don’t call me that here,” you said, wincing at your title. However, Hoseok only looked around before questioning you.

“ No one is here right now.”

“ It doesn’t matter,” you lectured, “ It’s always better to be extra cautious and not regret it later.”

“ … Then what should I call you?” He asked, looking troubled.

“ Y/N.”

Dropping the stick he had just ate from, Hoseok looked at you, bewildered. “ I’m sorry?”

“ Call me Y/N.”

“ …”

“ Call me Y/N.”

“ … Y-y-y-y-n… Y-y-n,” Hoseok stuttered out, “ Y/N.”

You nodded in satisfaction, “ Get used to it. We shall use it whenever we go outside, or even when we’re alone—if you’re alright with it of course.”

Blushing at your teasing, Hoseok felt his shoulders scrunched up in embarrassment. However, the thought of getting to call you by your name doesn’t sound half bad.

“ Do… the other consorts also… call your name as well?”

“ I don’t think so, with the exception of Taehyung though. That rascal would whine right after a formal conference.”

Unintentionally frowning when he heard about your comment about Taehyung, Hoseok’s heart clenched at the familiarity and fondness you have for him.

“ You sound very … close.”

“ We are close. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here.”

Mentally cringing at your words, you wanted to slap yourself again.

I really had to bring that up.

“ … To be honest, I’m glad that you guys did.”

Fluttering your eyes wide open, you stared at him, bewildered at what he had just shared.

“ With you here, the country is already doing better with you being here,” Hoseok commented, “ Besides, I prefer my current life.”

Letting out a scoff, finding his reason ridiculous, “ You like being trapped within the palace walls and forbidden of the most basic freedom?”

“ That’s not what I meant. Living in the palace was much better than my life back home. Besides, my life now is pretty reasonable. I get to have a roof above my head, three meals per day, clothes to wear, and getting the chance to go outside.”

Smiling bitterly, you shocked your head in disbelief. “ You don’t want more than just a normal life?”

“ No, being able to watch the flow of life already satisfied me.”

“ You really are an interesting person, Hoseok.”

“ I’m glad that you find me interesting, yo— Y/N.”

“ You’re getting better.”

“ … Right, you said that you were closed with the Royal Consort. Did you perhaps know each other long before this. You do—“

“ Don’t worry it’s fine. Taehyung and I have not known each other since he was ten? Around there so over a decade now. I would like to say that I know him like the back of my hand even but he is like a wildcard so I’m never really sure.”

“ … Were … you guys lovers?”

Stopping your tracks, you looked at Hoseok, obviously taken back to what he had said. However, before Hoseok can say anything, you burst out laughing.

“ You thought that Taehyung and I were lovers?”

Blushing at your comment, Hoseok awkwardly nodded, embarrassed by his own comment.

“ I wouldn’t consider ourselves lovers,” you answered, calming down, “ It’s more like platonic love.”

“ It’s still love though.”

Raising your eyebrows, you let out a teasing smile, “ If that’s love then wouldn’t we be considered to be lovers since you’re also my consort?”

Stunned at what you just said, Hoseok felt his cheeks darkens rapidly, feeling a little too warm all of a sudden.

Laughing at his current state, you were quick to dismiss the awkward air, “ I’m kidding, I’m kidding.”

Feeling a pang enter his heart, Hoseok tried to ignore it and put on a smile, following the flow.

“ But seriously, being with you is like bathing in an entirely new light,” you noted, continue your walk, “. I sometimes wonder is there really is a galaxy within your body.”

“ You jest, y— Y/N. How can I support such a major system?”

“ Still, you give off such a sensation that is incredibly hard to describe. You were definitely what I had expected.”

“ You’re also like that.”

“ Hmm? In what way?” You asked, humming a small tone.

“ You… When I first got announced that I will marry you, I thought that my life would end there.”

Snorting out a laugh that you couldn’t contain, you amusedly glare at him. “ How about now?”

“ Now? You’re more humane than I thought. Originally, I thought that you would be …”

“ A monster?”

Sheepishly nodding, Hoseok sent you an apologetic glance. “ … Yes, but now that I’ve known you, I don’t think you as a monster.”

“ Then what do you see me as?”

“ … I-I don’t know.”

Eyeing the contemplated expression on his face, you smiled fondly, finding his current state adorable.

“ Then what do you want to see me as?”

“ … I also don’t know.”

“ You’re an indecisive person, Hoseok,” you teased, moving on right after, “ Do you know what my current impression of you is?”

Not hearing his response, you presumed it was a sign for you to continue, “ I see you as someone who is bright, and pretty yet present themself with outstanding confidence. I feel at ease when I’m with you,... and that I could share my secrets with you.”

Slowly blinking his eyes, Hoseok took some time to process what you had said. “ Share your secrets with me? Are you sure? I’m the son of a minster from the previous dynasty. Aren’t you afraid that I will retaliate with these informations?”

“ I don’t care about your status. What I’m evaluating is you, as a person not your social status. And with that, I don’t think that you are the type to use these information for your own gain, you know better that,” you explained, shrugging your shoulders, “ Besides, it’s just an example. Don’t worry too much about it.”

Despite your last sentences, Hoseok felt butterflies fluttered his core.

“ You’re a strange person, your majesty.”

Ignoring what he had just addressed you at, you replied, “ That could also be said to you, Hoseok-ssi.”

Unlike last time, this conversation ended on a rather high note. With none of you being uncomfortable with the topics, you both silently walk through the crowd, mindlessly admiring the scenes surrounding you both.

Walking through the crowd, you coincidentally found a tea house on the main street. Upon settling yourselves there, you ordered a couple of dishes along with a pot of tea.

“ How are you finding the festival?”

Looking around, Hoseok grinned, “ I li— no love it. Thank you.”

“ I’m glad that you’re enjoying your time here. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of chances of going outside in the future.”

Instead of answering, Hoseok only looked into your eyes, with you naturally understanding what he meant.

“ … Anyways, I have to go somewhere for some time. How about we split up and return to the tea house an hour from now?”

“ Of course, Y/n.”

“ Are you sure that you will be fine?” you asked, furrowing your eyebrows in concern.

Quickly shaking his hands, Hoseok brought his hand up, waving to dismiss your worries, “ No, please don’t worry about me. I’m, believe it or not, the son of Minister Jung. I have had martial arts training in the past before.”

“ I’m glad. That’s why you are so agile,” you complimented, '' Why can’t Taehyung be like you?”

Chuckling at your comment, Hoseok cheekily added, “ I will try my best to assist him.”

You broke out to a smile, satisfied with his response. Swiftly bending down, you reach your hand inside your pants, pulling a small dagger out. Handing it to Hoseok, you said, “ Use this when necessary.”

Eyes widening at what was offered, Hoseok clenched his fist before shakily grabbing it. However, before he can say anything, you did a quick greeting, tossing a few banknotes on the table, before turning away.

“ Be sure to show up on time!” You said, indicating that you were off.

Quickly climbing down the stairs, your expression quickly turned gloomy. Swiftly stepping out of the tea house, you looked around before turning right, immediately blending into the crowd. Tightening your hold on the handle, you made your way through the crowds, taking a few turns when needed. Soon enough you have arrived in the Red District.

Regardless of the constant pestering, you were getting, you continue to walk past them, focusing on finding your target. Looking through the crowd, you tried to spot any familiar faces.

Letting out a curse when a drunk bastard pushed you to the side, you glared at the disappearing figure. Sighing in irritation, you harshly fling away the hand clinging on to you before storming off in the opposite direction.

After approximately fifteen minutes of searching, you spotted a familiar silhouette, peeking out from one of the alleys. And it seemed as though they had noticed you as well with them disappearing in the next second after being spotted by you.

Skillfully passing through the street, you make a sharp right turn to enter the alley. Unlike the rest of the district, this particular alley was lit by only a candle, which was currently in the possession of the person in front of you.

Relaxing against the wall, you comfortably looked over at the person to see them still stuck in one place.

“ What is your purpose of leaving the territory, Raven?”

BTS’ Reaction to Y/N Arranging a Banquet For Their BD + Nobles Disrespecting Them

Harem!AU

A/n: I apologize to the anon that have asked for this. I accidentally deleted the ask along with the post. Devastating I know. Had to restart the entire thing so I at least those that you’ve enjoyed it 🌿🌿

Warnings: Nothing

Masterlist

BTS Reaction To Y/N Arranging A Banquet For Their BD + Nobles Disrespecting Them

White Heather: The bell-like flower signifies protection while also meaning that wishes will come true.

Kim Taehyung

Despite his prestigious status, Taehyung would prefer to celebrate his birthday with those he trusts. Spending time with you is better than any materialistic product he can ever receive.

However, as much as you like to indulge in this fantasy, it would bring you more harm than good, especially to Taehyung. If you didn’t arrange a banquet for Taehyung’s birthday, it would silently hint that your relationship with him have soured, and that he is losing your favour. This would not cause him to slowly lose his control over the harem but attract more reckless people to his doors as well.

To be honest, very few people would dare to actually insult him, especially in front of your presence. By now, you would expect that everyone in the palace would understand how capable you are.

Though, if someone has the guts to even comment on how ‘lavish’ the banquets is. I guaranteed that they will soon become the joke of the palace. Not only will they be on your bad side, everyone would naturally avoid them to not receive your distaste and hate.

However if gets to the point of infuriating you and embarrassing Taehyung then chances are that person would disappear from the face of Earth without a trace. It’s what they deserved for their stupidity.

“ Mhm? What did you say? Please do repeat what you just said.”

BTS Reaction To Y/N Arranging A Banquet For Their BD + Nobles Disrespecting Them

Kim Namjoon

Even without your prestigious statuses, you both prefer to celebrate Namjoon’s birthday like any other family meeting. Bonding with each other while sharing the same meal would be a simple yet meaningful event on his birthday.

As an intellectual, Namjoon would greatly appreciate getting gifts that would nourish his curious mind. From books to scriptures, to mysterious herbs, it would definitely satisfied his constant overfilling library and study.

As some of this items are quite rare and precious, it must also come with a great price tag. Knowing how Namjoon dislike gossips and such, make sure to burn or get rid of any evidence of you giving such gifts to him.

Despite you not wanting this, it must be done since you don’t want people looking at you both weirdly the day after his birthday.

However, if word somehow got out about you ‘spoiling’ Namjoon, either you or Namjoon would come up with a quick answer to shoo their suspicious gaze away from you both.

“ How did a mere servant like you enter the Empress/Emperor’s courtyard? You sure have guts.”

BTS Reaction To Y/N Arranging A Banquet For Their BD + Nobles Disrespecting Them

Jung Hoseok

To everyone, Hoseok’s birthday is similar to a festival. Everyone literally does not have time to rest with the constant pressure from both you and Minister Jung. Hoseok’s father have probably bribed some of the servants to make sure that his son’s birthday is the grandest of the noble consort’s.

Regardless of his intentions, Hoseok is actually quite confused to what was happening around him. With how rushed everything feels, he might not even realize that today is his birthday.

Thankfully, you were quick to remind him by spoiling him with various treasure from the various times you see him longingly staring at blueprints for too long.

“ Thank you, your majesty. I apologize for the disturbance. Please continue.”

BTS Reaction To Y/N Arranging A Banquet For Their BD + Nobles Disrespecting Them

Min Yoongi

If you were to plan out a banquet for Yoongi’s birthday, a lot of people will gain benefit from this. People from the previous dynasty would see an opening to do everything in their mean to gain more control. However, that it another subject for another time.

I don’t see Yoongi as a person who would prefer lavish material things but he will be so flustered to the point of not being able to produce coherent words if you indeed gave him something — which you should. Though, Yoongi would be more than happy to learn and experience what he could not as a harem child. I can’t really imagine him being a hard to please person.

However, with all the positive things, negative things will also follow it right? Manipulation will definitely be this event’s antagonist. Yoongi’s self esteem will drop drastically with how manipulative everyone would become the moment he gain favour. As a result, arrange a celebration that is worthy of him but not too overboard, that would cause the destruction of Yoongi’s position within the harem.

“ What? ... You want to say something in front of the Empress/Emperor?”

BTS Reaction To Y/N Arranging A Banquet For Their BD + Nobles Disrespecting Them

Jeon Jungkook

Like Namjoon, you can’t really organize a banquet with the big gap in your guys’ status. It would not confuse people but also create unneeded rumours about you guys’ potential affairs.

As a result, what you can do is sneakily spoiled him on his big day. Ranging from being nicer and more attentive to his questions to even gifting him custom-made weapons from your clan. It really depends on where you guys’ relationship is at this point.

Spending time outside of the palace while stuffing yourselves with various street food, and ending the day with stargazing or attending a nearby festival would be a nice framework for you to follow.

Even just practising your swordsmanship for hours would satisfy his crave for closeness. As long as you guys do activities that are unique to your guys’ relationship, Jungkook would be satisfied even if it’s the most basically things.

“ Please refer to the Empress/Emperor whenever they are available, official.”

BTS Reaction To Y/N Arranging A Banquet For Their BD + Nobles Disrespecting Them

Kim Seokjin

The most hard to please person I would say out of all the candidates. Unlike all of them, Seokjin have more than enough money and power to get whatever he wants so giving something materialistic is already a rough route. Though, I think gifting something that is custom and only made with him in mind would satisfy him greatly.

Maybe arranging a banquet under the cover of celebrating the country’s alliances with the coincident of Seokjin’s birthday in the mix so that people don’t suspect the intimacy of you both. Though, would that really be able to get people not to suspect anything? I’m not too sure of this myself.

I don’t think that Seokjin will be the kind of person to just ignore insults coming towards him so before you could even react, Seokjin would already be retaliating with all his might. Usually, after a round of his speech, the person would be too embarrassed to say anything else.

“ You! Yes, you. Who do you think you are? A mouse dare to challenge a lion? You jest!”

BTS Reaction To Y/N Arranging A Banquet For Their BD + Nobles Disrespecting Them

Park Jimin

Not much can be said about Jimin’s taste for presents except for picky. Granted, that’s probably a reasonable reaction when jewelry and money was constantly at his disposal and that’s all he gets as rewards for béhavioriste properly.

I would suggest starting out with that thought in mind, and as your bond get stronger and Jimin becoming much more comfortable with you, then begin to explore other territories with him. Regardless, the idea of having you arrange a banquet all for him really excites him than he like to admit.

I can already him eyeing every potential wealthy person but still stick to your side — he’s all bark but not bite so if he cast those flirtatious glances, he will still be loyal to you. However, what he didn’t expect was an outright insult on his ‘behaviour.’

Beneath all those smiles and flirts, his broken self would still offense and would want to retaliate. This would cause him to quiet down but still try to go back to what he was doing.

Since you want to both stand up for him but also not cause that much gossip, just silently command some people to make the person go bankrupt and that should be a good ending. While you’re at it, transfer some of that person’s asset to Jimin’s monthly allowance and I will guaranteed you that he will like love you even more.

“ ... What are you looking at?”

I also like the flower; from the beauty surrounded by thorns to the passionate meaning, the flower has a special place in my inventory.

Y/n must have a weakness in some way other the other right, so why not have them sucked at conveying their feelings. It provides me opportunities to create ✨ drama 🎭 ✨, even if the upcoming chapters will already be messy on its own ( ohh was that a spoiler 🙂 ).

With the both of them present in one scene, there will be no chance of it ever being a peaceful one, cause:

Cheeky Tiger + Sly Minx = CHAOS

BTW, how is the plot going? Are the chapters too long or short? I’m planning something so just wanted an input since it will be quite lengthy.

⭐star⭐

I saw the reblog and decided to try! Since I don't know which lines I should pick, You could talk about anything!

Also, Can I be 🌹 Anon?

Thank you, hun. I very much appreciate you directly inboxing me! Love the feeling 🌿 Of course you can be 🌹 anon, any particular reason I wonder 🤔?

Is it just me or the Y/N in Utopia is kinda all over the place??? Like one moment they’re offended and in the next, they’re teasing others. It wasn’t intended but should it stay?

And that cheeky merchant!! Ugh, I really had fun piecing up different elements to create his character. His introduction haven’t truly show his true characteristics yet but I literally have tons of scenarios of how he and Y/N would flirt with each other — worthy opponent of Taehyung if I may say so myself. 🌿

Fanfic Writers: Director’s Cut

Reblog this if you want readers to come into your ask box and ask for the “director’s commentary” on a particular story, section of a story, or set of lines.

Or, send in a ⭐star⭐  to have the author select a section they’ve been dying to talk about!

I'm doing fine! Just finished a test, Didn't answer like 2? Anyway, Yeah! I like reading online comics! I lean to romance and action! You?

-🌼 Anon

Good job on finishing the test, hun. You must have really been busy with school.

I also find myself leaning towards more romance and fantasy. Theres just something so nostalgic reading about another world far from our own.

Sweet and simple love stories are great but you know what’s better? Bitter romance, ugh the angst that is involved in that is top notch.

Aside romance, the plot gotta be at least decent. From adventure to action, I can really read any as long the protagonist isn’t a Mary Sue type of character. I apologize but the protagonist gotta be bada$$ in some way, I can’t really stand a character that plays the heroine role but can’t stand on their own.

I feel like I’m describing novels more than actual comics 😅, but either way, I prefer stories that have some of these components, yk it gives the character for depth.

You know those face-slapping, reincarnation/world travelling tropes? Literally the perfect trope for a bada$$ heroine.

What ru currently reading? Any recommendations? 🌿 🌿 🌿

UTOPIA [ 5 ]

Blinking confusingly at the person presented in front of you, your brain seemed to have yet come to terms at the sudden event. The person — and his crew was supposed to arrive in three days but was now standing in front of you, even so triumphantly?

Guessing that your expressions have made him laugh, you presumed that he was having a little too much fun despite his rude actions.

I mean who wouldn’t be annoyed by an unexpected guest who came on short notice and appeared days before the initial expected date? Especially if that person acts as an envoy between the two nations, as well as his own business.

Regardless, despite the major annoyance that was ticking you off, you continued to wait for the commotion to go down.

With the newly arrived guest, the palace seemed to have been lit with a new fire. From the great halls to even the tightest crevices, everyone is curious of the person’s purpose of returning, especially when they have such an intimate relationship with you.

Though, you would like to admit that ‘intimate’ was a little too exaggerated and over the top.

Anyways, as expected, after sensing your unusual yet eerie silence, people began to quiet down, knowing to not piss get on your nerves and piss you off.

After everyone has calmed down and put their attention on him, the Merchant formally greeted you, the ruler.

“ Greetings to the Emperor/Empress of Corea.”

His smooth yet experienced way of taking was unmistakingly one of the reasons why you’re so intrigued with him. Everyone knows that merchants are those who make a living by haggling the best price of a product using their mouth and skill. The Merchant, in some ways resembles that stereotype, however, he is also much more.

The way that he presents himself is full of confidence, making people think of him as more of a businessman rather than a lowly and sly stealer of the streets. There is this elegant yet comforting feeling whenever the Merchant open his mouth to speak, thus gaining your interest and soon after, friendship.

“ Merchant of the South,” you looked down nochantly at his folded form, “ it has been a while.”

Gracefully brushing your hands, you motioned him to stand up.

Standing up proudly, you could tell how much the Merchant values his own self just by the confidence that is radiating off him.

Grinning at your greeting, he gracefully replied, “ Indeed, your majesty. The months that I’ve spent here in the capital went by abnormally fast that when the final date arrived, I could no longer believe it myself.”

Smirking at his flattery response, you had to make sure that he knows that you are willing to join the game. After all, it does take two to tango right?

“ The feelings are mutual,” you said, leaning against the throne to showcase your dominance, “ Since you’ve arrived in such short notice, is there a particular reason that I had yet been aware of?”

Contradicting to you wanting to follow the flow, you knew that there were more important things to talk about now. Also, you guys both have plenty of time to tease and flirt with each other so there is no worries on that part there.

Instead cowering in fear at at your sudden harsh question, the Merchant only looked at you. You also may or may not have detected a small smirk that was imprinted on his face.

Cheeky minx, he must have known that I wouldn’t be able to do anything to him.

— for many reasons of course.

Aside from his obvious confident — arrogant aura, the sight opposite of you was definitely a sight you wouldn’t expect from anyone but the Merchant.

With his infamous hobby of collecting whatever he finds interesting, it was a given he would be flaunting his newest valuable assets to the entire world. This time, also, was definitely not an exception.

From the simplest accessories that were embedded into his hair, to the silk robe he adorned in, anyone could tell that they were all made from top-quality products — probably custom made for his build.

“ Answering your majesty’s question, the purpose of this visit is similar to the last,” he started, “ However, unlike last time, I am here to act as an envoy between the Ecenyth Nation and Corea.”

Immediately after, the atmosphere became cold and tense. Your humble expression no longer being found and instead is replaced with a confused, then emotionless, and finally discontent.

Tilting your head slightly to look over at Jungkook, who also looked baffled himself at the given news. Glancing over to your attendant who also shook his head, you couldn’t help but grind your teeth in irritation.

“ Envoy, you say?” You gritted out, “ Why did I not get informed of such matters?”

Not only did the Ecenyths disrespect you as the current Emperor/Empress and your entire nation by miscalculating the arrival times, but they also dared to send an envoy without you having any say in this? And to employ the Merchant into this position, taking advantage of your friendship with him?

How daring of them!

Before the Merchant can answer your question, a servant from behind raised up from his spot and answered in his stead.

“ We apologized, your majesty. There must have been some complications during the process of delivering the message about sending over an envoy. I reassure you that we did indeed send over a message a few months ago.”

Shooting the servant who dared to talk in front of you a glare, making the servant cowered in fear at the distaste he was getting from both you and his master.

They even have the guts to let a servant retort back to me.

Biting back a sarcastic comment you didn’t want to let out to further sour the relationship between the two nations, you slammed your hand in frustration.

Flinching at the sudden noise, everyone tensed up at your precarious action knowing that you weren’t a person who would act rashly. Meaning that you must have been terribly offended that you have let your emotions win the best of you.

You must admit that connecting the two nations is what you originally wanted but why do they have to resort to this kind of method? You painfully wanted to ask but refrained, and swiftly waved your hand, dispersing the previous tense air.

It wouldn’t benefit either side if I were to act up now, especially if we were the ones asking for this alliance.

“ Forget it, it’s no use to question a bystander. General Kim, go and investigate.”

With just a mention of his name, General Kim stepped up from his spot and accepted your command.

Nodding slightly at his gesture, you set your attention back to the Merchant.

“ Since the problem is under way, don’t you think we have to celebrate successfully connecting the two nations, M— no I should say Envoy of Ecenyth?”

Noticing how the Merchant seems to wince slightly at his new title coming out of your mouth, he, nonetheless, enthusiastically nodded his head in agreement.

“ Of course, your majesty. A luxurious banquet would greatly please the imperial family.”

“ I imagine so,” pretending to take his comment in consideration, you innocently asked, “ Say, Envoy of Ecenyth, what do you think will be appropriate for this upcoming memorable day?”

Catching on to what you were doing, Jungkook couldn’t help but shook his head, knowing what you were up to. However, he couldn’t help but feel a sudden itch in his chest, particularly near his heart.

After the initial scaring last night, Jungkook did indeed become more suspicious of your actual identity. Despite his ever-lasting curious mind wanting to know everything, what worried him more was you disappearing out of thin air. To top it off, you didn’t even bother to tell him of you leaving the palace.

He gets it that you’re mysterious, but as your bodyguard, he more than thinks that he should at least be informed of your departure. How would he be able to cope at the various possibilities of you getting hurt because of him not being present? He knows that you’re strong but having him there decreases the chance of you getting injured.

As he continues to hear the witty exchanges between you and the Merchant, Jungkook’s heart clenches uncomfortably. Unconsciously placing his hand on his chest, rubbing it hurriedly, Jungkook desperately wanted to get rid of such an uncomfortable feeling.

Sweat began to accumulate on his forehead when he thought of the possibility of him getting ill. However, he was snapped out of his chain of thought with the mentioned of his name.

“ Good, good. I like your idea,” you complimented, “ Come to my private quarters tomorrow night. We will talk more about it there. Jungkook will be escorting you there when I deemed appropriate.”

While Jungkook seemed flustered by your order, the Merchant was happily nodding his head in agreement.

Similar to Jungkook’s reaction, the audience that were previously watching your interaction in curiosity, was bewildered by your sudden invitation but decided to be quiet and not question you.

“ I shall follow your majesty’s plan.”

You nodded, waving your hand to dismiss the envoy.

After they have left, you continue the audience like any other day. Before you even know it, piles of scrolls were crowding up the trays.

Sighing, you definitely couldn’t wait to start working on this new accumulated pile. However, before starting to dig through this pile, you better take a break and exercise.

☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️

Standing amidst the training ground, you stared at your opponent in silence, your right hand gripping a practice sword, ready to start attacking.

About 15 meters to your right, an eunuch was standing there, waiting for the both of you to go to your rightful place. After confirming that you were there, he shouted out a command, officially starting your duel.

Not waiting for him to react, you knew that you would have to initiate today’s fight since you have just gained a new weakness; your injured arm being of no use and even creating an opening for the opponent to aim for.

Thankfully, with all the servants present, Jungkook inevitably has to be more polite and gentler when going against you since harming you can be seen as treason; and just with his identity, treason isn’t something unexpected.

Darting towards him in swift movements, you quickly close the gap between the two of you. Swinging your blade, clashing against his own, you both continue to attack each other.

Ducking down at a slash aimed at your chest, you swing your leg in a circle, successfully bringing Jungkook to the ground. However to your dismay, Jungkook took the opportunity and brought you down with him.

Toppling on top of Jungkook, you snatched his weapon out of his grasp, Jungkook doing the same with yours, the both of you throwing your guys’ weapon in opposite directions. You both smile at each other, surprised at how synchronized you both are.

Quickly applying pressure to his shoulders to hold him down, you offered him a sly smile.

“ You’re distracted today.”

Eyes widening like a deer caught in headlights, Jungkook stared at you in disbelief. However, instead of normally finding it cute, you felt annoyance coursing through your veins.

Leaning down towards his right ear, you whispered, “ Didn’t I say that when we are outside, don’t show any unneeded emotions?”

Feeling the warm air tickle his skin, Jungkook couldn’t help but shuddered at the humidity. Feeling his face heating up at your close proximity, a flustered cloud began to corrupt his currently sobered mind.

Unconsciously licking his lips, he looked into your eyes, completely ignoring your question. You, however, were too far into your head to even noticed the gaze he was giving you.

“ Hmm? Not answering me now?”

Unconsciously tugging his lips down forming a pout, he looked at you with such a deadly gaze making you unable to continue teasing him. Feeling the need to tease him melt away, you both were now left with an awkward air of silence, with you still pinning him down.

Hastily standing up, you pulled out your arm to offer him assistance. Grabbing your hand, Jungkook quickly stood up before distancing himself from you, still flustered from what had just happened.

Stealing glances at his direction, you acknowledged how similar he is to a tomato — as crimson as anyone can get, really. You were sure that you were on that route also, but you definitely won’t let it affect you as much as Jungkook does.

Glancing over to one of the maids, you motioned them to come over. Grabbing one of the cloth that was prepared, you began to wipe your sweaty face with it before dismissing all the servants.

Finally, you can breathe normally with no potential spies.

“ I think that’s enough for today, Jungkook,’ you said, turning around you, going to get both of yours and his swords, “ Go back and rest for today.”

Shaking his head in deny, Jungkook ran up to you, “ Your majesty, who would prote—“

Despite his obvious resistance, you didn’t look over to his direction and instead walk over to the cabin nearby, “ Not you of course.”

“ But your majesty, I can continue t—“

Entering the cabin, you approached one of the nearby wooden shelves, carefully setting the swords to its original positions, “ With you being this distracted, I would die before you would even be able to unsheathe your sword.”

Turning around, you headed towards the small table while hearing all of Jungkook’s excuses. Taking a seat facing opposite of him, you gestured for him to join you. Reluctantly, Jungkook took a seat in front of you. However, before he could even open his mouth to continue his speech, you were quick to start yours.

“ So tell me, why are you so distracted today?”

Choosing to find interest in the swirls of the wooden table, Jungkook stayed silence at your questioning.

Seeing how quiet he suddenly became, you knew that something major must have happened if it would bother him this much.

“ What happened? Did someone bully you again?”

Shaking his head, Jungkook diverted his attention to the various weapons displayed in the room.

“ Then?”

Continuing to question him, you crossed your left leg over your right, leaning against the chair and patiently waited for his answer.

Soon enough, Jungkook became much more agitated, “ If I tell you the reason, you promised to not yell at me?”

“ Yell at you? Did you break something?”

“ No, no, no, that’s not what happened.”

“ Then what?”

Looking up to meet your eyes, he hesitantly answered, “ It’s about you disappearing yesterday’s night.”

“ Hmm?... you were worried about me?”

Feeling his cheeks heat up at your comment, Jungkook wanted to dig up a whole and hide there forever. Letting out a nod as a response, you smiled amusingly at his answer.

“ Don’t worry. I won’t kill myself,” you mindlessly said.

At your statement, Jungkook immediately looked at you, stunned at what you just said.

“ Kill yourself? That was a possibility? Did you get injured last night?”

“ Of course not. How would I get injured if I was going out for a walk.”

“ A walk? Outside of the palace?”

“ … Is that a problem?”

Shaking his head, “ Of course not, I wouldn’t dare… but I would have preferred to go out with you.”

Pretending to not hear what he said, you leaned closer, “ I beg your pardon? Repeat that again.”

Seeing him attempting to come up with coherent responses, you find yourself developing a need to pinch his cheeks.

Fidgeting with his fingers, he meekly rephrased his words, “ If you may, the next time you go for an outing, especially during the night, please tell me. At least I would know where you are.”

Satisfied with his reply, you reached over and gently patted his head soothingly, “ I will try.”

Even though your comment was not the best, it assured him that you will still put in the effort to tell him beforehand.

Deciding to end the conversation at that, you stood up and began to leave. Before fully stepping out of the shed, you stopped and waited for Jungkook.

Seeing that you were waiting for him, Jungkook swiftly stood up and approached you.

Staring at you, Jungkook couldn’t help but be curious of your identity before entering the palace.

Who are you?

The walk back to your courtyard was silent yet comfortable. Though, that soon got cut short the moment you entered your study.

Your attendant, Chin-Hwa, who was busily organizing your workload but immediately came to your side the moment he sensed you coming in.

“ Reporting to your majesty, the candidates for your future concubines have arrived.”

Perking in interest at the newly given information, you gaze over at the scrolls already stacked on your desk. Heading over to the desk, you sat down on the chair and began to look through the pile of scrolls, knowing that Jungkook has already dismissed himself from your presence.

Mentally sighing at the tall pile in front of you, you begrudgingly took the top one and unfolded it. Untying the knot, you skillfully unroll the scroll and examine the portrait on it. Skimming through the little synopsis at the left corner, you were quick to roll it back and put it on the side, swiftly moving on to the next one.

“ The ministers have gone through this?”

“ Yes, your majesty. The ministers wanted the absolute best for the Empress/Emperor.”

“ Tch, more like to keep a collar around my neck,” you muttered.

Continuing to go through the scrolls, one after another began to find themselves in the denied tray. Truthfully, at this point, you wouldn’t really care who entered your harem. As a result, you were just mindlessly flipping through the scrolls for show.

About half way through the pile, you find yourself staring at a particular portrait. You can still identify the brush strokes that have left a warm beige color behind. High cheekbones that perfectly compliments his bright eyes, and cherry-liked lips to highlight his beautiful features.

For the first time in the entire evening, Chin-Hwa supervised the scroll’s journey to the accepted tray, content that you have at least chosen one. This way, he, at least, doesn't have to hear the ministers complain about how the harem is so limited for a few weeks, better yet, a few months even.

The next candidate was chosen two-thirds of the way through. He was a son of a merchant that has recently entered high nobility after his debut. With both good looks and a wealthy background, he was sure a sight for the eyes.

Placing him to the still-empty tray, you tiredly rub your eyes, exhausted by today’s events.

Aimlessly thrusting your arm out, you randomly picked out a scroll and threw it over to the tray, deciding to end the day.

“ That’s enough for today,” you said, letting out a yawn.

Chin-Hwa, who was equally tired as you, sleepily nodded his head in agreement. Grabbing the trays, he began to compile them together.

“ The ones I have chosen will enter the palace as concubines.”

Chin-Hwa, who previously couldn’t keep in a yawn, stopped himself in the process when he heard your words. Running around the table to your side, he gave you a looked to help him confirm what he had just heard.

Not wanting to answer him, you just nodded, getting ready to leave your study. Unfortunately, Chin-Hwa was quick to latch onto your clothes, desperately tugging you the opposite way.

“ Your majesty, please reconsider. These candidates are sons of well known figures and nobles from foreign countries. They will act as the bridge to connect the two countries,” he pleaded, “ Making them concubines, with no official power will anger the countries.”

Looking down at the pitiful figure, you let out a sigh and tried to get him to detangle his limbs with yours but to no avail. Combined with how exhausted you were, Chin-Hwa’s stubbornness was beginning to get under your skin.

“ Chin-Hwa, if you don’t detach yourself from my leg, don’t think I wil—”

Thankfully, knowing what you were suggesting, your attendant immediately jumped away from you, almost as if he was allergic to your presence.

“ Do as I say,” you ordered, “ If any of the ministers say anything, direct them to me. I will speak with them personally if there is any problem.”

Flinching at your sudden tone, Chin-Hwa knew to not get on your nerves and followed your orders. He hurriedly grabbed the scrolls, and headed out of the room to deliver them to the department who manages the harem.

Despite how constant the minister pesters him, he nonetheless prefers their annoying whines than your simple yet chilling stare.

Seeing him step out of the study, you felt as though a ton of bricks had been lifted off your chest, breathing becoming much easier than before. Bringing your hand to the top of your nose, you tiredly rubbed them hoping to rub away some of the strain.

Stepping out of the study, you proceeded to your private chambers, ready to get some rest. However, your gut was telling you that the moment the sun rises, chaos will ensue whether you like it or not.

☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️

Wincing at the rays of sunlight that have victoriously passed through your eyelids, you unconsciously raise your left arm to cover your eyes, leading to you letting out a silent groan. Immediately relaxing your arm, you let it drop to your side, doing the exact same move but with the only uninjured arm.

Tugging the blanket over your head, you let out a happy sigh, snuggling into the soft fabric comfortably.

Despite knowing that the sun is already on its way to the highest point, you continue to dismiss the idea and instead utilise this time to relax and stay in bed. Unfortunately, a knock had cut your time short with your blanket.

Letting out a curse, you groggily sat up, mindlessly yawning caused by your previous slumber. Mindfully stretching out your body, careful to not cause a strain to your injured arm, you looked over at the shadow glazing over the thin veils.

Leaning against the bed, you allowed the person to enter.

Gently pushing your doors open, Jungkook quickly entered, closing the doors after his entrance, eyes shaking in anxiousness.

Seeing his frantic state, you couldn’t help but be intrigued at the upcoming news.

“ What is it?”

“ I apologize for interrupting your majesty in such an early time,” Jungkook said, bowing down in greeting and apology, “ However, there is currently a turmoil — commotion within the palace.”

“ For what reason?” You asked, despite you already having a feeling of knowing the reason.

Seeing how nonchalant you are, Jungkook gulped down a mouthful of air, and hesitantly answered, “ … Reporting to your majesty, the ministers as well as the harem appeared to have contradict opinions on admitt— expanding the harem.”

Defeatedly sighing at your correct gut feeling, you no longer felt the want to relax in bed. Scooting over to the edge of the bed, you rise up to your feet before going over to the table, taking a seat facing a standing Jungkook. Pouring yourself a cup of tea to hydrate yourself while glancing over to the doors, imagining how chaotic it truly is behind those doors.

“ What do they want to achieve by knocking on by door at this time of the day?”

“ To my knowledge, many of the ministers have gathered for a personal audience with your majesty.”

“ Without notifying me beforehand?” you sarcastically said, “ How desperate… What’s the harem’s response to this?”

“ The harem has been silent about this matter but I guarantee you that none of the consorts are satisfied.”

Looking down at your cup, seeing your image reflected on the surface, you smiled, “ Satisfied? Is that really an appropriate word? Of course they wouldn’t be happy with my decision. No sane person would want to share the same spouse, especially with how similar this relationship is to a life-contract.”

Setting the cup down, you stood up and approached Jungkook, who only looked at you, stunned. Placing your right hand against his cheek, “ You must be confused. Think of this as … you applying what you have learned thus far. You might now understand what I’m doing, but when you piece these seemingly useless and reckless decisions together, I guarantee you that you will be surprised.”

Retracting your hand, you chuckle at how flustered the boy looks. Turning around, you headed to the window before pushing the doors open, bathing in the warm sunlight.

“ Sometimes, Jungkook, you have to sacrifice your personal feelings for a greater cause, a greater benefit,” you explained, admiring how bright it is, “ In these times, your personal feelings and emotions are what caused you to be vulnerable. Greedy — bad people feed off your vulnerability and benefit from your weakness.”

Feeling him approach you, you momentarily stop your speech before continuing after sensing him stand a meter away from you.

“ That’s why, in order to prevent getting used as a shield or even control, you must hide that vulnerable side,” turning around, you meet his confused gaze, “Better yet, destroy it even.”

Seeing how distracted he has become, you quickly throw your arm out, unsheathing his sword, pressing it against his skin.

Not able to react in time, Jungkook could only stand there, completely paralyzed under your deadly stance.

“ See this? I have just utilized your weakness and turned it into my killer move. If I really want you dead, your head would have been separated before you even bat an eyelash.”

Continuing to press the blade against his skin, you applied more pressure until the skin began to break and blood ooze out. Withdrawing the sword, you wiped the blood with the towel nearby before putting it back to its case.

Bringing your hand up to hold his head in place, you examined the start change that you have inflicted on him.

“ It’s just a scratch. No need for a bandage,” you said, “ I’ve just shown you a very direct example. Most of the time, it won’t be that obvious.”

Jungkook nodded, bringing his hand up, rubbing his neck sheepishly.

“ You don’t have to understand what I mean instantly. Go back today, and think about what I just told you. Questions will be answered the next time we see each other.”

At your words, Jungkook unconsciously tilted his head, “ You won’t be attending the audience today, your majesty?”

Walking back to your previous spot as you answered, “ I won’t be going. The more desperate they get, the easier they will make a major mistake…”

Grabbing a long ribbon, you began to tie up your hair, “ You’re dismissed.”

Making a final bow, Jungkook quietly exited the door, bringing your words and orders with him. He definitely has to spend some extra time today going through your previous words to try and understand what you were hinting.

Meanwhile, you mentally thanked Jungkook for taking charge of dismissing all those people, not wanting any more distractions to interrupt your day.

Going over to your wardrobe, you began to dress up for the day.

Since you have canceled today’s audience, you have adorn a more casual outfit.

Normally, you would have let the maid dress you up since that was the expected treatment of a monarch. However, with you being injured, you couldn't risk this information exiting your palace from an outsider’s mouth.

You pride yourself in admitting only trusty people or allies, but you could never be too sure. What are the chances of them switching sides for a greater benefit?

After you finished your routine, you called the maids to begin serving breakfast. Soon enough, various dishes were brought in, quickly filling up the table. After dismissing the maids — to their dismay, you quietly ate your food in silence.

After the initial scares from the maid — terrified at the thought of you getting dressed on your own, you were more than glad to finally have some peace.

After breakfast, your day seemed to pass in a blur; with you changing schedules, you were quick to find yourself back in your study, once again going through the countless documents.

Chin-Hwa, who had quickly entered after your arrival, continued to stand by your side in case of you needing any assistance. He did try to mention the matter of the harem candidates multiple times, but was quickly shut down with you interrupting the conversation about another — more important subject.

You weren’t in the mood to have someone lecture you about your harem, especially if you were bound to get told off by other people later on.

Before you knew it, you had finished going through the pile of various affairs with the accommodation of the sun reaching its highest point, signifying that it was time for a break.

Sipping on your tea, you ponder about the evening’s events as you jot down a few ideas. Now that you have finished today’s workload, you have the evening to yourself, without any work-related business to bother you. Instead of doing something productive, you ultimately decided to just go with the flow and see what the evening will present you with.

As if waiting for you to decide on that, a maid came into the study along with an unexpected announcement.

Bowing at your presence, the maid said, “ Your majesty, there is a guest wanting to meet you.”

Hearing that, you knew that this particular person wasn’t an official since they wouldn’t have the permission to even interact with Chin-Hwa with Jungkook guarding the gate. Meaning that this person must have some importance and have a close relationship with the servants.

“ Who?”

“ The Imperial Consort, your majesty.”

Smiling at the title mentioned, you set down your brush.

Fate must really enjoy playing with me.

Sorry I rarely send asks, school has been a jerk. Anywho, Do you like reading comics? Both Online or irl

-🌼 Anon

It’s fine, annonie. I don’t even get asks so yours extra special. School’s been kicking my bottom too ( you doing alright)?

I do read comics — if you count manga, manhua, and manhwa. I also read other types of comics but those three are usually what I find myself into. Generally, I would lean more towards online since it’s more convenient but I do find physical copies nostalgic on its own. How bout you?

Soundlessly dodging the dozens of spikes obtruding from the hefty branches above, you continued your trek down the valley. Careful to not alert any unwanted guests, you tucked your sword under your left arm while gently swatting the branches that were hindering your view with the other.

Like losing your vision, everything surrounding you was pitch black. Even if anyone were to stand right in front of you, chances are that you wouldn’t even be able to see the lightest speck of color. Fortunately, with your oil lamp, you have prevented another candidate of wanting your life.

To be honest, you must admit that having to travel through this particular part at night was not the wisest decision. However, with precious time gnawing at your throat, travelling through the night would have to do.

Knowing how much time has been wasted, you couldn’t let the slight burning sensation resulting from your cuts hinder your way, especially with how dangerous it currently is...

… and that you’ve lost your entire group.

In a moment of chaos, you and the rest of the group got separated. With adrenaline wracking your body, you remembered looking into Taehyung’s terrified eyes before he was dragged by Panther in the opposite direction.

A pack of wolves had invaded your group from above, dividing you guys into two fractions. Knowing that you had a better chance of dealing with it, you prompted to lure it towards your direction.

Just by glancing your way, Panther knew what you were hinting. Quickly grabbing Taehyung and Namjoon, he swiftly pulled them towards him and into the trees, safely shielding them from the ongoing attack and began to go the opposite way.

Meanwhile, you were fully engaged in the battle. With your sword unsheathe, you charged forward, taking the offense role.

Dodging at the canines that were aiming at your neck, you took the opportunity to swing your sword, successfully getting rid of one.

A dozen more to go.

Backing away from the pack, you quickly took off your cloak, throwing it aimlessly at the floor. Tightening your grip on the sword, you let out a frightening grin underneath your mask.

It’s been a while since I’ve spilt this much blood.

Standing still, you made no move to attack, taking the defensive role, and patiently waited.

Looking into the largest wolf’s eyes, you proudly showed off your arrogance, challenging its dominance and control.

As if provoked by your provocation, it began to run towards you, aiming at your neck. As soon as the wolf made their move, you thrust your sword towards it, blood quickly coating your sword. Letting out a pained howl, it retreated, falling back behind the walls of its pack.

However, amidst your victorious moment, a wolf managed to sneak behind you, leaping onto you and aggressively tore down your flesh.

Jolting at the sudden sensation, you let out a hissed, your stance faltering with its weight. Trying your best to maintain your ground, you stuck your sword into the wolf, ripping it away from your bloodied arm. Kicking the wolf that had approached you, you continue your massacre.

After getting rid of a few more, your wrecked body was greeted with a wave of exhaustion. Wavering at the abuse your body has gone through, you dismissed the desperate signs that your body was producing to remove yourself from the situation. Instead, you were quite proud of your accomplishments, glad that you have shown multiple examples to the remaining wolves.

After you had injured the largest wolf, their Alpha, you noticed how each wolf became much more hesitant than the last when attacking you.

Looking at your bloodied sword, you ripped a part of your tattered shirt and wiped off the blood from your face as well as your sword, before carefully sheathing it.

Looking back to the wolves that were surrounding their Alpha, you began to make your way towards them. As you approached, you noticed their slightly cowered positioned along with the pained whimpers coming from the Alpha. Next to it, there lies another wolf, who you presumed was the Luna, was licking the Alpha’s eyes.

Grimacing at its wounded eye that was caused by you, you ripped off another piece of fabric.

Closing the space between you and the pack, the wolves continue to shake under your watchful eyes. However, you ignored that and brought your hands around the half-blinded wolf’s head.

Failing to scare you off with its growls, it could only helplessly lie there while you tie the cloth around its head, applying pressure to prevent it from losing any more blood.

You were pleasantly surprised by how compliant all the wolves were. None of them, even the younger ones, have attacked you when you were taking care of their Alpha.

They must have understood my intentions.

Rising up from your knees, you painfully headed back to grab your cloak. Putting it back on, you pulled the hood up to fully cover your hair. Picking up the lamp you previously set down, you were about to leave and search for your group, you felt something limply gnawing on your pants.

Turning around, you saw the giant wolf chewing on your pants. Not knowing what to say, you made some attempts to yank your pants away but to simply no avail.

He still has strength… What does he want?

Thankfully, when the wolf receives your attention, it detaches itself from you. However, it continues to surprise you when it settled itself in front of you, sitting on its bottom. Soon after, the others began to approach you both and follow in suit.

They only do that when they…

Grinning widely at their actions, you patted the Alpha’s head to show your approval. Kneeling down to its ear, you silently whispered to the wolf before standing up. Glancing over to the rest of the wolves, you ended up meeting Luna's eyes. Boring their eyes into yours, you couldn’t help but shuddered at how intense it is. However, you understood what she had put out and will definitely respect that.

Looking into the Alpha’s eyes on last time, you silently bided them before turning around and headed to your next destination.

I have a feeling that we will meet again.

After trudging out of their sight, your body faltered against the tree nearby. Releasing a heavy breath, you looked around, finding nothing but trees and darkness. As expected, this particular part looked almost identical to any other part, making you unable to decipher your exact location under the haze of exhaustion.

However, what you were thankful for was how the forest is set up.

From an outsider’s view, it might just be like any other group of trees. However, to you and many others, the Midnight Forest is your home, deeply rooted into your blood and flesh, passing from one generation to another. Even before the initial fame, your clan has already been living and protecting this precious land, knowing its true value better than anyone else.

As a result, you knew the principles of the layout. As long as you reach the Crescent Pond, you would be able to live another day, and hopefully the others will as well.

With that in mind, you shakily lift your lantern up and head to where you hoped they were.

Unlike your previous state, your muscles ached with the slightest movement. Gritting your teeth to stay conscious, you still continued despite the obvious signs of a major blood loss.

Careful to not produce any unneeded sounds, you find yourself breathing heavier as you continues on, getting harder to cover them up. However, just the thought of attracting another batch of carnivores because of you accidentally tripping over a rock, and falling down has made your mouth dried up incredibly.

You definitely would be the prey this time around.

With another motivation, you quicken your steps, awkwardly jogging forward, but nevertheless continuing to enter the depth of the Midnight Forest.

Crescent Pond… you guys have to be there.

As you continue to walk further to what you assume was the center, you had a feeling that the moon is currently at its highest peak, meaning that you only have a few hours left until you were in a bigger mess.

Flinching at the single stray of light that entered your vision, you unconsciously stammered back, not used to the light. However, you were vibrating from the joyous feeling boiling from your core.

Finally, you’ve arrived at the Crescent Pond.

Because of its crescent shape, and the only place where moonlight can shine through, it was one of the easiest and safest places beside the center.

There was even an insider proclamation that as long as you reach the pond and know the principle, it is guaranteed that you will arrive at the center alive. You normally wouldn’t succumb to those ignorant claims, but right now, it seems to be the option. Hopefully, your desires were strong enough to manifest it.

Taking a few moments to get used to the illuminated scene, you noticed how nothing had seemed to change. The pond itself was as mesmerizing as you have remembered, glistening with the moonlight.

Relocating yourself against a nearby rock, you drowsily slumped to the ground, too tired to bother how dirty you will be. With that particular jolt, your knees immediately unbuckle and down you went.

Groaning at your unpleasant descent, adrenaline began to leave your body, knowing that you’re safe for now. Animals, especially nocturnals won’t attack you as long as you’re here, afraid of the light that would hinder their vision.

Setting your attention on your wound, the bandage that you have wrapped was soaking wet. Grimacing at the sight, you were reminded of the pain that knocked your breath out.

It seemed as though you made it worse from the constant use of it during your way here. Letting out a small smile, you rest to the best of your ability and waited for the arrival of your companion.

“ You better get here fast, Panther. I’m dying from the pain here just waiting for you guys.”

☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️

“ Let me go!” Taehyung yelled out, struggling to escape Panther’s hold, “ I have to go back and help them!”

Pulling the grown man towards him, Panther steadily lead the way with Namjoon following behind, seemingly in a daze.

“ Queen, you know that you will only hinder Phoenix's way by being there.”

Flinching at the harsh statement that pulled him back to reality, Taehyung stopped his scuffling yet still remained in Panther’s hold. Contorting his face in discontent at the helpless feeling, tears started to accumulate in his eyes. Trying to contain the waterfall, Taehyung quietly got out of Panther’s hold, avoiding eye contact with any of them.

Despite wearing a mask, Panther could tell how frustrated Taehyung was but ultimately ignored it, deciding it would be best for him to be alone.

Walking in absolute silence, the pair continued to follow Panther, not knowing where they headed to.

Namjoon, who had finally snapped out of his haze, looked towards Taehyung, before giving him a gentle pat on the shoulder as comfort.

Securing his grip on his lamp, he was reminded of your comment to not let go no matter what happened. And right now, that was what he is clinging to, a tiny thread of hope.

Blinking slowly, Namjoon let out a shaking breath, still not over what had just happened. However, he does have an idea where Panther is headed to.

“ We’re going to the Crescent Pond, aren’t we?”

Not glancing back, Panther replied, “ We are. It’s the only area in the forest that has light.”

Namjoon nodded, agreeing with Panther, “ Y/N would also be there I’m assuming.”

At the mention of Y/n, Taehyung perked up and slowly tuned into the conversation, hopeful of getting to see you again.

“ If the plan goes as expected, they should be there after dealing with the wolves.”

Scowling at Panther’s comment, Taehyung hisses out, “ Planned out? If this was planned out then why did those wolves attack us? Why are we even here in the middle of the night?”

“ Careful, Queen,” Panther warned, “ You should know that we couldn’t prevent this from happening. For the latter question, go ask the Master yourself.”

Recoiling at his tone, Taehyung immediately shut his mouth, knowing that it was true. Even if he wanted to complain, he would not dare to speak so rashly in front of the Master, himself.

Hopelessly sighing at Taehyung’s impulsiveness, Namjoon redirected the conversation to the current situation.

“ How far until we reach the pond?”

“ We should reach the pond in half an hour if everything goes smoothly,” Panther said.

Nodding at his words, Taehyung and Namjoon fastened their pace, wanting to close the gap between them and you.

Seeing their urgency, Panther quietly whispered, “ Phoenix will be fine. They’ve been doing this for years. Besides, they’re the child of the Crimson branch’s head. They’ve been trained for this.”

Agreeing with Panther’s comment, Taehyung relaxed at the thought of Y/n being alive.

Content for different reasons, the trio hurriedly scurried towards their destination.

☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ ☁️

Leaning your head against the rock, you pondered, “ When will they come?”

For what you have presumed was half an hour of tormenting your tattered body, your eyes began to feel heavy, lazily drooping to follow the call of dreamland.

However, you knew that chances of you not waking up would probably outweigh the other if you ever give into the temptation. As a result, you had to humour yourself with the eerie surrounding.

Taking into the dead silent trees, one would have assumed that the forest held no life if it wasn’t for the starved creatures waiting for their prey.

You, of course wasn’t fooled, especially after just dealing with those rogue wolves.

Though, if one were to observe a little more, the slight swish of the leaves as it dances along with the wind held a tempting invitation to enter the forestry maze, and never leave it. You must admit that the forest, itself, behaves more like animals than its own inhabitants.

However, after that interaction, it made you curious how different these creatures were from the outside. As unpleasant as that encounter was, the wolves were much wiser and sharper than the ones you have ever encountered outside. Maybe someone has trained them but that was unlikely since you would have known them as long as they’re within the clan.

Getting confused at the possibility, you didn’t notice the slight noises behind the bushes. You were also too numb to feel the light footsteps that were headed towards you at a swift pace.

Unfortunately, you only became aware of their movements the moment they’re standing behind you, pointing their sword towards you.

You didn’t dare turn around and instead asked with a calm demeanour, “ What have you come here for?”

However, your questions were not answered. Instead, all you got were footsteps coming towards you until they were pressing you against the rock, now painted with your blood.

Wincing at the added pressure against your wound, you laughed at the mere thought of ending your life here.

“ Who sent you?” You amusingly asked, “ What’re you achieving in coming after me?”

Noticing that the person had yet to confiscate your sword, your suspicion slowly took a turn to something else.

“ Did the Master send you here?” Turning around to stare into the piercing hazel eyes, you couldn’t contain yourself and burst out, laughing. You didn’t care how many creatures would be attracted by your voice, all you cared about was how entertaining this was,” What are you doing here, Viper?”

Stumbling back at getting caught, Viper could only stare at you, wide eyed.

Bringing your right leg against your thigh, you propped your head on top of it, “ Did you really think that this was enough to trick me? Is this really your way of welcoming your sunbae?”

Regaining his composure, Viper couldn’t help but let out a scoff, shocked at your comment. Gently stroking his caramel hair, he said, “ My sunbae? You jest. You don’t have what it takes to be my superior.”

Chuckling at his answer, you slowly dragged your right hand across the grass, enjoying the calming sensation that came with it, “ You might not like it, but as long as you are alive, I will always be your sunbae.”

Reacting to your words, the brunette stomped towards you and harshly reached over the rock and grabbed your left shoulder, “ You dare!... What is this? Why are you bleeding so much?”

Wincing at the unexpected damage, you clenched your teeth to prevent a groan and muttered, “ Let go of my arm.”

With little to no delay, Viper swiftly removed his grip from your arm. You could tell how much your wound had disturbed him but decided to ignore it, knowing this was not the time.

Walking around the boulder, Viper winced at how bloody your wound was. Ripping a piece of his hanbok, he skillfully replaced your soaked ones with his.

Silently thanking him, you both remained silent, not knowing what to say.

“ … It’s been a while since we’ve talked.”

“ Of course, after you took in that little brat, you barely had any time to interact with others outside of your branch.”

Smiling fondly of his little sulking episode, you teased him, “ I thought that you didn’t care whether I have the time or not? You were alw—“

Shutting your comment with a glare, Viper retorted, “ Continue that and I’ll make sure to make you enter the core in pieces!”

Knowing that you couldn’t handle his torment, you eagerly nodded to move on.

“ What are you doing here?”

Rolling his eyes at your question, he sarcastically answered, “ I’m here to pick flowers and go for a walk.”

Looking unamused at his reply, you decided to copy him, “ Really? I was also out for a walk but unfortunately tripped on a branch and have a gash on my arm that is killing me.”

By just looking into his eyes, you can tell how much disdain he currently has towards you, “ But seriously, what are you doing here? I don’t think the Viridian branch is in charge of guarding the territory.”

“ Of course we don’t. Our clan isn’t part of the physical sector like yours. Besides, it’s much better to stay in one spot and do all the tasks there. After all, the best place for us are the forest themselves.”

“ That still doesn’t answer why you wanted to kill me.”

Groaning at your stupidness, he said, “ Are you in a haze from all the pain? I’m obviously joking with you!”

Of course, you knew that he didn’t have any negative intentions other than wanting to tease you, but you couldn’t help yourself to let go of what he just did.

“ You do know that you basically broke the oath of not harming the clan members, right?” You taunted, “ Besides, I’m on my way to report back to the Master. What would you do if I blame my wound on you?”

Proudly straightening his back, he puffed up his chest and stated, “ As long as you don’t tell the Master that you encountered me on your way here, then I’ll be fine. Besides I’m your hoobae, why would you want to bully me?”

Blinking continuously at his unshameful response, you weren’t able to form any coherent responses.

“ Forget it, if you are reporting back to the Master then I’ll accompany you.”

Shaking your head at his offer, “ There’s no need for you to do that. Even though I’m wounded, I’ll still be able to reach the center properly. Besides, I’m waiting for my group.”

Perking up at the mention of your group, Viper distastingly asked, “ Group? You mean the little kids that were running around you?”

“ Kids? Hydrangin is only a few months younger than you while Queen is your hoobae of a few years,” you said, “ We got separated by an invasion so I’m waiting for them here.”

“ And you handled all of them on your own? How utterly reckless.”

You shrugged, not displeased with your decision but slightly winced at the little pricks from your arm, “ It was indeed reckless but I had a better chance of defeating them. Hydrangin and Queen aren't proficient in martial arts, and Panther is skilled in another area. It was either me or we died as a group.”

“ Hydrangin is part of my branch, he should have the resources to help you deal with the creatures here.”

“ He normally would have but we were in a hurry and didn’t want to be slowed down by them.”

“ You utterly useless group! How did you even become one of the best?”

At his words, you didn’t know how to reply and instead chose to awkwardly laugh it out of the problem. Thankfully, Viper was humane enough to let you escape his sharp fangs.

Feeling something hit your chest, you looked down to find a block of something. Glancing up at Viper, you waited for his explanation.

“ Anyways, I’ll be going now,” heading back to where he previously came out from, Viper greeted you, “ We’ll talk at another time. Make sure to enter in one piece, Phoenix.”

“ We will.”

And with that he disappeared into the depths of the forest.

Grabbing the chunk of medicine, you brought it to your mouth and began to chew on it. Despite not knowing what exactly it is, you continued to chew until you had absorbed all the nutrients and spitted out.

Sighing at the loneliness that once again enveloped you, you unconsciously mopped around, waiting for them.

To what had been many minutes later, you finally felt your heart lightening up at the sight in front of you.

Contrary to you, however, the people standing opposite of you were petrified by your condition.

“ Phoenix… you are in one piece?”

“ Of course I’m in one piece,” you answered, “ Just a little gr—“

Before you can finish your sentence, you felt a powerful force being pushed against your right side, whipping you against the boulder.

Tightening his grip around you, you felt tiny droplets begin to soak your sleeve.

“ Queen, why are you crying?”

Feeling him shaked his head, digging deeper into your neck, you brought your uninjure hand up and patted his head.

“ I’m alive so don’t worry,” you reassured, “ Now help me stand up if you will.”

Taehyung nodded, quickly wiping his tears before helping you up. Namjoon who was nearby, rushes to help you, taking your right arm over his shoulder to support your weight.

“ How did it become this bad?”

“ I was just a little careless, one of the rogue wolves got me when I was busy dealing with another. Nothing severe.”

“ Nothing severe?—,” Namjoon exclaimed.

“ Yes, nothing severe. Now if you would let this go, we’ve spent enough time here. We need to report back to the master.”

Namjoon, who was about to protest shut his mouth when he met your eyes, silently telling him that this was not the time.

And with that, you all started your way into the center, despite many disagreed eyes.

Least to be said, the center was not one would expect. Instead of being like the rest of the forest, the center was like a community, overfilling with life.

Legend has it that within the core of the forest, the center used to be the nest of the phoenixes. Or as you like to say, this was the home to the very first phoenixes. However, no one can really confirm the theory as that was even before humanity even obtained intelligence.

However, the myth still remains known as the creation of the clan itself.

The Scarlet Phoenix Clan, was an organization of occupations. Some may say that they are merchants, while some blatantly state that they are a web of the black market. Either way, the organization is known for its outstanding talents, who will accomplish any given task if deemed worthy.

The clan consisted of five branches, each named after one of the elements — metal, wood, water, fire, and earth.

The Titanium branch was your clan’s pride in craftsmanship, ranging from weapons to silverware, it was guaranteed that any product from them would be no better than the best.

Viper is part of the Veridian branch, who are masters in medicinal properties as well as poison. Namjoon is also part of the branch despite being registered under your branch.

To you the most cool-headed branch would be the Azures. In many ways, you were thankful for their patience, especially when they are the ones dealing with the paperwork. While some mainly work through the clusters of paperwork, many, like Taehyung, spend their entire lives on strategic and logical planning.

Next up is your branch, the Crimson branch specializes in physical combat. Ranging from direct to hidden attacks, your branch has it all. Known for your fiery yet strong moves, you guys wholeheartedly represent the fire element.

The final and last branch, the Golden branch was also a physical branch like yours. Specializing in long distance attack, they’re a great essential to more secretive missions. As a result, in their free time, members take shifts to help guard the territory.

With how diverse each branch is, you all get along quite well, having taught at a young age that each branch won’t survive without one another. So even if you are on bad terms with another branch, you would have to solve it one way or another for a higher chance of survival.

Members of the clan must be born or adopted into a branch and swore absolute loyalty to the clan. Of course, with this type of situation, the members could not reveal themselves to the general public and have to take an alias.

In some ways or another, it could be quite burdensome but it has to be done to have a form of assurance to the clan.

Built to showcase the five branches, the core was divided into five sections, with each area meeting at the center.

In the absolute center, there was the mansion of the Master, the one who overlooks the clan. Unlike other houses, the Master’s was the most extravagant and the one with the largest premises, simply because it is the place where most people work at — and where most documents are kept.

Countless people from different branches get employed to work at the Master’s mansion, helping the clan survive. After all, without everyone’s help, the clan would have disappeared generations ago, losing all the ancient value of it.

Following the servant that had greeted you at the entrance, you assumed that was where you are headed to now.

Walking up the stairs that leads to the Master’s study. Each step began to weigh heavier than the last as the distance between you and the Master decreased.

You have always dislike the Master’s mansion after the last Master ascended the position. The place was always filled with too much tension and mischief to your liking.

Though, you wouldn’t say anything as he does his duties properly and take care of the clan.

Once you all arrived in front of the door thanks to one of the servants, you waited for permission to enter.

After a few moments, he finally called you in.

“ Come in.”

Entering the room, the scent of medicine attacked your nostrils almost immediately. Crinkling your nose at the smell, you looked at the person sitting at the best in the middle, quietly enjoying his tea.

“ Greetings to the Master.”

As on cue, the four of you bowed down to properly greet the Master.

“ Mhmm,” looking up from his cup, he gazed over your guys’ bowed form, “ You lot are late.”

“ We apologize for the long wait, Master. There… were some issues that interrupted us from our journey.”

Raising his eyebrows at what you said, he stared at the bloodied mess of your arm, “ Issue? An issue that even injured the child of the head of the Crimson Branch?”

Hearing his slight sarcastic tone, you bit your lower lip to prevent any foolish words from coming out.

Seeing how you have taken the blow, Namjoon quickly came up with a reply to help you.

“ I apologize, Master. We were in such a hurry that the thought of an invasion hadn't once crossed our minds,” Namjoon reasoned.

“ I didn’t ask you, outsider! I was asking the child of Crimson’s branch Head.”

Flinching at his harsh words, you felt your blood boil at the audacity.

“ Master, please calm yourself,” you gritted out, obviously stating how inpatient you were, “ Hydragin was right, we were in too much of a hurry to have time consider these things. However, I assure you that it is all fine.”

Glancing at you in disdain, the Master obviously was not pleased about your actions to save Namjoon from him.

“ Whatever. Report to me about the current situation. What happened after the rebellion.”

Straightening up, you couldn’t help but let out a sigh, glad that he had moved on from the previous problem.

“ Reporting to the Master, before the initial rebellion, Corea was not doing that well. Famine has been spreading in the rural areas because of the major droughts that happen during the middle of the year.”

Continuing on about the various situations that have been happening, you put your focus on the information that you’ve memorized and not on the Master. As a result, you were made to face the scream of the Master.

“ I didn’t ask you to tell me the past! I told you to report your current plans!”

The irk that you have been desperately withholding seemed to be increasing in difficulty as the person in front of you continued to rant about your guys’ flaws.

“ … I apologize, Master,” you quietly said after his rant, “ Taehyung, would you do the favour and report our current plans?”

Flinching at the sudden call for him, Taehyung looked over at you, eyes telling you how betrayed he felt. However, you felt more than anything to get him to explain the plan, getting to take the credits.

Stepping up from his position from behind you, Taehyung respectedly looked at the Master and began to explain the plans.

Patiently waiting for Taehyung to finish, you mindfully directed the attention to Namjoon, who was the next to talk. Thankfully, this time, the Master didn’t say anything and everything went smoothly.

Almost smoothly.

Having been a few hours, your wounds have started to itch and are distracting you quite a bit. However, you had to keep things professional and tried to not show your discomfort.

Clenching your right hand to the fabric of your pants, you tried to forget the itching sensation that was gently nibbling your flesh. However, to your displeasure, your discomfort managed to escape your grasp and shone through.

Glancing over at your form, Namjoon continued to speak about the situation of the palace, “ In order to help balance and control the court, a harem has been created.”

Suddenly interested at the new information, the Master glanced over to see what your expression was.

“ A harem? This was not written in the letter. What is this all about, Phoenix?”

“ I apologize for not telling this to you sooner, there were much more important things that I had to fit into the letter and did not have the space to report such miscellaneous things.”

Despite how unbothered you sound, Taehyung felt an uncomfortable poke at his chest. Despite knowing that this was done to cover the harem situation, Taehyung still did not like how you had phrased it.

“ Originally it was decided that only the Queen would be at the position but the plan changed when the rebels started to group together to form their own fraction. There are still no leads to what they will do.”

“ So you created a harem to keep a leash around the leader?”

Balling your fist, and tensely nodded at the comment, “ Yes, Master. In order to control the fraction, I have made the leader’s oldest son and the previous dynasty’s heir join my harem.”

Lighting up at the sudden news, the Master happily nodded, “ Good, you did very well.”

Giving a slight bow, you thanked him for his praise.

“ I am expecting great results from you, Phoenix,” he stated, “ Now, you three leave the room. I have some things that I need to discuss with Phoenix. Alone.”

Swiftly bowing at the Master, the three quickly headed out.

After they left, an awkward silence was bestowed upon you. Not knowing what to say, you waited for him to begin the conversation.

“ Have you told them yet?”

“ No, I haven’t told them yet, Master.”

Leaning back against the chair, the master glanced at you, “ Then will you tell them?”

Shaking your head, you objected to the idea, “ I’m afraid that I will not have the chance to do so.”

Raising his eyebrows in confusion, “ You won’t have the chance? Hmmm… Interesting. Forget what I ask, you may go now.”

Offering him your final bow, you rushed out of the room, not wanting to be in his presence any longer.

Walking through the hallways, you noticed how bright it had become. Glancing over at the horizon, the bright light had begun to rise, signifying that dawn is coming.

Increasing your pace, you left the Master’s mansion to go to the clan’s entrance.

Looks like I won’t be able to greet him today. It’s fine, I’ll save it for some other occasion.

As expected, Taehyung and Namjoon were waiting for you there.

Nodding towards them, you attempted to step past them, leading the way. However, Namjoon was quick to block you.

Scrunching your forehead in confusion, you looked at Namjoon. Instead of looking into your eyes, Namjoon’s attention was drawn toward your left arm.

After looking down at the wound, you looked back at Namjoon, and smiled sheepishly.

Knowing what you meant, he rolls his eyes, “ I’ll deal with that when we’re on the carriage.”

Happy that he won’t treat it immediately and waste time, you ushered both of them to the exit before leaving.

Looking back to the ancestral landmark, you silently bid it goodbye.

Now, back to the palace we go.

Unlike previously, passing through the forest seemed more like a walk now. Since the sun have rise up now, the predators won’t be stupid enough to attack.

On the entire way, Taehyung, who has been oddly quiet, stuck to your side. Understanding what he meant, you only pulled him closer and entangled your hand with his, content with how comfortable it currently feels like.

Granted, you would have also ushered Namjoon to the hug but with your injured arm, doing it is much harder than saying it. As a result, you both had to accept him walking behind the two of you. Though, he did seem fine with the situation being like so.

After exiting the forest, you guys went to the nearest town and rented a carriage for the rest of your journey to the main city, and eventually to the palace.

Despite getting injured, you wanted to prolong the freedom you currently have. Having experienced firsthand how restrictive the palace is, you couldn’t help but cherish the few moments of freedom you have in the past few months.

Leaning your head against the wooden wall, you look over to the countless life that you passed by as your mind begins to drift to wherever. Going through different thoughts at such a slow yet peaceful pace that you could deceive yourself of dreaming.

When the carriage finally came to a halt, you all descended down, paid the servant a hefty pay, and thanked him.

As you left the palace in secret, it would make sense to also enter the palace in secret.

After dropping Namjoon off, you and Taehyung sneakily entered your courtyard. Taking turns to change into your sleeping attires, you both got ready for bed without a word. Practically melting against your soft sheets the moment you set your eyes on them, you snuggled further into the mattress. Letting the warm sun rays lure you to sleep, you continually wrapped your arms around Taehyung and began to relax. After getting some sleep, you would deal with your workload and the duties of a monarch.

However, as much as you want to ignore the servants call, it was practically impossible with their volume.

Flinching at the knock on your door, you grumpily sat up, careful to not bother Taehyung.

Speedily entering your chamber, the servant bowed at your form and said, “ Your majesty, a messenger from the Kim Tradings just informed that the Merchant of the South is arriving in three days.”

Blinking your eyes in confusion, still not entirely sober, you stared blankly at the servant.

“ Repeat what you just said.”

“ The Merchant of the South is arriving in Cheohae in three days.”

After confirming what you just heard is true, you slumped against the bed. Bringing your right hand to massage your temples, you definitely can’t wait until that day.

The palace will be in for a ride.

Oh! How about Going outside with them! I just need fluff rn lol

Here are some cotton candy to fulfill your cravings, love. Hope you’re doing fine 😊🌿

HaremAU!

BTS’ Reaction to Going Outside

Warnings: Nothing

Masterlist

Oh! How About Going Outside With Them! I Just Need Fluff Rn Lol

Chrysanthemums: this particular flower has been said to symbolise fidelity, optimism, and joy. Aside from their beauty, this is a flower that is long-lasting, low-maintenance and quite affordable.

Kim Taehyung

With his constant attempts to avoid doing anything physical, Taehyung does occasionally enjoys the outside setting.

However, most of his time would be spent bathing in nature’s warmth rather than interacting with others. Just having these little silent yet peaceful moments really replenishes his mental stability. It is also a time where memories of the past would revisit him.

Spending time just enjoying your presence under the sun’s warm gaze, and talking about your guys’ memories really makes Taehyung cherish it even more.

Also, don’t forget to bring Yeontan with you guys. As the proud parent of Yeontan, Taehyung would feel so much pride whenever you play with the little pup.

It reminds him of the family that he can come to whenever he needs them and that there are still people who cares for him.

“ The landscape here is so pretty! How did you find it?... Yeontan! Run with Y/n!”

Oh! How About Going Outside With Them! I Just Need Fluff Rn Lol

Kim Namjoon

Whenever you and Namjoon go outside, you both always end up in random bookstores littered throughout the different districts.

Spending your time talking about the manuscripts and writings that you both had previously read as you browse the stores.

Reaching out to grab what had interested you while tuning in to Namjoon’s conversation with the seller about the newly released medical books, you began to take out your wallet, preparing to pay for your guys’ items.

After deciding on what you wanted, you headed to the front of the store and payed for your items. Swiftly snatching the books that Namjoon had wanted, you turned around and exited the store after greeting the seller.

Hopelessly sighing at your attempts to prevent him room destroying the products, Namjoon greeted and thanked the seller before quickly running after you. On to the next store you both go.

“ You don’t need to do that, Y/n. You know I won’t accidentally rip the pages, it’s not possible... you can keep it until we get back.”

Oh! How About Going Outside With Them! I Just Need Fluff Rn Lol

Jung Hoseok

Coming from a noble household, Hoseok was surprisingly quite comfortable with the outside world. Maybe it’s his natural ability to befriend anyone or the friendly vibe that he gives off.

Either way, it definitely attracts quite a bit of people, even with him dressed as a commoner. You also noticed that he seemed more relaxed here than in the palace, almost as if he had spent years living here.

Anyways, always pay attention to where he is since he can easily disappear when he gets interested in something. Having experienced it a few times, Hoseok does have some presciences to stay close to you but when he gets excited, all of those get thrown out of the window with him rushing to whatever like an overexcited child.

“ The lady at that stall was so friendly, she even gave me an extra bun! You can have it... gasp, Look! They’re performing something, let’s go over there and see!”

Oh! How About Going Outside With Them! I Just Need Fluff Rn Lol

Min Yoongi

The amount of times Yoongi have ever step foot outside of the palace’s walls are in the single digits.

As a child, the vicious adults would constantly feed his curiosity by telling him all the myths involved in the streets, and how dirty it is.

As a result, he was quite hesitant in going out to the streets. However, Yoongi will go out as long as he is with you.

If you both are alone, without any guards or servants to accompany you; the trip will be quite interesting. Like a little child, he’s quite hesitant on venturing out so do expect him to be quite attached to you.

However, as he is in the public, he does have to maintain his little persona. To others, he might just look possessive of his companion, but to you, it was more like an act from an overly dramatic kitten. Though, you will have to make sure to keep that thought to yourself. After all, Yoongi has a reputation to uphold.

“ What is that? ... Food? Is it really edible? Is it safe to eat? Do I want to try? ... W-why a-are you buying them?”

Oh! How About Going Outside With Them! I Just Need Fluff Rn Lol

Jeon Jungkook

What originally was him accompanying you changed to you actually accompanying Jungkook. With his mixed bloodline, the streets have always been a pleasure break for him, especially with how hectic and annoying the palace can become.

As a result, Jungkook really enjoyed spending his time out here during his childhood.

However, as he gets older, he found himself getting more involved with the harem, hence not having the time to enjoy these simple things.

As a result, the moment he heard about your little outing, he’ll be sprinting out the door and prepare for the departure.

Dressing in commoner’s clothing reminds him of the peaceful days as a child where he could wander to wherever without getting pestered at.

With the familiar earthy smell of the ground and the loud crowds, Jungkook practically dragged you to every stall positioned on both sides, pushing his way through the crowd while still maintaining that goofy grin.

“ Your maj—, n-no I mean Y/n, do you perhaps enjoy this?... It’s so pretty and delicate!... Let’s go and see why they’re crowding over there!”

Oh! How About Going Outside With Them! I Just Need Fluff Rn Lol

Kim Seokjin

Convincing Seokjin to step out of his luxurious carriage is already difficult, but getting him to put away the roll of red fabric is practically impossible.

However, after pulling him out of the carriage, it was already too late to go back. So as a result, have fun with all of his nagging.

Being the rich merchant he is, Seokjin would pull you around pointing at every product while saying a sarcastic comment about their quality, as well as exaggerate his products to you.

With how loud he is, it is expected that every merchant would overhear your guys’ conversation and get offended by him degrading their product.

As a result of his obnoxious behaviour, the entire crew got chased by countless people, barely being able to get back to the palace in one piece. Looks like you will never do this with Seokjin again.

“ The quality of this candle is the worse I’ve ever seen. Mine is way better! Why are they looking at us like that?”

Oh! How About Going Outside With Them! I Just Need Fluff Rn Lol

Park Jimin

Despite his not so pleasant view on the outside world, it is the only place where Jimin’s secret low esteem gets replenish whenever he shows off his flirtatious side. Having people falling head over heels for his appearance makes him so giddy that he would do anything to make the most of it.

However, that doesn’t mean that he will completely ignore your presence because you’re his main target! Constant little flirts would be sent your way as you both venture in the streets until you both entered the beauty section.

Completely forgetting his previous intentions, Jimin’s eyes sparkled at the countless jewelry and accessories that were displayed. Practically hopping to every store, Jimin excitedly showed you all the items that had caught his eyes.

Paying for whatever he had picked out, you happily watched his interaction with the seller, glad to see the little innocence he had buried deep inside him.

“ Your— Y/n! Look at what I found! Doesn’t this match my eyes? Quick, come! I just saw this really pretty necklace!”

Oooh! I'm excited for the next Utopia series! Question! Did Yoongi have any siblings? If so, did Y/N killed them?

I’m glad that you’re enjoying the series. 😊

Regarding your question, it would be much easier to have multiple siblings considering how large the harem was in the previous dynasty ( and how vicious and competitive it was to gain favour).

The emperor doted on Yoongi because he was of legitimate bloodline between himself and the empress. Meaning that he was the only offspring between the emperor and empress. However, Yoongi did have multiple half-siblings that were killed during the power struggle within the harem.

Aside from his maternal side, Jungkook is his half brother as he’s the late empress’s bastard child.

Hope this answered your question.

How to Tell if You’ve Received a Sign ✨

image

Let’s face it, although it definitely feels exciting to think that you’ve been gifted a sign from the universe or any deities that you worship, not everything is a sign. In fact, most experiences aren’t a sign- but that’s not a bad thing! This just makes signs all the more special when we do receive one. Think about it: if we were sent signs from the universe or our deities all the time, they would slowly lose significance and meaning as they blended into the regular aspects of our lives. Eventually, they would no longer stand out to us and it’s possible we would stop noticing them altogether. So, don’t be discouraged if you realize that something you experienced wasn’t a sign- there will be plenty of opportunities for you to receive a genuine sign in the future when the time is right! If you’re having trouble discerning what experiences are actually signs and what’s just a coincidence, here are a few tips:

It probably was NOT a sign if…

The experience is suited to its surrounding environment- If something is likely to happen within a specific environment due to the nature of the environment, then it’s most likely not a sign, instead it’s just a result of your surroundings. For example, if you see a deer while you’re taking a walk through the woods, then that’s probably because you’re strolling through the natural habitat of a deer, not because you’re receiving a sign.

You haven’t requested a sign from the universe/your deities- If you haven’t reached out to your deities or asked the universe for a sign lately, then it’s more likely that your experience is just a coincidence. If there’s no present issue at hand that you’ve asked for help with, then there’s less explanation as to what message the sign could be carrying and too many possible meanings to examine.

You receive the experience in a way you’re not used to- Some people directly communicate to the universe/their deities that they would like to receive signs in a specific manner so that they can be sure it’s a genuine sign from their higher power. If you have done this and your experience is received in a way that’s different from the specifications you’ve asked for in a sign, then it’s more likely to be a coincidence or simply an odd experience.

The experience could have happened to anybody/is too general- Sometimes, we really need to ask ourselves if an experience is actually significant, or if it’s just a coincidence that could happen to anyone. For example, say you’re contemplating leaving a relationship and you happen to see a bird near you flying away. Is that a sign? Well, it’s not exactly specific or super significant to see a bird flying away. That could very well happen to anyone on any given day, therefore it’s likely not a sign.

You find yourself desperately trying to force meaning within your experience when there’s no true connection- It happens. At some point, we all have felt really lost in life, and as though we have no guidance. These feelings of helplessness and hopelessness can cause us to try and find meaning in our experiences when there’s no sign to be found. This is likely because, in these moments, we feel as though our lives themselves are lacking meaning, therefore we can become desperate to try and find significance in something else.

It’s likely that it WAS a sign if…

You have requested a sign from the universe/your deities- This is one of the first things you should consider when you’re trying to determine if your experience was a genuine sign! If you’ve clearly asked the universe or sent a prayer to your deities for a specific sign and you receive an experience shortly after, then it is significantly more likely to be an actual sign because it is an answer to your request rather than a random message being sent.

The experience matched the specifications you have requested- In your prayers to your deities/the universe, perhaps you have made it clear that you prefer to receive signs in a specific manner, such as asking to notice it within a certain time frame, or a specific number of times. This is usually done with the purpose of having extra ways to verify signs from the universe/your deities. Thus, if your experience matches the criteria you’ve requested, then it is significantly more likely to be a genuine sign.

There were repeated symbols within your experience- Consistent and clear repetition of specific actions, symbols, figures, meaningful numbers, or words is undeniably more meaningful than simply having one odd experience. In this case, your experience is much more likely to be a sign because the universe/your deities may be using repetition to catch and hold your attention.

The experience was highly unusual for its surrounding environment- The key element of this indicator is contrast. If the experience seems unsuited or ‘out of place’ for its environment, then it is more likely to be a sign because the specific experience is being highlighted in notable contrast to what is around you, which is another way of catching your attention.

There were specific symbols that connect to your deity- Most deities have specific symbols, figures, meaningful numbers, or words that are known to be connected to their role as a religious or spiritual figure. If your experience features key elements that tie to a deity you worship, then it is more likely to be a sign because there are specific references to your deity within your experience.

You felt an intense, distinct reaction to your experience that sparked an immediate connection- If you discover after your experience that you feel extremely certain that it is a sign, and this is paired with a distinct physical/emotional ‘gut’ feeling, then you should pay attention! This is likely your intuition telling you that this is a genuine sign.

With that said, this post isn’t meant to burst anyone’s bubble or tell you that your experience isn’t a ‘real’ sign! These are just some guidelines that I’ve created along my spiritual path that I use when I’m trying to interpret the signs and experiences I receive. If you have another set of guidelines of your own that differ from mine, that’s perfectly okay- our interpretations of spiritual experiences are allowed to have variation. You may believe an experience is a sign when I may not interpret it as such, or vice versa, and that’s cool! Don’t allow anyone to make you doubt yourself when it comes to your intuition and your gut feelings- After all, you have the deepest understanding of yourself and your spiritual path.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE ASIAN COMMUNITY AND WHATS HAPPENING TO THEM!

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE ASIAN COMMUNITY AND WHATS HAPPENING TO THEM!

hi guys! i dont normally make posts like this, but i feel like i need to speak out due to the platform i have on this app. recently, i’m sure you’ve been made aware of the violent and disgusting covid-based hate crimes targeted towards asians lately, not only in america, but pretty much everywhere. this type of behavior towards someone based on their race or ethnicity is absolutely inexcusable and vile. whether the attacks are micro-aggressions or physical assault, it is still harming the asian community and further associating asians with covid-19.

while this post may be informative, i am still white passing, meaning i have not experienced racism targeted towards me before. i can only provide so much information, as i have not been the target of racism-fueled attacks. i highly recommend that you read other resources written by bipoc in order to get a better understanding of what’s happening!

what can you do to help?

firstly, if you see a person getting attacked (verbally, physically, etc.) protect them! calmly intervene if it is safe for you to do so or inform the nearest authority figure near you.

reprimand your peers for their racism! racism comes in all shapes and form; it doesn’t just boil down to hate crimes and slurs. racist stereotypes you may think are ‘jokes’, micro-aggressions, and even drawing harmful assumptions on a person just because of their race are all examples of racism.

amplify asian voices! the asian community is speaking up against the surge of hate crimes, however, a lot of it is covered by media and algorithms! do research, listen to podcasts, watch interviews, repost, etc! the asian community is speaking, we have to listen.

use your privilege for the better. if you are white or white passing, it’s a given that you are born with more privileges based off of your appearance. while this privilege is unfair, we can still use our privileges for the better. if you see someone being discriminated against do not be afraid to speak up and say something! protect anyone you witness being the victim of racism-fueled aggression. use your platform to speak up about hate crimes!!

do not speak over bipoc voices! do not dismiss it if a bipoc person is telling you they would feel more comfortable if you did or didn’t do something; listen if they tell you a certain thing you or another person said or did was racist or wrong; let them use their voice! you can do this by allowing them to speak up on your platform (no matter the size), supporting them if they make a post or statement surrounding their experience as a bipoc, or just by listening to them!

finally, here are some resources that you should go read/support that will help you understand what is happening to the asian community and how you can help! this brief post i’ve made is only the tip of the iceberg, there is so much more you can do!

important + informational websites and articles

- report instances of hate crimes

- bystander intervention training

- learn about america’s long history of scapegoating its asian citizens

- ‘model minority’ myth

- the importance of asian and black solidarity

- stop covid-19 disinformation

- how you can help curb the surge of anti-asian violence

- what you can do about anti-asian violence

organizations

- stop aapi hate

- hate is a virus

- act to change

- asian americans advancing justice

- national council of asian pacific americans

- asian leaders alliance

fundraisers

- support the cause against anti-asian violence

- gofundme for vicha ratanapakdee

- (please message or send an ask if you have a personal gofundme or know of another gofundme surrounding this issue that you’d like me to add)

due to the fact that i am american, a lot of the resources are targeted more towards helping asian-americans. if you’re not from the states and have resources that could help support the asian community somewhere else, i highly recommend that you provide it whether it be in your own post or a reblog of this post!

please amplify asian voices! this post is not as informative as the ones i’ve linked and other posts that the asian community has made! please support those!!
