Also sorry I haven’t been posting I have been. Depressed LOL like actually bottom of the barrel first week of school to note I:
- did not get in the orchestra I was playing in for two years
- forgot to do a reading for one of my classes
- had a broken cupboard, dresser, AND lights and when the repair man came in I had just got my rejection email (he heard me practicing for another audition and said “good luck I’m sure you’re gonna get into orchestra! 💀”)
- had to have a teary-eyed audition for another ensemble (yes I sobbed)
- for another audition, the printer wasn’t working so I had to come in with a laptop balanced precariously in my arm
- did not get into any other ensembles except one
- have not had eight hours of sleep continuously
As you can see, I’m living it!!! At the very least I did not go to the ER like last year 🥰
BRUHH Lucy pretending to be happier so she doesn’t worry her sick mother?!?!?! I understand where she’s coming from but it reminds me of covering up trauma to feel normal again, even when it literally kills you :(

Also, I do have to say, I don’t think the novel mentions this (correct me if I’m wrong), but I definitely do feel that Jonathan definitely got bitten by Drac or someone. Like, the brain fevers, the hair turning white later in the novel, idk. OR he could just be mentally going through it which is real tbh
The contrast in Mina and Lucy’s diary entries are so sad! :( It also will not at all help Mina’s mental health and self-guilt to know that when she was celebrating one of the happiest days of her life, Lucy was slowly drifting away .
I also think it’s interesting to contrast the situations of Lucy and Jonathan. Both suffering from terrible visions, both visited by their partners, both silently suffering. Nothing much to say right now from me, but parallels are always neat!!
