No It Is Very Simple.

No it is very simple.

You cannot get food and shelter unless you do not have drug or alcohol problems.

This logic days, that there is NO link between having huge stresses and problems in your life, and drug abuse... which is true only if you live in opposite land.

Oh by the way. In Denmark, you are banned from any and all mental healthcare if you have a drug or alkohol problem.

So by that logic, untreated mental health issues have NO influence over your likelihood to abuse drugs...

Meaning, if you use drugs or drink a decent amount? NEVER tell a health professional about it. Ever. It can severly restrict your access to healthcare.

And the fact that you should not tell your Healthcare provider about your drug misuse... is horrible... Because it means you cannot get help with your drug issues, unless you can afford private healthcare.

In other words, only the rich, are allowed mental healthcare if they have drug issues...

Yay...

And people keep telling me Denmark is not corrupt...

What is "Agile" anyway?

So...

I feel like my posts are best when I write about things on my mind. And because of my job, "dark agile" and "dark scrum" have been a lot on my mind. "Dark" basically is used to mean "Subversive" or "Pretending to do X, but in fact doing to opposite.

Dark design for example, refers to design that is worse for the users ( Making it harder to say no to cookies than yes for example).

But to talk about dark agile, I have to explain what agile actually is. I also want to do this because agile is super simple. But if you ever want to see a LOT of successful scamming, check out business management consulting. A LOT of people have a vested interest in making it sound a lot more complicated than it is and/or ignore what it actually is in favor of telling companies what they want to hear.

Agile is short for "Agile software development"

First, understanding the problem agile solves:

Small companies can change what they are doing, and how they are doing it really quickly. They are also very good at listening to their developers and put their good ideas into practice.

As companies grow larger, they quickly lose these abilities.

Agile, is a way to keep those abilities in a larger company. This is done by giving each development team freedom to develop however they want ( not WHATever they want ), and to give them as direct a line as possible to whoever is the decision maker for the thing they are developing, which allows them to change what they are developing very quickly, but in a way that still leaves that decision maker happy.

Or in other words, encourage worker empowerment and grassroot organization ( Can you guess why companies REALLY try hard to not actually do agile? :p )

That's it. That is agile... as in, all of it.

You can read the agile manifesto and the agile principles, which flushes out what exact values agile is trying to achieve, but you basically already have all the info

agilemanifesto.org
We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. These are our values and principles.

If you are thinking "But what about Scrum?", scrum is a proposed tool to achieve agile. It is not agile, nor is it part of agile. Agile is a goal. Scrum is a tool that may help a company reach that goal.

So I got an email at work telling me to change my password... because I must do that every 2 months...

That is... known security theater ( The security word for "scam" ) this in combination with admin by request (As in, I must give a written explanation for why I want to use my PC) and us having NO clue how our own protocols work means I am now 100% certain that whoever does our security have no idea what they are doing... and that we have no system in place that can do ANY sanity check if the security people know what they are doing...

In other news, I soon have a meeting with my boss where he wants to know how it is going. That is going to be FUN! I am putting a PRESENTATION together!

I consider my job to be "Create value for the company". And that involves telling the company when they are being idiotic.

Maybe the conpany already knows? No. They need to start getting NIS2 certified in August... and they think that they are ready for that, and it will be a easy thing to do...

I... have done that.

I am duper glad I am not the only one who came up with that! Help people! The rich do not use much public transport! Help your brothers, sisters and family riding with you! Help your community!

i think it's pretty awesome how all public transport is free actually, it's like really nice of them how you can just not pay if you don't feel like it or can't afford it

"I want to make games, but that requires programming skills and"

No. Just like starting to draw requires no skills, nor does making software of any kind.

Will you make great art on your first try? No. But you DID a thing.

Use the hellmachines that is machine learning for something useful. Go to chat GPT and ask it to make a simple game in html, cs and javascript.

Copy paste that into a notepad file, save it as "mygame.html" and open it with a browser. Any browser.

Bam. You have a game.

It is the equivalent of a stick figure drawing with no perspective, but it exists! Its creation is equivalent to tracing a drawing BUT IT EXISTS!

Now do it again, with less help. Figure out what different parts does by turning them on and off.

When you have questions, google them. If you have questions you do not know how to google, find communities and ask them.

You can do it! You can make things! Please make things! I want to see all the crazy stuff you will make!

“I want to write/draw/play music but I don’t know how”

Listen to me. Every creative endeavor is a leap of faith. It is flinging your soul off a ledge into fog and hoping you’ll land. There is no plan for that story you’re going to write. There are no directions for that space ship you want to draw. There is no sheet music for the song you haven’t yet written.

Making art is about accepting that you are plunging forward into the unknown, and using that to discover both yourself and your destination.

You don’t know how to write a story? Just do it! Go for it! There are no rules, friend!

You gotta make that leap.
