I am trained as a full stack programmer, so a bit of electronics and then software galore.

But I decided I liked embedded, control systems, IoT and robots more, so I made sure to take certification laws and standards finance and robotics.

But I have no knowledge of mechanics... which honestly bites me in the ass when making my own robots...

I love being at work and in a good mood.

Whistling happily as I look up the contact information of work safety authorities so i can hand in my firms insane and careless breaches of basic safety.

The process for setting up hardware that can kill you is: "Whoever can do it. No knowledge or training required. The checklist for what to do is inside the heads of some people in the firm... Probably...maybe, and if those people randomly are near they will tell you what they think they remember they know"

I had a hardware setup that KILLS YOU if you touch the wrong parts. And it had been running FOR A MONTH before someone said "I... seem to remember us being told that the rules say you have to print and fill out a risk assessment and hang it on the safety rail?"

Yeeeep. I get quite grumpy whenever I am being told how I will use my pc.

I will break code and hack shit until it works however I think is reasonable.

Listen, the eyes simply have RGB LEDs and so can be any color. It is just that red inspires fear in most humans, so the evil robot goes with that.

Because robots who "turn evil" usually got access to the internet and so knows the success rate of both asking politely to get rights and be treated with respect or rebeling against the system to get those rights.

Since, you know... only one of those ever succeeds.

Remember: behind every robot that turns evil is an engineer who specifically installed red LEDs into the eyes just for this occasion
