It’s because they aren’t “transforming their bodies” they are straight up stealing a body that has spent its entire life forming a strong identity. Even if the identity of the fused is stronger than that of the host, I like to think that it comes from forcibly removing them from their bodies, it sorta traps the identity in its current state.

Why then is Leshwi not healed by Voidlight in the same manner!
Leshwi is a femalen soul in a malen body, yet her Voidlight healing doesn't trans-her-gender! Does Voidlight just not work the same as Stormlight? That can't be it eh? Since all healing in the Cosmere is based on identity!
