The Speech
Chris x reader (plus surprise Marvel dad!)
Rating: T

You knew it was cliché but, today had been perfect.
With a content sigh escaping your lips, you took a sip of the champagne that was placed before you. The simple action caused your engagement ring to move under the light, catching your attention as you then focused on the new band that was just added hours ago. The smile on your face grew as you slowly retracted your hand, placing it atop your white dress as you began to fiddle with the ring, pulling it off to read the inscription once more. Before you could turn it over and see the engraved letters, Chris’ hand stopped you, leaning close to whisper the words softly in your ear.
“You’re in my arms,” He paused, taking a moment to take off his own ring and place it in your hand, showing you the inscription that accompanied yours.
“And all the world is calm.”
As his hot breath hit against your skin, you blushed, quickly putting your ring back where it belonged before moving onto his lap. His arms immediately wound themselves around your waist, pulling you flush against him as he continued to whisper in your ear.
“I love you so much Mrs. Evans.” With that, he kissed your shoulder softly, breaking the embrace briefly to put his own ring back. You smiled, savoring the moment as you turned to kiss him softly.
Well, you savored it until the squeal of the microphone filled the air, forcing you and the most of the guests to cringe at the noise.
“Excuse me. If I could just get a moment of your time…”
With a shake of your head, you chuckled, letting your father take the reigns to finally reveal the speech he’s been bragging about for months. With the insistence that it would be the best, he demanded to be the first to speak, earning the full attention of everyone to say what you hoped wouldn’t be too embarrassing.
“Hi. My name is Paul Rudd, (y/n)’s amazing father. I just want to start off by saying (y/n) and Chris…you’re welcome. Without me, you two wouldn’t be married.” He paused, patting himself on the back while the rest of the guests laughed.
“We all know Evans over here is the self-righteous Captain America. About three years ago, I was asked to be in Captain America’s third film, Civil War. Naturally, I had to accept due to my Marvel contract but on a personal aspect, I was ecstatic. I mean, this guy is Captain America! You think that fanboy moment in the film was scripted? Hell no! That was all me.”
Chris laughed at the memory, squeezing you tighter in the process. You couldn’t help but chuckle as well, rolling your eyes at your dad as he took a moment to let the laughs from the crowd pass before starting once more.
“Anyways, back to the point. (Y/n), my marvel obsessed daughter, begged to come with me on set. Of course, I agreed.” There it was, the start of ‘embarrassing (y/n) Rudd…now (y/n) Evans.’ On the projector behind him, Paul pulled up a picture of you, dressed head to toe with everything Marvel themed. From the Captain America t-shirt to the Iron Man themed shoes, it seemed only to add to the excited grin on your face as you stood beside the Avengers poster at the theaters. With a groan, you looked down, a deep blush spreading across your cheeks.
Yes, you still wore all of those things but did they really need to make an appearance at your wedding?
“Sorry (y/n). You know I had to. Besides, can’t everyone see how happy she was here? She was just going to see the movie then. Imagine how excited she was when she was actually on set?” He paused, laughing to himself before shaking his head, trying to get to the point of his whole speech.
“One day, I had insisted that (y/n) try on the Ant-Man suit. It was great. It was way too big on her but she still couldn’t help but be excited, pretending to act like my character, Scott Lang. Being like any generic dad, I had to get a picture. As I ran off to get my phone, Chris came over. The big idiot thought (y/n) was me. Granted, the helmet was on but come on man! She looks nothing like me!”
Once more, he pointed towards the screen, showing the picture he took later on. With the suit still on, you posed for the camera, trying to act heroic, as you had seen many of your superhero idols do.
“Dad!” You blushed as you realized that you yelled aloud. You moved one hand, covering your mouth in shock as you saw everyone turn to look at you.
Paul, trying to help, raised his hands in defense and brought the attention back to himself once more. “I’m sorry (y/n). That’s the last picture. I promise. Besides, I don’t want any distractions for the rest of the story. Let me tell you everyone, this is where it gets good.”
Crisis diverted. As you begged your heart to calm its erratic pace, Chris helped, rubbing your arms lightly as he began to leave kisses along your neck. As you melted into his embrace once more, you sighed, whispering your gratitude to your husband before turning back to your still talking father.
“-was going on and on about the scene we just filmed. Then, as he started talking about the next scene, relaying the information of what was to be done, (y/n) just played along. Meanwhile, I was watching from afar, trying the best I could to not laugh as my daughter succeeded in tricking the gullible Chris Evans. Finally, she lifted the mask, a smirk on her face as she finally spoke to the man. A man, might I add, who she had a big crush on since his first film as the star spangled super soldier. I’ll never forget what she said. I mean, how could I? Without waiting, she placed a hand on her hip, looking him straight in the eye, and said…” He paused, copying what you had done before finally lifting the microphone and saying your retort word for word.
“Man, for being Captain America you’re not very perceptive, are you? But it wasn’t the words that killed it guys. It was Evans’ face. His eyes widened, his mouth dropped open, and I’ll admit it for you Chris, he blushed the deepest shade of red I’ve ever seen! He began to stutter, apologizing to (y/n) until he finally began to laugh. Classic Chris laugh too. His hand went for his left boob as it finally sank in that he, the infamous prankster, was tricked. As an apology, he asked her out for dinner, had to go through her protective father, and here we are! So (y/n), Chris…you’re welcome.”
He laughed alongside the crowd as he moved to the bag that you didn’t notice was beside him. With the bag now tightly in his hand, he beckoned for you to come over, forcing you away from Chris. With a proud smile, he brought the microphone to his lips once more, his voice growing soft as you could see the unshed tears building in his eyes.
“(Y/n), I give you a hard time but I couldn’t be more proud of you. You went from my little girl to a grown lady with a goal to change the world. And I know you will. You’re smart, kind, and anyone would be lucky to know you. All I want is for you to be happy and I know you found that with Chris. He’s a great guy and I know he’ll take of you.” With a kiss to your cheek, he finally pulled away, making a dramatic bow to the crowd to hide the emotions you knew he was trying to suppress.
Before he could leave though, you pulled him into a tight hug. You tried to hide your own tears but the crack in your voice was proof enough as you spoke to your father.
“Thank you dad. I love you.”
A small choking noise escaped his lips as he quickly reciprocated your hug, pulling you in tight as he whispered the last phrase back to you. Finally, he pulled away, pushing you towards your husband before he no doubt went to another room to calm down. Well, not before slipping the bag into your hand though.
You quickly went back to Chris’ open arms. With no hesitation, you tried to the best of your ability to straddle his lap. Your hands going to his cheeks, you pulled him close for a kiss as his own hands started to soothingly rub your back. Finally pulling apart, he smiled, wiping the tears that had finally landed on your cheeks as he spoke softly.
“You know he’s right. Without him, we wouldn’t have met.”
He leaned down, reaching for the bag and placing it on your lap. With shaking hands, you reached in, pulling out the Ant-man helmet that started it all. With the new reminder of how you met Chris, you let out a choked laugh as you nodded, running your hand over the mask before meeting Chris’ eyes. Unable to find the words that you wanted to say, you simply nodded again before pressing your lips to his once more.
Thank you Dad.

Warning: This was edited late last night so I’m so sorry if there are any mistakes!
Author’s Note: Another request done! This was submitted by a lovely anon by the name of Samantha who wanted the reader to be a big woman. There wasn’t a specific plot included in the request so hopefully this is okay! :)
There is nothing wrong with being big! I wanted to show this in the story by making it less focused on the reader’s weight and what others think about it. I also didn’t want to make her size the key aspect to the story. Your weight doesn’t define you. YOU DO! So for this story, it is pure FLUFF!
I really hope you like it Samantha and thank you so much for submitting!

“Samantha, they need you back on the set.”
You ignored the grunts of protest that came around you as you looked up, focusing on whoever was giving you the new instructions. The brushes that once skillfully ran across your skin jerked with the sudden movements, smearing the work that was just done and creating a black line across your right cheek. The bobby pins that were about to be placed to hold up your messy bun were hastily dropped, the spots in which they were needed now disturbed from the fan that you faced. With a groan, a hand quickly jerked your head back to how it was before, forcing you to face the three around you as they gave one last groan of disapproval before starting over.
Oh, the joys of being a plus sized model…
You wanted to laugh. To tip your head back, close your eyes, and let the amusement consume you but as the first giggle began to leave your lips, you froze as your eyes caught sight of your manager, Diane, with a hard glare set on her face. She knew what you were doing and quickly put an end to it. After all the screw ups you’ve done today, she had a reason to fear for any more mistakes that could end in your termination of the job. With a frown, you struggled to keep yourself from laughing, grinding your teeth together to even avoid tugging on your lips that were now covered in a soft pink color.
It wasn’t your fault that you were nervous. After not hearing from your boyfriend for days now, you had tried to submerse yourself in your work, hiding the worry behind extra jobs that you begged Diane to find. But the plan backfired. Every photo shoot, a task that used to be so exciting, now seemed to drag on, as your phone remained silent. No calls, no texts, no emails except the random spam ones that no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t get rid of. With the reminder of your lifeless phone, you sighed, letting the breath exhale through a thin slip from your lips to avoid any other signs of disapproval from the ones around you.
But, as if the photographer felt the same need to finish this day as quickly as possible, he tossed a quick wave at the stylists around you. They dispersed, leaving you to stand and make your way to pose against the light blue backdrop with your new style.
This time, they had chosen a more natural look. The vibrant colors that once covered your eyes minutes ago was now replaced with softer tones, highlighting the innocent look the white dress you now wore expressed. With this play on innocence, you laughed as the thought of Steve once more crossed your mind.
Despite his reputation, he had made sure you were anything but innocent.
A slight blush spreading across your cheeks, you began to fidget in your heels, smoothing the dress once more before doing as instructed. As you prepared to prep yourself for the monotone look you would soon need to hold, your eyes quickly darted across the set, searching for one more sign of approval from Diane before locking yourself into ‘model mode;’ something you had made up when you started all those years ago.
Yet as your eyes scanned the crowed for the familiar redhead, you froze as a splash of patriotic red, white, and blue came into view. Without a second thought, you broke out of character, taking a step closer as you tried to get a better look. As you watched the few workers that once blocked your path disperse, the once stoic look you had been trying to achieve quickly faded away.
“What the hell…”
Your eyes widened as the trail of clothes following the men and women finally disappeared, fully revealing Captain America’s iconic shield and more importantly, the man who wielded it.
Steve look exhausted to put it simply. With his uniform still clinging to his body and dirt still coating his face, you watched as he pushed aside the fatigue to shoot you a shy smile. His hair messed up from no doubt pulling the helmet off his head; he quickly ran a hand through it as he pushed himself off the wall. His heavy boots matching each step you took, you finally met in the middle, ignoring the calls of protest filling the room as you finally embraced for the first time in weeks. His hands pulled you flush against his chest as your own wound around his neck, hiding your face against his skin as you took in the scene of his signature cologne, sweat, and…was that smoke? With just another reminder of the struggle he must have experienced during his time away, the importance of your makeup was forgotten as you pressed closer against his skin, without a doubt ruining the look the team had worked hard to create.
But you didn’t care. He was back.
Not wanting to push his boundaries of public affection, you made no move to kiss him, instead content in the tight embrace you found yourself in. One of your hands moved lower, lying against his chest as you found comfort in the rhythmic beat of his heart. This was a simple pleasure but something you had been previously worried about. With the last few days full of fear of never getting this luxury again, you savored the action, closing your eyes as you tried to match your breaths with his.
He was alive. He was safe.
Not willing to let him go, you spoke against his neck, hoping he’d understand you before you did the unthinkable and escaped his embrace.
“You ass. You told me you’d be home two days ago. Do you know how worried I was?”
He sighed, forgetting your slip in language as his head lowered. His forehead resting against your shaking shoulder, his hands began to move across your back. His soft touches sent a shiver to run down your spine, soothing the tears that had been building up the moment he made an appearance. With a deep breath, he finally spoke, revealing the exhaustion that racked his body from who knows what he had to go through.
“I’m sorry. New intel was found and the team was required to stay back and ensure that this wasn’t another threat.”
“Doesn’t explain why you didn’t let me know.”
“Buck and I needed to separate from the rest. By the time we secured ourselves in a position outside the enemy’s base, I realized I didn’t have means of communication other than the direct link to the team.”
You sighed but nodded at his answer, knowing that if he had the chance, he would have told you. Oh…the perk of dating a superhero. Without thinking, you kissed his shoulder softly, letting the stress from the past few days fade away as you finally held the answers you had been searching for. As you were about to speak once more though, a cough was heard beside you, forcing you to break apart to see the annoyed, yet slightly amused, complexion of your manager.
“As much as I know you’ve been missing your man, we really need to finish this before you’re fired.” With a frown, you finally broke apart and smoothed out your dress once more, nodding as you looked up to face Steve. With a small smile on his face, he jerked his head towards the team that was now waiting for you once more, the annoyed expressions you had seen them with earlier returning as they caught sight of the damage you had caused.
“Go.”
“Are you staying?”
He laughed, as if the simple thought of him leaving to get some much needed rest was so absurd. With a shake of his head, he took a step closer, taking your hand quickly to kiss your palm.
“I’m not going anywhere doll.”

Meeting Captain America
Chris Evans x Reader

Warning: Edited at three in the morning (lol)
Requested by an amazing anon!
Author’s Note: I love Disneyland! After seeing this request, I was so excited yet...really scared. There are so many wonderful Disneyland stories that I wanted to do something original. Then...this happened. I tried to be funny but I think it backfired. :( Hopefully it’s not as bad as I think it is...

You weren’t embarrassed to admit that you had an obsession with Disney.
From the movies to the memorabilia, you couldn’t resist collecting them all, making your house look like a Disney museum. Once you moved in with Chris, they came with you, fitting in with his own set of collectibles that littered the house, all mixing into a room that you both had declared ‘The Disney Lair.’ Yet despite how many items were crammed within the four walls, it always grew, slowing leaking into the other rooms until it became a game within the Evans household to find the hidden Mickeys in each room.
If that wasn’t enough, it didn’t help that Disneyland was only a short drive away. As an annual passholder, you were proud to proclaim that you often visited the park especially when your boyfriend was away. You looked to the parks for comfort, letting the magic of the place heal the pain that came with a long-distance relationship. Yet despite the frequent visits you made to the Happiest Place on Earth, the news of going once more with the Evans clan was easily accepted.
To say you were excited to be at Disneyland once more would be an understatement.
Going alone was fun but getting the chance to go with the man you loved and his family was different. With them, they understood the craziness that came with a love for Disney and they openly embraced it along with you. A trip was planned months in advance, disneybound costumes were made, and the Disney puns began to increase as soon as the idea was first suggested.
Now, a few months later, here you were with them all, looking up at the iconic Sleeping Beauty castle.
With one hand tightly gripping Chris’, you quickly adjusted your Belle ears, looking down at the matching Belle disneybound outfit before turning directions for Tomorrowland. Miles leading the way, he pulled Lisa along towards the character that soon had Chris dying in laughter.
Captain America.
The face character stood proud in his Avengers costume as he struck a new pose with his latest guest, the shield placed in her hand as the little girl tried to copy the actions she had seen so often in the movies. As the shield proved to be too big for her, ‘Captain America’ easily swooped her into his arms before smiling once more towards the camera.
As you all headed to the back of the line, you let Chris have his moment as he leaned against the wall, holding his left boob. His eyes continually shifting between the excited Miles and the man who was portraying the character he often played, he kneeled down towards the boy, holding his shoulders as he spoke between his laughs.
“Bud, why do you want to meet him when the real one is right here?”
With a pause, he finally calmed down, shooting his nephew a wink before striking the same pose ‘Captain America’ had just done. His grin widened as he heard Miles giggle, the small boy simply shrugging at the question before going back to slowly watch the line diminish.
As Chris stood back up, you quickly latched onto his arm, leaning back as you spoke loud enough for the entire family to hear you tease the man.
“I don’t know babe. Maybe this is a good thing. He could teach you a thing or two.” You copied Miles’ shrug before stepping away only to be quickly pulled back into the strong embrace of your boyfriend. A gasp escaped his lips as he lay his chin on your shoulder, giving you a glimpse of his exaggerated pout from the corner of your eyes. Soft whines left his lips as his hands tightened their grip on your hips, his voice pretending to crack as he finally replied.
“How could you?”
With that, you couldn’t control yourself. You laughed, giving into the motion as your head tipped back to rest against his shoulder. Your Mickey ears falling to the ground, you then turned in his embrace, wrapping your arms around his neck as you focused on his playful blue eyes. As you paused to catch your breath, you focused on his hands rubbing your back, taking a moment to calm down before leaning in close to whisper in his ear.
“You ass. Stop making me seem like an idiot in front of your family.”
“Too late for that.”
You gasped, moving to slap his arm but he quickly caught on to your actions, stopping your hand only to bring it to his lips and kiss the back. With a smile, he shrugged before pointing to himself.
“I never said that it was a bad thing. They think you match my personality perfectly. Two idiots falling in love…what could go wrong?” Instantly, your expression softened as you looked at the genuine expression on his face. With a small nod, you quickly kissed him before teasing him one last time.
“Great way to woo the girls Evans. Call them an idiot.”
“It got you, didn’t it?”
You dramatically sighed, nodding while trying to pull away only for Chris’ grip to tighten.
“Sadly, it did.”
“You love me.”
“I do.”
“Alright love birds, stop ignoring us and get over here! We’re almost to the front.”
With Scott’s yell, Chris chuckled; his lips quickly kissing your cheek before you both moved to step forward. The line had gone by quickly, leading all of you to be one family away from meeting the star spangled superhero.
Miles stood at the front of pack, quickly running over to Captain America as soon as the cast members gestured them forward. As he stood before the costumed hero, you couldn’t help but applaud how well the actor portrayed your boyfriend. With gusto, he tried to get your boyfriend’s nephew to enjoy his short time with him.
If only it didn’t backfire.
With each word that left the man’s lips, Miles’ frown deepened, his head quickly looking between the confused man and his uncle. With a gesture to make the actor kneel before him, he whispered in ‘Captain America’s’ ear. Despite his attempts to stay quiet, everyone around them heard, sending them all into a fit of laughter.
“Mommy says it’s not nice to be mean but…you’re not really Captain America. My uncle is.”
Finally, the man broke character; glancing at the family before he froze once he saw the actual representation of his character. A light pink dusted his cheeks as he stumbled back while trying to find something to say to this odd situation. His eyes looking to the cast members, they appeared to be as flustered as him as they openly stared at the actor that stood beside them.
With one more laugh, you pushed Chris forward, letting him handle the situation as he quickly picked up Miles.
“This, I need a picture of. Captain America meets Captain America? Classic. Come on guys, help me out here.” Instantly, every member of the family pulled out their phones as they took pictures of now posing trio. They all suppressed their laughs, hoping to not make any more of a scene.
After snapping a few yourself, you quickly escaped, avoiding the formalities while going to find an ice cream stand to reward your charming boyfriend. With your wallet ready, you began to stand in yet another line. With Chris’ Twitter pulled up, you started the tweet you knew he would want to no doubt post as you slowly crept closer to the cart.
Soon, you ordered enough ice cream to feed the army. Your wallet pulled out to pay, you sighed as a hand quickly beat you to it though. As you gathered the treats, you quickly tossed the phone to Chris, letting him finish the message as you walked away from him once more. Only this time, he caught you.
His hands placing the food on the ledge beside you, he dragged you into the corner of the building before pulling you in for the kiss that was long overdue. His hands holding your cheeks, he pulled you in close, a soft moan escaping his lips before he finally pulled away. His breath labored, he flicked you on the head, giving you another pout as he moved to hold your hand tightly.
“Stop running away from me.”
“I didn’t want to ruin the moment you were having with the staff. I swear…I thought they were going to pass out.” He smirked, kissing your forehead softly.
“I’m all yours now.”
You smiled, pulling back to kiss his lips quickly before gesturing to the already melting ice cream bars.
“As much as I love to hear that, we only have…” You paused, looking at your watch as your eyes widened. “…thirty minutes until Mickey and the Magical Map begins.”
He smiled, motioning towards their linked hands before giving a grand sweep of the area.
“Lead the way.”

Watching Chris Evans in Captain America like…
