Personally I completely agree, but Id add the fact that this is completely platonic and comes from the fact that they were childhood friends. Despite all the shit they've been through and how much they've grown, they still look at each other and see the other as a little kid.

Little Bakugo needs to be protected, not because Deku thinks he can't take care of himself, but because deku thinks bakugo deserves to have someone care for him so much that they'd kill for him. While Deku doesn't normally care for people that way, he understands that it's how Bakugo needs to be cared for because no one had cared like that before.

Little Deku needs to be protected as well, but he is much more gentle then Bakugo, he doesn't need to be protected by violence but from it. To kill for Deku would just hurt him more, but to die for him? Bakugo will be the shield between Deku and whatever tries to harm him even if it kills him. Especially if it kills him, cause if it killed bakugo, there's no way that Deku could have survived.

I think Bakugou would kill for a lot of people but the only person he would die for without hesitation is Izuku and I think Izuku would die for a lot of people but the only person he would kill for without hesitation is Kacchan
