Faellyn looked out into the cold starlit night before her, and despite the beauty of the evening, she could not bring herself to be present in this moment. She replayed the moments that had come to pass, in her mind, looking for the loose link she'd missed. Ahren had always been paranoid - to say his frail sanity had wavered more than once throughout their street-clad childhood would be an understatement. But his heart was pure and good, selfsame as it was weak-willed, swayed by cheap pleasures and sweet lies. His desperation for power and fear of being betrayed had warped him, and she - a wayward fool - failed to see it, until her enemies had her cousin's mind wrapped around their finger. Until Ahren's dagger was at her back, held by the same hands that had once sworn to protect her.

look. this is a fantasy story. the horses are as intelligent as i need them to be.

So we know Astarion likes poetry, right?

We also know he loves to be dramatic.

So I headcanon this: in an established relationship he leaves notes with dramatic citations of poems and other writing he likes, something like this for example:

"i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear; and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you"

He probably also has very neat and beautiful handwriting so it might sound like he's gone on a dramatic heroic journey when all he means is like "gone shopping, babe, c u later <3".

And Tav gets so worried the first time it happens because they actually believe he's up to something or might not come back.

And upon Astarion's return he doesn't get why Tav is crying and hugging him. And afterwards he has to write a little translation on the other side so Tav won't scale the walls finding one of those notes.

Master Caricus rushed to get behind me, his arms held out in case I fell, which I shamefully did. Though he shook with an anger I did not understand he was trying to represss it as he replied, "Never do that again, not until you're healed."
