For The Q&A Tag Game, You Mentioned There Are Minerals/natural Substances Available In The Environment
For the Q&A tag game, you mentioned there are minerals/natural substances available in the environment that characters use to dye their hair. Any other cool bits of lore about alien planet/moon geology and biology you want to share? Does the story mainly stay in that one location, or do the characters visit multiple different planets with different worldbuilding lore for each location?
Thanks for the ask, @diabolical-blue!
And yes!!! On Cethea III there's a naturally occurring mineral that's pretty much everywhere and thus is a free/cheap way for the inhabitants of the moon to dye their hair if they so wish to - that mineral, known as Azurellite, can be easily ground up with water and makes for a pretty potent and long-lasting hair dye. Depending on the hue of the rock the hair can turn a specific shade, ranging from pastel blue to deep purple or indigo blue. While the 3 main protagonists were growing up as street urchins on that moon, Cassie Tithus often dyed her hair bright blue using that specific mineral - which, since it was basically everywhere, was a free dye they didn't have to spend their precious units to buy or prepare (they wouldn't have been able to afford it if it was otherwise).
Onto the other parts of this question!
Cool facts about the geology of the main planets within this series!
The planet of Ivion, which the moon Cethea III orbits, is a large ice giant planet, where there are little changes in weather during its seasons, being basically a massive tundra. The planet was originally inhabited by the Zatrian people, who built their sprawling cities out of pitch-black stone within the underground of the planet, underneath the unforgiving layers of ice and snow. The Junction has long since established a colony on the planet, and has subjugated/colonized many of the Zatrian settlements, and those who do not submit to Junction rule are unfortunately made targets of raiders and slavers alike. This complicated relationship between the settlers and the original inhabitants of the planet is the reason why Deimos Soll, the main duo's adoptive brother, ended up kidnapped from his home by slavers sent by the Junction in the first place.
In the Khosmonian Galaxies, the planet of Thalassen is a gargantuan planet that hosts some of the largest and deepest oceans in any of the known galaxies. It is known for equally gigantic creatures that lurk in its endless depths, literal behemoths that defy logic and strike fear into the hearts of outsiders and even some locals alike. The people of Thalassen are known for being some of the most technological advanced people in either of the galaxy clusters, with their cities being built both within floating mountains above the sprawling oceans and in underwater caves. Lyorna Alyrii, Jack Tithus' eventual love interest, is the daughter of an ancient and important family from Thalassen. The giant planet also has beautiful, equally gigantic, rings that surround its orbit, like a much larger, inhabitable version of our Saturn.
Stryxus, a dwarf planet on the edge of an asteroid ring that lies on the outer rim of the main Khosmonian Galaxy, is covered in lush, sprawling tropical fungal forests, where largely harmless gigantic fungi and mushrooms take the place of regular trees and reach the heights of skyscrapers. The planet is known for being home to some of the most powerful and ruthless crime families in the Khosmonian Galaxies and it is infamous for both its many underground racing rings and its renowned Fighting Pit, where outsiders and those whom the crime families do not approve of often are forced to fight to the death. Stryxus is surrounded by many space stations, all owned by local warlords, crimelords and space pirates, like a gigantic, living satellite.
Close by to Stryxus there's a gas giant surrounded by many moons, one of which is a frozen desert plagued by sleet storms, swarms of ravenous, bloodthirsty creatures that attack in hordes, and where a strange, electromagnetic pulse causes many spaceships to crash and harm communications with the outside. It's a metaphorical "black hole", in the sense that while it is an inhabitable planet it is incredibly tough to get out of, for both humanoids and machinery alike, and thus remains unclaimed by both the Junction, the Khosmonians, and even the warlords. While fleeing from Stryxus and being pursued by a bunch of vengeful space pirates, Kye and Artemis crash on this hellhole of a moon in the space shuttle they'd used to escape and must begrudgingly find a way to get past their differences to survive and find a way to get out of this planet to reunite with the rest of their team, though they soon find they're not the only ones "shipwrecked" on this moon, and that this other person also trapped in here may make things even more perilous for them.
Thypsiell, the planet where Kye was born, has chalk-white trees with blood-red leaves, and large prairies with sprawling, windswept hills. The grass ranges from salmon pink to orange and even light blue in some spots. The Khylet people are a highly meritocratic society with a harsh system of castes - most tribes are also ruled by a matriarchal council. Kye's mother became such a bitter woman because she was shunned by her own mother, her mentor and the elder of the main Khylet council of chieftains, who considered Eldora too unstable and cruel to create a proper legacy - offended at the slight of being "denied her dues" by the mother she adored so much, Eldora set out to collect conquests and become the most dangerous Khylet warlord that ever lived, seeking to one day gain her mother's approval and a seat a the Hearth (their council), unaware that she was only proving her mother right and disrespecting their people's ancient traditions by indulging her warmongering ways.
And onto the final art of this question!
Supernova Initiative does not take place in one singular location and instead takes place in multiple locations as the characters travel the galaxies during their multiple quests in the story - starting at the moon of Cethea III (in Jack, Deimos, and Cassie's backstory), then proceeding to many locations within the Junction systems, secret laboratories where inhuman experiments take place, wartorn planetary systems and various planets in the Khosmonian galaxies as the characters travel to complete the most dangerous heist of their lives and get their freedoms back, and their adventure suddenly takes many, unexpected, turns throughout the book!

New Tag Game! OC's 'Most Important' Tag!
Rules: Make a list (detailed or not!) of the most important people, events/moments, places, and anything else that shaped your characters into who they are now, describing how/why.
DISCLAIMER: The "most important" here means "most impactful" - the people, places, and events that had the biggest impact on the character's life. And that impact can be both POSITIVE or NEGATIVE!
I'll go first with the protagonist of Supernova Initiative!
Jack Tithus:
Most Important People
(Positive)
Cassiopeia Tithus (younger sister): Cassie is, by far, one of the, if not The most important person in Jack's life. Not that he consciously picks favorites, but he has devoted his entire life to keeping her safe and happy after their parents were killed by the Junction because she's the only family he has left and he promised he would protect her On another note, she is also the "heart" of the group - she's always happy, seeing the best in every situation no matter how bleak - and that optimism makes living in the bleak galaxy they live in more bearable for everyone around her.
Deimos Soll (adoptive brother): Deimos has been Jack's best friend and adoptive brother ever since the day they met when they were teens. Their bond, despite all their differences and arguments in the present, is still just as strong as it used to be in the past - as much as it is a bit awkward at times due to the time they've spent together. Deimos was the only friend his age (Jack is 25, Deimos is 26, they were 15 and 16 when they met) that Jack had for a long time, which on its own was something he was glad to have - but he legitimately became family to both Jack and Cassie. For all his stubborn faults, Deimos is fiercely loyal, and he cares a lot for the people he loves, a trait he shares with Jack as well.
Florian & Lauriel Tithus (parents): Though they were only alive for a small portion of his lifetime - mostly his childhood - they did have some considerably formative influence on his morality and good-hearted nature, as they taught him to always fight against injustice and stand up for those who need help, as well as reminded him that family is the most important thing in his life. He had a very close bond with their mother, Lauriel, who was a pilot and taught him how to fly a spaceship expertly, while Cassie bonded more with their father, who was an aspiring inventor.
(Negative)
Cethea III's mob bosses: Those guys were part of the reason why Jack's teenage years and overall life in Cethea III were so dangerous. Since Jack and his siblings were pretty much destitute after their life as they knew it came crashing down because of the Junction, they - and especially him - had to get resourceful. Jack became an errand boy and messenger for some of the low-ranking crime factions of the moon (most notably the faction known as the Onyx Strikers), in exchange for a pitiful amount of units, which - as little as it was - was still better than nothing. That's also how he got the skills he would later hone and use to become the renowned intergalactic thief, but that 'talent' came with a hefty toll.
The Director: The head of the Junctions Sciences and Bioengineering department and overall a very respected and influential politician, businessman, and public figure, the Director isn't just Jack's archnemesis throughout this story - he's also, directly, Jack's torturer, as - while the crew was begrudgingly working for the Junction- he subjected the young thief to many unethical scientific experiments. This is a source of considerable torment, distress, and overall inner conflict for Jack, as he not only has to find a way to free himself and his crew and fight against the Junction but also has to grapple with the fear that the experiments may be already changing him somehow.
Most Important Places (to his story)(:
The Junction
Cethea III
The Khosmonian Galaxies
Most Important Moments/Events:
The death of his parents, killed by the Junction after joining a local rebel effort against it;
Growing up on the crime-ridden streets of Cethea III with his siblings, and getting involved in the moon's criminal underworld;
Developing a considerable reputation and becoming an influential intergalactic thief in his early 20s;
The argument with Deimos, after which the duo (Jack & Cassie) and Deimos parted ways due to different opinions on the recently started civil war;
Being captured by the Junction along with his crew (Inciting Incident of the series!), which led him to accept a shady deal with the Director (make one final heist, this time for the Junction, not against it, in exchange for their lives);
Being forced to become one of the Director's test subjects after the man threatened to do the same to Cassie;
Freeing himself and his crew from the Junction and joining a rebel effort to stop the civil war from escalating and ending the corruption of both the Junction and the Khosmonian sides.
Anything Else That's Important:
His Crew/Friends: Jack is, first and foremost, a natural leader and a protector, who cares deeply for the people he trusts and loves. His team/crew, which is composed of his closest friends, is like a family to him - and though that friendship can at times be chaotic and strained, they're still always going to be there for each other no matter what. And that friendship is also a factor for character growth to pretty much every member of the main cast as well, including him.
Freedom: Jack values freedom in life almost more than anything - it's a close second in his list of priorities for sure - and has a very fiery personality. He despises being told what to do by people who want to control him or by those who think they're better than him or than others, and this causes him to have a very relentlessly rebellious spirit.

Thanks for the ask, @kaylinalexanderbooks!!! And that's a great question!
It does have multiple galaxies. Both the Junction and the Khosmonians rule over specific galaxy clusters, each cluster having around a few dozen galaxies, though the main storyline takes place within around 3-5 main ones give or take.
As for how intergalactic travel works, there are a few, main ways: some rare, cutting-edge starships are equipped with a special hyperdrive capability that can take them to other galaxies by exploiting wormholes but that's hella expensive. There are also official "portals" that connect the galaxies by a similar technology that those spaceships use, except those portals can help transport even common, non-intergalactic starships/spaceships through the wormholes with no danger and are a lot cheaper, so that's how the main bulk of intergalactic travel takes place, through those portals/terminals!
Currently, the Khosmonian Galaxies and the Junction Systems are at war with each other, as they have opposing political views and both want the territory the other has, as well as both have an age-old feud between each other, and countless lives have already been lost because of it, but the main cast has found a way to maybe, finally bring peace to both sides, though it will definitely be a struggle.

Q&A QUESTION!
Firstly: Love your cast from Supernova Initiative.
Secondly, and this is my classic thing that I ask everyone: What's up with the food in your WIP? What do people eat? How do they get food? How is it shaped by the cultures?
(I love food and geopolitics, so this is my life. I'm sorry. I hope this isn't too much XDDDD)
Hii!! Thank you so much for the ask, @amaiguri!!! And don't worry, this isn't too much at all!!! I adore these kinds of questions and I myself love creating intricate details for my WIPs' cultures, politics, and worlds (and I love rambling about those details lmao)!
Also, I'm super glad you liked the cast of this WIP! If you want to ask something about the team or about any particular character, you're also more than welcome (and encouraged) to!
So let's get to it!
What's up with the food in your WIP? What do people eat? How do they get food? How is it shaped by the cultures?
Man, this is such an AMAZING question! I love it!
There are so many different planets and cultures in this WIP and thus there are many different kinds of food/diets as well, many being specific to certain settings and to the biology of different alien species! Let's go over some of the three main ones!
In Cethea III, which is a downtrodden mining settlement that is also one of the most crime-ridden places in the galaxy, abundance is not something that is a part of the day-to-day lives of most of that moon's inhabitants. Most food there comes from cheap, greasy diners or shady restaurants scattered around the settlements, though miners often receive weekly packets of rations from the mining companies they work for (though those rations are awfully tasteless and are more of a "last resort" for many).
As for what are the most common dishes in Cethea III:
Dried fish stick sandwiches and hot chocolate made with milk powder (this is the favorite dish of the main trio of this story - Jack, Deimos, and Cassie - as it was an affordable and tasty meal that was also a very good source of energy).
Fried pocked cheese tarts (a common snack present in most of the many greasy diners in the settlements, these tarts often come in considerable portions, packaged in a simple cardboard box).
Prairie rodent roast (the dusty, desert-like prairies of this moon are crawling with packs of medium-sized, hare-looking rodents that are often hunted by the population as a free source of game meat for roasts and stews. Some people also dry the rodent meat to make it last for longer and to make "beef jerky" out of it)
Glow-Slug Pudding (by far the most... concerning and rather disgusting dish in this moon's culinary culture, is an expensive dessert enjoyed in some of the few more high-brow and "fancy" establishments of this moon. The appearance of this pudding depends on the color of the slugs used in its mix, often having a glowing, neon look to it in various shades of purple, pink, and deep blue. Some of these puddings are cooked and served cold, but some versions of it are raw and include living slugs- the latter being even more expensive and considered a delicacy. Most of the main cast of this book has never tasted this dessert and even now that they can afford it they consider it far too disgusting to be edible. And honestly, I think they're right lol)
In Ivion, which is a giant ice planet that Cethea III orbits, the cities sprawl underground, and are vast places built out of pitch-black stone. The original inhabitants of this planet, the Zatrian people, have a large carnivore diet - while they technically are omnivores, their diets require a much larger protein intake than that of other humanoid species. They are skilled hunters, and many Zatrians have evolved to have keener eyesight and hearing in order to be able to track their gigantic prey fast without risking prolonged exposure to the cold of the planet's surface, making them even deadlier at marksmanship.
The most common dishes in Ivion:
Intricate, meat-based dishes, with strong condiments and often a vibrant appearance. Those dishes vary from different kinds of stews, roasts, soups, and fillets, often being served extremely hot, and fresh from the oven. A single portion of those dishes is often so vast/abundant that it can feed at least a dozen people with ease.
Boiling Frostberry (a common drink that has a staple deep blue color with glittery swirls. It has a sweet yet tangy taste and as the name implies is typically to be drunk hot. This juice/beverage can both be served as a celebratory drink as well as a day-to-day beverage for all walks of life and is known for providing an astounding amount of warmth, as the berries have a capability to warm the body from within and are impossible to freeze)
Burrow-Wyrm Eggs (often harvested from Burrow-Wyrm nests during a specific season of the year - Burrow-Wyrms have hundreds of giant eggs per mating season, and the Zatrians often only poach around 5-10 eggs or so per year - these eggs are boiled then roasted over a fire with a strongly spicy pepper. Reserved for special occasions, those astoundingly large eggs (they're as big as two basketballs stacked onto each other), are a part of the traditional Zatrian diets and are only consumed in new-years festivals and coming-of-age ceremonies)
In Stryxus, the bustling dwarf planet known for its sprawling tropical fungal forests and also for being the home to some of the most dangerous crime families in the whole Khosmonian Galaxies has many different cultures that cohabitate within its sandy-colored cities, thus having many different culinary traditions spread evenly throughout the small planet.
The most common dishes on this dwarf planet:
A lot of the dishes on this planet are mushroom or fungi-based, as is to be expected of a dwarf planet that contains the largest fungal forests in the system. Mushrooms of all kinds are used in a variety of dishes, ranging from savory salads, roasts, barbecues, and even sandwiches, serving as the main source of protein for the population of this planet, both rich and poor. Sweet fungi are also a common ingredient for local desserts, especially cupcakes, puddings, and some varieties of ice cream.
This planet is also known for its sprawling cantinas and saloons, having some of the most varied alcoholic beverages, from common drinks like wine, beers, and specific brands of whiskey, to rarer, more exotic drinks that are only found and brewed on this planet, often using some rare fungi as a basis for the fermentation process, which grants theses neon colored, bubbling drinks an extremely rare taste and a varied range of appearances.
Swamp Fowls are abundant in Stryxus, and thus are a common ingredient for roasted sticks and nugget-like delicacies enjoyed by both young and old in the planet's pubs and restaurants.
I hope you enjoy the answer! Once more, thanks for the ask, and feel free to ask many more if you so wish to!
