Truth

At the beginning of my second semester at college I was raped by someone who I thought was my friend. I didn’t come with terms that it happened to me until weeks later. 

The first person I told was one of my good friends who I was sleeping with at the time. I kept refusing to give him head and he finally asked why. I told him what had happened to me. 

I didn’t realize that what happened to me would change me. I came home from College and I am afraid to leave the house. My mom wants me to get a job and I don’t know if I am able to since I am afraid to leave the house and it would be my first job. My mom keeps asking me why I am afraid to leave the house. I never told her what happened to me. 

How would you feel if you found out that your daughter was raped in college? 

How would you feel if her being raped has made her afraid to go outside by herself because she doesn’t know if someone is going to attack her?

I don’t have the heart to tell her what happened to me because I’m afraid of her reaction to me. I don’t want her to say, “oh you’re making up an excuse to not leave the house and look for a job.” But who would lie about being raped and use it as an excuse for being in the house all the time?

My mom is threatening to kick me out of the house if I don’t get a job within two weeks. I have yet to make an appointment with my therapist. She has to call me back.
