and hes so used to it that he never really wipes the grease off unless needed, like if he has a customer walk in or if a distant relative visits

but he prefers when u come over with a towel to clean him up yourself, even if u scold him for it <3

his nails are always dirty i said what i said

he tends to pick at the dirt under his nails a lot but it just never gets clean clean and hes used to it

but of course when u entered his life, it became a usual thing to just have him sit down while u clean his nails for him. properly.

A/N: still deep in that Shinichiro brainrot. Also, flustering/teasing him? Yes

Shinichiro had been trying to hold your hand for a while now, but there was always something keeping him from doing it.

The first time, you had suddenly lifted the very same hand he was trying to hold to point to some shop you wanted to check out. Then, you'd run into some acquaintances, classmates, probably, he didn't care. All he cared about was how they were stalling your attention. Finally, just as he was about to hold your hand... he felt too nervous, too scared of what you might say.

"Shinichiro? Are you okay?"

He could feel his heart melt at the sound of his name leaving your lips.

"No, yeah. Everything's fine," he said with a small smile.

"You know... You can just hold my hand if you want to, we're dating after all"

So you noticed.

You chuckled at his expression. He had made a fool of himself once again.

Even after giving him the okay, he still didn't do anything. You rolled your eyes and held his hand, pulling him closer to you and planting a kiss on his lips, leaving him flustered.

"See? No big deal," you said with a smile, "let's go grab something to eat now, I'm hungry"

He followed you, his hand still in yours, looking at you like you were the most beautiful star he had ever laid eyes on.

mitsuya’s head falls to your shoulder, making you chuckle as you run your fingers through his short strands, a soft kiss finding its way to his temple where you know the tattoo he hides lies under his hair. and he can feel you trace the edges of the inked mark on his skin perfectly—too perfectly.

mitsuya knows you know the curves of his tattoo better than anyone, he knows you’ve lied awake in the middle of the night to learn every loop and every slant of the design. and sometimes, on nights he craves your heart especially, he pretends it was always him, but he knows it wasn’t his tattoo that you traced.

it’s never him, he’s never been the one you’ve wanted, but he pretends. because pretending is the only thing he can do—he can pretend the soft kisses you press to his jaw are ones you leave with him on your mind, he can pretend the small hearts you trace into his bare chest are meant for the both of you, he can pretend that the softness of your gaze as you stare into his eyes are softened only for him, and he can pretend that the i love you’s you mumble in your sleep are for him in your dreams to hear.

but he knows better, deep down.

his tattoo reminds you of someone else’s, and he can try as hard as can to fill the gap in your heart, but mitsuya will never be draken, and his heart hurts, it aches so bad, sometimes he doesn’t know how he’ll last through the night.

he doesn’t know how to be enough, how to give you what you want, how to be the one you think of first thing you wake up and last thing before you go to bed. and sometimes, when the tears hit his pillow case, and he wipes them off his cheeks with the pad of his thumb, mitsuya pretends its your thumb grazing his skin, showing him the gentleness he craves from you.

“hey, takashi,” you murmur, yawning sleepily as you pull the blanket higher up your bodies. mitsuya hums, looking up at you hopefully.

perhaps tonight, you’ll finally see him for him.

“yeah, baby?” he whispers, staring up at you. your fingers runs over the head of the dragon on his temple, and a small part of his heart withers away.

“i think you should show off your tattoo again,” you say softly, looking out the window and staring at the moon. the soft light gleams over your skin, and mitsuya’s dreamt of seeing you in this light—so many times, a million times over—but no matter how close he is to grasping his dreams and making them his, they’re out of reach once more. “you’d look so handsome.”

he nods slowly, resting his cheek onto your chest as a wobbly smile pulls on his lips, his hand fisting your shirt as he feels you peck his forehead lightly.

he wishes he was worth your love, that the waves of devotion from the sear of your kiss speak his name—but they don’t. and he could never hate you, or his friend. he can only hate himself for never being enough.

“yeah?” he lets out a watery chuckle, though he knows you can’t tell there’s a silent stream of tears rolling down his cheek. “you think so?”

“yeah,” you whisper. “i love your tattoo, you know. it’s suits you.”

“me? it suits me?” he closes his eyes when you rub his back gently, and a part of him thinks it’s so cruel, so incredibly heartless that you offer him his dreams to him, that you play into his fantasies and give him the affection and the intimacy he craves, yet don’t ever mean it. but another part of him can’t run away, can’t even think to walk past this.

because even if he’s not yours, you’re his, and he’ll take that over nothing. it hurts even worse to have nothing.

“yeah,” you smile softly. “it suits you really well, ‘kashi.”

“oh, okay,” mitsuya nods. “i’ll…i’ll shave the sides for you then. i love you,” he breathes, sinking nto your embrace and trying to find home in your warmth. “i love you so much it hurts.”

“i love you too,” you whisper, pressing one more kiss where his tattoo lies.

and as he tries to find home in you, mitsuya finds it’s already been made home for someone else, and he’s simply an outsider looking in.

but you’re different, and more importantly, you’re his first real relationship—he’s already navigating through things with you as is, and this being thrown at him doesn’t help. you know draken cares, he cares through tiny grins as he sits through your rambles, he cares through a gentle tap to your nose when you’re messing around with him, he cares through small things you need throughout the day waiting for you to be found, and unbeknownst to you, he cares through looming in the shadows, watching and ensuring your safety. even when you don’t want that from him.

it’s quiet tonight, a little too quiet than what you’re used to, and the slight chilliness in the air only makes you trudge along faster, hoping to reach the comforts of your home soon. you’re just on the brink of reaching the end of the block when a rough hand grips your wrist tightly, harshly pulling you back.

“wha—”

“scream, and you get stabbed,” a gravelly voice snarls into your ear, and your body goes rigid. “come along nicely, and we shouldn’t have any issues—unless your boyfriend is a no show.” you can practically hear the way your captor’s lips are curled into a sinister smile, and your heart is erratic as you shudder with fear.

and almost instantly, the grip releases, and your shoved—though gently—out of the way as you hear thuds and grunting from behind you. you turn around, and the man is already unconscious on the floor, face bloodied and swollen while your boyfriend shakes his hand, staring at you in concern.

he’s by your side immediately, hand cupping your cheek as he inspects you over.

“y/n? are you okay? did he touch you—”

“i’m going home,” you huff, cutting him off as you quickly turn away to march off towards your apartment. draken instantly falls into step beside you, scowl on his face as he rolls his eyes.

“you almost just got kidnapped, do you really wanna keep fighting right now?”

“well, i’m fine now. thank you and goodnight,” you say firmly. the groan of frustration that leaves him satisfies you a little bit. suits him right, you think. and suddenly, draken is in front of you, hands on your shoulder as he stops you from walking any further.

“i’m serious,” he frowns. “what would you have done if i wasn’t there?”

“well, why were you there? you were following me,” you accuse sourly.

“i had to make sure you got home safe,” he mutters, eyes staring down at his feet. and he’s not sure what to say, how to approach last night’s argument, but he’s trying. in his own little unconventional way, he’s trying. “you uh…you look nice,” he adds.

“i’m wearing a school uniform,” you raise a brow. he shrugs before he notices the way you shiver, rolling his eyes and tugging his jacket off, handing it to you.

“you always look nice,” he says simply. “and you never bring a jacket either,” he sighs. despite still being angry, you gingerly take the jacket, its warmth and his scent cocooning you—and it feels safe, like it’s home, like it’s where you belong.

“ken,” you sigh.

“kenny,” he corrects, looking off to the side.

“you always tell me to stop calling you that,” you narrow your eyes. and this time, he meets your gaze, his expression earnest and sincere as he mumbles his next words.

“yeah, well…i say a lot of things i don’t always mean.” it’s not an apology, but it’s his way of admitting he isn’t always right like he claims—and you can’t help but find it endearing. sighing, you contemplate for a moment before ultimately giving in, reaching forward and cupping his cheek. draken leans into your palm instantly.

“you fighting off a dickhead for me doesn’t change yesterday,” you mutter.

“i know,” he murmurs, turning and pressing a soft kiss to your palm. with a tiny smile, you rub your thumb over his cheek, stepping forward until your chests collide, his arms instantly wrapping themselves around your waist. “i’ll try to be better,” he promises. and you know you can’t stay mad at draken, he’s woven himself into your lifestyle, and there’s nothing you can do to unthread yourself from him—and you don’t think you ever want to.

“i know, kenny,” you whisper, making him flash you a small grin. “come on, it’s cold out,” you tug him along towards your home, and he follows with no arguments. “but don’t think this is over though, we still have to talk about it,” you add sternly.

and even though he groans, his arm wraps tightly around you, bringing you snug against his side as he walks in synch with you, mentally preparing himself for a long talk he’ll begrudgingly partake in if it’s for you.
