Just saw the scene of Gomez getting accused of murder and Morticia proclaiming her love and ran with it. For a bit longer than I planned to.

Steddie au where Eddie's band hits it big and while he establishes that he is very private with his life but every now and then he slips some info about his long term partner. Like how wonderful and great but kinda dumb they are and then occasionally drop bombs like said partner owning a nail covered bat or beating up murderous shitheads in their Youth tm or how they were somehow involved in taking down a secret Russian base?? (Details very unclear) or how they protected a bunch of kids from...something? so most everyone who doesn't know him personally thinks Eddie's girlfriend (they assume tho he is very careful to never mention gender) is also in the metal scene and fucking hardcore as hell. Nice.

And then he comes out and is like this is my partner Steve :) and it's the most generic suburb dad photo of Steve imaginable with loafers and 90's dad patterned sweater and his hair all nice and he looks like the most Just Some Guy ever with no nail covered bat or chains in sight. And people are like him??? HE has a bat studded with rusty nails in his closet? He's the one that almost got rabies biting a bat that was attacking him? This guy? The cognitive dissonance almost over powers the homophobia tbh

i have a semi-funny story? fact? occurrence? about happy holidays vs merry christmas. i have a few speech impediments but the most obvious ones are R lisps (cant pronounce Rs) and S lisps (cant pronounce Ss). so when the holiday season comes around, naturally, i say 'happy holidays' since there are no Rs and a single S which i can say fast enough that not many people notice. whenever i say happy holidays at work and someone gets all pissy about it, i pause everything im doing and say merry christmas and, of course, it does not sound at all how its supposed to. so i go 'wait hold on, lemme try again' and i will make them wait a full minute+ as i try to garble out a phrase. it gets even more funny (for me) when my stutter kicks in and it takes me 10 seconds to even START the word 'merry.' and its like, what are they gonna say? 'stop trying to say the thing i WANTED you to say?''nvm just say happy holidays?' they think if they comment on it, it'll make me feel bad, so theyre trapped until i decide they've learned their lesson. ive been doing this for the past 3 years at multiple jobs and i have no intention of stopping.

There’s a protest going on against AI art over on artstation, so I feel like now is the time for me to make a statement on this issue! 

I wholeheartedly support the ongoing protest against AI art. Why? Because my artwork is included in the datasets used to train these image generators without my consent. I get zero compensation for the use of my art, even though these image generators cost money to use, and are a commercial product. 

Musicians are not being treated the same way. Stability has a music generator that only uses royalty free music in their dataset. Their words: “Because diffusion models are prone to memorization and overfitting, releasing a model trained on copyrighted data could potentially result in legal issues.” Why is the work of visual artists being treated differently?

Many have compared image generators to human artists seeking out inspiration. Those two are not the same. My art is literally being fed into these generators through the datasets, and spat back out of a program that has no inherent sense of what is respectful to artists. As long as my art is literally integrated into the system used to create the images, it is commercial use of my art without my consent.

Until there is an ethically sourced database that compensates artists for the use of their images, I am against AI art. I also think platforms should do everything they can to prevent scraping of their content for these databases. 

Artists, speak out against this predatory practice! Our art should not be exploited without our consent, and we deserve to be compensated when our art is exploited for commercial use.
