I feel like this moment deserved more delusional theorizing so here’s a post about it:

It’s a less than 10-second moment in an already short interview, roughly from moment 1:10 — 1:19.

And I heard a couple of bloggers mention how he points behind him after Juju says “I know Jimin is in town,” — suggesting that Jimin is not only in town but very likely backstage 🤭

But the part that really gets me is his reaction to Juju saying Jimin’s name. He gulps, his eyes go wide and he immediately looks to his interpreter, then visibly relaxes with an “ah” when he realizes the question is innocuous.

AND LIKE.

THAT WAS SO SUS OF HIM.

Pretty much every other question he appeared to be working on his English, listening to her question and fairly confidently responding, whether in English or Korean. But that one he paused, stock still, and after he confirmed Jimin’s in New York he even appeared to wipe his brow/nervously mess with his hair! You don’t have to be a “body language expert” or whatever the hell to read that as slight panic and then relief.

Which begs the question… why was he nervous? He clearly froze at Jimin’s name — what did he think she was asking?

Was the reason for their trip (let’s say it was for some wholesome, OT7, official content reason that we’ll get footage for eventually) so top-secret he was terrified of her leaking the concept early?

Or was he worried her question was of a more “gotcha” nature?

Lastly, would he have reacted that way had she said someone else’s name instead? RM? Yoongi, who also had a lot going on at that moment? He’s part of a very famous band; she could have mentioned any of his 6 bandmate’s names and it wouldn’t have been out of the blue for them to get brought up. In fact she had just finished a question about his fellow bandmates as a whole and he was cool as a cucumber when she asked that. So why the fight, flight, freeze response when she dropped Jimin’s name?

If the guy in the video is indeed Jungkook, then why do u think they may have soft launched relationship?

And why did Jungkook take time to confirm he has no gf then? He could have just ignored.

Like V is rumored to date Jennie and he has said nothing about this.

Also many Jkkrs would disagree but I do think Jungkook is into women too.

I am not saying he can't be into guys coz I do think he is? Was? Attracted to Jimin.

I don’t necessarily think that’s what it was, that’s what the blogger whose post I shared said and I think they were just mentioning it as one of many possibilities (they also made that statement prior to him addressing the gf rumor, so). I don’t think it’s uncommon for celebrities to get “caught” with someone they’re dating as a way to kind of test the waters (as opposed to like showing up on a red carpet as an official couple) so that they can see what fans think and develop a PR strategy for how to roll out the relationship based on that. I imagine it’s even more intense and calculated for KPop idols. But again that wasn’t necessarily my stance. I think it’s possible it was staged/deliberately misleading, etc. I just also think it looks like him. But if it was staged then… it would be intended to look like him. Lol.

But my feelings about Jimin and Jungkook have never required that they be an epically in love exclusively gay monogamous married couple. I’ve always just said… something’s up between them. And I stand by that, no matter how much JK was adorably hanging off a woman at some point.

Perhaps they are not dating or have never actively dated or dated in the past but aren’t anymore; either way, their dynamic is markedly and visibly different with each other than it is with the other members and that’s suspicious.

Like I said once when talking about the behind the scenes book — if they are just friends, it is the most longing-filled friendship ever and I stand by that 😅 they have some serious connection that is deeper than your average bro to bro friendship.

Ending things with a funny tweet that fits with @parkparkjeon ‘s comment above about the timeline and what JK spent his long-hair months doing (aka, binging on Jimin content. I think it’s his version of American football).

Now, to get into my Jikooker bag, my only genuine opinion is that Jimin and Jungkook have a weird ass relationship, lmao!

If Jungkook was dating a woman back in March or is still dating that woman today… him and Jimin are either cheaters (unserious) or are oddly close “bros”. Because they were heavy flirting on welive in JULY. And people can try and flip the script now and say it was friends being funny, but the entire fandom had to pause that day because everyone felt like a third wheel. So if we all were awkward laughing at Jimin telling Jungkook he can handle him naked, and JK then begging to be invited over to Jimin’s…

I don’t know man, lol. It’s giving they either have an open relationship or are fuck buddies who take a break when they get into relationships. Because I don’t know anyone who would believe two people who take private trips, do surprise birthday trips, put their mouths on each other, flirt with each other, and get teased by close friends for flirting with each other, have never slept together. Barring them being asexual.

Like I said, JK having a potential girlfriend is not an issue. Not in the slightest, I just find it strange on his and Jimin’s part that he presumably had a girlfriend while being super, visibly tuned into Jimin while he was promoting FACE. Which started in late March. So again and again, I’ll keep saying it. JK having a girlfriend is not a problem, it is him and Jimin that don’t add up.

Because what was JK doing hugged up with a woman supposedly in March, just after Jimin ventured off to promote his album and such, yet he was popping on live to obsess over Jimin, lol. Then by July, the two of them are flirting and insinuating on welive that they wanna hookup, and then they showed up in New York for a long weekend. And since, Jimin has only shown praise for JK’s achievements while JK seemingly has only spoken highly of Jimin.

AKA!!! Their dynamic still seems the same! So they are either really and truly the closest platonic besties in the world (which is fine), or they fuck around when they’re not dating other people.

And to be honest, unless it is revealed that the video is not of JK… I’m going with the latter, lol. Because there is a defined line of separation when it comes to how Jikook act with each other compared to the other members, so I just can’t currently wrap my head around all of it being strictly friendly. And the other members have reacted to them in ways that don’t paint them as strictly friends either, which is a key part in why I don’t think they are.

So my stance right now is, perhaps they were once committed and it didn’t work, so they opened their relationship up. Or they were never monogamous. Either way, I would bet money they were and are more than friends.
