Hi anon☺️thank you for stopping by. I only touched upon the watch detail (can it be a detail, even if it’s such a big thing?), so I think it’s time to deepen the convo.
I’d like to start with the definition of “coincidence” we find on the vocabulary: “a remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection”.
It was a coincidence, for Jikook, to meet. To end up in the same band out of infinite possible combinations, while being from the same city, having the same IQ, the same moles placements, same passions.
It was a coincidence, for them, to have two voices that perfectly fit together, and two voices where one actually emphasizes and values the other. It’s a coincidence when Jimin’s jacket gets entangled with Jungkook’s. It’s a coincidence (sometimes) when they end up in the same group or even as a couple, in games and Run episodes. It’s a coincidence when nothing and none is forcing it or making it happen.
Then it’s up to our beliefs, thinking that said coincidences are pushed and regulated by the fate or not. That a destiny or a god made them happen. It’s up to us, believing that there’s a bigger plan meant to make soulmates meet and love each other in this life time. It’s our choice. Rationally speaking, these are just coincidences.
Jikook meeting, getting to know each other and falling in love, was a coincidence.
I know, these are life changing coincidences, things that made Jikook possible and which gave them the chance to end up together, fundamental coincidences. They determinated their life path.
But still… rationality, you know. We need to stay with our feet on the ground, in order to talk about this watch thing. So that people saying it’s “a coincidence” and saying we’re delusional cults, can actually understand who’s being objective, rational and critical, and who’s not. So that in forever denial - assholes people can shut up.
Moving on😛
There are a few points we should talk about.
1-Jimin’s personality and behaviors;
2-Jikook’s behaviors, as a (closeted) couple, and their habit of being cryptic;
3-Jimin wearing that specific watch just during his live;
4-The time (3:24) being mathematically and practically impossible to match with any other ST (standard time) in the world.
(If you already know point 1 and 2, you can directly go to point 3).
1. First of all, Jimin is a very attentive type of person. In his work, his improvement, his choices. He’s the type of man who notices when Jungkook’s trying to talk and nobody is listening to him/talks over him.
He’s the type of man who notices that his best friend J-Hope is loosing weight, having a hard time, during his solo activities, and supports him around the world.
He’s the type of person who will notice the smallest and weirdest details, but will also manage to keep a straight, serious face. Someone who doesn’t easily panic on camera, or when is caught by it, or when something unplanned happens on it.
We said it so many times: Jungkook is the only person who’s able to touch Jimin’s right strings, making him blush and fluster. But also because Jimin allows it to happen.
If Jungkook tells Jimin “you’ll always be n.1 to me”, Jimin will smile and feel embarrassed, but will also manage to collect himself and say “thank you, thank you”. Going back to controlling his expressions and his body, from head to toe.
If Jungkook flirts with Jimin, telling him “my heart is burning”, Jimin, again, will smile and feel embarrassed, but will also manage to collect himself and say “I told you to don’t say such things”. With a scolding-hyung tone and attitude.
He’s careful with what he shows on camera, his last live is a good example; how long he shows his rooms, which rooms, from what angle, with lights on or off. Even when he was moving around, going for the mood lamp, he always pointed his phone to the ceiling. Never held his phone up, like Jungkook did. So that nothing more than what he wanted could be ever shown.
We’re talking about someone who’s also watch-attentive.
I think my point is clear, isn’t it? Jimin is smart. Thoughtful. Grounded. And that’s a very important thing we need to know, in order to proceed.
2. Secondly, Jikook as a couple are also very subtle. We had times when they were literally communicating throught tweets. Numbers. Important dates. Code language. Times on ig stories (23:08). I dare to say instagram posts too, because of Jungkook publishing seaside-pics right when Jimin had a dating rumor going on, claiming that, if I’m not mistaken, Jimin was with * on the day he actually was with JK.
Even through weverse, sometimes. My opinion about the “I miss you” post (and Jungkook replying with “me too”) is that Jimin’s primary intention was to tell ARMY he missed them. Telling us he missed us. And then, Jungkook (who was really struggling with that forced separation) made it about him, them: he made it loud.
Jikook have a whole history about these things. Songs’ covers, clothes matching, “I am ARMY/I love ARMY/ARMY always looks good”. Rings, earrings, necklaces. Jungkook’s concept for Seven. Jimin’s Letter (Dear.Army). Jungkook playing the guitar on live. Touches, hearts🫰🏻, flying kisses, and who knows what else we missed through the years.
I think this point is clear too. Jikook are smart and, even if closeted and not openly dating (or maybe because of it), feel the natural need to show the world they love each other, of course in alternative ways. It was louder and easier to uncover some years ago, but it’s not a disappeared habit nowdays. It’s just more shrewd. A full stop, a pose for a picture, some sharpen needles on a jacket. And I think it’s also a personal choice, more than just a constraint.
(Enjoy Jimin trying to obtain JK’s attention and then giving him a subtle finger heart. Suga is so real for this, lol).
3. Now that we understood how much capable Jikook would be of doing something like setting their watch on the other’s birth time, let’s talk about it.
Jimin attended the Dior event, that same night. 01/09/2023. He was not wearing that watch, the one we see in his live. So we all agree on the fact that he wore it when he got home.
Why wearing a “malfunctioning” watch (which is, by the way, hella expensive, and doesn’t even run on batteries) while being at home, ready to wash up and go to sleep, just to go on live?
So it’s either Jimin being fancy and eccentric, wanting to show us (or me, at least, lol) something we can’t afford at all, or his computer, phone and clock not having the local time set (I feel so dumb giving such options), or him wearing it for a completely different purpose and with a completely different target.
I feel like saying, maybe for the absolutely first time, being 100% sure, that not only it’s the third option we’re talking about, but we also know who the target was:
Us.
It was not for JK. Unless Jimin told him (and then, what’s the point? Is it a “public eye” kink?😑), Jungkook probably didn’t notice that. If he watched the live, he probably didn’t notice, and if he did, maybe Jimin got two birds with one stone.
We were the main reason. With “we”, I mean people with the right eyes. I talked about this with Letter; I talked about this with FACE; I talked about this with Jikook. I’m repetitive, but some things require the right sight. A gaze which goes beyond the surface, and reads between the lines.
Jimin knew that not everyone was gonna notice the watch time. He knew that the first person who was gonna notice, was someone who not only looks at the details, pays attention to him and his accessories, but also who knows Jungkook’s birth time. So someone who either remembered from his live, or who knows his tattoos and remembers his clock one.
I don’t feel like saying he was reassuring us. They don’t owe us anything, and they’ve been showing their love for each other in different occasions lately; but I feel like saying that Jimin wanted us to percieve… the love.
He wanted us to feel the delicacy and gentleness behind that gesture. The importance Jungkook has not only in his life,but also in his daily and domestic one. Jungkook, for Jimin, is someone who brings him joy and happiness. So he wanted him on his wrist, that night, on a watch released in 1997. Just like the love of his life.
He wanted to show us (because he knew that once one of us noticed, everybody was gonna know, but not everybody was gonna accept it) that little and tiny gesture, which probably mattered everything to him, that night. Maybe because him and Jungkook couldn’t meet in the evening, due to schedules or what else; maybe because it was a different birthday, the last one before the separation; maybe because they couldn’t do anything special more than staying home and laying down, as JK said.
There’s something so sweet and heart wrenching in it. It’s delicate and devastating. Imagine Jimin arriving at home, after attending an event, tired and probably releasing a lot of nervousness. He takes off his shoes, puts on some baggy clothes, improvises an home-live, wears his watch and… moves the clock hands to 3:24.
That’s romantic, ingenuous… simple. Simple but so, so, so important to him. To them.
Jungkook was on his mind all the time during the live. He talked about him out of nowhere not for one, but two times. And those two times were right at the beginning of the live, and towards the end. And he had no reason to mention him, except for his mind being on him all the time.
Jimin knows that beyond the hate he receives, the threats, the insults, the mocking and the defamations, there’s also a huge group of people who loves him. He said it himself: “this job needs people supporting you”. So he knows he’s also supported. He knows that in proportion to the hate he gets, there’s a wave of love and protection raising up.
There are people who love him for who he is and who he loves. The guys are among us, we always said so: Jimin is as well. He reads what people think about him and JK. The bad and the good. He probably knows how much we admire them, appreciate them, protect them.
The whole wave of hate his friend received, for confirming the heart picture, is an example. Maybe with the wrong terms and ways, but always with good intentions, people and Jikookers just wanted Jikook to stay safe. I don’t stick to that overprotective behavior as I said in previous posts and I already explained why. But I get it, Jimin gets it too.
Jimin knows that.
That’s what I mean when I say that it must feel like shit when people don’t get that a whole hidden track, called Dear.Army, with Jungkook doing its background vocals, is an implicit love confession. An implicit declaration of love. Something between him and his lover, only the two of them, that Jimin chose to share with us.
Just like the watch time, purposely shown on camera, with his arm placed on the desk.
4. This is a more technical point, but just in case anyone decides to bring this up, I’m mentioning it.
I really enjoyed this post, so I suggest you to read it. OP made me realize what I’m gonna say.
So Jimin’s watch is set on 3:24. It was actually 20:54 KST.
Not only Jimin’s watch was not set on any other country ST, as I said, because no country he could have possibly visited was on 3:24 at KST 20:54, but also because minutes don’t change.
If right now, somewhere, is 20:00, in the rest of the world is gonna be 19:00, 18:00, 13:00. Even 3:00. But not 3:24.
With that being said, the only reason could be a 70,000€ worth watch not working. And Jimin wearing it, out of nowhere, for no reason, at home, to go live.
Sure. We are delusional, aren’t we?

Anyways, who that was for doesn’t matter. It could be some sort of love game, a “I have clues of you on me” thing, “find them”.
Whatever that was, it was meant to be seen, shown, noticed and talked about. It was meant to make the right people feel the love.
So I thank Jimin for that, from the bottom of my heart.

Well, there actually is a causal connection. No universe on it, no fate, no planets aligned: it was Jimin’s free will.
I feel like this moment deserved more delusional theorizing so here’s a post about it:
It’s a less than 10-second moment in an already short interview, roughly from moment 1:10 — 1:19.
And I heard a couple of bloggers mention how he points behind him after Juju says “I know Jimin is in town,” — suggesting that Jimin is not only in town but very likely backstage 🤭
But the part that really gets me is his reaction to Juju saying Jimin’s name. He gulps, his eyes go wide and he immediately looks to his interpreter, then visibly relaxes with an “ah” when he realizes the question is innocuous.
AND LIKE.
THAT WAS SO SUS OF HIM.
Pretty much every other question he appeared to be working on his English, listening to her question and fairly confidently responding, whether in English or Korean. But that one he paused, stock still, and after he confirmed Jimin’s in New York he even appeared to wipe his brow/nervously mess with his hair! You don’t have to be a “body language expert” or whatever the hell to read that as slight panic and then relief.
Which begs the question… why was he nervous? He clearly froze at Jimin’s name — what did he think she was asking?
Was the reason for their trip (let’s say it was for some wholesome, OT7, official content reason that we’ll get footage for eventually) so top-secret he was terrified of her leaking the concept early?
Or was he worried her question was of a more “gotcha” nature?
Lastly, would he have reacted that way had she said someone else’s name instead? RM? Yoongi, who also had a lot going on at that moment? He’s part of a very famous band; she could have mentioned any of his 6 bandmate’s names and it wouldn’t have been out of the blue for them to get brought up. In fact she had just finished a question about his fellow bandmates as a whole and he was cool as a cucumber when she asked that. So why the fight, flight, freeze response when she dropped Jimin’s name?

I mean we know it wasn’t written by Jung Kook but obviously the version he recorded was arranged with and for JK, and “leave your body golden” can’t be a coincidence right? Like it’s the whole ass album name, plus a word that carries connotations of JK himself, which the ppl who worked with him on Seven must have known.
So if that wasn’t a coincidence… then what about:
1. “How we left and right is something we control” — a callback to both Left and Right by CP feat JK, but also a nod to Butter, a massive BTS hit and a song that he performs alongside his boyfie bestie JM.
2. “When it’s deep like DNA, something they can’t take away” — a callback to another massive BTS hit, interesting. And *delulu warning* also reminds me of JM and JK’s extreme similarities that they themselves have referred to before?? They’re wired the same, they have the same sense of humor, they live and breathe for the same shit and even though they have some very key differences, they really do seem like twin flames (even if you just see it as platonic). They are similar in ways that seem braided into the fibers of their being. Like, in their DNA 🧬 some may say. *delulu warning #2* I’m also reminded of Jimin’s Letter lyrics: “After all this time has passed will we still be the same? Just like we were when we first met.”
Also, “something they can’t take away” is an interesting turn of phrase… more on that later.
3. Okay the real meaty part:

First off, again with the Letter lyrics mirrored here with the “test of time.” Then it’s got all this drama about being ripped apart and how it won’t happen and how they’ll be next to each other no matter what and that they have “something they can’t take away.”
Not only does all that line up with other Letter lyrics, but it is so goddamn dramatic and for what?
Be for real, what straight couple in this day and age would have this much working against them?? The only possible explanations are: 1) within the fantasy world of a song I suppose this could be some sort of Romeo and Juliet/West Side Story motif, and to be fair the music video did have a kind of rival gang/crime family look to it? Sort of? With the men fighting below the stage? Idk. Or it could be 2) the fact that idols do in fact often have to hide even their straight relationships, which is wild to me. But I know it’s a thing, so. I suppose there’s that. JK doesn’t seem the type though honestly. I think he’d be even more open about it than V.
On the other hand, the lyrics seem SO fit for a couple who are a) queer, b) closeted, c) currently in/about to be in a legislatively homophobic military and country (am I saying that right? Lol) and d) internationally famous pop idols in the SAME BAND who are both widely regarded as heterosexual sex symbols and would be shunned by many people in their homeland AND internationally if their queerness were to be revealed, much less if they were truly an item and THAT news broke.
Whew. That was a lot but like… that would be a real example of a relationship that would be VERY threatened by outside forces plotting against them and trying to separate them. Not JK and a hot blonde model, not him and a Korean actress, not basically any other scenario but a queer relationship.
Idk I know he didn’t write it but like ??? What the hell is that theme? I’m dying to get inside the mind of the people who DID write it, because are they or are they jikookers at this point like?!
4. Just for fun I’ll also point out the “leave your body golden like the sun and moon” 😏 like. Okay. At this point the songwriters are watching Jikook compilations, drooling over @slaaverin edits like convince me they’re not. CONVINCE ME.

Alright alright I’m done but you get my point. What even is this song if not an anthem of jikookery?! It’s more on-the-nose than Letter, more sneaky than Still With You. It wasn’t written by JK but at this point I’m calling that the songwriters are as delulu as me.
