Shireen:

Shireen:

“Mother is angry with me but I do not understand what I did wrong.”

Shireen confessed, this clearly seemed to trouble her greatly. She wondered if she had spoken to her father about this, which was what prompted her to ask him those questions. Hoping that he wouldn’t mind. But it seemed like he was just as surprised by her questions as she was about what happened earlier.

Stannis’s brow furrows, not understanding what could have occurred between his wife and daughter. He did not like that Shireen was unsure about what had caused her mother’s upset. Something about it made his stomach roil, as if something told him that Selyse was taking out some frustration on his heir. First he would try to attempt to comfort his daughter, though he was not one for comfort.

“Come here.” he stated, arm held open to invite her to his side.

Lady Bolton:

“YOU’RE JON’S STEWARD ??” jeyne asks, her voice soft; hesitant.  she lifts her eyes from the fire to watch the boy as he walks in the room.  he is pretty, she notes, i had been pretty once too.  jeyne wonders what someone like him had done to get sent to the wall, or had he volunteered to go like jon snow ??  she has kept to herself since jon had accepted her at the wall, wrapped up in her own arms and cautions.  the princess shireen had offered to play with her once, but jeyne could not contain her tears and confied herself to jon’s meager holdings mostly since.  “my father was lord stark’s steward.”

satin does his best to not look too directly at her, not wishing to make the girl uncomfortable. from what jon had told him, the girl had just went through a living hell. he dared not ask what had caused the tears that he had seen before, when the princess had asked to play. “i am quite lucky, mi’lady. not many of the men here are too keen on me... jon gave me a chance.” he listened to her words about her father, and he wondered if the man had died like jon had said most who went south with lord stark had. he doesn’t move too swiftly as he brings the hot meal towards where she sat, not wishing to startle or upset her. “you grew up around jon, then?”

Robb Month, Week One: Theon || Prompt: Freedom
Robb Month, Week One: Theon || Prompt: Freedom

Robb Month, Week One: Theon || Prompt: Freedom

This prompt made me think about how Robb is such a symbol of freedom to so many people. To the northerners he symbolizes freedom from the Iron Throne and an independent north. He is also a symbol of freedom to Theon. Robb literally frees him by sending him home after he has been a hostage for ten years. Robb and Theon also negotiated an alliance that would mean freedom and independence for the Iron Islands as well. Robb and Theon thought they could achieve freedom for their homelands and rule together as allies and friends. And yet, in the end, this quest for freedom ended up imprisoning both of them in different ways and made Robb wonder why would any man ever want to be king?

@aclashofmuses hit the like for a starter

domeric was certain that he knew why he’d been named as one of lady stark’s personal guards for the negotiations. his father was at the heart of this, not the young wolf, wishing his heir to be away from where the fighting was the thickest. he’d nearly died two years ago, and while he’d recovered the near loss had meant that his father would be careful with him. a lord is nothing without his heir, and while roose never stated that he was more careful for domeric’s sake the young man knew why. it was not for his love of domeric, no, it was for convenience, had domeric passed he would be pressured to marry again and have a new heir, and roose did found boy lords loathsome. no, domeric at least was a man grown, no chance of a boy lord when roose died there.

roose had only taken him south to keep him from ramsay, he knew, as his father was certain the illness that had nearly taken domeric’s life had been poison. an idea that domeric prayed was not the case, for he had only sought to have the companionship of a brother. family had always been something that he had craved and missed, so in a way he certainly understood some of what lady stark was currently going through, and why she was still in the south with her eldest. she wanted to see her family back together, as he had wanted to see his family become bigger than just himself and his lord father.

“do you think, my lady, that treating with renly will truly work?” he prayed that it would, and that this would not be all for nought.

King Robb:

hamilton starters. pt. 1 II “ i imagine death so much it’s like a memory. ” -Torrhen for Robb in an AU where Tor survived the Whispering Woods II @neithergodsnormen

TOO close of a brush with death far too many times.  torrhen would have died for him, robb is sure, if it had come down to it, but he does not let himself linger on the what-ifs and the full weight of the casualties or else he would never find the strength again to stand.  it had been luck, but every victory has been for the boy king who had never known battle a day before his first, and had not yet lost since – it had been precision and planning and the perfection of capturing the kingslayer before he could get through and add another to his list.

image

ROBB’S hand rests upon torrhen’s shoulder and he squeezes.  he sees the faces of their fallen, and his father who sansa had to witness in his place; he sees the purple bags beneath his tully blues in his own reflection and reminds himself why they must go on.  “i know,” he says, “and one day, it will be only memory – when the fighting is done and we’ve gone home – but not this day.  you live, and though i know i already ask much of you, i must ask you to keep living still.”

seeing the sword part the flesh and go into daryn’s skull replayed again and again in his mind, daryn, who should have been his good-brother at this time next year. if it wasn’t daryn’s demise it was eddard’s, the sight of the lion’s sword burying itself into edd’s neck. he could still see the look of shock on his brother’s face, and fear… gods forbid… fear in edd’s eyes as he gasped for breath that would never reach his lungs for the sword that was in his throat, blood welling around it. he’d near lost his own hand that day as well, saved only by the maester that worked for riverrun..

tor takes a deep breath and dark grey eyes flick to meet blue and he finds his throat is tight once more as he looks at his king. vulnerable, he felt more vulnerable than he ever wished to feel again. robb’s words wring true, however, and he knows that he would be doing edd and daryn a disservice to not keep living and hold their memory alive with himself. “you can ask anything of me, my king, and i will gladly give it.” and he would, until his last breath. “for you, i will keep living, even when i wish not to.”
