Thick-skinned - Neymar Jr x reader

Thick-skinned - Neymar Jr X Reader

Neymar Jr x female!reader

Requested? Yes/No: Hey 😊One with Neymar where you've been together for a long time, but his family doesn't like you since you're not from Brazil and you know how much he loves his family, so you think he's going to leave you. It's at a family dinner and his sister, whom he loves very much, starts saying that he should get with her friend instead and seeing you so uncomfortable finally makes him snap. Also, if reader has a very good relationship with Davi Lucca since she has been in his life since he was a toddler.

Warnings: Angst, fluff, swearing

Word Count: 3K

Neymar and you had been dating for years now, the pair of you were joined at the hip at all times. You attended every single game wearing his name on the back of your shirt, whether he was playing for PSG or Brazil, you were always there for him. He did the same for you, he would always celebrate your achievements at work and he always made sure you never stressed over anything. The man was head over heels in love but his family never felt the same towards you.

Unlike Neymar, you weren’t from Brazil so your lives growing up were very different and that was something his family disapproved of. They didn’t believe you understood their culture and what Neymar really meant to them, they saw you as an alien that never could come to terms with the way his family worked. The way his family acted towards you killed you but you always suppressed your sadness when he was around. When he would head off to training you’d let it all out before putting on a brave face when he walked through the door, never wanting to cause an argument with him and his family as you knew how much he adored them. His family was his world but to him, you were also family and even he was slowly getting sick of the comments from them.

Where you could avoid his family, you did. As mean as it sounded you didn’t care, it was not only for your sake but for his but you couldn’t avoid it today. Neymar was travelling back to Brazil for training before he and the squad flew out to Qatar for the World Cup. Normally you’d make a lie and tell him you couldn’t fly out because of work but you’d be there for the games but this time he asked you to be with him. For him, you put everything aside, putting a brave face on you flew out to Brazil.

“y/n!” A booming voice grabbed your attention. Davi Lucca was running over to you with open arms. You’d known him since he was a toddler and he was the only one who never gave you any grief well, him and his Mum.

“Hello, little man!” You smiled down at the boy, holding your arms out as he crashed into them, hugging you tight. “You’re getting big.” You pulled back, looking at the boy who resembled your boyfriend in some ways.

“How are you, buddy?” Neymar joined the two of you, smiling at your interaction with his son.

“Good.” He smiled looking between you two before he fixed his gaze on you. He quickly grabbed your hand and dragged you to the garden. “Look at what I can do now!” He turned back to you. “I did what you said, I practised every single day!”

You knew what he was talking about. When you last visited him Neymar was showing him keepy uppy’s and attempted to teach him how to do them but very quickly the young boy got discouraged. There would always be pressure on him, his Dad was one of the greatest footballers of all time and no matter what path in life he chose, everyone would compare him to Neymar.

Pulling him aside you gave him some words of encouragement, similar to those you’d give his Dad when he needed them the most. That afternoon you watched him constantly practising his skills, never giving up even when the sun went down.

Grabbing a ball he started to kick the ball in the air, never letting it touch the floor with a beaming smile on his face as he noticed your expression. You didn’t realise Neymar was watching you from the doorway to the garden, his heartwarming with pride as he watched the two of you.

“Excited for the World Cup?” A sudden female voice grabbed his attention, his sister. He didn’t look back, his eyes glued to the sight before him.

“Of course.” He replied. “You’ll all be there, and y/n.”

“I thought only family were able to go…”

Neymar whipped his head around to meet her gaze, a frown on his lips before he spoke. “She is family, we’ve been dating for years -”

“And she still isn’t part of this family. You haven’t even put a ring on her finger.”

“I’m not rushing.” He looked back at you. “I already have a ring I just need the right time.”

“Do you remember my friend Maria?”

“Who?” His brows furrowed as his sister changed the subject.

“Maria? Dark hair, green eyes, beautiful girl, could be a model.”

“Right…”

“I was thinking about bringing her to the games, she’s always wanted to come and support her country.” She made sure to emphasise the words ‘her country’. “Is y/n going to watch her country?”

“Why does that matter? Besides I don’t have endless tickets, the other lads have a family too.”

“That’s fine… me, Mum, Dad, David Lucca and the rest of the kids, a few of your mates and we’re fine.”

“y/n will be there.”

“It’s not even her country why should she take up a seat?” She huffed. “Maria met you a while ago, she’s single and Mum loves her -”

Whilst she continued her words Neymar was clueless to the idea that you could hear every single word being spoken between him and his sister. You did your best to ignore it but the lack of defensive words coming from your boyfriend was hurting you. You knew he’d never want to cause any unnecessary drama between the two but whilst she continued to bring up another woman he never said no, he just longed the conversation out, allowing her to talk down about you more and more.

“That’s nice…” He brushed her off.

“And she’s got your name on the back of her shirt, she thinks you’ll win it this time, bring the cup home for everyone.”

“That’s the plan.”

“I’ll tell her to pack her bags, it’ll be so nice to see the two of you together again, she hasn’t forgotten the last time the two of you -” Her words were cut off by you barging past the siblings and heading to the door.

“Excuse me…” You didn’t look at either of them as you kept walking but Neymar could tell there were tears in your eyes.

“Meu amor…” He called after you, his hand catching your wrist but you pulled away from his grasp and headed to the front door. Not hesitating you threw the door open and stormed out, not caring if you didn’t really know where to go or if you knew anyone, you just needed to get away from them and him for a while.

You’d given up a lot for him, nearly your entire life if you thought about it long and hard enough. You packed up everything and followed him around Europe for his football career, leaving behind your friends and family for him. Everything you planned to do with your life was put on hold, all for him and sure you wouldn’t change it for the world, you loved him more than anything in the world but you wished he would take a step back and see how much you really had given up for him.

As you walked your mind started to recognise where you were. Neymar had taken you along these streets during the start of your relationship. There was a small clearing on the hill at the end of the street which looked over a large city. It was a place out of the way and despite the rush of Brazil it was calm and made the world seem at a standstill. Having nowhere else to go you headed towards the bank before planting yourself down to take in the view, contemplating if you’d ever go back.

Meanwhile, Neymar had snapped. He never thought he’d have the guts to do so. He’d stood up to his Dad a few times but even then the rest of his family joined in and he ended up backing down but he knew this time he wouldn’t even if now was the time he needed his family more than ever.

“Why would you say that?” His eyes burned at his sister’s. “Do you all get some sick enjoyment from making the woman I love cry?”

“Oh come on you know she’ll never fit in -”

“Why not?” He challenged. “Because she’s from a different part of the world? Is that why you think she’ll never ‘fit in?’.”

“You two are just so different.” His father had now joined the conversation. “She’s distracted you -”

“Distracted me? She’s the only one who turns up to every single one of my games, she was there throughout my injury, every single time I had the smallest graze or cut she was the one who patched me up and made sure I was okay before a game. She encouraged me to do better in this sport.”

“So did I.” His father stepped forward, looking hurt at his son's words. “I helped you, I made you get to where you are now -”

“No you didn’t!” Neymar’s temper grew. “You only wanted me to succeed so you had a status, you act like I’m a child, always trying to control me and my money.”

“Don’t speak to him like that!” His sister joined the conversation again, her eyes widened at her brother's words. “You know we all only ever wanted the best for you -”

“If that was true you wouldn’t treat y/n the way you do. You can see she makes me happy and even if she isn’t your ideal girl for me then that’s fine but I'm the only one who can make that decision for myself and for the last few years it’s been the best decision of my life. She makes me a better man than I was and if you can’t see that then don’t bother coming to Qatar to support me. If you can’t accept her as a family then I don’t want your support.”

His family stood in silence at his words, stunned he would have such an outburst and stick with it. Even though he was stunned at his own words, as much as he hated causing a divide with his family he knew he had to speak up when it came to you. He couldn’t go a lifetime pretending he didn’t know you were crying when he went to training or seeing how uncomfortable you got when his family gave you a sly glance.

“About time.” The sudden silence was broken by the voice of his mother who stood watching the scene unfold from a distance.

“What?” Neymar asked, his face scrunching at her words.

“About time you stood up for her, I raised you better but you know what they say, better late than never.”

When you first met his Mum she too was a little reserved when it came to you, her mind wondering if you were really there because you loved him or if you wanted him for his money and fame but when his injury almost left him paralysed struck she knew you really did love him. You dropped everything to be by his side that day, never leaving him even when family begged you to come home. You were a mess but you didn’t care, only leaving when you knew he was safe. His Mum watched as you cared for him, watched as you lost yourself with worry and just from that she knew you would be his for a long time.

She kept her opinions at bay when she saw how everyone else acted towards you. She just waited silently for her son to jump to your defence, wondering how far everyone would push him until he eventually cracked and today was that day.

“It’s getting dark, go and find her before she throws what you had away.”

Despite her words being harsh he gave her a thankful smile and a nod, he didn’t need to utter a word for her to know how much that meant to him. Silence filled the air as Neymar stepped away from his family and headed out of the door, his eyes already scanning his neighbourhood, hoping to catch a glint or a hint as to where you were. He had an idea but he worried you would’ve forgotten all the memories the two of you made in this place.

Your tears had dried from the tears you’d shed, your eyes no longer glossy as you looked out onto the city below you. Your breathing was finally calm as the cool air hit your skin. Everything was finally peaceful when a smooth voice caught your attention.

“Meu amor, aqui estás tu…” My love, there you are… Neymar’s eyes lit up with relief as he fell to his knees beside you. “I was worried…”

It hurt to see him this upset but you kept your gaze fixed on the skyline. “I’m fine…”

“No, you’re not.” He sat beside you. “y/n I’m so sorry -”

“Why don’t you ever defend me? I get that your family means the world to you but I thought I did too. For years I stayed silent and let them make snide comments, I let them judge me for just simply dating their son and not once in the years we’ve been together did you ever defend me.” You tore your eyes away from the city and looked into his. “I can’t keep pretending like everything between me and your family is fine, I don’t want to bottle up my tears and wait until you go to training to let them out. I gave up everything for you and I know you never asked me to but I wanted to and I just want you to understand how much I gave up us.”

He didn’t say anything for a second, taking a deep breath before speaking. “I can’t say sorry enough. I was just worried that if I spoke and made a scene they would walk out on me and so would you. I never want you to leave my side, the thought of being alone without you kills me y/n. It’s not an excuse, I know it’s not. I should have defended you a long time ago and I didn’t and for that I am sorry.”

“Do you mean it?”

“Of course, I mean it y/n, why would I lie to you? Before I came here I snapped, I don’t regret it… my mum was annoyed though -”

“She still hates me?”

“Quite the opposite.” He smiled. “She was annoyed at me,”

“For what?”

“For not snapping earlier.” You mirrored his smile at his words, your head falling to his shoulder. “I’m really sorry y/n, I know no amount of words will make it up to you but actions do.” He mumbled into your hair as he planted a kiss on your head. “I promise I won’t ever let them say a negative word about you ever again. I’ve made it clear that if they can’t respect you then they won’t be coming to Qatar with us… or any of my games for that matter. I’ll only return home to see Davi Lucca and my Mum.”

“I don’t want to tear you apart -”

“You won’t, they’ve done that themselves.”

You lifted your head off his shoulder, your eyes meeting once again. Neymar cupped your jaw, pulling you closer to him his lips connected with yours. The sudden feeling of distress left you both as you embraced. His hands snuck around your waist, pulling you into his lap. Giggling at his actions you deepened the kiss, allowing your tongue to swipe across his lips as he pulled you against his chest. The two of you continued to make out before eventually pulling back, Neymar moved your hair out of your face as he smiled.

“Do you remember when I first brought you here?” He asked.

“I do, it’s where you asked me to be your girlfriend… and we shared our first kiss here.”

“You remember…” His smile widened.

“Why wouldn’t I?” Your hand ran through his hair, mirroring his expression. “Best day of my life -”

“Not the day I bought you all those flowers and left all the rose petals on the floor?”

“I wouldn’t have that if we didn’t spend our time here.” You counteracted his words.

“I don’t deserve you.” He smirked.

“Oh, I know.” You leant back in to kiss him.

Although you knew things would take time to mend what happened with his family but you knew he’d be there for you more when it came to their sly digs, even if it was just the odd comment.

Two Worlds Collided - Max Verstappen x reader

Two Worlds Collided - Max Verstappen X Reader

Max Verstappen xwolff!reader

Requested? Yes/No: how you doing ? 😛

can you do one that reader is Toto Wolff daughter and is dating Max please. Fluff and Angst scenarios please 🫶🏻Thank you 🥰

Summary: Dating the man that beat your Dad’s golden boy to his eighth world championship wasn’t exactly the easiest thing in the world.

Warnings: Fluff, angst, slight smut-ish, swearing

Word Count: 5.7K

Everything started when your Dad sent you to get coffee for him. It should have been just a normal and relatively easy task but today the world wanted to make everything a lot harder for you. Toto wasn’t in the best of moods so you were doing your best not to annoy him further. Max and Lewis had taken one another out on the track in Italy and needless to say, he was pissed and blamed Max immediately. When you left he was writing out an email for the FIA in the hopes of getting Red Bull a penalty, something you didn’t want to be around for.

You were rushing through the garages, frantically heading towards the Mercedes garage. Looking down at your phone you quickly checked the time to make sure you weren’t running too late when your body hit something solid. You felt yourself falling back as you dropped the coffee’s but before you could hit the ground a pair of strong arms wrapped themselves around your waist and held you close to their chest. Your eyes darted up to meet theirs.

Max Verstappen… shit…

“Good thing this suit is fireproof.” He glanced down at the coffee stains on his racing suit. “Otherwise maybe the press would believe that Mercedes have a vendetta against me.”

“I’m sorry, I wasn’t paying attention.” You tried your best not to stumble over your words as you spoke.

“It’s fine, I’m not exactly in pain.” He gave a light smile. “Just a bit damp.” His eyes met yours as his smile grew.

Max was known as someone who could never control his temper, a stone-cold dirty driver that wanted to win no matter what. He wouldn't care if he’d sent someone flying odd the track and into the wall or if he crashed into someone to stop them from winning, as long as he came out on top he didn't care. Toto and the rest of the garage hated him, sure he would give him credit where credit was due for his driving but other than that Toto hated him.

“You’re Toto’s daughter, right?” Max’s words grabbed your attention.

“I am.”

Max gave you a look before breaking out another smile. “And how’s that for you?” He didn’t wait for an answer before he spoke. “Stressful clearly.” His eyes trailed your body, smirking at the small coffee stains on your white Mercedes shirt.

Your eyes followed his and fell onto your chest. “Fuck sake.”

“I’ve got a spare shirt in my room if you want it.”

“If I get caught anywhere near you I’ll be killed -” You found your feet and pushed yourself away from his grip, weary anyone was watching.

“Just like your father, dramatic.” He smirked. “I have a spare shirt -”

“I’m not wearing a Red Bull shirt!”

“Relax, it’s just plain white. I’ll get your one washed and you’ll have it by the end of the day. Your Dad won’t ever need to know.”

“You think he won’t notice?” You looked at him like he was insane.

“Just lie to him,” Max said like it was nothing.

“Lie to him?” You looked at him in disbelief. “Sorry, but do you know who my Dad is?”

Max took a step closer to you, looking down at you with a smirk. “It’s a shirt, come to my room and get changed and whilst you do that I’ll go and replace those coffee’s that way Toto will be too distracted by his drink to notice, sound fair?”

You shouldn’t have followed him to his driver's room but you did. You knew if you were caught Toto would never let you turn up to a race ever again but you also knew he’d lose his shit if you didn’t turn up the coffee. You may have been his daughter but the man was under horrific stress. Lewis was currently battling things out with Max on the track in order to win his eighth world title and Toto was feeling every single inch of pressure.

You told Max what drinks you were once holding as you stepped into his room, his spare shirt on the side. You scanned his room, smiling to yourself as you saw the photos of him and his family around the room. It was clear this was the side of Max that others didn’t know. With drive to survive taking over fans' screens, it was clear Max was painted in a different light. No wonder why he refused to take part in the show this year.

Maybe he wasn’t all bad…

“Everything okay?” A soft knock at the door tore your eyes away from the photos as you changed.

“Fine.” You called back before opening the door to see Max holding all the drinks you once were. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” He smiled back.

“You haven’t poisoned them have you?” You raised your brow as you took the drinks into your own hands.

“You know I’m not as bad as the press makes me out to be.” His words were soft. You looked up at him to be met with his sad gaze. “I’m not like what they say.” He moved to sit down, closing the door behind him. “I just want to win.”

“They all do.” You replied, setting the coffee aside. “It just comes down to who wants it more, if you want it more than Lewis you’ll get it.”

“Do you think I can beat Lewis this season?”

You shrugged, moving to lean against the table. “That’s not for me to say -”

“Oh come on there’s no one here.” Max arched his brows. “I won’t snitch.” His lips turned up in a smirk. “Your secret is safe with me, Wolff.”

“You think I’m afraid of the press?”

“It’s not the press I think you’re worried about… I think you’re more afraid of your Dad finding out.”

“Could say the same about you, what would Jos Verstappen think if he found out that his son had the daughter of Toto Wolff in his room?”

“And what would Toto Wolff do if he found out his daughter was with his driver's rival?”

“I’m my own person you know Verstappen.”

“I could say the same thing.” Max leant back in his spot, his eyes trailing your body. “You look good in my shirt -”

“It’s a plain white shirt Verstappen, not exactly something with your name written on it.”

“Give it time.” He winked, earning you to roll your eyes.

“Well on that note I need to get back to the Mercedes garage, I’m already late so -”

“What hotel room are you in?” He suddenly cut you off.

“Why would you need to know that?”

“So I can return your shirt.”

Fair play Verstappen.

“Room fifty-seven.” You smiled back. “Thank you for that.” You picked the coffee’s up once again. “I appreciate it.”

“You won’t be spotted leaving, no one ever comes back here when they know I’m in here.”

“Why? You scare them that much?” A smile formed on your lips.

“They know not to bother me.” He smiled back.

“Thank you Verstappen.” You nodded, sending him a final goodbye as you left.

That wasn’t the last meeting you’d have with Max, far from it in fact. He came to your hotel room that night and he didn’t exactly drop off your shirt and leave. He had qualified that day and the two of you ended up spending the night talking about what had taken place. Max opened up to you and you opened up to him. The pair of you both had a Dad in the spotlight and the world was watching you both to see if you lived up to your father’s spotlight.

The next day was the day of the Russian Grand Prix. Lewis desperately wanted a win and needless to say he succeeded with him taking home the trophy and Max coming in a close second. It was rare Lewis ever wanted to go out and celebrate, normally he would have a chilled evening with the team and then head off to bed but tonight was different. He’d asked you to join him and you happily agreed.

You’d gone out with a few drivers before, mainly Lando and Daniel but you never stayed too long. You knew Toto didn’t like you being around certain drivers, he knew what they were like and the last thing he wanted for his daughter was to get her heart broken by some basic rich boy.  Toto always wanted Lewis to be present if you went out with another driver, just because he knew he could trust him but Toto never accounted for the times you’d be alone in the hotel hallways.

“Have a good night?” A sudden voice swam through the air. You were currently walking back to your hotel room after your night at the club. You’d decided to leave earlier than everyone else as you knew Toto would want to fly home to England late the next day. He always missed Jack, your younger brother, and couldn’t stand to be away from him longer than he needed to be.

Your eyes darted over to the sound, gazing into the eyes of Max Verstappen. “Hmm? Oh yeah… I did.” You gave him a faint smile. “And you?”

“Not much to celebrate.” He huffed.

“You came second that’s still an achievement.”

“You don’t win a World title by coming second.”

You shrugged at his words, steadying yourself as you walked towards him. “You have a point but second place isn’t something to be ashamed of, you still beat most drivers on the grid.”

“Most isn’t all.” He replied.

“Oh give over Verstappen.” You took a few steps closer to him, your hands resting on his chest, the alcohol in your system giving you confidence. “You know you’re the best driver on the grid.”

“You think that?” He smirked.

“I know it for a fact.”

“Are you drunk?” His smirk turned to a smile.

“No… only tipsy…”

“You need to get to bed.” He stepped closer, his hand wrapping around your waist. “Aren’t you going back to England tomorrow?”

“You remembered.” You smiled up at him. “Lewis has my keycard though…”

“And where is he?”

“Still at the club?”

Max’s expression turned sour. “You mean to tell me he just let you walk back here on your own.”

“Basically…”

“Dickhead.” Max spat as he picked you up bridal style. “You can stay with me tonight -”

“Bloody hell Verstappen.” Your arms flung around his neck. “Haven’t even taken me on a date yet!” You giggled as the Dutch driver opened his hotel door, carrying you inside before placing you gently down on the bed. He rummaged through his bags and pulled out one of his shirts and a spare pair of his boxers.

He turned back to you and placed the clothes beside you. Grabbing a cloth he cupped your face and started to take off your make-up. Your face fell into his warm touch, slightly humming at the sensation on your skin. Max smiled before brushing your hair out, letting his fingers run through the strands.

“You think you can dress yourself?” He tilted your chin up to look up at him.

“Hmm…” You hummed back in approval. Max stepped back, turning his back and allowed you to slip your dress off. Throwing it aside you then threw your bra in front of Max, something which made the boy smirk from his place, next came your underwear, only making his grin grow. “You can turn around now.” Max spun on his heel to be greeted with a tired smile from you as you sat in his clothes.

“Better?”

“Perfect.”

“Come on,” Max moved to pull the duvet back, guiding you into his bed. “You need to rest, I’ll sleep on that sofa.” Max nodded to the small sofa across the room. “Just call me if you need me -”

“You can’t sleep on the sofa.” You whined as you lay down. “You’ll ache in the morning.”

“I ache every time I get into a car, a sofa won’t be an issue.”

“Then that’s even more of a reason to sleep in bed.”

Max knew he shouldn’t. He couldn’t lie to himself that after the pair of you spent the night chatting he’d grown a little soft spot for you. He shouldn’t have felt like that so quickly but there was something about you. Maybe it was because he knew you were off limits that only made him want you even more. He never saw you as a way to get back at Mercedes, that never crossed his mind, he just knew that he couldn’t get lost in this. He couldn’t fall for someone he couldn’t have.

But he was Max Verstappen and anything he wanted, he got.

That night wasn’t the last you’d spend in bed with one another. That morning you woke up in one another's arms before Max had to wake you up so you wouldn’t be late. You’d lied to Lewis and told him you stayed with Lando, luckily for you Lando couldn’t remember anything from the night so he just agreed.

You’d spent weeks getting to know Max and when the USA GP rolled around it was now his time to show everyone he was capable of winning this World Title. Max had won the race and invited you to join him and a few others in the celebrations. He kissed you for the first time that night and the rest was history.

The day Toto found out was one you’d never forget and it also happened to be the day of the biggest race of the season. Auba Duabi.

Max knew it was stupid to kiss you in front of the entire world when he won his first championship but at that moment he didn’t care. You were clapping alongside the Mercedes mechanics, trying not to look too happy when Max got out of the car. Max took his helmet off and looked over at you, a smirk on his lips. To anyone looking on it would have just looked as if he was being smug to the Mercades workers but in actual fact, it was for you. He strode over to you like he owned everything in the world and pulled your lips onto his. If Toto didn’t hate Max already he certainly did now.

Toto hid away in one of the IT rooms, not wanting to be hounded by the press after his daughter had just kissed his rival in front of everyone. You knew you had to face him so you left Max to talk to interviewers to talk to him. Toto was sitting in one of the chairs looking out to the track, he tapped his finger against his cheek, ticking away like a bomb.

“Dad?” You opened the door before closing it quietly behind you. “I need to explain what just happened… Max and I -”

“How long have you been hiding that from me?” He asked, still not, looking at you.

“Since America, the end of October.”

“All that time…” He straightened his back, running his hand through his hair. “And you just lied to me?”

“It’s not like I wanted to.” You stepped further into the room. “I never wanted to hide it from you -”

“But you did.” He turned on his chair to finally meet your gaze. “For months and then the time you decide to make everything public you do it on the day Red Bull cheated us out of a win, Lewis could have won his eighth World Title if it wasn’t for him -”

“See this is why I didn’t tell you.” Your teary eyes met his. “Because you turn it into some shitty rivalry thing. You don’t care about how I feel, how he makes me feel. You always turn it around and make it a work thing.” You stepped closer to him. “I know how much Lewis and this entire team mean to you, this sport is my life as much as it is yours but there are times when you need to separate the two and me and Max being together is one of those times.”

“Maybe you should have thought about that before you decided to kiss him in front of the world and you didn’t even tell me first, I had to find out when everyone else did, how do you think I feel?”

“I know.” You sat down, wiping the tears that had spilt. “I know, I understand that and please believe me when I tell you that I never meant for it to happen like that.”

Toto gave you a look, he was searching your eyes for a lie but couldn’t find one. “When were you going to tell me?”

“If I’m honest I was waiting until this season ended. Then I would have told you during the break, Max could have come over -”

“He’s not setting foot in my house.” Toto snapped.

“Dad…”

“He’s not.” He took a deep breath as a small knock sounded at the door. Max, drenched in champagne opened the door slowly before stepping inside. Toto met his gaze and any inch of forgiveness he wanted to give you quickly disappeared. “Get out.”

“I just want to talk to you.” Max replied, making his way over to you, his hand resting on your shoulder. “That kiss was my fault. I instigated it… as you probably could have guessed.”

“Don’t touch her.” Toto’s eyes fell onto Max’s hand.

“Christ if you hate that you’d hate to know what he did after America -”

“You’re a cheating prick you know that Verstappen?” Toto jumped up. “Just like your father, you will never achieve anything -”

“Dad!” You now snapped at Toto.

“Yeah?” Max’s tone turned sour. “My Dad was never a world champion and from what I remember neither are you but I am.”

“Only because you cheated -”

“The FIA disagrees. You just can’t handle that there’s someone on that grid that won’t let your precious golden boy through when he gets too close.”

“You know what.” Toto headed towards the door. “I hope the two of you get on well because you’re not coming back home all the time you’re with him.” He didn’t say another word as he slammed the door behind him and left you two in the darkened room.

Max didn’t wait a second before pulling you into a hug. Your face met his race suit as you burst into tears. Your arms wrapped around him as you sobbed. “I’m so sorry,” Max mumbled into your hair. “It was a stupid thing to do -”

“Why Max?” You held onto his racing suit. “Why did you have to do that?”

“I just wanted to share this night with the woman I love and not just behind closed doors. It was stupid, I should have waited and we could have told Toto after Christmas.” His grip tightened on you as he soothed your cries. “Look,” Max looked down at you, his hand moving to pull your face away from his chest to look at him. “I know it’s hard but let's forget about it, for now, go out and celebrate and then we’ll talk to him tomorrow. If things don’t go as planned then you can move in with me, we’ll spend Christmas together if you want.” He took a deep breath. “I know it won’t be the same but -”

“I’d love to.” You cut him off.

You never wanted to ruin Max’s day and make it all about yourself but he was partly to blame for your sadness and he knew that. Drying your tears the pair of you went back to his hotel room to get ready for the party and sure enough with a drop of alcohol you forgot about what had happened a few mere hours ago and you could now enjoy your night never having to worry if someone posted an accidental photo of you and Max getting a little too close. Whilst you and Max were side by side in one another's arms Toto was sitting on his hotel bed, still working whilst Susie was scrolling through social media.

“Have you spoken to her?” Susie suddenly asked, her eyes glued on that man before her.

“I’m working -”

“I don’t care.” She cut him off. “Have you spoken to her?” Toto let out a deep breath, taking his glasses off before running his hands through his hair.

“Yes…”

“And?”

“It didn’t go well.”

“Toto -”

“Why him Susie? Why out of every driver on that grid did she have to go for him?” He looked defeated as he spoke. “And she lied to me for months, telling me she was meeting a friend or just going for a walk but in actual fact, she was going to see him. All this time -”

“And why do you think she kept it from you?” The woman arched her brows, clearly on your side. “Because she knew you’d act like this! And I can bet you anything you two didn't just have a normal conversation -”

“He ruined it! We were talking and he came in and ruined it.”

“Then you ignore him like an actual adult.” Susie sat on the end of the bed as she spoke again. “What did you say to her?”

“Regretable things.” He replied.

“Like?”

He debated if he should tell her or not but he also knew he’d have to say something when you didn’t return home with them. “I kicked her out.”

“I beg your pardon?” Susie was close to kicking him out after those words.

“I didn’t mean what I said, he instigated it -”

“Toto you’re her father you shouldn’t throw words like that around when her boyfriend drops a stupid comment.” Susie huffed. “I understand that her lying to you isn’t going to help this situation but you also need to understand where she’s coming from. What happened today has nothing to do with Max and you need to remember that. If the FIA stay by their decision then we go again next year. This isn’t the end for Lewis and this shouldn’t end your and y/n’s relationship. Look,” She turned her phone to show him photos of you and Max at the party. “She’s happy with him, isn’t that what you want?”

“How do you feel about it?” Toto suddenly asked, his eyes darting from the photos.

“It doesn’t matter what I think, she isn’t my daughter.”

Susie had a point. You were Toto’s eldest child and had grown up alongside the race track. Your mother had passed so he took care of you whilst he balanced his business and racing career. He knew the dangers of raising you by a track, one of them being you’d be around people he didn’t want you to be but he knew you were smart enough to stay away from those he didn’t like well… so he thought.

“Why didn’t she go for Lewis?” He threw his glasses aside. “Or Mick, or George -”

“Clearly she wanted a World Champion.”

“Lewis is a World Champion…”

“Not the current one though.”

“Don’t start that.” He complained. “I’ll speak to her.”

Another conversation led to another argument, surprisingly Max stayed out of this one and yet it still all went to shit. You tried to not let it all get to you but that was easier said than done. Living with Max was vastly different to your life if England. Instead of being woken up by an excited Jack, you were greeted with two cats that looked as if they should have lived in the Savannah rather than a Monaco apartment and as much as you loved growing closer with Max and the two of you planning your lives out with one another you still couldn’t help but miss Toto despite his harsh words that had pulled you apart.

The season was underway again with the first race starting in Bahrain and for the first time in your life, you didn’t go as a guest for Mercedes but for Red Bull. Max did his best to keep you by his side the entire time, not wanting any press to get near you and ask you unwanted questions. He also didn’t want your Dad to waltz into the garage and ruin things yet again but even he couldn’t stop that.

“You okay?” Max asked. His eyes fell on yours as you sat in the garage, watching the mechanics work.

“I’m fine.” You smiled back at him as he walked over to you. He stood before you, his hands moving to your chin and lifting it towards him. “How are you feeling?”

“It’s only practice so I’m not nervous. Anything can happen.”

“Exactly so be careful.” You narrowed your gaze at him.

“I’m always careful.” He smiled knowing that wasn’t true in the slightest.

“I’ve moved in with you and now you’re lying to me.” You mirrored his smile.

“Only once in nearly six months.” His smile turned into a smirk.

“Max!” He leaned down and placed a kiss on your lips cutting you off. He pulled away after a second just to go and deepen the kiss even more. His thumb grazed your cheek as he tugged on your bottom lip, making you want him more. “Don’t start something you can’t finish Verstappen.” You pulled back, smirking up at him.

Max straightened himself, his hand cupping your jaw as he looked down at you. “You know I can finish.”

“Verstappen?” A sudden voice made the two of you jump apart. The Dutchman spun around to be greeted with the eyes of your father. Toto wanted nothing more than to yell at what he’d seen and just walk off like nothing had happened but he knew he couldn’t, he wanted to make amends. “Can we talk?”

“Me?” Max asked.

“Yes…”

“Just me?” He arched his brows, confused as to why Toto would just want to speak to him rather than the two of you. Max looked back at you before planting a kiss on your forehead. “I won’t be long.” You nodded, sparing a glance at Toto before Max led him away to his driver's room.

Max slammed the door behind him before turning to face Toto. “Why the fuck are you -”

“Do you love her?” Toto suddenly cut him off in a harsh tone. His eyes didn’t leave Max’s figure as the brunette looked at him in disbelief.

“Sorry?” Max couldn’t believe he was even being asked that question.

“You heard the question Verstappen.”

“Yeah I did but I’m trying to work out why you’d even ask me that? What do you think I made her my girlfriend to get back at you? Do you think it was my way of finding out information about Mercedes? You know Toto everyone else out there might think I’m a selfish brat who can only win by shoving others off the track but I’m not like that and y/n was the only one who gave me a chance to tell my side of the story. She knew what it was like to be in the spotlight since she was born and she knew what it was like to feel the pressure of living up to your father's expectations. I have told her every single thing about me so do forgive the idea that I may be confused as to why you’d ask me if I do in fact love your daughter.”

“So you do?”

“Of course I fucking love her. If she asked I’d give up my World Title for her, I’d leave Formula 1 if that’s what she wanted. I love her more than anything and anyone in this world and I would have thought these past few months would have told you that.” Max took a breath. “But then again you were never there for her. All those nights she spent crying because she just wanted you to forgive her, I was there, I dried her tears every single time. You never called, you never even came to see her on Christmas. You don’t have to like me, I’m not asking for you to forget how we both lied but I’m asking you to treat her like your daughter again and not like some stranger.”

“I need to apologise to you too.”

“You need to appologise to her first.”

“I wanted to apologise to you first. If she sees me making the effort with you she may forgive me faster.”

Max eyed your father, scanning his face for a lie but he never saw one. “That’s a smart move.”

“I’m sorry for what happened. I never meant what I said, you can even ask y/n, I’ve always thought you were talented but the thought of you dating my daughter was something that I would need time to get used to. I was so angry at a decision by the FIA that I took it all out on the two of you. I know you didn’t make that decision and I need to learn to separate the sport and my daughter's feelings. What happens on that track and in these garages should stay on the track. I shouldn’t bring any shitty decision to her and your relationship.”

Max waited a few seconds before speaking again. “If she accepts your apology then so will I. I love her and if she’s happy with moving on then I will. She’s already met my family and they love her so I just hope you’ll accept me into yours like mine did with her.”

That comment hurt Toto. He’d really fucked up this time. You and he have argued in the past but it was still rare. The two of you were as close as they could come and the past few months without you made his heartache.

“Can you go and get her for me?”

Max nodded, turning on his heel as he walked back out to the garages to grab you. Max could tell Toto was being sincere and genuinely wanted his and your forgiveness but he wouldn’t show Toto an inch of kindness until you did. No matter his opinion of your father he would stand by you and show Toto the same respect you would.

When he entered the room with you again he sent Toto one glance before he leaned down to kiss you. Max didn’t hesitate when he deepened the kiss, cupping your jaw whilst his arm pulled your waist into his hips. Max pulled back eventually, smirking down at you before placing one last peck on your lips. “I’ll be just outside if you need me.”

“Thank you, love.” You smiled as he left, now leaving you and your Dad alone for the first time in months.

Toto looked as if he hadn’t slept since the end of last season. His face brightened when he saw you but his face was still dull and the glint in his once happy eyes had left. “y/n…”

“How’ve you been?” You asked, doing your best to not just run and give him a hug. “You looked tired.”

“I haven’t exactly slept well since our argument.”

“You can tell.” You couldn’t help but smile a little at your own words.

Toto mirrored your facial expression before his lips fell back into a line. “Y/n… I’m so sorry.” He took a deep breath before he continued. “I shouldn’t have said what I said. I should have never kicked you out of the house just because you started dating a rival driver. I understand why you kept it a secret, you know I’d react how I did because I couldn’t separate work from family and for that I’m sorry. I want you to move back in with us, I want Max to be a part of the family. I want us to go out for meals, with him, I want him to stay over and be one of us and for that to happen I need to put my bitterness aside. Y/n I am so sorry for what I said, please can you forgive me for what happened?”

Your smile grew before you spoke. “I hate to break it to you but I won’t be moving back in with you and Susie. As much as I miss you both and Jack, I enjoy living with Max although I am going to try and convince him to move closer to you both.”

“Think I can live with that.” He smiled.

“I’m sorry for keeping it from you -”

“No y/n it was all my fault, please don’t apologise for that.”

“Well… your apology is accepted. I won’t forget what happened but I can thank you for basically letting me move in with my boyfriend and we’re closer than ever, even with his family.”

“I think it’s only fair we invite Max round for dinner.”

“As long as you won’t kill him.”

“I can’t promise I won’t give him a hard time but I’ll promise I won’t kill him.” His smile grew. “Unless he hurts you.”

“I can assure you that you’ll never need to worry about Max hurting me. He’s been the best thing that’s happened to me for a while.”

“How did you two even meet properly? A night out?”

“You remember the day I was late to bring you coffee last season? I walked straight into him and nearly burned the bloke, he replaced the coffee and gave me a new shirt so it didn’t look suspicious, that night he gave me back my Mercedes shirt that he’d washed and we spent the night talking, he looked after me when I came back home slightly drunk without Lewis one night and well things just sort of went off from there.”

He nodded, suddenly connecting the dots. “He loves you.”

“I’d bloody hope he did if I’m honest.”

Toto laughed at your words, stepping closer to you. “I guess he’s a part of the family then.” He held his arms out, silently asking for a hug which you happily complied with. “Unless he hurts you…” He muttered. “Then I’ll make sure he ends up under Lewis’ car.”

“Guess we’ve got to invite him for dinner and see if you two get on as well as I want you to.”

Sweet Little Lies - Lando Norris x reader

Sweet Little Lies - Lando Norris X Reader

Lando Norris x albon!sister

Requested? Yes/No: Heyyy  I just wanted to, say that your stories are absolutely amazing and I really enjoy reading Them. It would be nice if you could write an Lando Norris x reader maybe Alex albons sister story I would really appreciate it. Best regards💕

Summary: Your brother Alex plans a trip away just before the Italian Grand Prix and invites a few drivers, including Lando Norris.

Warnings: Fluff, cocky Lando, a smidge of angst, classic one-bed trope

Word Count: 5K

Alex was beyond stressed and needed a break from the track and thankfully for him there was a two-week gap between now and the next race, a gap he wanted to make the most of. He’d asked around a few drivers including George Russell and Lando Norris all of which agreed to join him. He’d booked a large cabin for you all in Sweden, a nice place where you could all relax without the world bothering you.

You and Alex were joined at the hip so there was no question that you wouldn’t be joining him. The pair of you had a three and half year age gap, you being the youngest which made act like your security guard whenever the two of you were with one another. Alex was someone who didn’t like conflict and chose to avoid it wherever possible but that differed when it came to you. Alex may have seemed as if he’d never throw a punch but he did break your old bully’s nose, and he pushed the girl who stole your favourite book down the stairs, oh and not to mention the time he shoved Gasly into a door when he tried to take you on a date.

You were currently sitting in the back of the car, Alex driving whilst Lily was by his side. Looking out the window all you could see was blankets of white covering every tree branch and every inch of ground as far as the eye could see. This place was beautiful, it was no wonder why Alex wanted everyone else to join you all.

“Alex this place is stunning.” Lily smiled, looking over at him before glancing back at you with a smile.

“See I told you I knew what I was doing, I didn’t need an assistant to plan anything,” Alex announced, referencing yours and his conversion from a few days prior where you knew he’d forget something when planning the entire trip.

“Give it a few minutes and we’ll find something Alex missed.” You smiled back at the two of them as he parked the car. George, Lando, Carmen and a few other of your close friends trailed behind you guys in their own cars. Alex parked up before bracing himself for the icy air. He opened the door for Lily whilst you got out on your own before grabbing your bags and heading to the door. Lily had already opened it, waiting for the rest of you to join her.

“It’s even prettier in here…” Lily spoke as he held the door open for you and Alex who was attempting to carry her bags as well as his into the cabin. Your eyes fell onto the others who were now parked and climbing out of their cars. You locked eyes with Lando Norris, only for a second before you turned your back on him and walked inside.

Norris was a cocky little shit. Without the eyes of Alex around, he was a flirt and always wanted to get you alone with him. Whenever he needed to get past you he’d always hold your hips and pull you closer to him before letting his eyes linger on you as he moved past you. If you ever went out with Alex after a race he’d always buy you a drink or two but always away from the eyes of your brother.

“Alex did well.” You smiled at your brother who’d now made his way inside the house with the remaining bags.

“I told you but you never believe me!” He whined yet his expression turned to a warm one when the rest of your friends made their way inside. He embraced George and Lando into hugs before welcoming the rest of your friends giving Lando the chance to talk to you.

“You look cold.” He smirked down at you.

“Well believe it or not it is snowing outside.” You gave him a curious glance. “I know you aren’t the smartest on the grid but I thought you’d know that.”

“Oh I’m aware, just thought you’d be smart and wrap up warm.”

“I have!” You gestured to your jumper.

“And yet you still look cold.” He teased. “Don’t worry I bought plenty of hoodies.”

“Hate to break it to you Lando but my brother might kill you if he catches me wearing a McLaren hoodie with your name and number on it.”

“You never know.” He shrugged. “You look better in McLaren colour than you do in Williams.”

“How would you know?”

“Oh, shit…” The sudden tone of Alex grabbed everyone’s attention including yours and Landos, ripping the pair of you away from your conversation. “You know you said I’d forget something?” He currently held the fridge door open as he looked back at you. “Forgot to buy food as I decided to book a self-catering cabin…”

“Well that’s fine, we passed a shop when we came here it’s not a long drive,” Lando replied. “I don’t mind driving back out to get things.” He looked over at you before he spoke again. “If someone wants to join me that is.”

Alex wasn’t paying much attention to the way Lando looked at you and made a suggestion before he really thought it through. “Take y/n with you, She knows what we all like and what we don’t.” He looked between you both as you gave Lando a side-eye.

“That’s fine by me.” Lando took his keys out of his pocket. “Ready?”

“Let me grab my coat.” You knew if you left the shopping to Lando the lot of you would be eating crackers and crisps for the entirety of your stay. Lando headed out of the door with you by his side, opening the car door he allowed you to climb in before taking his seat. “Do me a favour Norris,” You spoke as he started the car up. “Don’t kill us by driving like an idiot.”

“I drive for a living.” He slowly pulled out of the cabin driveway. “I think we’ll be fine.”

“You drive like an idiot for a living.” You sent him a look as he picked up speed.

“Yeah but I’m alive, aren’t I?”

“For now.”

“Look if we crash Alex would kill us.”

“No, he’ll kill you.” You smirked over at him earning a smile from Lando.

“You may have a point there.”

The pair of you drove in silence to the shop you’d past a while ago. Snow had started to fall as you two grabbed the bags from the boot and headed inside to grab what you needed. Lando grabbed one of the carts and followed closely behind you. Leading him through the store you started to pile all the necessities inside.

“Has Alex always been protective of you?” Lando suddenly asked, breaking the silence the two of you had caused.

“He’s my older brother of course he is.” You turned back to look at him. “Why’d you ask?”

Lando shrugged before he replied. “He just seemed more laid back in the cabin.”

“He’s just more relaxed now he’s here. He’s had a stressful few months hence the getaway.” You grabbed a loaf of bread and placed it in the cart. “When he’s with Lily he’s more relaxed, think that’s one of the reasons why Mum and Dad love her so much, same for me really. When Alex is with her he seems to forget I exist and actually lets me do normal things.”

“You know you’re allowed to be your own person, right?”

“Tell that to Alex.” You sent him another look. “I like that he’s protective. It makes me feel safe, especially in the garages but sometimes I just want to do things without his constant worrying or his watching eyes.”

“And have you told him that?”

“No, would make him cry.” You turned back to look at Lando once again. “Since when did this turn into a therapy session?”

“It’s more of a conversation starter.” He replied. “You’re a nice girl y/n, why wouldn’t I want to start a conversation with you?”

“Don’t let Alex hear you say that -”

“You think he scares me?”

“Clearly not as you find every waking second as an excuse to talk to me.”

“And yet you seem to reply every single time.”

“My parents taught me manners, Lando.”

“So did mine.” He smirked over at you. “Hence why I’m always nice to you.”

“That isn’t true.” A small smile tugged on your lips at the memory. “Remember when you got on the podium and you decided I was the perfect target to be attacked with champagne?”

“If I remember rightly you were laughing at the whole ordeal.”

“Couldn’t kill you in front of the press, could I?” Lando’s smile grew as you met his gaze again. “If that’s what you do when you get on a podium I hate to think what you’d do if you actually won a race.”

“Well that’s something you’ve got to wait for but I’m sure you’ll be here to see it. I swear you live on the track.”

“Of course I do.” You gave him a confused gaze. “Why wouldn’t I?”

“You and Alex are clearly close”

“He stood up for me when I needed him the most. Ever since I was born Alex was protective and wanted nothing but the best for me.” You and Lando started to head towards the tills. “I can’t thank him enough for that.”

“That’s sweet.” He gave you a warm look. “It seems like all you do is be around him though, can never seem to get you alone -”

“And why the sudden interest?”

“Certainly not a sudden interest.” He fired back. “Think you’ve known for a while that I’ve got a soft spot for the little Albon.”

“Little Albon?” You snapped your head around to look at him. “You aren’t exactly tall or old yourself.” Your brows arched as you spoke.

“Oh, I know.” He smirked.

“Alex would kill you if he heard you speaking like this you know.”

“I’m not scared of him.”

“That’s what Gasly said and he still ended up in a door.”

“All Gasly wants is a cheap fuck -”

“Are you calling me cheap Norris?” Your words made his eyes widen in regret.

“I didn’t mean it like that!”

You couldn’t help but laugh at his words. Lando would always try and start up conversations with you. He’d do his best to flirt, mainly by slating other drivers who clearly had an eye for you however much like right now he’d always happened to make a comment and land himself into hot water. That was one thing you did like about Lando, in a matter of seconds he’d go from acting incredibly cocky to begging for your forgiveness.

“Calm down Norris, I know you didn’t mean it like that.” You winked before paying for the food and heading back to your cabin.

The night went on and you could continually feel the gaze of Lando Norris on you. You didn’t mind it really, Lando was an attractive guy and anyone would be flattered having someone like him take an interest in them. Slowly everyone started to filter out of the front room and headed off to bed after the long journey. You too headed off to one of the spare rooms only to find your friend Ben making himself comfortable.

“Ben?” You called out to the blonde boy. “Aren’t you sharing with Sharon? You know… your girlfriend?”

“Sorry y/n but she kicked me out and there’s no way I can sleep on that sofa with my shitty back.” He replied. “I may have made a joke about not wanting to marry her and now she doesn’t want me in the same room as her.”

“Fantastic.” You muttered, grabbing your bag before heading back to the front room knowing Lando would have taken the last room and you’d rather him not catch on that you were on your own. Besides if Alex caught you walking in there you and Lando would find yourselves sleeping in the snow.

Throwing yourself onto the sofa you propped yourself up to fix your gaze on the TV hoping it would bore you enough that you could fall asleep and forget the cold air that grazed your skin. After some time you felt your eyelids growing heavy and the familiar feeling of sleep started to take over your body when a sudden shadow made your heart jump. Sitting up with a sudden shot of panic through your veins you were met with the wide eyes of Lando Norris.

“Fucking hell Lando you scared the shit out of me!” You glared at the boy who stood shirtless before you with a smirk. “What are you even doing in here?”

“I just came in to grab a drink.” He shrugged, casually striding to sit on the sofa you were laying on. “Could ask the same about you…”

You huffed before replying. “Ben’s girlfriend kicked him out of their bed because he made a stupid comment so he took my room and as you can probably guess there are no rooms left.”

“So you thought you’d get frostbite and sleep in here?”

“That was the plan…”

“Idiot…” He spoke with a smirk as he stood up and moved to pick you up. The British boy carried you in his arms bridal style as he walked to his room. “Christ you are cold…” His large hands squeezed your thighs slightly.

“What are you doing?” You whispered. “Alex will kill us if he sees us!” Lando kicked the door open before setting you down on the edge of his bed. He planted his hands beside your sides, leaning down so his face was just inches from yours, his beautiful eyes pouring into yours.

“When are you going to stop worrying about what your brother thinks?” His voice was smooth as you felt his hot breath against your lips. “You need to start living your own life rather than spending it in his shadow -”

“I don’t spend my life in his shadow -”

“Yeah?” He raised his hand and moved your hair from your face before he tucked it behind your ear. “Then why are you so reluctant to spend time with me?”

“Always the centre of attention Norris.” Your brows arched.

Lando let out a small laugh before he spoke. “Someone’s got to be.”

He straightened himself up, looking down at you with the smirk still bright on his face before he took a few steps back to turn the main light off, his face only lit via the small lamp light next to his bed. You couldn’t help but let your eyes flicker down to his chest and torso. You could never lie to yourself that Lando wasn’t attractive, he was stunning. He picked up on your staring immediately, if it was even possible his smirk grew wider. “Enjoying the view?” He moved over to his bags which were only half unpacked, pulling out a hoodie for you, one with his name clearly printed on the front and back.

“Not much else to look at.” You gave him a look as he handed you the hoodie.

“Put it on, you’ll be warmer.”

Your eyes narrowed at his proposition but as much as you wanted to refuse it you knew you couldn’t, it was freezing. Lando climbed into bed, watching you get dressed in his clothes. “Think you should stop staring Lando.”

“It looks good on you.” You glanced in the mirror as he spoke.

“It does.” You spun on your heel to face him again before walking towards his bed. Lando held his arms out, clearly wanting you to fall into them but you ignored him as you got in the opposite side.

“You’ll be cold on your own.” Lando reached over to the lamp, plunging the two of you into darkness.

“I have your hoodie I’ll be fine.”

“You know to actually stay warm we’re supposed to be naked and excanage body heat.”

“I’m not that desperate.” You pulled the duvet around your body as you spoke which earnt you a whine from Lando.

“You’re hogging the duvet.”

“No, I’m not.”

“Yes, you are!” Lando suddenly pulled the duvet from you, the force making you suddenly fall back further into the bed and closer to the Brit. “See!”

You didn’t say anything as you tried to regain what you’d lost and settle down for the night. Your mind drifts off to what Alex would say if he found out whose bed you were sleeping in but Lando did have a point, you needed to stop thinking about what Alex would think or if he would disagree with your actions. You were your own person who deserved to do what she pleased.

“What’s on your mind?” He broke the silence. You turned around meeting his eyes in the dark room, your action taking him by surprise for a second.

“You’re right.”

“About what?” He arched his brows at your words.

“Alex.” Huffing you continued. “I do think of him every single time I do something, if he’ll approve or if it’ll affect him. I never put myself first.”

“Then you should learn to.” His tone was soft. “You’ll enjoy life a lot more.”

“Who says I don’t enjoy it already?”

He laughed, getting closer to you as he spoke. “I never said you didn’t enjoy it as it is, I’m just saying there’s a lot more you’ll be able to enjoy when you put yourself first. I’m not saying you disregard his feelings -”

“I get what you’re saying, Lando.” Smiling you shut your eyes, the wave of tiredness taking over you. “Thank you.”

“See y/n,” He settled, following your actions. “I do have some sense.”

“Shame you don’t use it.”

The next morning you opened your eyes to feel the strong grip of Lando around your waist. In the night the pair of you had managed to find your way into one another arms and clearly stayed like that throughout the night. Your head was buried in the crook of his neck and your right thigh was hooked over his waist. You tried to move slightly, hoping to leave before he woke up and realised what position the two of you were in but his grip on your waist suddenly tightened, not allowing you to leave.

“Not trying to run away after I kept you warm all night, are you?” He looked down at you, his floppy brown hair laying in front of his eyes.

Reaching your hand up you pushed your fingers through his hair before replying. “If anyone sees -”

Lando quickly pushed himself up and threw you down onto the bed underneath him. Propping himself up with his hands by the sides of your head he pouted. “What happened to the y/n I spoke to last night? The one that wanted to do things for herself?”

“Lando they’ll kill you and ruin the trip if they catch us -”

“You think I’m afraid of what Alex has to say to me?”

“I’m his sister -”

“I know but I don’t care.” His head fell further towards yours. “I really don’t y/n… he can hate me for what I’m about to do but I know you won’t.”

“What are you -”

Lando cut you off by planting his lips onto yours, his body lowering onto yours as he deepened the kiss. His hand cupped your jaw as he nipped down on your bottom lip. For a second you hesitated but that didn’t make Lando back down, he knew you wanted this as much as he did. You kissed him back, your hands tangling in his hair and pulling him closer to you. The pair of you continued to deepen the act until you eventually pulled apart, gazing at one another with heavy breaths. The pair of you didn’t need to utter a word to know this had to be kept a secret, something Lando agreed with surprisingly.

Alex didn’t know, until now.

“Be careful today.” You were sat in Lando’s driver's room, watching as he got ready for his race.

Today was the Singapore Grand Prix and you’d managed to sneak off to see Lando, lying to Alex but thankfully Lily was around so hopefully, you’d get away with it. You and Lando had been dating for four months now and you knew you had to tell Alex soon. It was something you wanted to never think about when you were with Lando, never wanting your brother to tear the two of you apart. You’d tried to push that thought at the back of your mind as Lando spoke.

“You know I will be.” He leaned forward to place a kiss on your lips. He looked down at you as he pulled away, frowning at your gaze. “What’s wrong?”

“We need to tell him.”

“We will… look Alex loves me.” Lando’s cocky smile spread onto his lips. “And he loves you so basically if you put that together he’ll love the idea of us being together.”

“Or he’ll hate it -”

“So negative y/n…” He leant down again, this time he kissed you for longer, his hand cupping your jaw as he pulled you closer to him. His knees kicked your legs apart so his body could touch yours. You moaned at his actions which just made Lando smirk into the kiss as he deepened it, never wanting the moment to end.

Whilst you and Lando were having your moment Alex was making a discovery whilst he got ready for the race. He and Lily were also in his driver’s room but not doing the same as you and Lando.

“She’s been getting that drink for a while…” Alex trailed off, looking at Lily as he zipped up his suit. “Maybe I should get someone to go and find her -”

“She’s an adult Alex,” Lily replied. “She probably just ended up bumping into someone. She knows a lot of people here, maybe Max’s mum saw her, or maybe Daniel’s nephew, he’d always liked her -”

“She has a drink in her bag.” Alex huffed. “She always carries water.” He stalked over to your bag which was sitting beside his helmet. Snatching the small black backpack he unzipped it and pulled out a bottle of water and held it towards Lily. “See!”

“She might’ve not wanted water, just text her Alex -” Lily tried to reason with him. Lily and you adored one another and she knew how protective Alex could be. Throughout their relationship, she’d tried to get him to ease off his big brother duties, even for just a second but Alex never faltered.

“I’m going to go find her, I’ve got time…” Alex slowly stopped his words as he opened your bag wider to throw the water inside. His eyes widened at the sight before him, setting the water down he reached his hand inside, his actions catching Lily’s attention.

“What?” Her gaze narrowed as her boyfriend pulled out a small polaroid. He spun it around so she could see what he was looking at. The photo showed Lando kissing your cheek as you wore one of his hoodies, a small hickey making an appearance on your neck, something you’d clearly covered up when Alex was around. Lily watched as Alex set the bag aside and without a word he spun on his heel and headed outside to the McLaren driver's room, still holding the photo in his hand. “Alex -”

“Don’t Lily,” Alex spoke, not looking at her as he stormed off.

“Alex please just think about what you’re doing -”

“That’s my sister!” He spun around to face her, holding the photo out. “And that’s my friend kissing her…” His face was full of hurt as he stepped away again. Lily knew she’d defend you but she also knew how Alex must have felt knowing his own sister lied to him.

Your hand was now in Lando’s hair, the kiss deepening with every second when the door suddenly opened and an angry Alex stepped into the room. Lando quickly jumped back, snapping his head around to meet his friend’s eye. Lily was close behind him, her eyes meeting yours with a regrettable look, knowing what was about to happen.

“Do you two want to explain or are you going to continue to lie?” Alex now shifted his gaze to look between the two of you rather than focusing just on Lando.

“Alex, mate please calm down -” Lando spoke.

“Don’t tell me to calm down! You’re my friend and you’ve been dating my sister behind my back!”

“It’s not like we wanted to.” Your hand found Lando’s as you joined in. “I was scared how you’d react -”

“And you think I’d react better if you just lied to me?”

“Mate don’t take it out on her. I was the one that made her lie, I was afraid to tell you, not her. y/n wanted to tell you after a month but I said no, I was scared. I hid everything from you.” Your eyes jumped to Lando as he spoke. His words weren’t true, it was the opposite. He was prepared to tell Alex but you were the one who’d been afraid to tell your brother. “I love her and the last thing I ever wanted to do was to break you two apart but I can’t help my feelings.”

Alex took a deep breath before looking at you. “Can we talk? Just you and me?”

You nodded, squeezing Lando’s hand as a silent way to let him know that everything would be okay. He added the pressure back before he and Lily left the room. “I’ll be right outside if you need me.” He called to you before shutting the door, leaving you and your brother alone.

For a moment you were both silent. He threw the photo on the table you were still sitting on before running a hand through his hair. “When did it all start?”

“The day we went away at the beginning of the season. Ben took the last room and well… Lando didn’t want me to freeze on the sofa.”

Alex nodded before asking another question. “So like four months now, right?”

“Yes…”

“And what Lando said was true?”

You hesitated for a second on this question. Lando had lied to Alex about the reasons why the two of you had kept it quiet for so long and you knew if you told Alex that Lando had lied to him again then he’d never forgive you. “Yes…”

“And do you love him?”

“Of course I do Alex. At first, I thought he was a cocky little shit and he still is that but there’s more to him than that. He surprises me with gifts, he makes me feel safe, he plans all the dates we go on, he just makes me feel comfortable when we’re together and I love him, Alex. I can’t help who I fall for and I know you’d rather see me with anyone else but him -”

“I don’t hate him you know…” He cut you off. “I just wish it wasn’t him…” Alex made his way towards you as you jumped off the table. “Why didn’t you tell me y/n, we trust one another, don’t we?”

“Of course we do Alex. We’ve been close ever since we were kids but Lando was the one who was scared and I love him so I respected his wishes. I know you’d do the same for Lily.”

He knew you were right, he would do the same for Lily and if you loved Lando like he loved Lily he knew he could warm up to the thought of you two being together, it would just take time. He also knew he could never stay mad at you for very long. Even that one time when you were kids and you accidentally set his favourite toy car on fire, he didn’t stay mad for long. Without uttering a word Alex pulled you into a hug, although this wouldn’t be over instantly he wanted to put your mind at ease.

Alex stepped back, a small smile on his lips as he looked at you. “Lando!” Alex called out. The brunette quickly opened the door, poking his head around the door before he shuffled inside. He awkwardly looked over to you and then back to Alex, hoping to see the two of you make up. Alex walked towards the door, his eyes fixed on Lando. “Now you know I’m not the type to cause any fights or conflict for that matter but if you happen to make my sister cry or just upset her in any way I’ll make sure McLaren replaces you next.” Shoving Lando slightly he left the room, leaving you and Lando alone.

“Why did you lie?” You spoke to your boyfriend, knowing Alex would have left with Lily.

“Why?” Lando asked as he strode towards you, a smile on his lips as his hands snaked around your waist, pulling you into his chest. “Because I know how much Alex means to you and the last thing I ever wanted to do was to break the two of you apart. I love you and if I have to lie to make sure you and Alex don’t argue then that’s what I’ll do, it’s what you do when you’re in love.”

You leant up and took his lips into yours. Your hand were resting on his chest as you lightly tugged on his race suit, pulling you closer to him before pulling back to speak. “Thank you.”

“Anything for you y/n, even if Alex hates me for a while…”

“I can live with that, he’ll get over it.”

“He’s going to have to.” Lando mirrored the gleaming smile on your face as he kissed you again.

It may have taken time for Alex to forgive the two of you for keeping your secret from him but seeing his sister happy, even if it was with Lando Norris, made it all worth it.
