my thoughts on class of 09: the flip side

when i played the first two games i was shocked to find out they were written by a man. when i played the flip side- it all made sense. half of the game was just foot fetish content?? it made me soooo uncomfortable. it was beyond shock value, those scenes were unnecessarily long.

which speaking of, is it just me or was the dialogue drawn out too? like on all scenes. ngl i got a little bored sometimes. the banter and chemistry between the characters wasn't there. and jecka got repetitive too like just yelling at crispin to kill himself every time- where's the sly verbal aggression and quick comebacks? disappointing.

i agree with most people, nicole was pretty ooc. and this game solidified that they really don't give a fuck about each other as much as the fandom thinks. nicole ruined jecka's life in 2 endings- one of them leading to her suicide. and jecka's not nicole's. tho even when nicole killed herself jecka barely gave a fuck bye. but yea jeckole shippers wow they're so goals! (not)

the endings were lame as fuck. the sex slave ending?? what even was that. came out of left field it wasn't even shocking just straight up dumb? it's like they were thinking "how can i make this game more outrageous?" but nobody fucking blinked. three of the endings weren't even real endings, they were just other people dying. they had nothing to do with jecka's story. like what happened after nicole killed herself??

the only positives were the jeckari kiss, the jeckelly make out mention, and emily (of course!). also jecka's voice actress was amazing.

overall the game fucking sucked. it was disappointing and u can tell they went for shock value > satirical social commentary. i also lowkey wanted to see them actually in COLLEGE or post-grad life (like the description of the game said) so idk why we got half of the game set in high school.

The creator of class of 09 only added lesbians for money but jackcole ship is proberly never happing.

Nicole has shown, multiple times, that she isn't a good partner or friend, and Jecka has shown as well. As in getting her into a job at Burger King. And Nicole does not care for her trauma when she sees her get shot. After the prison ending they do not care for each other. Nicole is also not a girls girl. She doesn't care about women when only to fit her point and her views. Like all ships in this game would be so bad if they were cannon and not fanon.

Also, like every ship in this fandom, loving case it is a rejection game, but do you I guys.

oh i could go into a rant about how much of a freak max field is... but thats for another day.

anyway, jecka and nicole aren't close friends in the actual game. like i swear emily and nicole seem much closer. jecka and nicole only hang out cuz they don't have anyone else lmao theres a reason nicole ends up spending more time with emily and ari when they're relevant to the story.

nicole's a sociopath, jecka is not but she's aware nicole is a sociopath and thats why i don't think they'll work. jecka even drops nicole in one ending when she realizes nicole doesn't care or stand for anything. like jecka's mean but she doesn't have the malice and cruelty that nicole has, nor does she tolerate it. we saw how disappointed jecka was in nicole when nicole turned ari straight.

that's why i like emicole ultimately because i think emily and nicole are equally fucked up suicidal sociopaths and therefore it's actual toxic yuri. there's no power imbalance either or any one-sided abuse. they also have the best dialogue and they genuinely like each other.

and i agree with u, it is just a rejection game. but this is also tumblr and this site is mostly used for fandom content and we can have fun if we want with our little shipping wars :)

unpopular opinion but i dont think it was totally ooc for nicole to do that. nicole is vengeful as fuck. we saw what she did to megan and megan was practically a stranger to her. nicole hates hearing the word no and getting told what to do. nicole hates when someone gets in the way of her getting what she wants. jecka was her best friend and she got in the way of nicole getting what she wanted (earning a shit ton of cash by barely working). this would make her even more angry at jecka than she was at megan so ofc she would do something extreme to get back at her. to me it was a disturbing ending, but not a shocking one.

okay so now that the games come out, is anyone shocked by jecka’s suicide ending??

(it’s already super weird that the game has two whole endings about foot fetishes, but oh well.)

like i just feel like the entire ending is odd and super out of character for nicole. like nicole is a bad person, obviously, but jecka is usually the exception for her antics. it just seems super extreme for her for to go and do all of that to her dad, considering emily is already dating jecka’s dad.

i’ve seen people say “oh well nicole is a sociopath!! it’s in character!!!” and i’m just like.. did you actually play the game or just watch the intro?? nicole is definitely a bad person but she wouldn’t hurt jecka bc their friendship actually means something to her.

the only thing jeckole have in common is that they enjoy being verbally cruel to people that's it. i don't get the hype.

emri has fucking better chemistry than jeckole and they have like one scene together LMAOOO. they'd be so fun together tbh and dare i say healthier than aricole... like emily would probably beat the fuck out of nicole for hurting ari. and ari loves mentally insane girls so she'd be into it. love it we need more content
