“I… No, Val…”

He steps back from the bed nervous looking down at Val holding the little bundle in her arms.

The man is a giant, he’s frightened to even hold his daughter, scared of his huge calloused hands might harm the newborn human/Nightsister. Val can easily see that in his facial expressions, but his eyes speak that of want and love. It doesn’t take a Force user to sense the conflict within him.

He desperately wants to hold her, but he couldn’t bring himself to even reach out, no matter how much his brain made him want to. His body just wouldn’t let that happen.

Val would eventually tell him, “I know… but I can help hand her over to you.”

He looks down at the baby, back at Val, then back at the baby before sighing nervously and moving closer to the bed slowly.

The Zabrakian’s hands were shaking and quivering some while Val carefully placed the baby in his arms, still having that lingering terror in him.

Then it all starts.

Savage, as big of a guy as he is, just standing there staring down at the baby girl he helped bring into the galaxy with his soft yellow eyes and not saying anything while Val looks over at him with a tired smile.

He could see the grey/steel blue Nightsister markings on her little face, but would note her skin tone was almost like her mother’s but lighter. Hell, she was practically a perfect mix of the two of them. And is that platinum blonde fuzz hair on the top of her head?

Then her eyes opened, catching him by surprise as his own widened a little and his mouth just slightly opened.

Brown-green. Val’s eyes. How could something so fragile and vulnerable be so perfect?

“I think Mara already likes you, big guy,” Val muttered with a chuckle.

Mara… That was even more perfect…

Then Val tilted her head at him and made that face she’d make when she sees something out of the ordinary.

Are those… Tears in his eyes?

Savage still remains quiet even with his eyes watering as he now slowly sits down on the chair, made for him, and not once taking his eyes off of his daughter while hearing her gentle breaths.

Again, it doesn’t take a Force user to sense how much he fell in love with the girl. Even as his lips turned into biggest smile Val may have seen from him and the tears become nonstop, she could see how much Savage loved her.

He finally got the courage to hold her closer to his body and pressed his lips to her forehead.

“Hello, little one,” would be the first thing he’d say to her. “I’m… I’m your dad.”
