he has to admit, he didn't think he'd encounter anyone else with red hair within mondstadt. it's... rather refreshing, if he's to say the least.

"well, your next town would have to be here in mondstadt. the central city is that way." he points in the direction of the city, the windmills spinning in the distance. "i needed to drop by anyway, perhaps i could show you the way." he offers.

an incident with a group of hilichurls involving one of his traders brought him further out into the countryside. ordinarily, sometimes a member of the guild or even the traveler would take care of the issue, but diluc is already out and about. he figures it wouldn't be a problem to take a detour.

after dispatching the horde of hilichurls and sending the trader on their way to the winery, diluc decides to take a moment to rest at one of the nearby statues before returning to his duties.

his feet crunch the ground, senses becoming alert when he feels a presence near him.

as he grows closer to the base of the statue, a voice calls out to him. he follows it to find a young redheaded boy, and he loosens his shoulders out of his defensive stance.
