btw guys, just to let you know, if i ever become like, quiet or distant with you, i promise with my whole heart that it's not a personal thing. i genuinely love talking to people, and tbh, i talk a lot. and that's where the problem is: i'm a yapper. and because of that, i'm often brushed off, told i'm coming off too strong, or just straight up called annoying or what have you (i know now that those people who did that were not true friends). so as a result, i end up closing off when i think i'm being annoying because i genuinely don't know if i am, and i don't want to bother people.

but i promise you wholeheartedly that i would very much love to talk to you all day if i could, i just pull myself back because i'm honestly terrified of annoying someone or being 'too much'.

i don't know, i just think about how like, i would flail and squeal about my interests and how some 'friends' would like, straight up tell me to 'calm the fuck down' (exact quote), or they'd send one of those really very clearly 'meant to be rude / mocking' reaction images to my flails (think the muppet meme or this one), so skldjfslkf i just, shut myself down before someone else can, sobs. but if you dont mind nonsense ramblings or whatnot, then i hugely appreciate it. but yeah, like, all that (gestures above) is why i try to tone myself down and end up like, semi-ghosting instead, and i'm super sorry about it

it was practically unheard of for diluc to be ambushed or outnumbered, in fact, there was never such thing as 'outnumbered'. he always managed to pull through, yet for once, he faltered. he had never faced a herald before, and he was surprised it had come this far out close to the city.

faced with such an opponent, diluc was at a loss.

he pants heavily as he regains his footing, glaring at the monster when help arrives unexpectedly. he watches the creature retreat, and he sighs heavily.

the flames die out from his claymore and it dematerializes.

"it seems my luck ran out for once." he pauses, "thank you."

with  a  swift  movement  of  his  blade,  calcharo  slices  through  the  various  abyssal  enemies  in  front  of  him. 

he  then  turns  his  attention  to  another,  one  that's  been  watching  the  fight  from  the  beginning.  though  they  were  able  to  go  unseen  up  until  this  point,  the  mercenary  had  sensed  their  presence.  perhaps  it  is  because  they  share  something  in  common.  thinking  about  it  for  too  long  only  angers  him. 

"  what  ?  not  interested  in  joinin'  your  buddies  ?  "  naturally,  his  question  goes  unanswered  and  instead,  he  watches  as  the  enemy  disappears  through  a  portal  of  sorts. 

when  he  is  certain  that  the  danger  has  passed,  he  puts  away  his  sword,  promptly  turning  his  attention  to  diluc. "  fancy  seein'  you  again.  you  make  it  habit  of  being  swarmed  by  enemies,  or  you  jus'  got  incredibly  bad  luck  ?  "
