canon divergencies

connor murphy - connor survives his suicide attempt. he is hospitalized for a week, and once he’s discharged and back in school, he learns about what happened with evan. he refuses to speak to either evan or jared unless he has to and considers what they did one of the worst things a person could do. he begins therapy at cynthia’s insistence and reluctantly begins to repair his relationships with zoe, cynthia, larry and miguel.

dallas “dally” winston - dally survives being shot. he spends two weeks in the hospital recovering. when he’s discharged, he packs up his things and leaves oklahoma.

dean winchester - dean is canon compliant up to season five. i do not acknowledge any other seasons in my portrayal of dean. dean doesn’t settle down like sam asked him to. he continues to hunt and help people as much as he can.

dolores hargreeves - dolores is human. she and five met in the apocalypse and fell in love. she has no superpowers. she worked with five during their time at the commission. she doesn’t like the hargreeves siblings, as she thinks they’re incompetent and annoying. she would much rather be enjoying retirement than saving the world, but she knows how much five’s family means to him, so she helps him even if she doesn’t like his siblings.

finnick odair - he survives and goes on to help katniss overthrow the capitol. as the rebellion dies down, he returns to district four to raise his child with annie.

five hargreeves - the umbrella academy jumps from the 60s to 2019. they arrive eight days before the end of the world and must work together to once again prevent the apocalypse. this time around, they’re successful. now their biggest challenge is learning how to get along.

gabriel “gabe” goodman - gabe survives and goes on to live a happy life. he gets along with diana and natalie and his relationship with dan is a bit strained, but they’re both working on it.

jack twist - jack survives his accident but refuses to speak about it. he’s more careful about his relationships going forward and he reaches out to ennis one more time in the hopes that he’ll get a ranch with him.

jacob “jay” gatsby - he survives and continues to hold out hope that daisy will call or return to him.

jeremiah valeska - after jeremiah is sprayed with jerome’s insanity gas, he works with his brother to terrorize gotham. he doesn’t fall into the vat of chemicals. jeremiah, jerome, and the joker do not exist in the same universe. i treat gotham’s canon and the dark knight’s canon as separate universes.

jerome valeska - jerome doesn’t fall off the building. jim gordon pulls him up and gets him to a hospital. jerome stays for one day and then breaks out. he and jeremiah go on to terrorize gotham. jeremiah, jerome, and the joker do not exist in the same universe. i treat gotham’s canon and the dark knight’s canon as separate universes.

loki laufeyson - the loki that thanos killed was an illusion. he winds up on earth with bruce and manages to convince the avengers that he isn’t working with thanos. he helps them to attempt to locate and destroy the infinity stones and then, later, to find them. he also helps rebuild new asgard.

lucy gray baird - she flees to district thirteen and helps the rebellion in secret. she never returns to the capitol and she lives to see snow killed.

medusa - medusa’s story unfolds as it normally does, except she has a friend named iphicles. iphicles has been in love with her since they were children and medusa returns his feelings, but they can’t be together because of her vows as a priestess of athena. she turns him to stone after athena curses her because she mistakes him for athena returning to apologize.

natalia alianovna “natasha romanoff” romanova - she is resurrected when steve returns the infinity stones. she returns to shield and the avengers, training new agents and preparing for any threats that might attack earth.

rey - rey is not in love with kylo ren. she sees him as an ally and nothing more. rey does not take the skywalker name. rey does not have palpatine’s power of force lightning, nor is she his granddaughter. she is just a force sensitive girl that was abandoned on jakku.

rolf “riff lorton” lautmann - he survives and spends two days in the hospital before he runs away. tony and bernardo are dead and riff refuses to speak to the jets after what they did to anita. all he has is grazi and his neighborhood, but if he doesn’t leave new york, he could very well end up dead.

steven “steve” rogers - steve doesn’t return to the 40s when he returns the infinity stones. he goes back to the present. he gives his shield to sam and works with natasha to help train new recruits.

anton “tony” wyzek - tony survives. he spends a week in the hospital recovering from his injuries. valentina tells him about the jets and riff’s death. once he’s discharged from the hospital, tony takes all the money he has and leaves new york with maria. they end up in massachusetts, and tony starts attending college to study medicine and become a doctor.
