That one time Cas was using all his considerable strength and fortitude to fight the overpowering magic turning him into a homicidal zombie maniac, Sam randomly insulted his car, and Dean tried to sit on the fence about it.

Plenty of shows these days play hard with the whole found family/choose your people motif, but Supernatural's on another level with organic little character scenes like this one among the protagonists. They're chugging along with the story of the week while enriching the characters like crazy. I love it. As a viewer, as a writer, as a lover of good performances - I love it.

Wish we'd seen more of this sort of practical hiccup in their adventures over the years. There's very little that either of the brothers can't or won't gamely attempt in the name of getting the monster, and they're both competent at their work, but every Hero needs their kryptonite. Dean perpetually crossing and recrossing a vast continent by road because he's not comfortable on a plane was a great gag.

Okay. So we're getting on the plane, we need to find that demon and exorcise it. I'll get the tickets. You get whatever you can out of the trunk. Whatever that will make it through the security. Meet me back here in five minutes.
