My Top 10 Blacksand (Sandy/Pitch) Fics
As you can expect, since this is my favorite ship, the masterpost for it is actually quite extensive. However, for this list, I limited my selection to fics written specifically for the Rise of the Guardians kinkmeme. What this means is that the stories I wrote for blacksand events and just for myself were not considered when making this list, and that it is not an overall look at my blacksand output.
That being said, onto the list!
Fics are listed in chronological order, oldest first.
1. Not If He Had Ten Thousand Years (Jack/Pitch, Pitch/Sandy) (4/29): I did end up crossposting this one to Ao3! Jack has a sexy dream about Pitch, and Sandy goes to tease Pitch about it, because Jack dreams of only human things, and Sandy and Pitch share rather inhuman delights.
2. Terrifyingly Easy (Pitch/Sandy) (5/17): Sandy volunteers to make Pitch fall in love with him in order to try to stop him from being evil. To his surprise, he finds himself falling in love with Pitch in return.
3. Variations on a Theme (Pitch/Sandy) (5/29): Sandy and Pitch have fantasies about doing terrible violence to each other, but when they finally do meet, it is not the violence of these fantasies that is fulfilled. Note: Potentially disturbing material.
4. Cause and Effect (Pitch/Sandy) (6/9): Sandy is ill and his dreamsand is out of control. Only Pitch can help control it, and once he’s near Sandy, Sandy is able to tell him what he was trying to do and confess his feelings.
5. The Safeword is Fhtagn (Pitch/Sandman) (6/25): Pitch and Sandy try out a lot of kinky things (including tentacle monster sex), but Pitch’s favorite thing of all to do with Sandy is something really quite simple.
6. Oh No, He’s Hot (Pitch/Sandy) (8/27): Sandy goes looking for Pitch in his lair on the flimsiest of premises. He finds that Pitch has size-shifted himself such that Sandy easily fits in the palm of his hand. Sandy is mortified at how hot he finds this, but Pitch is quite willing to give him what he wants when he realizes this.
7. Good Thing I’m So Awful (Everyone/Sandy; Pitch/Sandy) (9/29): Sandy give everyone dreams, including erotic dreams, but Pitch is the only one who really wants this to mean something–and to return the favor.
8. Do I Make You Nervous? (Pitch/Sandy)(7/9): Everyone has a crush on Sandy and Pitch doesn’t like it one bit. So he attacks Sandy very poorly (i.e., a tackle turns to cuddling), and learns a reason why he might get the chance to actually get familiar with the feeling of happiness.
9. Everything Just So (Pitch/Sandy)(7/15): Pitch and Sandy are having a big wedding, but Sandy is finding fault with everything about it. Pitch worries that this is because Sandy subconsciously doesn’t really want to marry him, and luckily decides to actually say something and find out that he couldn’t be more wrong.
10. The Cigarette Trope (Pitch/Sandy)(11/21): Sandy can only fall asleep after marathon sex, and Pitch is the one he goes to for this. Afterwards, Pitch tries to enjoy a post-sex dreamsand cigarette, though when the Guardians show up to investigate Sandy’s supposed disappearance, this complicates things.
Bonus Fics!
1. Beguiled (gen???) (7/22): This isn’t in the main list because it includes Sandy as the bad guy and Pitch as a Guardian. Pitch has finally figured out how to capture dreamsand, and dares to dream one of the Sandman’s dreams, knowing he might be the only person on Earth for whom this is safe. It’s not safe.
2. North vs. The 8000 (mentions of Pitch/Sandy) (12/27): Not a main blacksand fic; primarily a crossover between Hellboy and Rise of the Guardians. But someone’s got to stop the Fearspinner and the Dreameater from manifesting in innocent human hosts.
3. Missing Stars (Pitch/Sandy) (2/5): This is a bonus one-shot for The Doors of Perception, during a happy time in the fall of 1967. Kozzy and Sandy stargaze, and all Kozzy wants to do is bring the stars from the sky to put in Sandy’s hair.
4. Shells (one-sided Jack/Sandy; past Pitch/Sandy) (8/24): The original Sandy and Pitch are both dead after the Easter battles. A new version of Sandy appears, and he takes Jack with him to Antarctica to explain some things about his and Pitch’s past, and to break open one more shell.
5. You Have Good Dreams? (Sandy/Pitch)(1/25)|?: AU in which Pitch is a space pirate and Sandy is his captive–well, for a few hours at least. Pitch thought Sandy was beguiling enough as a passive prisoner, but when Sandy turns the tables and ties him up in his own ship? Pitch is such a goner.
6. Unqualified Success (minor background Pitch/Sandy)(6/1): This is really mostly gen, but the blacksand at the end is undeniable, so I wasn’t sure where else to put it, and I really like this story. Pitch is actually a pretty good babysitter…by certain standards. Probably not adult standards.
7. Meet Me At The Lavender Rhino (Pitch/Sandy) (7/31): In a world where the Guardians are real to both adults and children, a woman named Joan reflects on why she likes living in nightmare territory, and what she saw that makes her think Sandy and Pitch aren’t enemies like everyone says.
8. How Dare You (Pitch/Sandy; one-sided Jack/Pitch)(11/28): There’s a lot of issues with the prompt, and maybe with the scenario, but *shrugs*. Pitch and Sandy have a long-term, private arrangement where Sandy shapeshifts to various different human forms and Pitch finds Sandy sleeping in these forms and brings Sandy down to his lair for some mutually desired somnophilia. Jack drastically misinterprets the situation.
