Andrew Garfield: To Heal The Most Traumatic Moment Of His Own Life Through Doing It For His Younger Brother.

Andrew Garfield: “To heal the most traumatic moment of his own life through doing it for his younger brother. Making sure that he didn’t have the same fate, there’s something cosmically beautiful about that. It meant getting a second chance at saving Gwen.”
SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME (2021) dir. Jon Watts Screenplay by Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers

no one who knows me follows me on here so i can say this with confidence. i’m manifesting the BEST soft launch with the boy i’m talking to.
Bucky’s love languages are gift-giving and acts of service (amongst probably the other three) — an unedited drabble.

“How much?”
“No.”
“Blue…” Bucky addressed you by your nickname when he was really serious. It was the complete opposite in your daily interactions. Your first name had always been used in the most humorless of situations but Bucky only used it in when he was being playful or in intimate moments.
“Bucky. I put myself in this situation. I’ve been taking care of it. I don’t need your help,” You softened a bit when you saw him furrow his eyebrows, “You know what I mean. I’m so grateful for you and your generosity but I’ll be fine.”
You smiled small and gripped the small stack of papers. Bucky sighed deeply and watched as you stepped away from him in your cute floral socks and big t-shirt.
You stuffed the stack away with the other copious amounts of mail you had a box for.
“Sweetheart,” Bucky’s voice was rough, deep with emotion. Your acrylics tapped against the bar of your kitchen as you hung your head low.
“Bucky, this is isn’t why I’m in a relationship with you… To take things from you. For it to be an expectation for you to offer what you are.”
“I haven’t even officially offered to give you the money. Maybe I’m just curious.” Just as embarrassment made waves through your body, Bucky chuckled,” But you know me well, sweetheart. Of course I’m covertly offering you the money.”
You turned away, rumbling through your kitchen drawers for a big straw and then the fridge for your favorite comfort drink.
“How much?” He asked again just as you shut the fridge door.
“It’s my debt.”
“Then marry me. Your debt becomes mine.”
You sucked in a sharp breath, and were so stunned you almost let your mason jar slip through your fingertips.
You were silent. So was Bucky.
A few moments passed before Bucky raised up from the couch and walked over to you. He stood close, making you take a few steps back until the middle of your back hit the bar.
Your eyes were intensely connected, pupils shifting back and forth, roaming each other’s faces. You were so focused on his features that you didn’t notice Bucky’s lengthy arms reach behind you and snatch that letter from the top of the stack.
“Buck…”
His eyes roamed the paper, taking a few steps back. He stood across from you, letting his own frame lean against the counter across from you.
“I’ll put this amount in your account right now,” His eyes faintly blink and then frowned when he saw, what you’re assuming was your interest rate.
“I’m not letting you paying this for the rest of your life,” Bucky smiled at you and then looked back down at the letter,” So I’m going to put the money in your account. And you’ll pay this off in the morning and we’ll go any where you want in the world to celebrate.”
“Celebrate?”
“That you’re student debt free and one day, will become by wife.” Bucky folded up the paper slowly, waiting for any kind of protest from you. A grin spread across his face when he didn’t hear a peep out of you,” Because you didn’t say no. You didn’t say anything… You want to be my wife, Blue?” His eyes still hadn’t connected with yours.
“You’re gonna marry me, huh? Travel the world together. Let me give you every single fucking thing you want because I love you and you deserve it.”
He moved back closer to you, and grabbed the rim of your cup. You gave a little squeak when he snatched it from you, to set it on the counter.
“I love you so much-“ You words were muffled when Bucky pressed his lips against yours. You two were wrapped up in each other, soft moans and rough motions. His hands slid down your spine, every sensation on your part being felt through your shirt. You pushed against his chest,” Thank you. I will always be thankful.”
There was no point in fighting it. Bucky was going to pay for it one way or the other — you knew it as soon as his eyes landed on the letter you left open on your coffee table. Department of Education, he read.
“I know you are.” He whispered,” And I know this is a debt that you made but that doesn’t mean I can’t take care of it.”
You traced your fingers on the nape of his neck, smiling with a slight nerve to it.
“Thank you, Bucky.”
He wrapped you back up in a kiss, letting his warm palms squeeze your bum.
“And this isn’t some kind of weird exchange- I’m going pay it anyway but,” Bucky swallowed in another kiss you gave him,” Marry me. Will you marry me?”
You almost let your head shake but Bucky stopped you with ten words.
“I have the ring in my pants’ pocket right now.”
