When I'm losing motivation for my document I remember that you like it so I go through your posts and get inspired to write more

you don’t understand how excited i am to read it, i don’t care if i have to wait years!! your writing is brilliant and it’ll be absolutely perfect

soft whispers of a foreign language echo around cal’s room. cal had just gotten back from the kriegman house. it was different than his normal visits, ones where he would meet andre at the door and immediately go up to the other boy’s room. this time, he deliberately came over when he knew andre would be at track practice in order to meet with mr and mrs kriegman.

cal had been going over to their house for a couple weeks now and made sure andre didn’t know about the secret visits. the time spent with andre’s parents was best classified as german lessons. the entire plan was to surprise andre, and it was going very well.

now, cal sits on his bed, practicing random sentences he had learned that morning. every word he says seems too gentle or too slurred. he’s almost thrown his notebook across the room multiple times but keeps reminding himself that this is for andre.

in the upcoming weeks, when andre’s birthday took place, cal would grow more and more confident in his german, ultimately writing andre a note in the beautiful language. he plans to read it to andre verbally, but he doesn’t know how stupid he’ll sound. andre won’t judge him, though. he’ll be overcome with so much happiness that criticism is the furthest thing from his mind.
