i saw in a community post over on X speculating about the new outfits being “roomier” and hiding taylor’s “unannounced pregnancy” or something along those lines. i got banned from the community group for calling it out so cannot remember the exact wording or who posted it, but that is besides the point.

i’ve also seen a few posts similar to this on several other social media platforms about similar topics relating to taylor being pregnant in the last few months and want to say that this is a topic that is not only insane but is incredibly insensitive to be speculating about- and if you are one of those people - please kindly go outside and touch some grass. this isn’t something that should be speculated on at all. 🩵

That single queer person moment when you finish watching or reading some lgbtq+ media and then feel that deep profound yearning and sadness for something you have never experienced and may never experience.

I am going to say something that might piss people on this site off, and that is that the stabbing at a Taylor Swift themed event in Southport does not exist in a vacuum.

It exists in a world where a joke about bringing a nail gun to the Eras tour to shoot fans gets 400k likes on TikTok, or where a reel about crashing a plane full of Swifties gets 200k likes on Instagram. It exists in a world where, on this very website, the one that promotes itself as rational and reasonable, someone says that "Taylor Swift and her fans should all die violent horrible deaths" and people applauded it. It exists in a world where, during TTPD release week men were in Swifties' comment sections declaring they would beat their daughters and girlfriends if they ever so much as listened to one of her albums. And it exists in a world where this week, fans of a TV show (which I will not name because that is not the point) sent death threats to a girl on Twitter for daring to be a fan of both their beloved show and Taylor Swift.

I don't give a fuck what your opinion of Taylor Swift is. I don't care if you think her music is grating, I don't care if you think she is the worst thing to happen to humanity since Eve ate the god damn apple. This is the dark side of stan culture that no-one talks about; where dislike of an artist becomes so obsessive that it becomes normal, even funny, to joke about killing their fans, because "it's just online, it's just a joke". It isn't. It is rarely ever "just online".

And yes I am going to be That Person and say that you can complain about Swift's brand of feminism and debate her position as a feminist icon all day long, at the end of the day, her name is still synonymous with girls. It doesn't take a genius to work out who this event was geared at.

I am not going to sit and claim that by simply not liking Taylor Swift you directly caused this. I would encourage you to step back, look at the bigger picture of stan culture, including obsessive dislike of an artist, and ask yourself how much this culture has enabled this. If making jokes on tiktok about killing someone over a pop star is normalised, how much of a leap is it to attacking kids with a knife at a fan event?

and of course there is the fact that the british media didn't even wait until those kids were buried before using this event to spread their racist, anti-immigrant agenda despite the race of the attacker not being known. all I can say to that is I am sickened and disappointed but not shocked.

First Crush

You've been working at Avenger's Tower for a few weeks as one of Nick Fury's executive assistants. It's a demanding job and the hours are sometimes unpredictable, but the pay is amazing. As a single mother, it's hard to turn down good money. You were determined to make this work.

The sun was just brightening the sky when you are rudely woken up by a foot to the shoulder. Peeking out of one eye, you see a little foot resting up against your shoulder. Why does this child sleep so wildly? Rolling to the side, you have a second of peace before you're kicked between your shoulder blades. You groan & feel little hands grip your hips, and another jab between your shoulders as your baby tries to pull herself up. "Mama?" You're silent, pretending to sleep. You feel the weight of her little body leaning on your shoulder and her warm breath in your ear. "Mama? Are you sleep?" You feel her fingers try to pry your eyes open.

You roll over on your back so she's stuck between you and the mattress, "I'm awake now." Her giggle is music to your ears.

"Mama! Moof! I'm stuck." You feel her squirming beneath you.

You move gathering her to you, "G'morning, Abby." Showering her with kisses. Your phone rings from the nightstand. Grabbing it, you see it's work & you quickly answer it. The person scheduled to work, got into a car accident on the way in. You let them know you have your daughter, and don't have a babysitter today, but they are desperate. They tell you to bring her in & she can stay in your office with you. Sighing, you hang up & look down at your daughter, "Want to visit Mommy's work?"

You make it to work with Abby in tow. You spread a blanket on the floor next to your desk & set up her toys. The morning runs smoothly and you head to the cafeteria for lunch. You feel eyes on you and Abby, but you try to ignore them. It's hard when Abby is smiling and waving at everyone she sees. "OH! Mama, lookit!" She lets go of your hand & waddles off.

"Abby, no. Come back here." You place your tray of food on the table & follow, her. Oh, no no no. She makes her way directly to Bucky Barnes. He's intimidated you since you started. You haven't seen him smile. He's with a constant frown or glare on his face. Currently he's having lunch with Captain Rogers and Black Widow. "Abby," you hiss.

"Hi," she taps his thigh and smiles at everyone at the table.

Grabbing her hand, "I...I"m so sorry." You try to tug her away, but she just leans up against Bucky's leg.

Steve smiles, "Who do we have here?"

She looks up at Bucky even though Steve asked the question, "I'm Abigail Rose."

Bucky looks confused but Steve and Nat can't help the smile on their faces. "it's nice to meet you," Steve tries again, but your daughter only has eyes for Bucky. She props her elbow on his lap, staring up at him.

You are mortified. "Ok, Abby. You need to eat your lunch. Your food is getting cold."

Abby places her hand on Bucky's Vibranium arm, "But Mama, look how pretty! I loves it. Does it make yous strong? " Steve & Nat laugh.

"I'm so sorry," giving Bucky an apologetic look. "Yes, it's very nice, He's very...strong. Let's let the nice people finish their lunch." You feel flushed & want the ground to open up and swallow you whole.

She takes your hand but returns to Bucky and peels one of the many stickers on her shirt off & places it on his arm, giving him a flirty smile before returning to you. His blue eyes meet yours & a hint of a smile touches his lips.
