QUICK POST BEFORE MOTHER’S DAY ENDS!! Here’s self-aware Poppy, the medic of the group. She’s the most composed outta all of them surprisingly. With a calm and collected head, she is able to repair the puppets using her trusted sewing kit! She’s quite skilled too!

Of course, that isn’t to say that she is always calm and collected, as she goes back to her frazzled self once she sees any of her dear friends hurt. She’s a bit of a Mother Hen! Luckily, she works well under pressure!

Also, unlike the rest of the puppets, she’s the least afraid of Wally and Home. She has mixed feelings for Home but she still adores Wally with all her heart! In fact, she adores all the puppets with all her heart! She’s become their protector, their source of comfort in this confusing and terrifying world that they’ve found themselves in.

And they turn to her when they feel sad or anxious or too scared to even go outside. She wishes that she could just squeeze out all the sadness outta them, but the best that she could really do is just listen and hold them close.

It… helps though.

Self aware swap au, does one of the neighbours suffered a breakdown?

Lol all of them suffered through them once or twice! Especially during the beginning! Afterwards, they sort of gotten used to the whole pattern of "Wake up, act like your characters, don't make Wally upset, don't make Home angry, go to Eddie's post office for weekly meetings, sleep, repeat." Of course, there were some who coped far better than others (like Poppy or Eddie).... and then there were some who have way too many mental breakdowns... (like Barnaby or Howdy)

Also, I apologize for not putting out any drawings today! I have finals coming up so I am studying super hard! I hope by Thursday I'll post a lil something!

HKANJCKJDSBCJBD Hmmmmm I DO wonder if he will be able to drink alcohol, since Welcome Home was once a children's show, I'm not sure if alcohol would've been allowed! Usually, alcohol is replaced by soda in children's media!

I'm not sure if you are considering but I can imagine in the self-aware swap au, everyone (sans Wally obviously) are freaking the hell out but Poppy is abnormally calm about this. Like there is still fear and dread inside of her, but she's in a position where she helps the others to calm down.

AHHHHHHHH THATS WHERE I WAS GOING HOW DID YOU GUESS???

But in all honesty, Poppy is an incredibly motherly character (at least that's how I see her). She is still scared, ESPECIALLY about Home... but someone has to step up and make everyone feel less scared, that's what a mother does.

How can I draw Frank without his trusty partner Eddie?? Just like Frank, self aware Eddie is working hard to figure out why he and his other neighbors are trapped in this colorful world!

They mostly get their information by receiving strange letters that appear randomly in Eddie’s mailbag (he swears that he hasn’t put them there!) Usually this information is newspapers about Welcome Home, concept art, and even fan mail!

Alas, poor Eddie cannot catch a break as he’s the one who breaks character usually. He doesn’t mean to, he just kinda forgets that Wally isn’t self-aware…. And that sends him to a lot of trouble with Home. Thankfully, he’s getting punished by Home so often that Home usually makes his punishments pretty quick. So there’s that I guess? Poor lad is just trying to find the optimism in this kinda situation…

Of course, it’s pretty hard to be optimistic when you’re having your arm ripped out because you accidentally made Wally self-aware again….

well, there is! Barnaby thinks it'll be easier to just off himself to escape this nightmare.... But he's hesitant. He knows that even IF he killed himself, he'll still be back.

In this lil AU, nobody can really 'die', they'll always come back, that's why Home can torture em for so often and not have any consequences. They are puppets, all they have to do is be fixed and they'll be ok. They can still feel pain (lots of it), but they are technically immortal.

So, Barnaby's afraid that if he does kill himself, Home will get even more angry....
